2024 Can-Am Spyder F3

Defect. Bombardier Recreational Products, Inc. (BRP) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Can-Am Origin, Can-Am Pulse, 2025-2027 Can-Am Canyon, 2024-2027 Can-Am Spyder RT, and Can-Am Spyder F3 motorcycles equipped with a touchscreen instrument cluster. The instrument cluster may reset, freeze, or go blank. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 123, "Motorcycle Control and Displays," and FMVSS number 122, "Motorcycle Brake Systems."

Risk. An inoperative instrument cluster will fail to display critical safety information, such as vehicle speed and warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. The instrument cluster software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 12, 2026. Owners may contact BRP customer service at 1-888-272-9222. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning September 22, 2026. The manufacturers number for this recall is 2027-2 & 2026-3.

I cold started the motorcycle and while waiting for a security gate to open the engine suddenly quit. I hit the starter and it immediately restarted. Then after I pulled out into traffic the engine died again. Fortunately I was in the right hand lane and again hit the starter and the engine again immediately restarted. By this time I knew I had a serious problem. Trying to get to a traffic light to make a u-turn back to where I store the bike the engine suddenly, again without any warning, died a third time while traveling at around 35 mph in traffic. I was able to safely coast over to the curb and hit the starter button and the engine immediately restarted. I was able to get back to my storage unit without further incident. At no time did I perceive any warning lights or check engine light. Upon each restart the engine ran perfectly without any roughness or stumbling. Power output was normal. Obviously this situation could result in an accident causing serious injury or death to me and/or others. The dealer came out and trailered the bike back for inspection. All they did was let the engine idle for a few minutes to warm up the oil for a requested oil change and check the computer for faults. None were found. They claim to have called the manufacture for advice and were told that since they did not reproduce the issue and there were no computer faults that is all they could do. I have refused delivery of the bike until this issue has been fully and unequivocally resolved as
