The backup camera system is not available, no camera visibility on any of the cameras, no sensors detection, blinkers only lit for 2 seconds and after that they are turned off automatically. Vehicle is not safe to drive with the risk of system failure while driving.

Vehicle hood latch censor . Around feb 25 2025 my car was parked in parking lot when i shift to d it showes hood latch need service i towed the car to service center . They replaced the censor by saying its a old bad censor . Now again my car parked in garage march 17 the same hood latch censor error . And it wont let you drive more than 15 mph . Even the hood is locked . If you check kn social media alot of people faced the same issue
The vehicle comes with a software feature that automatically shifts the car into park "to prevent rollaway". It does it at random times when we are driving and has multiple times almost caused an accident because my vehicle will suddently stop when I am in the middle of a road or pulling out onto a busy road. The most recent incident was on March 11 2025, I was pulling out from a parking lot, taking a right onto a very busy road. The software unexpectedly shifted the vehicle to park, stopping it completely while I was halfway in the road, with other cars approaching me at 45-50mph. In a panic it was difficult to shift back into drive quickly, and nearly caused an accident that could have been fatal. I called the manufacturer and was uanble to get through to an agent, so I sent an email and have not yet received a response.
The steering wheel is locking up. First while parked and attempting to leave. It does eventually unlock and appears to not have what i would refer to as power steering. While driving it appears to not have power steering and the steering periodically locks up which i would immediately brake a have to repeatedly yank hard on wheel until it unlocks at this point as of the moment of this writing the steering wheel is completely locks up and cannot be yank out of lock at all. I have a video of some incidents happening. One heading into on coming traffic another of the car driving up on a snow bank ( if the bank was not there the car would have ended up in a ditch ). There are caution indicators on the screen but none say stop do not drive. The first caution or warning indicator says stability control disabled drive with caution. Next indicator states traction control disabled drive with caution. Next indicator steering assist reduced steering may require increased effort. I find myself very lucky that no real damage injury or death occurred it was that dangerous on my over an hour drive. When the steering locked up in the parking lot i did contact tesla and initially everything was fine but locked up again in parking lot. I contacted them a second time with the wheel unlocking at the but no one said dont drive nor did any indicators state that actually indicated i could drive but with caution. I believe that if i were on a busy highway things would have been much worse. I was luc
After update 2024.38.2 they introduced a "Active Curve Assist" which can't be disabled while using the cruise control. This has caused the car to excessively brake (70mph to 45mph), a couple times while a vehicle is following resulting in a near rear end collision and has created dangerous situations
Incident Details: Date & Time: [XXX] Driver: My spouse, Purpose of Trip: Personal (heading to a nearby soccer park) Location: [XXX] Weather & Road Conditions: Clear weather, dry roads, normal traffic conditions Driver Safety: The driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident Incident Description: My spouse was driving to the nearby soccer park with the vehicle in FSD mode. Upon approaching a railway crossing, the signal was green, indicating it was safe to proceed. However, instead of maintaining a controlled speed, the car suddenly accelerated while attempting to cross. Before my spouse could take control, the vehicle struck the boom barrier, which was either lowering or had already lowered at that moment. The incident happened so suddenly that she did not have enough time to react and override the system. Fortunately, no injuries occurred, but the vehicle sustained damage to the front bumper, windshield, and frame. The unexpected behavior of FSD at a railway crossing raises serious safety concerns regarding its decision-making. Safety Concerns: I have been a long-time appreciative user of FSD, but this incident has shaken my confidence in the system. I now fear using FSD. Given the serious nature of this incident, I request an urgent review and response regarding my concerns, as well as coverage for the necessary repairs. Request for Investigation & Cost Coverage: Access to Vehicle Logs: I request access to the vehicle's telemetry and camera recordings to determ
The contact owns a 2024 Tesla Model Y. The contact stated that as he was driving forward at approximately 5 MPH after having stopped for a traffic signal his vehicle was crashed into the driver's right front fender by another vehicle. The contact stated the vehicle's front collision sensor did not detect the other vehicle. The contact stated that the driver's side front fender and the hood on his vehicle had to be replaced. The contact was not sure about the damage to the other vehicle, but there were no injuries. The police arrived on scene and wrote a report but he was not given the report number. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer and the body damage was repaired, however, the failure of the front collision avoidance sensor was not diagnosed. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred. The contact was driving at approximately 35 MPH at night when he crashed into the rear of a vehicle that was double parked on the street. The contact stated that the parked vehicle was in a poorly illuminated section of the street. The contact stated that his forward collision avoidance sensor had failed to engage and had not stopped his vehicle. The contact stated that the police were on the scene and had not issued a report. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local body shop, where the damage to the front bumper, grill, and headlights was repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

The seat belt buckle on the driver's seat failed to latch. After several attempts, it appeared to latch but did not make a clicking sound. The driver is unsure whether the seat belt is functioning properly. This is a new car, less than 5 months old.
I was driving on a three-lane highway (I-495) using the adaptive cruise control (autosteer) when I suddenly noticed the car to my right dangerously veering toward my vehicle. In an attempt to change lanes to the left, my car wildly overcorrected to the left, nearly sending me into the highway median, followed by another overcorrection to the right. The steering wheel felt almost uncontrollable. Luckily no collision.
When using FSD, I've noticed that on occasion at a red light, the car will start moving, albeit very slowly, a fraction of a second before the light turns green. I've assumed the car was watching the traffic lights from the other direction using its cameras. So on the [XXX] when this happened, and the car started moving I let it go thinking the light was about to turn green. But I was shocked that the car drove through the red light. Admittedly there were red lights in all directions. I know I'm supposed to be keeping control but it was so shocking that by the time I reacted the car was already in the intersection so I let it go. I downloaded a recording of it. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I continue to get completely FALSE forward collision warnings. Part of this is because my front camera housing keeps fogging up and over the past 529 weeks I’ve gotten a half dozen false FCWs. When these faulty alerts occur, a loud audible beeping is heard and red alerts are displayed on the screen. These faulty alerts are dangerous distractions, causing panic, fear, and uncertainty in the driver, causing them to take their attention off of the road while they assess what just occurred. This is a critical flaw in the functionality of Tesla vehicles that the company has refused to address. This also makes me insurance rate spike way higher and I’m getting charged extra for this.
SUDDEN ACCELERATION, I WAS DRIVING IN MY OWN DRIVEWAY AND A MODEST SPEED T15 MPH I HAVE A CIRCULAR DRIVEWAY AND I WAS ASCENDING UP THE CIRCLE WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WITHOUT MY ACTION. i TOOK MYI FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND HIT THE BREAK BUT THE CAR DID NOT STOP OR SLOW DOWN. IT CONTINUED UP MY DRIVEWAY ON MY LAWN AND ACCROSS MY LAWN THROUGH A FENCE AND I WOUND UP IN MY NEIGHBORS LOT WITH CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE. I WAS SHAKEN BUT DID NOT SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION AT THE TIME. MY NEIGHBOR AND MY WIFE ASSISTED. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO TESLA CONTRACTOR BODY SHOP -RECON. WHERE IT IS NOW. I HAVE REQUESTED THAT TESLA EVALUATE AND REPAIR THE CAR BEFORE I DRIVE IT AGAIN AND PICK IT UP FROM THE BODY SHOP. I NOTIFIED THE BODY SHOPP(TONI MCCARTHY) AND TESLA SERVICE(RADCLIFFE SERVICE PERSON WORKS FOR DON HADDON SERVICE MANAGER) .SO FAR NOTHING HAS HAPPENED . TESLA ASKED ME TO SEND A PHOTO OF THE ACCELERATOR BUT SINCE THE CAR IS STILL IN THEIR AUTHORIZED BODY SHOP, I AM UNABLE TO DO IT. i AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR AND ASKED THEM TO TOW IT FROM THE BODY SHOP TO THE ROCKVILLE TESLA DEALER BUT THEY SEEM RELUCTANT TO DO THIS. MY WIFE HAD A SEPARATE PRIOR EXPERIENCE WITH SUDDEN ACCELERATION .N HOPING FOR NHTSA INTERVENTION
Tesla has told me the AP4 computer has failed in my car which has resulted in them having to replace it. I had this issue start on 1/12, and I scheduled the earliest appointment available for 1/30. They did not offer me a rental or any assistance during this time, and I need my vehicle to commute to work and conduct other essential activities. It has just over 1,000 miles on it and is ~3 months old now. This issue impacts: backup camera, emergency braking, blind spot detection, lane keep/centering, assisting with parking, automatic high beams and wipers, cruise control/ adaptive cruise control, Vehicles built in GPS to be stuck at one location every time, has made my touchscreen not automatically brighten or dim, my auto dimming mirrors be too dim in most driving conditions, constantly fail to install system improvements and safety updates, and because my vehicle keeps trying to do this, it has caused increased battery drain as well. This has increased the safety risk of my vehicle tremendously, and i have received no reparations for it.
None of the cameras work in the Tesla. Unable to use any safety features. No reverse camera. Any adaptive cruise control, safety features are all disabled. Two months to get it repaired and serviced.
The car horn is a speaker and is extremely quiet during normal operation. When in rain or snow, the horn speaker disables itself completely leaving the driver unable to utilize the horn which I believe is a hazard to drivers.
Back in late November 2024, Tesla pushed an Over-The-Air (OTA) update to my 2024 Tesla Model Y. Immediately after pushing this OTA, all of my car's cameras stopped working (INCLUDING my rear or "backup" camera). This is in violation of federal law as all new vehicles are required to have a backup camera. Additional safety-critical items were also impacted: the rear-view and both of the side mirrors remain tinted to the darkest level, reducing my visibility. The side mirrors are also tilted in the "downward" position, making lane changes incredibly difficult. Since the front-facing and side-facing cameras do not work the vehicle's forward and side collision detection systems are inoperable. The vehicle suffers from additional failures (GPS navigation, Maps, Autopilot, among many others). I have presented these issues to Tesla and they have continously pushed out my repair date. I have also asked for a loaner vehicle due to the failure of the car's safety systems (some of which are federally mandated!!). Tesla has ignored my pleas for a loaner vehicle and has also remained silent when I have repeatedly asked to return the vehicle under Washington State lemon laws. My safety and the safety of others have been put at grave risk due to the backup camera and collision detection cameras not working. Tesla has NOT inspected the vehicle as they continuously push my service date further out. No obvious warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms appear. The user doesn't know these feder
Description for NHTSA Report: I am reporting a significant safety concern with the new Teslas (starting with the 2024 models) that do not have a traditional physical horn. Instead, the horn sound is generated through the car’s external speakers. This design poses a severe safety risk, especially in rainy conditions or when the speakers are wet, as the horn becomes inaudible or significantly less effective. Additionally, the volume of the speaker-generated horn is not comparable to the loudness of traditional horns, making it insufficient for alerting other drivers and pedestrians in emergencies. This lack of an actual horn is extremely dangerous and has already led to situations where the horn was not effective. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this issue as it compromises vehicle safety.
Park assist error message when put car in reverse. No visualizations on display. Early collision not working. Several times (not in this instance) backup camera has been black and does not show an image. Sentry system error message. FSD offline. (may not be a safety issue but wanted to provide information as it would show other errors in the system affecting safety) I have a scheduled appointment with the service center in February.
Tesla has told me the AP4 computer has failed in my car which has resulted in them having to replace it. I had this issue start right around [XXX]. I scheduled the soonest appointment available for 12/30 however Tesla contacted me and moved my appointment because they stated that the part was unavailable at this time and should be delivered by 01/9/25 but now it has been pushed back to 1/20/25. Not offering me a rental or anything on my brand new '24 Tesla. It has just over 1,000 miles on it and is ~3 months old now. This issue impacts: emergency braking, blind spot detection, lane keep/centering, assisting with parking, automatic high beams and wipers, cruise control/ adaptive cruise control, Vehicles built in GPS to be stuck at one location every time, has made my touchscreen not automatically brighten or dim, my auto dimming mirrors be too dim in most driving conditions, constantly fail to install system improvements and safety updates, and because my vehicle keeps trying to do this, it has caused increased battery drain as well. This has increased the safety risk of my vehicle tremendously... Tesla has not seemed to publicly acknowledge the issue yet either. The computer suddenly failed on [XXX] due to a short circuit caused by a manufacturing defect in certain 2024-25 Model Y vehicles. This causes nearly all advanced functionality and safety features of the car to fail completely, including all cameras, parking assist, full self-driving, autopilot, autosteer, autopark, cruise control, lane keep, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, auto windshield wipers, map, GPS navigation and more. Also, the car does not sleep, resulting in excessive battery drain. The problem is widespread. It's this problem: [XXX] As a result the vehicle is significantly less safe to drive. Tesla continually delays service appointments due to unavailability of parts. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
All of the car's cameras have gone dead since November 2024. The car has been collecting water in the truck area and inside panel of the car by the door frame.
Around the end of November, my 2024 Tesla Model Y's cameras stopped functioning. The sensors for blind spots and possible collision prevention stopped working. The GPS was also not working, the car believes it's been in the same spot for over a month. The lights of the car also do not work as promised, as now I have to manually turn them on on my dashboard and it goes on and off. I have been trying to get into Tesla to have this fixed but the appointment keeps getting pushed out due to the part that needs to be fixed not being in stock. I brought my car into Tesla for them to confirm that it is the part that is missing and that is the case but they couldn't fix it because they don't have the part. It's been over a month and my date was pushed out again, probably the sixth or seventh time. Tesla claims that there will be a software update that will fix this issue, however, my car is not updating and won't even accept a software update.
I WAS TOLD BY TESLA THAT A COMPUTER SYSTEM UPDATE INSTALLED BY TESLA BURNED OUT THE AP4 COMPUTER ON THE CAR. THIS AFFECTS ALL CAMERAS, NAVIGATION, AUTOMATIC LIGHTS AND MUCH MORE
I initially visited the Milford, CT Tesla Service Department and communicated through the Tesla Ap on 12/14/2024 regarding my 2024 Tesla Model Y, which has only 2,357 miles on it. The car's cameras, sensors, & navigation stopped working, making driving unsafe. Now, the bright lights do not go on. The vehicle's camera/sensors are critical for safe operation. Tesla said the car may need a new computer, but they have none in stock. They texted me that they have many people facing the same issues.
According to Tesla the AI4 computer experienced an internal short circuit. This has rendered all cameras including backup camera, GPS, parking sensors, and automatic wipers inoperable. The visibility out of the vehicle is very poor to the rear without the backup camera. Parking without the rear camera and parking sensors is difficult. Not having physical controls for the wipers makes turning them on/off and changing speeds difficult, causing a lot of drivers distraction.
Tesla Full Self Driving v13.2.2 attempted to make a left turn while having a red light. The vehicle successfully came to a complete stop due the red light but once traffic cleared the intersection it attempted to proceed with the left turn while still having a red light. I immediately took over preventing the car from entering further into the intersection.
Around Dec 16 all cameras in my 2024 Model Y Tesla stopped working and it has not worked since that date. This affects many systems, the most important of which is that I now have no rear backup camera. I believe vehicle manufacturers are required to have functioning back up cameras. I notified Tesla service on 12/16 and was told there was a known computer hardware problem which would cause my incident. Tesla service told me they were unable to obtain the needed computer replacement for a month at least. They informed me there was no safety risk, but I disagree since I don’t have a functioning back up camera, nor lane change camera assistance. Also the display panel is very dark and impossible to read most of the time, posing another safety concern. Why has Tesla not issued a public statement about this problem, and why has NHTSA not mandated a formal recall?
The FSD feature for which we have paid in full to Tesla does not work. No cruise control and no Assisted Steering Control or Cruise Control works. As per their Service Department, AP4 Car Computer has internal short and camera can not communicate for above mentioned features.
The car accelerated by itself over the curb and into the building

All cameras stopped working. Blind spot detection not working. Blinkers stopped working. No parking assist. Auto wipers . Adas not working. Screen auto brightness not working. Clicking when letting off accelerator. We damaged our tire and rim due to this issue.
The autopilot computer failed. This has rendered all safety systems and camera on the vehicle inactive, including the rear view camera, all forward and side cameras so no active safety systems are functioning. This includes crash avoidance, lane keeping, blind spot warning, cruise control, and rear camera during reverse, the vehicle is nearly impossible to reverse as the view is terrible with no cameras.
Software update applied OTA. Complete failure of ECU on reboot, including cameras, rear backup camera, all proximity warnings, cruise control, FSD, GPS, navigation, battery preheating, etc. Car is unsafe to drive in this state.
Hello , I just bought the new Tesla Model Y 2024 in the October and all of a sudden all the driver assistance programs are not working, including the Rear Camera(Reverse camera) I took it for the service on December 4th and they fixed issue on December 5th. After few days on December 13th the same issue happened again and Tesla service center is saying I need to wait till February 20th 2025 for the repair. All cameras are not working in the car, it does not show any backup camera, No forward collision warnings or no lane change assist Tesla is not considering this as a safety issue I am including a chat summary with the service center via PDF file. I have included previous repair invoice also when the same issue happened on 4th December
Cameras stopped working which made all of the safety functions and GPS stop working as well.

The car lost all ADAS functions, and GPS on the onboard navigation system. In addition. it can't use regular cruise control and it does not have rear view mirror blind spot warning capability any more. This all happened when the car attempted to install the "holiday" updated from Tesla automatically around 11/29/24 .
On 12/16/2024 my vehicle received software update 2024.39.15, after installing the update i went to the grocery store and noticed nothing was working in the car except basic driving functionality. cameras were showing up as a black screen. TACC, aurosteer and FSD supervised were no longer working as well as AEB,FCW,BSM,LDW,LKAS and the gps had me in the middle of the ocean, headlights on during broad daylight. I informed a service center by my home and they simply didn’t care, i took it to another service center 50 minutes away and they took two days to do repairs and diagnostics, i was told the computer had shorted out and the technician replaced the car computer and AI4 (HW4) computer system which runs safety features. A software update physically pushed from tesla should not be shorting out computers on its vehicles, i heavily rely on the cameras and safety features since living in a state where nobody knows how to drive (lol). I hope my vehicle is fixed and this issue doesn’t persist anymore.
AP4 computer failure has led to navigation, cameras, blind spot monitoring, lane departure and other systems being inoperable. Tesla has stated they don’t have the parts to fix and have pushed out my service repair time twice already. Issue reported on December 4th, since then no time table for repair has been given. Tesla keeps stating the car is operable, leaving out the facts it’s dangerous to drive due to small rear windows and blind spots based on the cars design to work with operable cameras that give the drive clearer angles to view.
2024 Tesla Model Y. All cameras and GPS used for safety and convenience features suddenly stopped working. Everything was working when vehicle parked for the evening, next morning cameras and GPS stopped working. No accident or other incident associated with it. No longer able to use: Backup Camera Automatic Cruise Control (including Full Self Drive (Supervised)) Blind Spot warning when changing lanes. Navigation Parking Collision Warning Automatic Braking There is concern with safety of vehicle overall since many of the safety features rely on Tesla cameras.
They advertise it as a computer failure. The cruise control doesn't work, none of the cameras displays, causing me to hit the lawnmower in my garage. Other functions as navigation, range prediction, and automatic light/dark display switching don't work either.
Back-up camera went out along with blind spot camera. All camera inoperable. Front research this appears to be an issue with the computers in 2024 late year Model Y's built in the Tesla Fremont factory.
Navigation is frozen. No cameras work. No full self driving features work. No cruise control.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
