2018 Chrysler Pacifica complaints

Loud creaking noise (and sometimes what sounds like a spring) coming from the front passenger side suspension. At first this happened when the vehicle was backing up with the steering wheel turned and locked to the left. It's now extended to while braking. I know prior models were recalled for bad lower control arm ball joints. My vehicle didn’t fall in that window, but this vehicle should be included in that recall (v15 recall)

1. The battery for the auto start/stop system has been dead (since a week after my warranty expired). The Start/Stop warning light has been on ever since. 2. The side sliding doors on both sides are temperamental. It takes a few tries to make them stay closed. 3. The button on the outside front door handle no longer functions when I push it to lock the doors. I can lock from the FOB or from the inside of the car.

The transmission shifts very hard. Extremely hard. On two occasions, vehicle has lost power and had to merge through Atlanta traffic to the shoulder. Extremely dangerous. We’ve taken it to the dealership service department both times and no one can find anything wrong. No recalls. We love this vehicle but are being forced to buy another brand. This is the 2nd Chrysler product that has let us down.

1.The circulation fan makes very loud noise when driving. The vehicle has only been driven for 18000 miles. 2.The vehicle front right side has a gap and lot of leaves were blown into vehicle under the front cover and it may cause fire since that part is extremely hot.

2018 Pacifica Touring L Plus. Approximately 33,750 miles. Engine compartment fire. Cause UNKNOWN. Vehicle was parked with engine / ignition off and directly after a brief warm-up and approximate 5 mile drive. Returned to vehicle after approximately 10 minutes in store. Noticed odd, but faint smell and assumed was from adjacent, running vehicle. Started engine and reversed from parking spot. While proceeding to parking lot exit, smell became more pronounced and seemed electrical in nature. Quickly parked again at outer perimeter of adjacent store lot and away from other parked vehicles. Released hood latch, and exited vehicle. Lifted hood to find grey smoke throughout engine compartment and flames in lower LH (my right) engine compartment. Closed hood and removed my dog from vehicle while calling 911. Police and fire arrived in under 5 minutes. Fire department cut hood and grill to bypass latch and extinguished the fire. No injuries to report. The outcome could have easily been different, including loss of life, if the fire intensified while I was still in store. Loss of life, serious injury, and / or significant property damage if parked in garage, structure, or still surrounded by other vehicles. Fire contained within engine compartment. No functioning electrical. Windshield cracked & various front-end damage. Smoke in vehicle interior, ducting, and personal contents. Water damage from extinguishing. Vehicle randomly loses all steering power and van completely shuts off while in motion. Has happened twice now without warning. Won't start up til vehicle is in park and has stalled for a minute.. Could be potentially very dangerous on a highway or busy intersection. I have owned this vehicle for less than 1 year. According to consumerreport.org certain pacificas years 2017-2019 had this same issue back in 2019 and approximately 150,000 were recalled at the time. However, currently there is no open recall active. Reference NHTSA campaign number:19V348 Reference FCA recall number:V53

The drivers side front door window spontaneously shattered while driving. It was not hit by a rock or other object. This happened again three weeks later to the drivers side rear door window that I will report in a separate incident.

2018 Pacific Vas (limited edition) has 51,000 miles on it. For the past two weeks the van has experienced loss of power steer on multiple occasions and it will last for just a few seconds to a few miles. If I shut the vehicle off and turn it back on that generally solves it. The loss of power steer has happened at an idle to up to 60 plus miles per hour. Online research shows a recall for this specific issue however, when I enter my VIN my van is not affected. I have also had other issues with the van such as third row getting locked up, passenger door not opening, stop/start feature not working, van says "pull over vehicle will stop soon".

The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated he was unable to start the vehicle. The contact stated that the check engine, brakes, and steering fault warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 16,342. Consumer stated VIN number is not included in the recall V53.

We purchased our 2018 Chrysler Pacifica used in 2019. In 2021 we started having issues with the rear left passenger sliding door. It will randomly open and close on it's own. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 times before it will latch. It has never opened while moving but just randomly when getting in or out. Then in late 2021 the vehicle started having random "stall out" moments. It has happened 7 times now. It started when we were driving and we noticed its mainly when accelerating. The vehicle will stall out for a good 5-15 seconds. Occasionally dropping from 70mph (on the interstate) to 35 mph in seconds. This is super dangerous and a huge safety hazard. We stopped driving on the interstate and it would seem to do it most when it was being accelerated at a light change. Again, very scary moments. The vehicle will have lights begin to flash on the dashboard, etc. We have had it at the dealership 3 times now and have spent countless money on "fixing" different things that it could be, but every time we drive it home within a day or so the incidents happen again.

Car started using a lot of coolant, mechanic says its a blown head gasket and due to coolant washing the cylinders will be a new engine needed. Vehicle has 73,000 miles, pretty low for such a significant failure.

Spontaneous fire originating under hood - unknown cause - possibly related to electrical or starting system as vehicle had difficulty starting a few minutes prior to the fire. Smoke began coming out from under hood while at stop light with engine running. Service auto stop start light was on, so was not active. Smoke then began coming into the cabin through air vents as vehicle left intersection, then flames started coming out from hood as vehicle pulled over. Driver egressed as flames spread. Fire department extinguished fire after it had damaged much of the vehicle and completely consumed the front end.

Check engine light p0305 misfire cylinder 5. Found head gasket leaking coolant into cylinder.

Vehicle would not start and would not move out of "run" position so I could not turn it off. Multiple warning lights and messages appeared including service transmission, service shifter, vehicle not in park, also shifter lights would not come on. Could not jump start it. Eventually had to disconnect the battery and then reconnect to get it started. This is not the first time this has happened, though the first time it was stuck in the run position where I couldn't even turn it off. Shifter has already been replaced once after the first time this has happened. Auxiliary battery has also been replaced prior to this latest incident. Dealership has no idea what is wrong. I did see a prior recall that had supposedly been done regarding battery grounding, but this makes me question the work. Safety issue because I could not get the car out of the run position and it was in my garage. Also, when I did get it running, it would not go into reverse. I had to drive forward a little in my garage and then put it in reverse which worked.

My vehicles power sliding doors on the right side of the vehicle will not open using the controls on the door itself or the handle. They will open using the key fob, or from the control panel accessible to the driver on front of the vehicle. Once opened form the front panel or key fob, the door controls become responsive again (the electric controls or door handle will close the door), until the door closes, at which point they will not open it. I understand there is a technical bulletin for the door, and the the dealership will flash upgrade the controller to resolve intermittent door not working issues, however this could prevent the passenger on that side of the vehicle from evacuating in the case of an emergency, which could elevate it to a safety issue.

Minivan has 59,194 miles. While driving home the power steering stopped working. It lasted a a second or two and a message displayed something about power steering unavailable. Then it started working normal, but a few minutes later it happened again - lasting a second or two. The first time was on the highway - second time on secondary roads at 55 MPH. VERY scary. The steering wheel was unresponsive - I wasn't expecting the loss of movement. Didn't dare drive it the next day. Took it to a local mechanic, but they were not able to find anything - stated it matched the description of the recall for steering issues - but my minivan wasn't part of the recall.

TRANSMISSION REPLACED NOVEMBER I BELIEVE OF 2020. EVER SINCE THEN I HAVE BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH COOLANT CONCERNS (LOW COOLANT LEVELS, BUBBLING NOISES). HAVE HAD 3 AUX BATTERIES INSTALLED IN A YEAR. NOW AUTO START STOP LIGHT HAVE BEEN ON AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GIVING MISFIRE CODES. WAS FINALLY INFORMED AFTER FORCING THEM TO TAKE ANOTHER LOOK AFTER MY PACIFIC KEPT SHAKING AND THEN STALLING WHILE MOVING, THAT THERE IS A COOLANT LEAK ON/IN A HEAD GASKET CAUSING COOLANT TO LEAK EVERYWHERE, IN TURN CAUSING THE MISFIRE. HAVE GOTTEN THE RUN AROUND FROM THE DEALERSHIP, NOW THEY FINALLY LISTENED TO ME AND MY CONCERN AFTER THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. NOW ASKING FOR $4100 JUST TO REMOVE THE ENGINE, NOT EVEN TO FIX THE ISSUE.

I was driving 10 days ago on a 75mph highway and suddenly a red light pops up in the dashboard and the steering wheel got really stiff and I could not move it, only about a 1/2” to each side. It lasted around 1 minute but seemed forever as I felt I was in a very dangerous situation since I had trucks behind me and I had to lower my velocity, while shaking and fearing for my life. I never got the opportunity to read exactly what the dashboard said. After that, everything seemed “well” for up to yesterday (one week after first incident). I was driving a 40mph road and it happened again. This time I was able to read the message that said “power steering unavailable” even though it disappeared really fast. This incident only lasted around 30 seconds, but put me in a really dangerous situation once again, because an SUV was about to hit me since I could not turn the curve of the road. I fear for my life and the life of my 3 children if I use my Pacifica again. That same day I called for service at my local Chrysler so that they could help with this very dangerous issue and they did not give me an appointment until 2 weeks from that day. They mentioned they hadn't had a client with this issue before, so I don’t know what’s going on but this is a threat to my families safety. Please help!! P.s. I googled this issue and read that there had been issues and had been recalled but I never recieved a recall for my vehicle as I should’ve. I will add photo of this article.

Blown Head Gasket with on 70,000 miles. This is a vehicle for moving young families and could have been stranded in the middle of nowhere. Chrysler Care told me I was 10K miles out of warranty and would not extend good will fix because I was not original purchaser. But they were the original manufacturer! Don't buy Chrysler.

There is a very loud creaking noise coming from the front driver side suspension. This happens every time when I put the vehicle in reverse and turn and lock my steering wheel all the way to the right and press the accelerator to back up. It doesn’t sound safe. I know prior models were recalled for bad lower control arm ball joints. My vehicle didn’t fall in that window, but this vehicle should be included in that recall (v15 recall).

The problem occurring on the vehicle is the inability of the vehicle to start despite the battery being fully charged. A little red dot 🔴 appeared on the instrument panel upon starting vehicle the day prior to incident. The day of the incident the vehicle wouldn’t turn over and the check engine light had come on. Upon calling AAA the vehicle had been jumped and started up fine. Next morning vehicle would not start and had to be jumped again. AAA was called again and they checked the battery and it was good. They felt there was a problem with the relay system. Also to be noted, the battery for the auto start/stop system is currently dead; dealership said it wouldn’t cause any problems If it wasn’t replaced. The battery for the key fob had been replaced a few months prior to this incident. Vehicle can be available for inspection. My family runs the risk of being stranded if the problem persists.

While driving the van suddenly stops and the engine cuts out-this has been accompanied by multiple dashboard warning lights going on and off. The steering wheel also locks up when this happens. The van shows that it is still in run mode but will not move until it is turned off completely and then restarted. This has occurred while in traffic driving at normal speeds as well as when turning. In these instances I had my kids in the vehicle with me. Following one incident the vehicle would not restart for about 2-3 minutes. When attempting to start the dashboard lights and interior lights would flash on and off and then stop. I have taken it to an independent repair shop that was unable to correct any issues due to proprietary Chrysler programming. My local Chrysler dealership told me that they could not replicate the issue. I have also had issues with the side and rear power doors opening part way and then closing and vice versa. This incidents have occurred while the vehicle was running but not in motion. The local dealership did diagnose an electrical issues with the rear folding seats that was caused from a programming bug that they indicate was fixed. All of these issues have occurred multiple times and every time I am told that it could not be replicated so there was nothing to be done. Currently the van is not operational as it will not start, when attempting to start ALL the lights (internal and external) flash on and off, the vehicle indicates that it is in run mode but

I was driving down the road and on a 8 lane road I came to a stop light. At the stop light my Van shut down and would not restart or turn back on. I was dead in the road with kids in the car almost getting hit from behind. I have video of the incident.

When applying pressure to brake short, the pedal pushes up and back at driver forcing vehicle not to stop. Research shows this is a common problem with this minivan's brake booster. Parts backordered for months.

Vehicle stops in the middle off traffic. Engine will start but car will not move. Numerous warning lights appear such as:vehicle not in park (it is in park), rear brake assist unavailable, shift to P then desired gear, service electronic stability control, park brake temporarily unavailable. The vehicle accelerator pedal can be floured and the RPM is only 1500. After tow trick delivers me home, the vehicle will miraculously drive unimpeded for days and weeks until the very same thing happens. Repair facilities have said they can find nothing wrong/cannot duplicate.

Vehicle caught on fire under the engine on the passenger side. It was contained within the engine compartment. I smelled smoke and thought it was from outside. Not seeing any haze outside I check my vehicle indications and all were normal. When I stopped to wait to make a left turn that’s when I saw the smoke and pulled over. Police and fire put out the flames. The car is currently in the shop being repaired and nobody can tell me why it happened but they are repairing it. I’m concerned for the safety of my family.

While driving the steering locks up and a message comes on that says power steering unavailable. It does not happen every time but lately it has been more frequent. This prevents me from steering and I have to try to pull off the road to shut the vehicle off and restart it. It is difficult to steer on a curve when your steering is locked up. This has happened at various speeds.

The upper control arms bushings needed replaced due to a popping noise from the wheel any time I turned. You then could feel the pop under your feet when you turn. We got them fixed, but now it has started popping again just 2 weeks later. There is now a rattling/clanging noise coming from the feet area when you hit a bump. It’s pretty loud at times and you can feel vibrating in the steering wheel. I feel very unsafe with my two children being in the car and traveling around town. The auto start stop battery has also been replaced many times. It keeps going out and will make my car turn off while driving at times.

This vehicle comes equipped with Stow N Go middle seats. It is a useful feature for sure. However, upon placing one of the seats back into its locked position, the headrest would no longer stay locked in its upright position. Upon taking the headrest apart to try to fix the issue, I found a very cheap plastic mechanism inside that had snapped. This very flimsy plastic piece is very much liable to fail in an accident, and cause the headrest to flop forward and not provide the support required.

2018 Chrysler Pacifica stalled while making a turn in an intersection. Dash message said something like put in park and hit stop/start and the D on the shifter was flashing

On numerous occasions the van has lost brake function. I can slowly be coming to a stop and press brakes all the way to the floor and I'm still coasting. So dangerous and scary. There is a hissing sound LIKE as If air pressure is building up in the brake line which is pushing against my foot is on the brake pedal, allowing the vehicle to move slowly when it should be stopped. As a mom of 3, I feel very unsafe I took it to the dealership and 2 other people and no one can't find what is wrong. I feel very unsafe.

Transmission doesn’t shift properly. Highway going normal speeds, switch lanes and when pushing gas peddle, it instead slipped and decreased speeds almost causing an accident. Dealership says nothing is wrong. Eco start stop illuminated and front collision warning light also on.

At least daily it shifts hard. My foot would be off the gas and it will shift up. I have gone to the dealer to get it "fixed". They did a software update. It was fixed for a few days and started up again. The car only has 30K miles on it. Shouldn't be having these issues. There's no approx date. It's ongoing since I took over car from my father on 2/26/2020

The first thing I would like to address is the shutdown system eco feature has shutdown out of nowhere. An A indicator light is on dash, along with my check engine light. In addition, when I turn the vehicle on the RPM go sky high for about 45 seconds before it adjust to proper rpms. I also believe there are major electrical issue going on with the vehicle. My power doors, and rear door won’t open and the lights in the minivan flicker when the vehicle starts. I am worried this is my only family means for transportation. I have only had this vehicle for a little over a year.

The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while attempting to park the vehicle, the back over prevention camera failed to display an image on the screen. The contact also stated that the rearview image would remain on the radio display. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with the radio software needing to be updated. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was relating the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 19V886000 (Back Over Prevention, Equipment). The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and informed the contact that the part was not yet available. The failure mileage was approximately 800.

We purchased the vehicle new from an out-of-state dealership (Ewald Chrysler Jeep Dodge LLC in Franklin, WI) in November 2019. Since that purchase, we have suffered four (4) failure events in which the vehicle completely loses power while driving, having experienced the first failure event just 10 months after purchase at approximately 15,000 miles. In each instance, the vehicle will, without warning and while in motion, power off and cease to move under its own power, illuminate a check engine light (CEL), and display a ‘Shift to P to Start’ message on the console. In every instance, the complete loss of driveability has required immediate and urgent action to move our vehicle out of lanes of travel and onto the shoulder. In all but one instance, the vehicle fails to restart without significant intervention (e.g., towing to the dealership) and has left our family stranded. To facilitate repairs, we have shared CEL event logging, a video, and photos with the below-listed dealerships. To date, the dealership states that they are unsure as to the cause of the failures and can not find any obvious issue requiring repair beyond the P0C0E code that is stored in the vehicle's ECM. Our vehicle has been in for repair on the following dates for this recurrent failure: August 3, 2020 (15,900 mi): died while driving, serviced at Larry Miller Chrysler Jeep Avondale August 7, 2020 (15,978 mi): died while driving, serviced at Chapman Dodge Chrysler Jeep June 30, 2021 (33,863): died while d

We are travelling on the freeway and suddenly the electronic stability control kept on flashing. This just happened two days ago and until now we have this message in the car. Also about a year ago we are driving on the freeway and suddenly the car stopped and could not start. This problem kept on happening.

After stopping at a stop sign, I turned right to go with traffic, It seemed as though the transmission quit responding at all for several seconds. Fortunately, I was turning to the right. Scary.

I was driving about 45MPH, slowed up to a green traffic light, turned right and accelerated. The car lost power for about 5 seconds, then came back on after I had pulled to the side. We brought it in for service, but Chrysler could not duplicate or diagnose the issue. Then, twice, my wife was stopped at a stop sign or traffic light. She got a green left arrow, accelerated into her turn, and the car lost power, then resumed after about 3-5 seconds each time. After her second occurrence, my wife drove it straight to the dealership, got the service advisor to drive the vehicle with her, he turned right into another dealership, and the car lost power for 3 seconds. Again, Chrysler was unable to diagnose and repair the problem.

The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica equipped with Kumho Solus Tire Size: 235/65R17, DOT Number: 275AYAY1. On three separate occasions while driving at various speeds, the contact's steering wheel would shake without warning as one of his tires would become defective. The contact had initially taken the vehicle to a dealer where they replaced the rear passenger side tire due to an internal band failure. The second time, the same failure occurred with the rear driver side tire as an independent mechanic replaced that tire. Soon after the second replacement, the front passenger side tire also experienced that same failure. The contact then decided to replace all four tires. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. All tires were replaced. Each tire that failed were original tires.The tire and vehicle failure mileage was approximately 30,000.

Car started and the shifting knob got stuck in nuetral this isn't the the first time this has happened . No mater what I tried it wouldn't budge had to the dealer twice about it they said they needed to order a part. They are in northeast Ohio Right now I am 200 miles from home on a Sunday . And hope a local dealer has the part This van has been a disappointment to say the least.

Sliding door shuts, beeps and reopens. we have to hit the button 3-5 times before it shuts. Back up camera flashes blue and does not work. Aux battery keeps going dead and the auto start stop quits working. I just had to spend 1000 to fix all the issues. after seeing other comments this seems to be quite a problem with a lot of these vans.

WE BOUGHT THE CHRYSLER VAN NEW IN 2018. ONE YEAR (~10,000 MILES) LATER, THE VAN DEVELOPED ROUGH UPSHIFTING. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME BUT IT OCCASIONALLY BANGS INTO GEAR VERY VIOLENTLY UNDER SLOW ACCELERATION AT 30 - 35 MPH. WE TOOK THE VAN TO CHRYSLER MECHANICS BUT THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE ROUGH SHIFT SO THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. EVERY TIME IT HAPPENS, IT SCARES ME TO DEATH. IT FEELS LIKE A SLEDGEHAMMER HIT THE VAN!

I WAS STOPPED AT LIGHT GOING STRAIGHT AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I PRESSED ON THE GAS PEDAL BUT THE VAN WOULDN'T MOVE AS IT HAD STALLED OUT. THE SHIFT KNOB WAS STUCK ON DRIVE WHICH STARTED BLINKING AND THE START/STOP WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND TRIED TO RESTART IT BUT IT STILL FAILED TO MOVE. I TRIED TO RESTART IT A SECOND TIME AND THIS TIME IT DID START TO MOVE. EXTREMELY INCONVENIENT AND UNSAFE WHEN STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. ALSO HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE LEFT PASSENGER REAR DOOR CONTINOUSLY OPENING BACK UP AFTER TRYING TO CLOSE IT. NOTHING IS IN THE WAY OF THE DOOR WHICH I HAD CONFIRMED MULTIPLE TIMES SO I'M NOT SURE IF SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE SENSOR OR IF IT'S PART OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILING.

THIS VEHICLE WITH UNSAFE DEADLY DRIVING CONDITIONS BEGAN AS A NEW VEHICLE AT AROUND 1300 MILES. ACCELERATION OF CHRYSLER PACIFICA WHILE DRIVING AT 55 TO 75 MILES PER HOUR WITH THE ENGINE OF VEHICLE DOES NOT SLOW DOWN BUT STAYS STUCK AND DOES NOT SLOW DOWN AND REMAINS AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. DOCUMENTED OVER 350 INCIDENTS OF THIS SUBJECT PACIFICA FOR 3 YEARS. OFTEN, I COULD NOT STOP THE ENGINE FROM RACING AT ITS HIGHEST RATE OF SPEED WHILE ON FREEWAYS AND OTHER ROADS. THIS VEHICLES ENGINE DOES NOT SLOW DOWN AND BEGIN FORCED PUMPING OF BRAKES MAKING THE VEHICLE RISE IN HEIGHT AND.. II COULD NOT STOP THIS PACIFICA ENGINE FROM SHUTDOWN RACING ENGINE UNTIL I PLACE THE SHIFT MECHANISM IN NEUTRAL TO SLOW IT DOWN AND KEEP IN FROM CRASHING INTO A FORWARD VEHCILE OBJECT. THE ENGINE GETS STUCK IN ITS FORMER HIGHEST RATE OF SPEED FOR 30 TO 45 SECONDS.ON A GOOD NUMBER OF OCCASIONS I HAVE TAKEN THIS SUBJECT VEHICLE TO RAY LATHEM DEALERSHIP IN DETROIT, MICHIGAN. THE DEALERSHIP PUT THOUSANDS OF MILES ON MY LEASED VEHICLE AND STATED THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT THE SAFETY STUCK ACCELERATION PROBLEM WAS. CHRYSLER WOULD NOT ACKNOWLEDGE ANY SAFETY ACCELERATION PROBLEMS AND I HAD MY VEHICLE TESTED BY SOFTWARE ENGINEERS AND THEY ADVISED ME THAT THE AFOREMENTIONED CHRYSLER PACIFICA HAS DEFECTIVE UT MODULES, POWERTRAIN CONTROL PCM REPROGRAM MODULE POWERTRAIN CONTROL. THIS PACIFICA ENGINE CONTINUED TO STICK CAUSING THE ENGINE TO RACE A ITS FORMER HIGHEST RATE OF SPPED OF 55 OR 70 MILES PER HOUR. DURING WIN

DRIVER SIDE DOOR CONSTANTLY OPENS. I HIT THE BUTTON TO CLOSE AND IT OPENS RIGHT BACK UP. MY DAUGHTERS CAR SEAT IS RIGHT THERE, SO WHEN I GO TO PUT HER IN HER CAR SEAT SAY WHILE IT'S RAINING OR SNOWING AND I HIT IT TO CLOSE TO WALK AWAY, BAM IT'S RIGHT BACK OPEN. IT NEVER STAYS SHUT. IT TAKES ME 5 TIMES TO FINALLY SHUT MY DOOR. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. ANYTIME THE VAN IS RUNNING OR OFF IT DOES THIS.

MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE STATIONARY WHEN STARTING THE CAR, THE PUSH BUTTON STARTER WILL FAIL TO START THE ENGINE. UPON SECOND ATTEMPT TO START THE CAR THE STARTER HAS A PROLONGED SERIES OF CRANKS AND FINALLY STARTS. THE CONCERN IS THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AFTER JUST PURCHASING THE CAR. THIS COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE IF IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING, AND ENGINE SHUTS OFF, OR COULD STRAND US WITHOUT THE THE ABILITY TO START THE CAR.

I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT AT 40MPH. THE ENGINE TURNED OFF, BUT ELECTRICAL MAINTAINED. AFTER A COUPLE HUNDRED FEET THE ENGINE CAME BACK ON. WITHOUT PUSHING ON THE GAS THE ENGINE ACCELERATED THE CAR OVER A SHORT DISTANCE, BREAK WAS INPUTTED AND FULL CONTROL WAS RESTORED TO THE PHYSICAL. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, BUT NOTHING WAS DONE AS THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES.
