I purchased this car a yr ago and have complained about the transmission since the beginning along with oil issues and power issues. They refused to fix it. The car downshifts and throws itself forward and it's almost caused numerous accidents. There's times the car will not go forward and when you hit the gas a little it revs and shoots forward. It's very unsafe and I can't even drive it. I'm paying for a car that's very unsafe
Was in an accident and airbags did not deploy but the other driver who hit me,hers did
Multiple times, regardless of repairs done. The transmission keeps hard shifting in and out of 5th gear. One time to the point where I couldn't shifts gears (stuck in 4th) and was stuck at speeds under 45 mph on a busy freeway.
The contact's friend owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and when coming to a stop at a stop signal, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that after several attempts, the vehicle restarted. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 215,000.
When in park with engine running indicator comes on and says put car into park before it rolls. Look down and see it shifted into neutral. Always after putting in park I have to engage my emergency brake to make sure it does not roll. Very sluggish when put into drive. Tells me to service transmission and this all started in September. Took it to a repair shop called Xtreme auto repair and was told it has a six page recall on the problem with my transmission. Emailed Chrysler headquarters and they said there was nothing they could do cause the warranty expired. Yes it expired back in 2020 and the problem just started in September of 2022. Was told “ so sorry I am having a bad customer day”. Bought the car used in October 2017. I fear for my life and others as well if something should happen while driving.
At 130,000 miles a oil leak became very noticeable. The rear main oil seal was destroyed. Due to the oil leak the front belly pan(68102931ab) became a dangerous hazard. The front belly pan became completely soaked in oil and was dragging under the car. Once the car was taken apart by the tech it was discovered that the oil cooling house (68105583af) was cracked.
Car stalls when starting from a stop. If the outside air temperature is below 50 degrees F, it seems worse. There are no warning lights, no codes...it just stalls out. It will usually start after trying once (It takes at least 20-30 seconds of trying to start before it does). I was pulling from a redlight to a 4 lane road when it stalled. I had no where to go. When I first purchased the car, I took it to the dealership 3 times, they said it was a transmission problem at first, then spark plugs, and the third time they couldn't find anything. September 30th was the last time this has happened, but not the first. If I start the car 15 minutes before driving, it doesn't seem as bad
Misfire on #6 cylinder only has 85,000 miles. Mechanic said my engine needs to be replace with new engine
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that the check engine, ABS, traction control, and air bag warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was repaired; however, the contact stated that while reversing into the parking lot, she heard a rattling noise under the hood of the vehicle. The contact also stated that while driving over any small bumps in the roadway, the engine felt like as if it would fall out of the vehicle. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the shock and strut assembly, suspension strut, transmission, and motor mounts needed to be replaced. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed of a manufacturer Recall: W84 (Power Train Software Update). The failure mileage was 93,662.
My service airbag light came on on Dash and I ran the code it says airbag circuit is open.
The car shuts off while driving. The screen says "Shift to P to start". This happens randomly, without any warning, in traffic. It started a little over two weeks ago, and it is getting worse. It was happening every few days, but now it happens every day, multiple times a day.
While driving vehicle lost power and began to show service transmission and park brake check signs. Vehicle lost power and was lucky we weren't rear ended on the road by the Cars behind or cause an accident. Looking at this is year there are several complaints with the same issue. Car only has 33k miles and is having transmission issues.

The car would shut off while driving i was on the interstate the first 2 time when it happened no warning would just shut down then battery light would flash when i would try to start it occurred multiple time starting 7.26.22 last time was 8.19.22 took to dealer after the first 3 times (one occurred on a 2 lane highway) they couldn't find what was wrong had it for 3 weeks, took it to mom and pop shop he found problem and had to replace recalled PCM the recall was done in 2016 but the part failed again
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while driving 40-55 MPH, the air bag warning light illuminated with a message indicating air bag system failure was displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who referred the contact to the dealer. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer who informed the contact that the failure was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V114000 (Air Bags, Seats) however, the vehicle needed to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Unknown. When stopped or while slow down to turn out after trarrfic is clear when I put my foot on the gas it doesn’t go, like the transmission is slipping. then after a while it allows me to put my foot on the gas and proceed driving
The touchscreen radio will not load past the chrysler symbol. It is the only way to control air vents i.e. defrost and temperature. It occasionally loads to rear backup camera view and gets stuck there driving down the highway
There have been recalls to other chrysler 200 for these reasons. I am having issues with all of these and no recall. Steering linkage or strut issue The electrical goes out on the dash and console of the car. cannot use air or any of the buttons Warning light to check gas cap Power terrain was fixed once and it came back the same way Tire pressure also not working
Lights keep popping up on the dash but disappear. No one can figure out why the car pretty much shuts down when you take go to accelerate it shudders extremely hard and doesn’t go.
I own a 2015 Chrysler 200S With 27,000 miles on it and I’m currently having the transmission completely replaced due to failure. The automotive shop that is working on the vehicle tells me that the transmission fluid is completely burnt and has metal in it. There was never any warning signs that there was a condition going on until the day that the car went in the shop and the transmission light came on. I have the car at the dealership in November 2021 and all they could tell me at the time was that this particular model car tends to shift hard When I complained to them about the issues I was having. I feel like the dealership should have looked further into the matter because now I am spending $6000 to replace the transmission.

While vehicle is in driving mode it shuts off. I complained to East Hester chrysler 3 months ago and they were unable to diagnose the issue. It was doing it at least 3x a week, now it's happening daily and it has happen on the highway 2x which was a scary moment. I need some assistance, I notified Chrysler corporation and they reported the situation and refer me to a chrysler service center. I read that there has been a recall on my vehicle for the same situation (stalling while driving) I am having my vehiclencheck now at Central Ave Chrysler to see what they find. I hope the issue can be fixed and corrected and if there is a recall for this issue please help me. Thank you
I was driving to take my vehicle to the car dealer that I bought it from and started having problems with the car. As I was driving the car started smoking really bad, and soon as I pulled into the the car dealer lot the bottom of my car was in flames. I had to hurry put the car in park jump out and grab my daughter out the car. Every since my daughter has been having really bad coughing issues. I took my car to have it looked at and checked and the dealer let me know that it was nothing they can do that they would not switch me to another car. I feel it’s unsafe and unfair for my children as well as my self to continue having to drive in and pay for a car that has caught on fire. Every since I have been having unstoppable problems with the car, from a starting issue, air bag issue, engine issue and so many more problem.
The car says service transmission while driving and automatically shuts down while still in drive you can’t put the car into any other gear and actually have to shut the car off while still in drive . The car when restarted is stuck in park . Extremely dangerous situation when traffic is directly behind you and the car just stops . Car has been taken to the nearest repair shop and I’m waiting on inspection
It’s starting up but won’t drive and light smoke come from the car overheating a lot it’s just a big mess not holding any fluids waste money trying to keep it with Fluids
The car stalls while driving. I try to restart it and it try’s to start but takes a couple try’s. This has happened 3 times in the last week or two. The battery was replaced in April 2021 and was tested yesterday and checked ok.
Ok this model has 8 recalls and I've only received one. My airbag indicator has been on for awhile now. See they have had recall for seat change. Which is my indicator picks up when i move my seat a certain way. My car drives be itsself in the acceleration. The intake is throwed. My radio just stopped working on its own FOR NO REASON. After that use to make this noise on its own even when car was off to try to come back on but it didn't. Electrical recall and whole middle console doesnt work. (Something sbout a usb update) Now my car goes dead over night and I have to jump it to start. Battery, starter and alternator is fine. This ridiculous at this point. Ive had 1recall resistly but have all these problems and see there is a total of 8. This things need fixing asap.
Let me start by saying I was in love with my 200S but lately she been acting up. 1) I was driving on multiple occasions now when I’ll hear a chim sound(Warning light with nothing laminated on the dashboard) car loses all power and shuts off completely no matter where on the freeway and surface streets 2mins later car starts up. The latest incident came a week ago when I was pulling in a drive way car shut off completely while traffic was coming almost causing a major crash (Thank God Nobody didn’t get hurt) other motorists got out to help push it to safety. There’s been multiple occasions while driving the car starts shaking bad as if it’s going to stall check engine light comes on..I pull over scan for codes nothing pops up ,I then check connectors and fluids etc unscrewed the gas cap Redo it ,car starts up I drive home safely (No more stalling feeling or bad shaking) Mechanic run diagnostics No Error codes appear . 2) Airbags senor come on and off for no reason which scares the heck out of me to drive it not knowing if they’ll actually protect me or not if I need it too. It’s been almost 2 car payments since I drove it.Due to safety fears because I travel with Kids 3) it’s hard to pick up speed when trying to accelerate My car is now at 99K miles and I have been going through these issues probably since 73K miles

I have had my 2015 Chrysler 200 for about a year now and ever since I have had it. it has acted weird. Evetime I am driving down a hill at a slow pace, i loose power as if my car just switched to Neutral. It also jerks a lot when I am stopped on a hill going up and I start to go, then it will jerk like its delayed in the gears. I am very concerned for my safety. I have seen other recalls similar to this and I am hoping we can get this one on a recall as well. I have not had my car inspected yet because I cant afford it.
The driver's knee bolster air bag deployed behind the instrument panel.
My 2015 Chrysler 200S vehicle shuts OFF while driving. Mostly when I slow down to make a turn or come to a stop sign. Others have reported a shut down while driving on the highway. Battery, alternator, transmission, belts - have all been checked as okay. I found recall information about this being a real mfg problem but I've never received a recall notice about it. I've shut down while crossing a busy street and almost got hit. I'm afraid to get it on the highway now or drive it anywhere for fear of getting stranded or causing an accident.
Thermometer malfunction When coolant temp reaches 174 degrees, thermometer bottoms out. electric throttle light comes on and l=lights saying engine HOT appear. Turn car off , wait 60 seconds turn car on and the car is fine.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and the contact was informed that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V529000 (Power Train) and the software update was completed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 153,000.
My car is not shifting correctly after the recent recall for a software update. My engine light came on the very next day. The problem happens mostly on the highway as I try to accelerate. My car runs between 3500-4500 RPMs on the highway unless I am going downhill. I have to keep letting off the gas in order for the car to shift. I am not entering the highway at a safe speed because my car will not go. I am afraid this is going to cause a wreck. I am not sure if this is along the same problem, but my remote start stopped working correctly at the same time. I can start it with the remote, but it will only stay on for about 10 seconds, this is also NOT due to being low on gas. I called the dealer about this issue but they want to charge $150 to even look at the car.
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while at a stoplight, the vehicle inadvertently moved forward. The contact had to depress the brake pedal all the way to the floorboard to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,799.
Upon taking my chrysler 2015 200 limited 2.4L in-line into BAY AREA CHRYSLER dealership to figure out why my car wasnt running correctly they it on their diagnostic they said it needed a body control module which the dealership put a new one charged me 199.20 to put it in plus the $376.35 for the module that was ordered which I paid .when I picked up my car it was parked with the ignition on and walked off with the key fob.after paying for another 200 $ for a new key fob I was told the new part didnt work.so now the center stack which controls the radio the heater /air conditioner controls screen off on selecter knob and parking brake do not work so im wondering if the electrical recall or failure of the dealership to do their job
I tried talking to Chrysler but they were no help. They have had a power failure recall but I was told that based on my vin number, didnt affect my vehicle. Intermittent power steering failure. I replaced the battery, I replace the rack and pinion and it’s still doing the same thing. $2300 down the drain. You can be driving and loose the ability to steer the vehicle. There are tons of complaints about this and they all say the same. They have replaced major parts and the issue persist. When speaking to crysler over the phone, they said that the replacement of the rack and pinion would fix the issue. Thats not true. https://www.200forums.com/threads/power-steering-failure.30529/ https://www.carproblemzoo.com/chrysler/200/power-steering-failed-problems.php https://www.carproblemzoo.com/chrysler/200/steering-rack-and-pinion-problems.phphttps://www.aboutautomobile.com/Consumer-Complaint/2015/Chrysler/200/Steering There is alot more. I have been dealing with this since August. I dont know what else to do or where to turn but this is a major safety issue and it needs to be made public and addressed .
Reading these
NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
