My trailer break system light keep coming on

My power steering will not work, I cannot turn the wheel whatsoever. The first time it happened, I had to pay through insurance to have it fixed. 2 years later, it’s happening again. In both incidences, I parked my truck overnight and when I went to drive it the next day, a message came on saying power steering assist reduced. I know there is a recall for this problem. Yet the dealership tells me the steering gear needs replaced. The problem now is that there isn’t a part available.

Hello, I noticed sidewall bulging on all 4 of my cooper discoverer A/T 275/55R20. After googling I saw that a recall exists (NHTSA campaign nr:21T002000) Then I called and sent all my DOT to cooper and they said my tires are the Wall-mart special version which is not included in this recall. So I tried Wall-mart and they are not helping either (no recall exists is always their answer...) My 4 tires are the exact size and produced in the week listet in the recall 21T002000 and show the exact same issues (big bulges in sidewall which are filled with air) just the fact that it is a Discoverer A/T tire not a Discoverer A/T3 4S makes cooper tell me my tires are not in the recall. I believe there are more faulty tires out there and you should look into this since 4 out of 4 tires I have are bad. I am happy to bring my car to you guys to analyse

Rack and pinion went out, truck makes a popping noise when turning steering left and right. Also when going over bumps can hear the gears rattling from hitting each other.

The 2014 and up Chevrolet Silverado 1500 models are notorious for electrical issues and bugs, some may have been recalled but other were not included in that recall while still having the same issues, these vehicles have major electrical system issues, from bad battery cables, down to every Control Module associated with the truck, over time salt, sand, mud, moisture disrupts certain key areas of the electrical wiring harness underneath the vehicle, General Motors knows about this but fails to recall these vehicles, it creates a very serious matter when you have no traction control, or any ABS function, along with loss of power steering assist. These control systems can be life and death when they are not working!. GM needs to address these issues and recall ALL 2014+ Silverado’s and alike for these electrical issues relating to “loss of communication with the ECM, BCM, TCM, EBCM, TCCM, PSCM, etc. these are costly break downs and these modules are very expensive to just throw in and hope it fixes the issue, most dealers don’t want to trace wiring issues and will just tell the customer cannot replicate which leaves us vulnerable. Some customers state their vehicles will randomly shut off while driving, others report their truck going into “Limp home mode”. Nobody can seem to centralize a specific area where the problems are occurring but believe it has something to do with the material and the way the harness was made.

At very slow speed (under 1 mph) the steering is unmanageable to turn, even if truck stopped and its required to make a relatively sharp turn. Seems the power steering stops working & airbag warning light turns on as well as parking assist stops working. Very dangerous!! Also when the temperature is under 30°F the dash/ display screen go black when I attempt to use the side window switches

There is a complete loss of power so there is no way to start the truck. Here in North Dakota the wind chills go to fifty degrees below zero. It is life threatening when the truck won't start. Up to this point it has happened only when the vehicle is parked. The GM dealer has seen the truck, but it is a random problem and can't be "replicated" in the shop. The shop manager has seen the security symbol on the dash board and cleared it with the computer. When it happened this week in minus wind chills I called the dealer, and he suggested that I put the key in and let it sit for ten minutes! Nothing happened. When my husband caught a ride to help me, he wiggled the battery connection and the whole system turned on. The security anti theft device light had gone on while driving, but the book said to take it to a dealer!

On DECEMBER 14th 2021 while traveling on interstate 90 from Hardin Montana to Billings Montana I hit a large granite boulder that had fallen off of a semi, I had my cruise control set where I always set it at 77 mph. The boulder was around 500 lbs and was roughly 30 inches tall by 24 wide. It launched my truck in the air and I flew about 17 to 20 feet before touching down. I impacted the boulder just to the right of center of the bumper and it tore everything from the bumper to the firewall. Extremely violent impact and I hit my head on the sun visor and chin on the steering wheel. Not one of the airbags deployed. The first person on scene was Montana Highway Dept employee who was one minute behind me. He and myself as well as the responding highway patrol were shocked that the airbags did not deploy. Since that accident I have had multiple things wrong with my neck my knees as well as my hips and back. Im pretty sure Im messed up for life.

When I’m driving at slow speeds, the brakes feel real squishy and hard to stop.

In temperatures under 40 degrees the driver seat belt has trouble clicking in. You have to jiggle it about 8-10 times before it engages.

While driving down the road a service alert comes up on the dash advising "Service Trailer Brake system". This alert is extremely distracting and will not go away while hitting the "dismiss" button. To my knowledge the trailer brake system on this vehicle has never been used. GM shoukd take full responsibility of this problem and issue a recall. Failure to do so could result in future vehicle accidents from people being distracted from this obnoxious alarm from a faulty part. I would supply a picture or video of the alarm but using my camera while driving would only add to the already present danders associated with this issue. Thanks for your time.

Friday November 26th after having hit a deer, my truck quit entirely. Transmission Would Shudder, and Rattle, then not engage, causing engine to Die during several attempts. I had to have the truck towed 3 times just to get it to where I could have the issue diagnosed. Gateway Transmission quoted $4200 minimum on repairs including Torque Convertor, Drive Shaft (replace w Steel not orig. alum). The repairs are completed, which now totaled $ 6,374.84 paid out of pocket. I have been without a vehicle for 60 Days. The Transmission Coolant Lines also had to be replaced. No GM notification has been received. Multiple Complaints found re same issue. I AM DEAF Phone included is a voice contact family member.

My truck loss of electric power steering it shuts off especially during low speed turning maneuvers. Lost and then returns then might lose temporary control of the steering wheel, increasing the risk of a crash. I have made an appointment at my dealership .

Brake vacuum pump is failing creating an unsafe condition while braking when the vehicle is in a low RPM range. I had a close call while backing down a sloping driveway at my home in which it was almost impossible to stop the vehicle. The pedal provided a lot of resistance but the vehicles braking power was greatly reduced. Ultimately I had to use all my strength on the pedal for the vehicle to stop. After continual issues, I am in the process of getting the vehicle repaired. Thank goodness this didn’t occur while backing a boat into the water. I have not been able to use a boat for fear of ending up in the lake.

I started my truck remotely, when I got into my truck the back windshield broke. GM has a customer satisfaction program (N192265660). My vehicle is not covered, GM advised me to file a complaint to get my vehicle covered under the same program.

Brakes seem to sputter/skip when applying when traveling above 40 mph. I had an inspection done with Brake Masters. They inspected brake pads, rotors and performed a road test. They stated Brakes pads and rotors were still good about another year left. They did say brakes sputtered at about 40 mph and over. They thought it could be issue with brake vacuum system Thanks

I have a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 which the "O2 Sensors" are going out and causes my truck to run rich and lose horsepower. My truck does burn more fumes from the exhaust causing bad pollution in the air. Can type of action this be considered as a recall.

While driving today, the power steering stopped working while trying to turn at the traffic light. I had to go straight and park the truck on the side of the street. The warning light came on while this happened, stating “steering assist is reduced, drive with care”. Taking to dealership tomorrow morning.

The brakes have a hard pedal with no brakes at low speed . In reverse have to apply lots of pressure to brake pedal, and this does not always work. I read there is a recall. I want to get repaired before an accident occurs. This is on going, not just the date below.

Started it this morning with remote start (not after market) to warm it up and when i went out there the cab was full of smoke and the back window was glowing red with flames emerging. I extinguished fire and turned it off and the back window shattered.

I believe my 2014 silverado has a recall for the vacuum brake pump. I just purchased the truck a month ago And I noticed when I take off in drive or reverse and hit the brake pedal it doesn’t want to move and becomes stiff. It has almost caused me to have 2 accidents now. After doing research and looking things up I have come to know there as a recall on these trucks for the vacuum brake pump and I don’t think this truck has ever been fixed for it. I would like to get this fixed before it causes an accident.

My vehicle's headlamps are so dull I can't see at night. I contacted GM and they offered to replace them if I would pay half the cost , which I was going to do , but I had a heart attack and surgery & was in intensive care for almost a month. When I became able to come home , after I missed my appointment due to this situation , I contacted GM and they said they were not going to help me because I didn't have it done in time. My vehicle is always parked in a garage and well kept. The headlamps are VERY dull and dangerous to drive at night. I would like Gm to replace them as I believe this is a manufacture's defect. I was a GM Dealer for several years and don't believe this is their usual practice , giving them the benefit of the doubt. These are dangerous as I can't see at night and oncoming traffic can't see me either clearly. Please help me. This is DANGEROUS!

The transmission is throwing codes for selanoids and I've gone online and seems there's millions out there with the same problem in these chevrolet vehicles.

When stopping at slow speeds in stop and go traffic my abs would kick on and the power breaks would not work and I would need to press the break pedal very hard to stop. Only seems to happen in stop and go traffic at slow speeds but it's super scarey.

Remoted started truck to defrost windows, driver side backglass made a loud bang sound and shattered.

In the last few weeks I have been losing power steering and yesterday when I was on the road from school with my children I completely lost control of the steering wheel that did not let me turn

I was buckling my seatbelt and the cable connecting the lap belt end to the seat base broke. The failure was at the top end of the cable where the cable is swedged into a bracket. From my inspection of the cable, it looked like a fatigue type failure of the cable at the point the flexure was stopped by the end connection.

I purchased vehicle new 12/2013 and have had the vehicle to Chevy dealer after purchase due to hard downshifts and banging in transmission on shifting. Dealer claimed condition was a normal condition and would do nothing to remedy. This shifting condition stayed the same until the following event. 10/19/2021 driving northbound on I75 in Michigan at 75mph vehicle starts jerking and banging and starts losing speed. Tachometer is bouncing up and down between 1800-2300 rpm, transmission temp was 270 degrees. Vehicle is having transmission failure. I put transmission in manual mode and used 4th gear at 45 mph to limp into my destination. It was pitch dark, raining and very hard to see and I was concerned of being rear ended if I pulled off the side of the road and waited for a wrecker. The next day I drove the vehicle to a transmission shop, again using M4 to limp in as my brother in law followed behind with his emergency flashers on to alert others of a slow moving vehicle. The independent transmission shop inspected my vehicle and determined the torque converter failed and contaiminated the transmission, lines and cooler with metal shavings. They also commented they see several of these vehicles for the same problem, it's common issue they said. Mileage at failure was 124780. They rebuilt the transmission, replaced the torque converter and flushed the lines and cooler at a cost of 2755.00. GM should be held responsible to reimburse owners of these vehicles as they knew of these

Truck has rough breaking at low speeds. It’s due to the break pump recall on this make, year and model. The break pump also makes a clicking sound when engine is running. Common in these trucks.

I have a 21014 Chevy K1500 Silverado ([XXX]). In 2019 the vehicle started having issues: Steering system started “fighting” me. When at very low speeds (trying to navigate slow turns as in a parking lot or stopped and starting a turn) the steering system would go back the opposite direction so hard that it would almost pull a muscle in my arm, seemingly wanting to go back to top dead center. Other symptoms of the situation include hot temperatures (90+), Radio on, Air Cond. on, Low speed or stopped, voltage seems low. This had happened many many times to me, to the point that one; I could predict when it would happen, such as making a left turn across traffic at an intersection or parking lot, and two; I would not let anyone else drive the vehicle, because it was a safety issue. I have a video of the issue as I was backing into my garage. Could drive to the store and after a short period in the store attempt to start the vehicle, but the truck acted like it was dead. I would remove the positive cable from the battery for about 10 seconds and put it back and the truck would start. Symptoms of the situation: hot temperatures (90+). This happened several times. I took the truck to Hubler Chevrolet, who told me that a power cable from the battery was defective, but could not tell me what was wrong with it. I declined the work and took it to another mechanic that found that other similar issues have been solved by ensuring that the vehicle is properly grounded to the frame. This s

While driving on I-70 between Cincinnati OH and Louisville KY at night, I switched high beams and the instrument panel, headlights, flickered off and on as the truck momentarily lurched. I stopped at gas station and shut truck off and when I tried to restart there was a complete loss of power. Under the hood I wiggled the blue connector to this box located on top of the battery (I think it is some kind of fusible link with two harnesses and other wires coming off of it. I then tried the key FOD and remote started the truck. I was able to get home that night but every time I would use passing lights the lurching and momentary power loss would occur. When I used the turn signal to turn on my street I lost all power and almost hit another car due to loss of steering and brakes - I wiggled the blue connector again on that fusible link box and was able to secure the vehicle. As I look at google and GM truck links I am seeing a large population of complaints on this issue that include possible grounding issues where a rubber grommet is being employed between the grounding strap and body, grounding wire in contact with passenger side header, and a number of other electrical issues. GM seems to be aware of the issue since they have a number of service bulletins addressing the issues (they instruct technicians not to change parts unless the issue is replicated) and I am concerned at the large number of these GM's possibly affected and the spread of year models noted.

The truck wouldn’t start, after jumping the battery and commencing our drive the truck would intermittently hit breaks with foot lightly on accelerator. Engine power is reduced showed on screen. Trailer break system warning. Upon doing research online, it it a failure due to the trailer wiring harness. Truck is completely undrivable/unsafe to operate and we are having to pay for rental car. 56000 miles and they are not honoring power train warranty.

The steering locks up completely when driving. This could cause a major and even fatal crash. The steering locks up without any warning then the message appears to service power steering. My wife a d child we’re in the truck when this happened randomly. They are extremely lucky they were not hit by anyone.
