2019 Thor Motor Coach Miramar

Defect. Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Challenger, Miramar, Magnitude, Outlaw, Omni, and Palazzo motorhomes. The vehicle control system software may cause the slide-out room to move unexpectedly.

Risk. Unexpected movement of the slide-out room can increase the risk of a injury.

Remedy. TMC will notify owners, and dealers will update the affected software, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin August 28, 2019. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC's number for this recall is RC000170.

Defect. Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2017-2019 Thor Challenger, Miramar, and Outlaw motorhomes. The motorized windshield roller shade at the driver's seating position may unroll without warning while driving.

Risk. If the windshield roller shade unrolls while driving, it could block the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. TMC will notify owners, and dealers will install a fastener to ensure the motor will not allow the shade to roll down during while driving. The recall began January 10, 2019. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC's number for this recall is RC000165.

WE PURCHASED THE MOTOR HOME FROM CAMPING WORLD IN JUNE OF 2025. IT WAS TRANSPORTED TO TEXAS AND WE FLEW TO PICK IT UP. WHEN WE WENT TO VIEW THE MOTOR HOME THERE WAS TAPE ON TWO OF THE WINDOWS, AND WHEN I QUESTIONED WHY, THEY STATED THAT THE BRACKET BROKE AND THEY WOULD FIX IT. WHEN WE PICKED IT UP TO DRIVE HOME THE WINDOWS NO LONGER HAD TAPE ON IT AND WE ASSUMED THAT THEY HAD REPLACED THE BRACKETS. WE WERE HALF WAY BACK TO WEST VIRGINIA WHEN WE REALIZED THAT ALL THEY HAD DONE WAS PUT COMMAND STRIPS ON THE WINDOWS TO HOLD THEM. ONE OF THE WINDOWS CAME OUT AND WHEN I REASEARCHED HOW TO PUT IT BACK IN, I FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL RC00023I, THAT THERE WAS ADHESIVE FAIL ON THE VENTED PORTION OF THE WINDOWS. WE FURTHER CHECKED AND FOUND THIS WAS A PROBLEM ON ALL THE VENTED WINDOWS. WE TOOK IT TO CAMPING WORLD IN AKRON, OHIO AND THEY STATED THAT OUR VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED EVEN THOUGHT THE WINDOWS HAD FAIL AS THE RECALL WARNED. THEY SAID THAT THEY CALLED THOR, BUT THEY SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED. WE CALLED THOR BUT THEY TOO SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED. I ASK HOW THAT COULD BE SINCE IT WAS A 2019 AND THAT THE FAILURE WAS EXACTLY WHAT HAD HAPPENED ON OUR COACH. THEY SAID THEY WOULD GET BACK TO US AND IT HAS BEEN A YEAR AND WE HAVE NOT HEARD A THING. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW IT COULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL SINCE THE FAILURE IS EXACTLY WHAT OUR PROBLEM IS. I WOULD APPRECIATED SOME HELP WITH THIS SITUATION SINCE IT IS VERY SCARY AND WORRISOME

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F53. The contact stated that the lower bottom of the window was flapping. The contact used liquid adhesive to secure the windows. The windows were taped shut by the owner. The dealer was contacted and declined the repair. The dealer stated the failure was not associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V522000 (Structure, Equipment). The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the local dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 11,550.
