As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Risk. Marker lights that fail to illuminate can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the center roof marker light, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 5, 2026. Defect. Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2026 VOLVO VAH, VN, VHD, 2026-2027 VNL (4) and VNR (4) vehicles. The steering knuckles may have been manufactured with insufficiently tightened steering arms.

Risk. A loose steering arm can result in a loss of vehicle steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and tighten the fasteners between the steering arm and steering knuckle, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 27, 2026. Risk. Wheel detachment can cause a loss of vehicle control or create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

The rear brake modulators may have unprotected electrical connectors that can short circuit and lead to a loss of the anti-lock brake system (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC).

Risk. A loss of anti-lock brakes and electronic stability control increases the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect the rear brake modulator electrical connectors, install a protective cover, and replace the rear brake modulators, as necessary, free of charge. Defect. Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2025-2026 VNL (4) vehicles. The service brake may take longer than expected to release. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 121, "Air Brake Systems."

Risk. A delayed brake release can increase the risk of crash.

Defect. Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2024-2027 VNL (4) vehicles that do not include auxiliary parking brakes. If the vehicle is in weight bias mode there may not be enough weight on the parking brake axle, which could result in inadequate parking brake force.

Risk. Inadequate parking brake force can result in a rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.

Defect. Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2026 VNR (4) and 2024-2026 VNL (4) vehicles. The automatic high beams (AHB) may not switch to low beam headlights as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Risk. High beam headlights that do not switch to low beam as intended can reduce visibility for oncoming traffic, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. As an interim action, Volvo Trucks will update the vehicle software through an over-the-air (OTA) update to disable the AHB feature, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed June 1, 2026. Defect. Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2024-2026 VNL (4) vehicles. The load lock clamps, located on the back of the cab, may loosen and cause the load lock bars to become unsecured.

Risk. A loose or unsecured load lock bar can result in a loss of cargo, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.

The contact owns a 2026 Volvo VNL(4). The contact stated that while driving approximately 75 MPH, the message "Stop Vehicle - Apply Parking Brake Only While at Stand Still" was displayed, with three unknown warning lights were illuminated, with a continuous audible alert. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where a diagnostic machine was connected, but the computer system crashed. The cluster display, environment control, gateway, radio and entertainment, driver control, and telematic gateway modules, and the CCIOM, RIOCM, VMCU, SCIM, and DACU, all needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred two and a half hours later. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, however, before the vehicle was diagnosed, it turned off in the parking lot with the doors wide open and the key not in the ignition. With the battery saver mode activated, the vehicle rolled forward inadvertently. The contact's husband was in the bed of the vehicle and reached into the front of the vehicle and pulled the air brake, however, the vehicle failed to slow down. The brake pedal was depressed, and the vehicle stopped. The vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the wheel speed sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. On another occasion, while attempting to park the vehicle with the parking brake activated, the parking brake failed to engage, and the vehicle rolled forward. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where the failure could not be duplicate

I am submitting this complaint to report a serious safety issue involving a Volvo VNL truck. The vehicle was purchased new on December 12, 2025 and currently has approximately 22,000 miles. Since shortly after purchase, the truck has experienced a defect in the braking system. While driving, the vehicle has unexpectedly applied the brakes on its own and has displayed warning messages related to the parking brake system. This creates a dangerous situation because sudden braking can cause loss of control or lead to a collision with other vehicles. The truck was taken to an authorized Volvo dealer for repair and remained at the dealership for approximately one month while technicians attempted to diagnose and repair the problem. After the truck was returned to me, the exact same issue occurred again almost immediately. Because the braking system is a critical safety component, the unexpected application of brakes while driving presents a serious risk to the driver and to other motorists on the road. The defect has persisted despite extended repair attempts. I am reporting this issue so that it can be investigated as a potential safety defect affecting this vehicle model. Vehicle Information: Make: Volvo Trucks Model: VNL Purchase Date: December 12, 2025 Mileage: Approximately 22,000 miles I request that this safety issue be reviewed and investigated to determine whether other vehicles may be affected by the same defect.

The contact owns a 2026 Volvo VNL4. The contact stated that the front lift axle lowered unintendedly while in the travel position. The computer sensed the abnormal weight while driving in high winds. While driving in snow, rain, and wind, the contact was concerned about a crash while driving the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired after several months. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 1,800.

Im experiencing. 1.)engine malfunction, 2.) def system not performing auto regen or standby regen, 3.) check engine light on, 4.) def engine blinking continuously, 5.) steering wheel control pulling to the passenger side, 6.) carbon monoxide inside truck due to heater control knob turned on or off and it still blows heats and fumes inside truck whether its on or off, 7.) ROOF ID LAMP LIGHT is not working, 8.) hood latch is not 100% properly locking to secure shut, and computer module box to the airlines is defected causing me to not be able to slide tandems on trailer without having ME TO FORCEFULLY disconnect the RED AIRLINE HOSE FROM THE TRAILER. Im here in [XXX] the Cambria Truck Center and they are telling this particular truck haves only 2 recalls and the def problem already got.taken care of and the 2nd recall is a stability cross bar behind the tractor. I told Cambria truck center that all the exact issues the truck and myself is experiencing is all listed on the Internet on the recall list for 2026 VOLVO VNL 660. THEY SAID NOT ALL THE RECALLS ARE FOR THE SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL IT GOES BY VIN ONLY THEY ARE LOOKING AT IT ITS IN THEIR SHOP PLEASE HELP ME GET THE RECALLS APPROVED FOR MY 2026 VOLVO VNL 660.
