2013 Chrysler 200

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2012 Jeep Liberty and 2012-2013 Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger vehicles. A component within the occupant restraint controller (ORC) may fail and prevent the active headrests from deploying in the event of a rear-end crash.

Risk. If the active headrests do not deploy in certain rear-end crashes, the front seat occupants have an increased risk of injury.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ORC as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on December 4, 2017. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is T56.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2011-2014 Chrysler 200, 2010 Chrysler Sebring, 2010-2012 Dodge Caliber and 2010-2014 Jeep Patriot, Compass and Dodge Avenger vehicles. The Occupant Restraint Control (OCR) module may short circuit, preventing the frontal air bags, seat belt pretensioners, and side air bags from deploying in the event of a crash.

Risk. If the frontal air bags, seat belt pretensioners, and side air bags are disabled, there is an increased risk of injury to the vehicle occupants in the event of a vehicle crash that necessitates deployment of these safety systems.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the OCR, free of charge. Interim letters informing owners that parts are not available yet were mailed on October 26, 2016. The recall began on August 15, 2017. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S61.

Defect. Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2013 Dodge Avenger and Chrysler 200, and model year 2014 Jeep Compass and Patriot vehicles equipped with 2.4L engines. Due to abrasive debris in the balance shaft bearings, these engines may have a loss of engine oil pressure, possibly resulting in an engine stall or engine failure.

Risk. If the engine stalls while driving it may increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the engine balance shaft module, free of charge. The recall began on December 24, 2013. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753. Chrysler's recall campaign number is N52.

Defect. Chrysler is recalling certain model year 2011-2013 Sebring and 200 vehicles manufactured June 28, 2011, through December 13, 2012; model year 2011-2013 Dodge Avenger vehicles manufactured June 25, 2011, through January 14, 2013; model year 2011-2012 Dodge Nitro vehicles manufactured June 17, 2011, through December 15, 2011; and model year 2011-2012 Jeep Liberty vehicles manufactured June 17, 2011, through August 15, 2012. Electrical over-stress of a resistor in the occupant restraint control module may lead to the non-deployment of the active head restraints during a rear impact collision.

Risk. In the event of a crash necessitating the deployment of the active head restraints , their non-deployment could increase the risk of injury.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will flash the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) or replace the occupant restraint control module, as needed, free of charge. The recall began on November 19, 2013. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753. Chrysler's recall campaign number is N38.

Defect. Chrysler is recalling certain model year 2013 Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger vehicles manufactured from October 30, 2012, through November 2, 2012. These vehicles may have a gas tank that has a broken control valve in the fuel tank assembly.

Risk. A broken control valve in the fuel tank assembly may lead to an engine stall or fuel leakage. An engine stall while driving may contribute to a vehicle crash. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, may result in a fire.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the fuel tank assembly and replace any affected control valves, free of charge. The recall began on April 4, 2013. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753.

The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that the passenger side headrest deployed without warning or impact. The contact expressed concern that the driver side headrest could deploy while driving, potentially causing a crash. While researching the failure online, the contact learned that the plastic components may weaken over time due to extreme heat, causing the safety clips to crack and release. The failure mileage was approximately 147,680.

Driver's seat headrest deployed while I was driving. I cannot put it back in place because some internal plastic parts have broken off. The passenger seatbelt sensor keeps going off as if the passenger has not buckled the seat belt. The sensor on that same seat keeps going off even if there's no one sitting on that seat.

The horn will honk sporadically and will not start at times then wipers will malfunction. Had tipm looked at was told it is normal for this to go out, bad design.

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that upon entering the vehicle and closing the front driver's side door, the driver's side front seat headrest deployed inadvertently with the vehicle turned off. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there would be a charge for the headrest replacement. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.

The vehicle was taken for the annual inspection, and DTC: P0420 associated with the catalytic converter was retrieved. The contact was informed that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to several independent mechanics who confirmed a failure with the catalytic converter. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The airbag is malfunctioning with the warning sensor going on and off

Engine shuts off then restarts after you put it in park been doing it for over a year been to many mechanics but it never reads a code , head rest deployed on passenger side and will not stay when pushed back in

I own a 2013 Chrysler 200. While parked at a gas station the front driver’s headrest deployed without warning. I contacted a dealer where I was informed that the headrest needed to be replaced out of pocket. I was informed that the vehicle no longer qualified to be serviced under the recall. Mileage was around 135,000 when this occurred.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the contact was informed that the headrest needed to be replaced out of pocket. The contact was informed that the vehicle no longer qualified to be serviced under the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 97,000.

The engine stalls abruptly while driving. At the time of this writing, it has luckily stopped when the car was at lower speeds like taking a turn, in a school pickup line, idling at the traffic light. The dashboard does not flash any warning lights and the engine just shuts off abruptly. We then switch the transmission back into parking, switch the A/C off and then start the car by turning the key as usual - it starts very fine and in the first go. This has been happening since last 2 months, upon servicing the car last month the service center noted that lower A/C freon levels were causing massive strain on the A/C compressor forwarding an excessive load to the engine causing stalling to occur. However, even after restoring the freon levels the engine stalling issue still persist. A second round of extensive day-long diagnostics run by the same service station this month did not reveal any problem or root causes and we were left with no resolution. This creates a critical safety hazard for our family and general public.

The passenger side headrest deployed

I started having the oil pressure warning light come on same day after an oil change. It was a 3-hour drive, and the light will come on while my foot is on the break. Oil level was in the safe marker. Then I started feeling rumbling like I was driving a stick shift car. One major incident I was waiting for my turn at a light and when it turned green, the car was stalling but went. All of sudden it stopped and cut off and wouldn't crank back up. When it did the light was red and cars were going around me. It was running hot but started back up for me to drive home. But it I stopped it shuts off. The inside lights do a weird thing like comes on randomly while driving and it's scary at night. Also, if using the left turn signal the lights comes on. But when the car is off the radio and other controls go bright then dim. When put on a code reader many codes come up P0506, P0137, P0171, P0131, P0302

Adjusting the headrest up some and the headrest popped out and want go back in i know that it pops out durning a collision so im wondering why is it popped out now the airbag light is on

Drivers seat headrest popped open and cannot be reset. This thankfully occurred while the vehicle was stopped.

Both front headrests popped open while driving. No collision or hard breaking involved. 2 separate occasions, passenger side first then drivers side.

Headrest popped out Radio goes blank or completely then comes back on Throttle body light comes on and stalks car after being replaced 2 times Gas cap light comes on after being replaced 4 times

Active Headrest system deployed without collision on the passenger side. Could have impacted passenger and caused serious head injury. Vehicle was taken to dealer and directed me to Chryslers customer hotline. They were reluctant to do anything and were trying to put the blame on me. They said they would call back in the next 2-3 business days to examine the vehicle after much back and forth. There were no warning signs that the headrest would deploy and no prior notice from the manufacture.

Headrest exploded while my wife was driving home yesterday. It is definitely broke.
