My 2018 dodge ram has an open recall since December 2024. There are no parts/no fix. My truck has been dinging and pinging with the break light/traction light/engine light/ABS light since 6 months after I got it. ALL of these things are related to the open recall. VIN [XXX]. Manufacturer Recall Number C4B, NHTSA Recall Number24V-896. "The loss of ABS/ESC/Traction control may cause a vehicle crash without prior warning." On Sunday the 19th it stalled along with the warning lights. I took my truck to the dealer and paid $198 in Feb 2023 and they told me nothing was wrong with it. This issues would happen every so often now it's happening frequently almost daily. Customer care refuses to help. They told me to take my truck to a dealer to get it diagnosed and then send the paperwork to them and maybe they'd cover the rental until the part comes in. So now I am paying another $255 for Another diagnostics. It's sitting at Dodge in Glendora, CA right now for 2 days waiting for a call back. I was also told if it's approved, I have to pay for the rental out of pocket. For an eternity? I am not sure why I am jumping through hoops for a safety recall. It' the only car I have to commute and drive my kids in. Once again, a safety recall. This is really absurd. I begged for a manager or someone higher to call me and Ram care refused. Said they'd send my case to rentals. What if my breaks go out, what if I get in a car accident. It feels really unreasonable they won't take responsibility fo

The Ram ABS Brake recall is over 2 years old. My dash abs lights and alarm continually are alarming. When they alarm the cruise control quits working too. The manufacturer cannot tell me when the parts will be available. They say it is safe to drive but the recall says accidents could occur. I cannot get rid of this unsafe truck because the resale value stinks due to the recall. What do 317,000 owners do?
I received this safety recall in late 2024 (it is currently July 2026). I have made numerous calls to local dealerships and have called the manufacturer's customer service line. I have been told during these calls that parts are not available to repair my vehicle. Considering the safety recall notices I received in the mail states in bolded text that "the loss of ABS/ESC/Traction control may cause a vehicle crash without prior warning", the time this has been left unrepaired seems unreasonable. I am appealing to the NHTSA to take action to advocate for highway safety by requiring the parts necessary for satisfaction of this recall be made available in a reasonable timeframe. Thank you.

The brake hydraulic control unit (HCU) has malfunctioned as described in recall campaign 24V-896/C4B, resulting in the ABS and Traction Control warning lights remaining illuminated on the dashboard for an extended period. This indicates an ongoing loss of ABS/Traction Control system function, which increases the risk of a crash during hard braking or slippery conditions, per the manufacturer's own description of this defect. I have not taken it to a dealer for a repair attempt because the manufacturer's own service bulletin confirms no remedy/parts are currently available for this vehicle's configuration. No crash has occurred to date, but the vehicle is being driven with a known, unaddressed active safety defect with no manufacturer timeline for correction.
The vehicle has experienced repeated failures of the variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) electronic actuator. The actuator intermittently fails to move the turbo vanes to their commanded position, resulting in fault codes related to turbocharger performance and actuator position. The failed actuator is currently installed on the vehicle and is available for inspection upon request. This failure creates a significant safety concern because the engine can suddenly lose turbocharger performance and enter a reduced-power or "limp mode" condition without warning. During these events, the vehicle experiences a substantial loss of acceleration and power, making it difficult to safely merge onto highways, pass slower traffic, or maintain speed while towing or traveling on grades. This unexpected reduction in power increases the risk of a rear-end collision or other traffic incident, particularly when operating in normal highway traffic. The condition has been reproduced multiple times and confirmed through diagnostic trouble codes. The issue is consistent with a malfunctioning VGT electronic actuator. Numerous other owners of 2013-2018 Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks equipped with the 6.7L Cummins engine have reported similar failures involving the electronic actuator, suggesting this is not an isolated incident. Prior to complete failure, the vehicle displayed intermittent warning symptoms including a Check Engine Light, reduced exhaust brake performance, and occasional turbocharger-relat
Vehicle has not has cruise control, abs, traction/stability control for over 2 years. No traction control or stability in the winter is horrible. Not being able to control speed when traveling is inconvenient. The warning lamps illuminated and went away for weeks. Then randomly just stayed illuminated. Abs hydraulic pump has failed. The recall has been open for over a year and a half and no parts or remedy to fix it.

My 2018 Ram 2500 has been experiencing a message about servicing the electronic braking system and it is causing issues with my entire truck. When the issue arises, my automatic running boards will constantly work up and down without the truck even being on, I am having a constant message popping up on my infotainment system with a constant dinging, causing my traction control light to be illuminated on my dash. My Ram app showed me that I have 4 services required on 7/5/2026 which include, Safety Recall C4B, Antilock Brake System, Brake Warning Light and airbags. This causes concern for not only my safety but my families safety as multiple people operate my vehicle along with my child. The last thing anyone wants is for someone to get hurt especially when it could be avoided however I feel that the incident is being avoided since it has taken over almost two (2) years since this recall was issued and nothing has been done to repair said recall. I am a Law Enforcement Officer in WV along with a Volunteer Firefighter. I see the outcomes of issues with negligence of persons driving vehicles and rarely do I see anything where it is not the driver's fault. I would not wish to have to investigate into the cause of a crash that took someone's life where a known issue was able to cause the accident and no sort of remedy has been found for almost two years after being known.
Vehicle is unsafe to drive due to the loss of ABS and traction control. The constant dinging of the warning is very distracting. Stellantis, Ram Trucks, and local dealers do not seem to care that this has been an ongoing issue for over a year and still do not have any parts for the recall.

ABS Recall since November 2024. NHTSA has done nothing! Ram needs to establish a Repurchase/Replacement program now!
The ABS/HCU module failed. There is recall but no fix. There are no aftermarket parts available. This has been 2 years . I cannot use 4 wheel drive or cruise control. I cannot trade the truck in. Help I am stuck with no recourse. This is a safety Issue!
I purchased this vehicle a month and a half ago from Max Motors in Belton Missouri. I was not aware of the recall until I signed the paperwork. At the time the ABS system for open recall C4B. This issue has not been remedied for almost 3 years due to “part shortage”. My ABS system has not completely stopped working. My vehicle is no longer safe to drive.
Ram (Stellantis) has had a antilock brake recall going for more than 2 years. No parts are available. The recall documentation on this website says that braking could fail causing an accident. My truck is included in the recall. The dealer and Ram say it is ok to drive. The dashboard board lights are constantly going off. What do I do? I need the truck to pull heavy loads. Is it safe? When will parts be available? After almost 3 years, they could redesigned the whole truck.

2018 Ram 2500 Tradesmen 6.7 liter diesel. My ABS hydraulic control unit failed at 41000 miles. I paid over $1400 to have a new HCU installed. It failed again at 82000 miles. In Nov 2024, NHTSA Recall Number 24V-896 was issued. 2 years later I am now at 109,000 miles and there still is not a remedy available for my truck, and Stellantis refuses to refund me the $1400 for the original reapir cost that failed.

The truck started with a death wobble in the steering. Ball joints, bushing, stabilizer bar replaced front end work was done. Brought to the dealership approx 4 times for the same steering problem. It still has a small wobble pulling to the Rt or left. Steering was very loose but has been tightened up with a replaced steering shock. But the steering wobble continues had the steering gear box replaced twice. Dealership does not know how to fix the problem.

I experienced a complete loss of hydraulic brake pressure while driving home from work, creating a serious safety hazard. The dealership later confirmed that the failure was caused by the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU), which is currently under an active recall (C4B). However, the dealership informed me that they are unable to complete the repair because there is no available remedy for this recall at this time. When I contacted Stellantis corporate, I spoke with Damon, who advised that the dealership could temporarily repair the vehicle using a stock part. Unfortunately, the dealership has stated they cannot source that part, and even if they could, it would not be a true resolution since it is the same component known to fail. As a result, my vehicle is completely inoperable, and I have not been provided with any viable solution. This recall was issued in 2024, and the fact that there is still no remedy available is extremely concerning and appears negligent given the safety risk involved. I am requesting that Stellantis take immediate action to provide a safe and permanent repair solution, as well as support for my current situation.
The ABS system light is on and off and dings all the time. The ABS system has been confirmed by my local dealer who told me at least a year ago that there was a remedy but they werent doing my year of truck yet. I recently called again and was told that I could not get it fixed under the recall but that I could pay 1000 out of my own pocket to get it fixed. I then called recall hotline for the truck and the lady told me that it was escalated and that I would be contacted the next week. That was 2 weeks ago and noone has contacted me. I do pull a trailer with heavy skidloader behind it and not having a functional ABS system is dangerous. In addition listening to the vehicle ding for hours on end while driving is also an extreme nusiance.
The brake hydraulic control unit recall has been going on for a long time. This renders the truck with no anti-lock brakes. The new replacement part is available on the market but dealers will not make the repair on the 2500 series trucks, only 3500.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
