Windshield washer fluid line (under hood) constantly freezes up- causing sprayers not to spray which is EXTREMELY dangerous from a visibility standpoint. Windows become quickly caked with slush and dirt from wet/ snow-filled roads. This happens multiple times, regardless of the type of windshield washer fluid that is used. Husband constantly needs to stop/ get out to correct the issue. Husband has taken our vehicle into one auto repair shop- they were unable to correct the issue. Spoke w/ another this weekend and the auto repair tech said it is a known issue and he actually has the same issue w/ his truck. He wasn't aware of a fix. He stated that he actually carries around extra water bottles so he can spray his windshield at stop signs when the windshield becomes hard to see through. My husband is not a mechanic-- but he believes the issue may be the placement of the windshield washer fluid line. Please google this issue-- there are multiple complaints online.

Recently purchased a 2016 Ford F150 and am having the same issues as reported by multiple other customers. Once the weather approaches freezing temperatures, the door latch fails. Very simple, got into the truck and when closing the door, it will not latch and continued to open. I've found that pushing either the unlock or lock from inside the truck remedies this on the few occasions I've had it happen. My carfax indicates this has been reported to a dealership on multiple occasions w/o remedy. I've reviewed prior complaints and this has been reported several times in addition to occurring when in operation. I've yet to experience it happening when operating at this time. I've worked in the personal auto insurance industry for nearly 15 years and am quite certain this is an unacceptable manufacturer safety risk. Please recall and do the right thing here Ford. Thanks!

Then I noticed that every time I press the brakes oil shoots out from the front driver side. When I searched online I noticed that there is a similar recall for the exact same issue and same model year ford F-150, however my VIN number is not included in the recall.

During normal highway crusing, the transmission gear indicator started flashing and experienced loss of power, as if the car was in neutral causing me to decelerate. sometimes when the transmission "catches" again, it'll catch in a lower gear such as 2nd, which will cause rapid deceleration. Multiple times I've been worried about getting rear ended when this happens. This issue happens about 3 times per week. Dealership can't diagnose and I even have a video of this happening. Dealership states tranmission repairs are over 3 weeks out. Simply unnacceptable.

Without warning, the Left Front brake line ruptured while stopping with a different driver. The driver was able to avoid colliding with another vehicle at a stop light by slamming the vehicle into Park. Inspection by one of our company mechanics revealed the brake line, like the Left Front one a year prior, failed at the upper crimp. The brake line was replaced with an OEM part and the brake system bled. Vehicle mileage was 129149. After both failures, Power Ford's service department was contacted with this safety concern. They responded by stating that they had not seen any problems with late model F150 brake .lines. Our company vehicles undergo regular servicing and brake fluids are checked. This vehicle was out of warranty prior to the first failure, and warranty wasn't an issue and wasn't claimed. However, brake lines typically last much longer than five years without any problems and our company feels that this could be a major safety issue.

From reading others experiences in this model of F150, I think it was the throttle body. Coming out of a complete stop, I pressed the throttle all the way down. The truck began accelerating, then the dash started chiming, and the truck would lurch forward and back. At this point, the throttle was completely unresponsive. After getting the truck to the side of the highway, 'Service Advance Track' was on the dashboard screen, followed by 'Hill start assist not available'. The local Ford dealership looked at it, and said they fixed it. However, in the past few months it has happened 6 more times. There were no symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.

I thought my sister was tired of following behind the rig and decided to pass him in the right lane. After watching her apply the brakes several times, she moved (to the next only and right) lane and the truck kept accelerating to high speeds 70, 75, 80, 85, 90 and then to 95 miles per hour, all along she is trying to apply the brake and it is not helping but you could see the taillights lighting up. Finally about a mile down the road she was able to get the truck back in control and pulled over into the median. We are all lucky the interstate was not congested at this area at this point of time, especially my sister.

My name is [XXX]. My girlfriend and I bought a used 2016 F-150 truck back in July 2021, about 3 months earlier. We were driving yesterday (Oct 19, 2021) out from a Panera parking lot and suddenly, all we heard was a loud bang, almost like a gunshot. We did not know what it was originally so we looked around and saw the rear window had exploded into million pieces and shattered. Luckily, we did not have any pets/children/people sitting in the back, otherwise this would be a trip to the emergency room as the shatters were all over the back seat and inside the truck bed. When we came home, we looked online and found multiple incidents that this happens with the F-150 and Ford has not issued a public recall or done anything to prevent it. We called our dealer that we bought the truck from and they denied/pretended to not know what we were talking about and gave us a 3rd party to get a quote to repair the glass (which we found out it was almost $1000!) We tried and called another Ford dealer, and alas, same thing happened. They blatantly denied and pretended that they did not know or hear anything like that before, even though, if you do a quick google search, thousands of owners had had this issue! This is a safety issue and Ford needs to own it and do something about it. For us we were lucky to not transport anyone with us, otherwise I would imagine pieces of glass would be implanted in faces, eyes, bodies,...The vehicle that we were driving is in top shape and insured. The vehicle is beginning to suddenly lose power during driving as if it was shifted into neutral. This happens most days lately and is unsafe because my vehicle suddenly slows down without warning. I have full electrical and engine power, but the transmission seems to act as if I've shifted into neutral. I believe the problem to be electrical because the transmission temperature, feel, and sound are fine, and because I noticed that sometimes the gear indicator on my dashboard goes blank. It's as if the transmission loses track of what gear it is supposed to be in.

When accelerating to merge on to a major highway, my truck lost power and went into “limp mode”. This caused rapid deceleration and I was nearly rear-ended by a semi-truck with my family in my truck. I had to slow to a stop on the shoulder and shut the engine off and back on to clear the faults and drive away. Error codes: hill start assist not available, hill descent control fault, and the service wrench and “see manual”. I also received the P2112 engine error code for throttle body stuck shut. This entire sequence repeated approximately 15 times before I could get it to the dealer and I was significantly reduced in my ability to accelerate (at all speeds) until it was fixed. This is a major safety issue and needs to be recalled immediately. Throttle bodies should not fail at 60k miles. Ford replaced my throttle body and the issue was corrected.

Hello, Thank you for reviewing this issue. My 2016 F-150 would shift into neutral or 1st gear without warning, even at high speeds. This would cause the rear end to lock-up. Driving at highway speed, then it would go into neutral then into 1st then resume a higher gear. The drop to first required you to hang on, wet or slippery conditions made it dangerous. After a couple of trips to a dealer (without much help at all) and finally at an expert transmission shop (very helpful), we identified the internal transmission speed sensor and gear selection leadframe assembly failed, intermittent behavior resulted. This started about a year ago or two ago with rare and random flickering of gear selections, eventually becoming the issue described above. No codes were thrown until the problem got so severe (longer than 1 second failure) that the computer finally reported a code. The component, purchased with an entire valve assembly (because the part isn't available for 4-6 months) was replaced and the issue is gone. Feel free to call me. A stud on the driver's side exhaust manifold sheered off creating an exhaust leak and an associated noise, like a squeaky fan belt noise, from the leak. An exhaust leak of this nature could effect the emission controls of the vehicle creating additional pollution to the atmosphere, and endangering the occupants with Carbon Dioxide (CO) gas inside the truck's cabin. And, in states such as California, the vehicle could fail smog tests. There were no warning lights or messages from the system computer indicating there was an emission problem, yet, and the noise can be heard while accelerating at any speed. I drove with this problem for over 7,000 plus miles before contacting my dealer with problem, thinking it was only a belt. On August 30, 2021, I finally took it to my Ford dealer to diagnose the problem, and was quoted an estimate of over $2,100 to repair the exhaust leak. The truck was of course out of warranty and had 75,074 miles on it. I had to wait two weeks for the parts to arrive, and another week for the repair to be completed. The truck was finally repaired and returned to me on September 23, 2021. But, I was also informed, and the service order states, and I can detect, another exhaust leak coming from the passenger side of the engine from the other exhaust manifold. I haven't received an estimate yet, but I have to assume the cost will be similar. I searched the NTSB Web Site for any recalls or TSB's for this type of situation, and found similar incidents to mine, b

I just purchased the vehicle, used, from Lithia Hyundai in Fresno, CA, two months ago. On my first trip to the lake hauling a boat in tow haul mode my check engine light came on. As soon as I got back I took it to the Lithia Ford Dealership in Fresno, CA to get it checked as I had also purchased the extended warranty on it. They found that the Turbo needed to be replaced, which was covered under the warranty. As they were fixing the turbo they found that it also had a warped exhaust manifold and broken bolt. The warranty is refusing to cover this as they say they DO NOT cover bolts and since the bolt broke (which they claim) and caused the manifold to warp they won't cover it. In doing my research, I am finding out that this is a very common issue with the 3.5 liter ecoboost and I feel that this should become a recall item. if the exhaust were to leak into the cab, that is a definite safety hazard and should be looked into. Why are the bolts breaking, and why are so many exhaust manifolds warping in the F-150s? It is still currently in the shop and I am fighting with both the shop and the warranty to get it fixed since it should be covered under my bumper to bumper warranty.

I have a critical safety issue with the 2016 F150 truck I bought from Cavalier Ford, Chesapeake VA. The issue is the 6R80 automatic transmission unexpectedly changes gears while driving. In my case the truck down shifted from high gear to low gear on the interstate while driving about 70 miles per hour. I was fortunate no other cars were near me. My truck almost came to a stop, no brake lights displayed. This occurred the week on Jul 6 2021. It has occurred multiple times since than as well. I had the battery checked, showed bad, and bought a new one Jul 9th. I also had the "Check Engine" light scanned at Autozone. It revealed codes P0706/707, ie Range Sensor inside the transmission. I called Cavalier for an appt (Aug 11th almost a month away!!!), informed it would be $140 for a diagnostic!! It was free at Autozone. I also had another free scan done at Logan's Auto repair on Jul 22nd, having codes P0702/705/706/707/1921, all pointing to the Range sensor in the tranny. I spoke with Cavalier representative Nicole on Jul 16th, no help, and also left Service Mgr. Cathy Hunt. a voicemail on Jul 23rd explaining my dilemma. She has not returned my call. My status now, I have a 2016 F150 Ford truck, I urgently need to work and daily errands, ie Grandkids. There was a recall on this issue on the 2011/12 F150s. How come not now, its a major safety issue, and I see a lot of these trucks around. I wanted to convey this to Ms Hunt. Summary...the motor in this truck blew up at approx 39000

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
