Stellantis and RAM companies have had Manufacturer Recall NumberC4B NHTSA Recall Number24V-896 Recall Status: Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available This has been well over a year and I have lost the use of my Truck for loading my Truck Camper for the entire year due to their lack of resources allocated to fix this issue. I have had the Traction control light /ABS Service light associated with the HCU electric pump motor fail on this recall since June of 2024 and it is due to defective parts that do not last as this was the second HCU/Electric pump motor in the truck from the Manufacturer and installed serviced by my local RAM dealer dealer( first one failed at 11,500 miles approximately. my truck has 23,000 miles on it currently as and when the repair part(s) come into stock, it will be the 3rd unit installed. This time on waiting for upgraded parts to be installed under the Recall/Warranty is unacceptable and is not "TIMELY" at all. Additionally if this light comes on during driving with cruise control on it will shut off cruise control and can cause an accident from the deceleration.

With the vehicle running, regardless of bein parked or in motion, if I turn the steering wheel either Left or Right, the steering wheel kicks back against the direction the wheel is being turned. Having to fight the steering wheel while driving makes it dangerous while driving at highway speeds around corners, curves, etc. Took it into the dealership and they did verified the issue, their report states " Scanned vehicle pulling no relatable DTC's"... "performed further inspection of steering column and steering components with no visual external concerns" The dealership believes it is an internal part within the steering gear box, referencing an "internal check valve" but would have to replace that part and test again with the total cost bein $3486.96 !!! and still may not fix the issue which is internal to the steering components.
The Brake Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) covered under Safety Recall C4B has been unavailable for several years, leaving my 2018 Ram 2500 with ongoing ABS, traction control, and electronic stability control malfunctions. This defect has already caused an actual accident. In January 2024, during snow conditions, the ABS and traction control failed while I was braking in my driveway. The truck slid uncontrollably and struck a tree, causing over $10,000 in damage that had to be repaired through my insurance. This incident occurred specifically because the brake and stability systems did not function properly. The issue continues to create serious safety risks, especially in winter. The warning lights for ABS and traction control are on constantly, accompanied by continuous dinging that is extremely distracting and stressful to drive with. The truck loses stability on snow or ice, braking distance is increased, and the vehicle behaves unpredictably. I am now driving again in snow and ice this winter, and I am genuinely afraid this defect will cause another accident. Despite this being an acknowledged safety recall, every dealership I contact says the replacement HCU part is still “not available” for my vehicle. This has been confirmed repeatedly by multiple dealerships and by the manufacturer’s recall hotline. I have attempted to get this recall repaired for several years with no success. Because the recall remedy is unavailable, the vehicle remains unsafe to operate, yet I have no
Please add this to complaint number: 11702732 This is a supplemental complaint regarding the same safety issue I previously reported involving Safety Recall C4B on my 2018 Ram 2500 - complaint # 11702732 In addition to the safety concerns and the prior accident I described in my original complaint, the unresolved recall has also caused significant financial harm. I still owe approximately $15,100 on the vehicle and must make a $515 monthly payment. Because the recall remedy has been unavailable for years, I cannot legally sell or trade the vehicle, even though it should have substantial equity. The truck’s resale value has dropped due to the open safety recall with no remedy, leaving me financially stuck with an unsafe vehicle I cannot get rid of and a high payment that I currently cannot afford due to job loss. The unresolved recall continues to put me in danger during winter driving, and the lack of remedy has created both a safety crisis and a serious financial hardship. Please attach this information to my previous complaint for the same VIN.
The C4B recall on my truck has been open for over a year and Ram / MOPAR just keep saying no part available when I take it in to get fixed. The truck will not stay in cruise control every time the light dings. It is a hydraulic controller for the brake fluid which seems like it is a huge safety risk if it does fail while driving.
I have a 2018 ram 2500 purchase from the dealership within the same week of purchase magically the ABS system failed driving down the highway in the middle of winter time kicking out cruise control and traction control causing me to almost crash on the highway and get hit by a semi Not only have I had the truck for almost 2 years unable to drive it I believe the dealership should never been able to sell me this vehicle with the known problems and what they already failing ABS system making me unaware of the issue Yes and the brake system not working in the truck sitting has caused other failures in the vehicle now a transmission shop told me the ABS failure affecting other parts of the truck caused the transmission brain to not work correctly and my warranty could not fix the transmission is corrected and fixed so I have those problems now that can't be fixed until the ABS systems fixed and there's no parts available still so my warranty is going to expire before the break system can get fixed Before it went out on me there were no lights I purchased it from the dealership so obviously they had cleared out the failure and lights to make the vehicle sale because the ABS light came on during test drive and I was told that was a new feature to remind you to check brake pad for wear and tear
Traction Control and ABS not working properly. ABS light on dashboard is on called dealer several times and am told that the parts are unavailable. However, they said if I want to pay for the parts they could fix it. We called mopar and were told that the parts are available and can even be purchased on [XXX] . Called and explained this to the dealer and they said they had 1 in stock and made an appointment. Then received a call that they didnt know if they could get the parts - seems like if I want to pay out of pocket they will fix it. I would like to know if I lose my brakes or have an accident because of this safety issue who will be responsible?? INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Recently the radio and display system in the vehicle stopped working properly. It was basically ghosting all commands. It could not be controlled by knobs, touch screen or voice command. the dealer stated that the screen delaminated and was causing the issue. This is a safety concern because the radio was calling 911 randomly and I was unable to stop it, it was turn on and off features in the vehicle. It's very dangerous. there is a wide know problem for these delaminating screens and this should be recalled and fixed.

Recall #24 V896000, C4B was issued in December of 2024 . Recall was to replace the HCU unit that controls the braking system. I have called every month, no parts are available to fix the problem. Warning lights and sounds are now going on and off on the vehicle. It does not seem reasonable that parts are not available to fix a safety recall for one year. Please contact the manufacturer to force them immediately to get this severe safety issue fixed.

My 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 ABS Hydraulic Control Unit failed, almost a year after recall NHTSA 24V-896 (manufacturer recall C4B) was issued. This resulted in a loss of ABS capability. I reached out to the closest Dodge dealers and they informed me that a replacement component was not available. As this was a safety concern, and no resolution was available through Dodge, I was forced to complete the repair myself. Interestingly, I had no issue purchasing a Mopar OEM HCU. After replacing the unit, I'm no longer receiving ABS error codes and the truck is functioning normally. After submitting a reimbursement request to FCA for the repair via their website, my request was denied as I didn't use a certified repair facility. I informed them that I had tried but that they informed me that no repair components were available to complete the recall.

My ABS module has an active recall. I have replaced brakes and rotors in the front and rear. I have had to resurface my rear rotors due to the issue. My breaks are locking up and causing issues. I can't back up my trailer without my breaks locking up. The recall has been active for almost a year without a resolution. This problem is unsafe and people's lives are at risk. Something needs to be done. I can't even buy an aftermarket updated part to fix this issue. Thank you!

Abs and traction lights stay on. cruise control does not work. recall is 24V-896 and parts are still not available after almost a year.
My vehicle has a recall for a an ABS control module which affects, the ABS system, traction control, and cruise control system. The cruise control system will randomly turn off when the vehicle is at highway speeds causing a momentary struggle to keep control of the vehicle. The driver information display in the gauge cluster will randomly flash an error message with an audible "ding" which is highly distracting while driving. At times, this warning flashes every 3-5 seconds and lasts for 10-30 minutes at a time making it very difficult to concentrate on driving the vehicle. The traction control system fails when the message flashes which has been a problem on wet roads. The dealership has acknowledged the recall of the ABS module multiple times and indicated the manufacturer has not made a fix available for nearly a year. The issues with my vehicle are becoming more apparent and frequent every week. This is the second Ram 2500 I have owned that experienced a failure of the ABS module. I began to notice the issues with this vehicle in July of 2023 and the frequency has dramatically increased in recent months.

RECALL ISSUED NOV 2024. PARTS STILL NOT AVAILABLE FROM MANUFACTURER BUT CAN ORDER THEM ONLINE FROM THIRD PARTY. ABS AND STABILITY CONTRPL LIGHT STAY ON CONTINUOUSLY, ALSO PREVENTS 4WD FROM WORKING AND CRUISE CONTROL. THIS IS A DAILY DRIVER FOR WORK AND IS A 7 YEAR OLD VEHICLE. WHY CAN WE NOT GET THIS FIXED. CANT GET A RESPONSE FROM MANUFACTURER.
My traction control and abs brakes warning lights come on and off regularly. I do not have abs brakes or traction control a lot of the time
ABS failure light keeps popping on due to the recall. I have yet to get this resolved. The dealership wanted to charge $1200 and not fix the issue A DAY after purchasing. I have been dealing with this over a year. It is dangerous. I had to replace the entire transmission which cost $6,000 because the light will come on and stay on and send incorrect information to the computer system. The truck is not performing as it should due to this, and the traction loss is dangerous when braking suddenly.
The cruise control on our truck does not work when the Hydraulic Control Unit is not working. It has started having issues this past summer which causes the message to be displayed on our dash with a warning sound. This may cause the ABS and ESC not to work properly, which is very concerning. We had planned to pull our 30 ft travel trailer across the US this winter to the south, but with these issues, we are hesitant to drive the truck a long distance. We are also hoping that the truck will stop correctly this winter since we live in Wisconsin and have snow and ice that we have drive in on a regular basis. This is concerning and we are debating as to whether or not the truck will be safe to drive. We called the manufacturer today about the part to repair the problem and there is not one yet. They said we could have a dealership do a “temporary fix” that we would have to pay for and have reimbursed. It was hard to understand the 2 people we talked to (from the Philippines - had heavy accents), so we don’t know if that “fix” really would work. They also said we could get a truck rental through the dealership, but we have no idea if they would pay for it or not, or how long it will be until there is an actual part produced by the company that will fix the problem. We are hesitant to do that if the cost would be on our shoulders, since it could be substantial. So, we may be without our vehicle this winter. It also looks like we will not be able to take our camper south for the wi
See attached document for complaint. It has been ten months since I was notified of this safety defect that has caused my vehicle's Anti-Lock Brake System to fail. The notice includes the warning, "The loss of ABSIESOTraction control may cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. " This defect has rendered my vehicle inoperable for its primary purpose - trailering horses. If! were to need to drive the vehicle, it places me, the occupants and other drivers at risk. My dealer and Dodge RAM are unable to tell me when a replacement part will be available. I would appreciate any action that you can take to assist me in this matter.

I had an appointment scheduled for November 18, 2025, at Lithia Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM FIAT of Santa Fe to address five outstanding recalls on my Ram 2500 truck. On the morning of November 10, 2025, I called to verify my appointment and was informed by a representative in the service department that my vehicle would need to remain in the shop for at least 48 hours, and that they had never performed these particular recalls before. I requested to speak with the Service Manager, Michael, and made several attempts to reach him to confirm whether the dealership had experience completing these recalls, as I was seeking reassurance. When I finally spoke with Michael, he came across as confrontational. Following that conversation, I contacted Stellantis to inquire about obtaining a rental vehicle, as I had been told the recall work would take a minimum of 48 hours. After speaking with Stellantis, I was informed that when their representative called the dealership, they were told my appointment had been canceled—apparently because I had questioned the dealership’s ability to perform the recalls.

Turbo actuator is a defective item. Per the Facebook forums I'm in, this item is often talked about as a common point of failure. There are also several videos on YouTube describing the defect. It limits the VGT vanes in the turbo from building/retarding boost in the engine creating an unsafe driving condition by not being able to accelerate properly and limit the effectiveness of the exhaust brake function when towing leading to longer stopping times which could lead to a crash. There are warning lights and CEL codes that can be read/interpreted from a handheld scanner which I have as well as many other knowledgeable mechanics regarding this specific defective/known Ram issue. There are several codes which point to a defective turbo actuator or failing turbo itself. P00AF-turbo boost control "a" module performance P226C-turbocharger boost control slow response
Recall C4B/NHTSA 24V-896 Hydraulic Control Unit ABS. Continual tripping of the ABS warning resulting in loss of ABS, Cruise Control, Traction Control. Each trip give a warning and chiming resulting in nonstop alarms, noise and loss of the above features. It has been a year since the recall, over two years since the first class action and still no remedy to this safety issue. It is time for the NHTSA to sue and obtain a consent order from FCA similar to earlier FCA consent orders to repurchase these vehicles as they are currently unsafe to drive, there is no remedy in sight, and the resale value has plummeted as a result of this recall and lack of remedy.
ABS module/ HCU faulty. This has been replaced 2 times and lasts 3 years. Dealership says no fix has been made at this time for recall. No new parts to fix it, ABS light constantly going off.
Abs warning light dings and warning lights are on. Safety recall. When will this be fixed

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
