Royal Enfield North America Limited: Exterior Lighting
Royal Enfield North America Limited reported this defect to federal regulators on Sep 27, 2024 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 4,206. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Royal Enfield North America Limited (Royal Enfield) is recalling certain 2023 Himalayan, Classic 350, Meteor 350, Hunter 350, Super Meteor 650, Int 650, and Continental GT 650 motorcycles. The side and rear reflectors are not sufficient. As such, these lights fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
The risk
Without the proper reflective equipment, it may be difficult for other road users to see the motorcycle from the rear or side, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Dealers will replace the side and rear reflectors, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 30, 2024. Owners may contact Royal Enfield's customer service at 1-866-600-1122. Royal Enfield's number for this recall is SC-43.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 24V713000.
