I am contacting you regarding my 2025 Ram 1500 with an open safety recall (Manufacturer Recall #03D, NHTSA #26V-059). Case Number [XXX] This recall has been active since February 2, 2026, and my dealer has informed me that parts are still not available. It has now been over a month with no clear timeline for repair. I need clarification on the following: I keep calling the manufacture they told me that the recall parts are not available. appreciate escalation of this matter due to the extended delay. Thank you for your prompt attention. Sincerely, INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While towing a loaded horse trailer, I received a red "trailer brake" warning light on the instrument cluster indicating that the trailer brakes were no longer connected. I confirmed that the trailer brakes were not working by attempting to activate them manually with the trailer brake controller. There was no response from the controller and no brakes on the trailer functioned. Within about 3-4 minutes of the trailer brake issue, I also lost all trailer lights on the trailer. When this happened, I decided to pull over in a safe area and attempt to check the trailer connections. All trailer connections were securely installed, free from any damage, and had functioned flawlessly for days prior. I was forced to continue to my destination without trailer brakes or trailer lights despite being stuck in a substantially strong thunderstorm with heavy rain and low visibility. When I reached my destination, I called my selling dealership to report the issue. I was told by the service advisor that they had "hundreds" of trucks on a wait list and that Ram was only sending them one repair part per week. He also stated that they hadn't recently received any parts and had no idea when more would become available. Their only suggestion was to "call and complain" to corporate, and that there was nothing more they could do. This incident with truck occurred on March 20th 2026. I had already called the dealership on March 6th after discovering (via NHTSA site) that my truck had been flagged f

On Friday evening, while driving my new Ram 1500 Tungsten on a freeway, the engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle suddenly lost power. I was traveling at highway speed at the time. Almost immediately after the loss of power, gasoline began pooling underneath the truck. Because of the visible fuel leak and strong gasoline odor, my wife and I exited the vehicle and stood well away from it due to the potential fire risk. We were stranded on the side of a busy freeway in the dark for over an hour while waiting for a tow truck. The vehicle was ultimately towed to a Ram dealership. The truck had approximately 3,766 miles on it at the time of the incident. As of the date of this report, the vehicle has been at the dealership for 6 days and has not yet been inspected or diagnosed. I personally visited the dealership and observed that the vehicle is still sitting in the same location where it was placed when it was towed in. This incident involved a sudden loss of power on a freeway combined with an active fuel leak, which created a potentially dangerous situation due to the risk of fire and the hazard of being stranded in traffic. The vehicle is nearly new and had fewer than 4,000 miles at the time of the failure.
Hello I have filed a complaint about this vehicle just recently Feb 10, 2026 NHTSA - filed complaint 1-888-327-4236 ODI- Office of Defect Investigation Reference # 11717085 Here is a video from earlier today and it took my ParkView® Rear Back-Up Camera ParkView® Rear Back-Up Camera 7 seconds before it displayed in my infotainment screen. The truck is defective and unsafe as stated in the first complaint. I took snapshots as I could not load the video here but it shows the timeline.
The driver's side headlight does not illuminate the center of the road. There is a dark spot. The headlight was replaced but the issue still persists. This is dangerous and cannot see the road adequately.
The contact owns a 2025 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving downhill in the mountains at approximately 50 MPH and pulling a 2024 Ember 190MSL Overland RV, the brake pedal was depressed, and the vehicle decelerated as intended; however, the trailer brakes failed to engage, causing the RV to roll sideways and to crash into the rear of the vehicle. The RV's weight distribution was fractured, causing the front end of the vehicle to spin against the guard rail and to face the opposite direction. The contact shifted to Park(P). The RV's weight distribution pinned the muffler, and the bed panel of the vehicle was damaged during the crash. Additionally, the vehicle sustained front-end damage. The check engine warning light was illuminated after the crash. The air bags did not deploy. The were no reported injuries. The vehicle was towed to an autobody repair shop, where it was being repaired. The RV was towed and totaled. The insurance company accident reconstruction specialist confirmed that the accident had occurred due to trailer brakes failure. The contact learned about NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V059000(Exterior Lighting, Electrical System) in the news and confirmed that the VIN was included. The contact related the failure to the recall. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was contacted and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 3,290.

When I receive an alert for approaching emergency vehicle EVAS (Emergency Vehicle Alert System) powered by HAAS, the audio is completely muted on my radio and the only way to fix it is to manually reset the radio, which requires digging into the menu, taking eyes off the road, it's the opposite of safe. My audio will not work after receiving one of these alerts until the radio is reset.

As I was driving at 55mph on the hwy I started smelling gas. I thought it was the car in front of me so I was just going to pass him, but quickly realized I did not have the power to pass another car. So I pulled over on the highway and got out of my truck and noticed flames dripping from the center of the vehicle by looking at the front driver wheel area. I tried to put out with a fire extinguisher that a bystander had given me, but it was just too late in the truck was engulfed in flames.

I am writing to formally escalate a serious and ongoing defect involving my Ram 1500. Despite multiple repair attempts at an authorized dealership, the issue has not been resolved. The vehicle repeatedly shuts off unexpectedly, which creates a significant safety risk while driving. I have already taken the vehicle to the dealership three separate times to address this problem, and the defect continues to persist. Because the dealership has been unable to properly repair the vehicle after multiple attempts, I am requesting that this matter be immediately escalated to a regional case manager and a Ram Field Technical Specialist for review. In addition, I would like to formally report a very concerning interaction with your customer care department. When I contacted customer care to seek assistance regarding this issue, the representative I spoke with was extremely rude and unprofessional. During the call, the agent refused to provide her name or identification when I asked, and the call ended with the representative hanging up the phone while I was still trying to address my concerns. This experience was very disappointing and did not reflect the level of customer service I expected. Given the repeated repair attempts and the ongoing safety concern, this situation may qualify under the New York Lemon Law. If the defect cannot be resolved promptly, I will pursue the remedies available under the New York Lemon Law, including a possible vehicle replacement or manufacturer buyback.
Received notice of recall 03D via Ram trucks mobile app. Called my local dealership to schedule the truck in for the recall. I was told “there are no parts available at this time to satisfy the recall” and that the dealership has over 400 vehicles currently on a wait list for parts.
When stopped for a short period of time like at a traffic light/ in a traffic back up driving 5-10 mph the truck will shut off and all electronic will shut off as well it takes 5-10 seconds to restart the truck wich is very unsafe in heavy traffic
Ram recall 03D, NHTSA-26V-059. The Ram dealer stated replacement "trailer control modules" will be installed in unsold units first, not existing owners of sold units. My vehicle has NOT been repaired. The Ram app states my recall issue is resolved- it is not. I cannot safely and legally tow my trailer because of this issue. Stellantis needs to be held accountable as the manufacturer WAS aware of this issue before I was allowed to purchase the truck.
There have been systemic cylinder misfires (each cylinder), anomalous electrical architecture behavior, and transmission calibration irregularities. The check engine light indicated multiple cylinder misfires, which I understand from the dealer is a common issue with the 2025 model. As the driver, there are a few major issues: Chassis Vibration-pronounced shaking or shuddering transmitted through the steering wheel and seat, particularly during the first engine start of the day or idling. Idle Instability-An erratic or surging idle, where the tachometer needle fluctuates noticeably without any throttle input. Throttle Hesitation-A distinct stumble, lethargy, or loss of power when attempting to accelerate from a stop or while merging. It also requires more energy to accelerate, and stops faster. This problem has been addressed at three (3) CDJR dealerships now, and is still ongoing. The car only has 26k miles on it.
While driving into town, the dashboard illuminated with every warning light before the vehicle suffered a total electronic and engine shutdown. This happened twice—the second time while I was mid-turn in an intersection. Several vehicles had to slam on their brakes to avoid a high-speed collision with my stalled truck. I had to get the vehicle towed as it is fundamentally unsafe to operate.

Driving while pulling a trailer using the towing package included on u-connect. When applying pressure to the brake pedal the trailer brakes locked up and the driver had trouble maintaing control of the truck. The turn signal and brake lights on the trailer do not work while hooked up the wiring harness.
I stopped for red light and waited for about 2 minutes for light to turn green. I took my foot off the brake pedal and put it on the gas pedal. Truck refused to go forward. Message in IP flashed ad stated to go into to park then back to drive. I failed on first attempt and had to do the procedure again to get truck to move forward. I think this is equivalent to stalling out at a stop. This has happened to me about 4 times total, 2 times today. No warning lights stay ,like a check engine light. Luckily haven't been rear ended yet. unable to take picture since i have to get truck going in traffic. If my wife was driving she might panic and be stalled out in traffic.
Battery drains completely dead and will not take a charge. I bought this vehicle just under 1 year ago and 3 batteries main batteries have had to be be replaced, and 2 secondary batteries. Something is draining and killing the batteries and the dealership cannot find the cause. This has left me stranded without a vehicle 3 times in less than a year.
The contact owns a 2025 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at a slow speed, the instrument panel went dark. The contact entered the parking lot of a grocery store, and the instrument panel was still dark. The vehicle was turned off and restarted after several minutes, but the instrument panel was still dark. The gear shift lever was shifted to drive(D), and the vehicle failed to move or function as intended. The gear shift lever was shifted to reverse(R), and the vehicle failed to function as intended. After several attempts, the vehicle was able to drive forward; however, the instrument panel was still dark. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed. The vehicle was restarted to drive back to the residence, and the instrument panel illuminated as intended, and the gear lever operated as intended. On a separate occasion, the message "Warning Light Illumination Unavailable -Service Required" was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the instrument cluster had an intermittent internal fault and needed to be replaced. The instrument panel was replaced. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, the infotainment system failed to function as intended and displayed a blue screen. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The infotainment screen was replaced. The contact stated that the system glitched. Most recently, while driving at 40-50 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted t
I was driving at around 40mph, my vehicle turned off with all the lights in the dashboard being turned on. I had no power steering or breaks in my vehicle. With no ability to break my moving car I pulled into a parking lot almost crashing with another vehicle. I couldn’t turn out my car in parking and the lights in the dashboard stayed on.
Instrument cluster blank screen unable to view speed of vehicle. Vehicle serviced for recall of cluster, recall performed yet trouble reoccurred after repair.
Transmission continues to shift poorly - will not shift to 8th at speeds over 55 MPH, drops from 8th to 7th continuously. Has been to the shop 2 May 2025 - flashed the transmission, 8 Sep 2025 flashed the transmission, 20 Jan 2026 updated transmission. Updates work for short periods of time. Truck only has 11769 miles
The automatic locking of the vehicle doors when the speed reaches approximately 15 mph will not occur. This is supposed to prevent inadvertent door opening while at speed. Local dealer has verified the conditions as other vehicles were also deficient.
The contact owns a 2025 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, while starting the vehicle, several warning lights illuminated after manually starting the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions. While attempting to shift the vehicle into 4WD, the vehicle failed to respond and remained in 2WD. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.
When turn signal is engaged (left, right, or hazard,) the normal turn signal sound randomly changes pitch and tone. This is an intermittent problem. Dealership has updated software which did not fix the problem. The signal lights work but the sound makes it seem as if there is a warning other than a normal turn signal sound. There are at least two social media posts about this exact issue on a 2025 and 2026 Ram 1500.
For the sixth time, the vehicle has stopped in mid traffic. A couple of close incidents of almost getting hit in two lane traffic, at stop lights surrounded by traffic, on interstate. The incident today came after a supposed, "final fix" for the blind spot warning. It is not a warning, the vehicle completely hard brakes to a complete stop and shut down of all systems. We have to quickly respond, turn the button on quickly and hope it starts. I am now terrified to drive the vehicle. The original dealer told me to take to local dealer, they acted like I was crazy trying to describe these incidents, initially, but then 2 weeks ago, they had a service recall that stated exactly what I had experienced. It does not work. I am terrified to drive it and invested over 90,000 in a quality, American built truck to be dismissed, then believed and survived. I can't keep it, please help.
The auto stop/start "feature" does not work properly. When it malfunctions, the vehicle goes into Park and requires to be turned off and back on again. This happened to me coming out of my neighborhood at a yield sign. I stopped very briefly as it was a Yield sign. The engine shut off and it threw a MIL. I had to turn it off and back on. I took it to the dealer who said they did a flash upgrade and reset the MIL. Since then it has done it to my wife multiple times. One time was at an intersection and she panicked which caused more delay in getting the vehicle going again. It almost seems like a stall. When I disable the stop/start with the button on the dash it (obviously) does not have this problem. The auto stop/start needs to be eliminated from vehicles without fear of voiding warranties.
Hello! car in question was involved in a car accident 12/23/2025- with over $38,000 in repairs, damage frame and heavy front end damage the air bags DID NOT deploy. We are extremely concerned and honestly upset that the unit that is meant to protect didnt do its job. Although there was no injuries but the amount of force of the impact is concerning
Remote starter on my 2025 Ram 1500 Big Horn frequently fails to operated in cold weather (below ~30F). The truck will flash the lights and then abort the remote start without starting the engine. The vehicle starts normally using the push-button inside the truck. This issue is intermittent but recurring multiple times. No warning lights are displayed. Dealer is unable to reproduce the problem. This may be a software or electrical defect affecting safe or predictable operation in cold conditions.
Vehicle has experienced multiple incidents of sudden loss of propulsion, including at highway speeds. Engine revs when accelerator is applied but vehicle does not accelerate, as if in neutral. Multiple warning lights illuminate, including “Service Transmission.” I narrowly avoided a rear-end collision. Diagnostic codes recorded include U0402 (invalid data from transmission control module) and U1003 (CAN communication fault). Vehicle has required towing for one incident and multiple service visits with no permanent fix. This is a safety concern 11/3/25 Loss of propulsion at highways speeds 11/28/25 Loss of propulsion 1/10/26 loss of propulsion at highway speeds
The contact owns a 2025 Ram 1500. The contact had experienced several electrical failures since purchasing the vehicle brand new. The contact stated that there was a sudden loss of power steering functionality, and the Lane Keep Assist would engage and normally vibrated the steering wheel; however, the vehicle and steering wheel continued to vibrate after the vehicle was centered. Additionally, the vehicle lost the instrument cluster image and power window functionality. The master window lock switch on the driver's side console had never worked since purchasing the vehicle. The failures were intermittent. The contact stated that occasionally, several warning lights were illuminated during the failures. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed, and determined that the TFT module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer and was still being diagnosed. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact back to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.
The contact owns a 2025 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the voltage meter warning light illuminated. The contact stated that occasionally the vehicle needed to be jump-started. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer on two occasions, and the two main batteries were replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4.
The tow mirrors that are on this vehicle have to many blind spots and have caused us to have multiple situations of very close wrecks. The latest date being 1/7/2026
While operating the vehicle, the engine shut off unexpectedly and without warning while the vehicle was in traffic. In one incident, the vehicle was stopped at a traffic light and, when the accelerator was pressed after the light turned green, the engine cut off and the transmission automatically shifted into PARK. The vehicle became disabled in active traffic with other vehicles behind it. A similar incident occurred previously in a parking lot. The vehicle began sputtering and then shut off when shifted into reverse, again forcing the transmission into PARK. These events occurred after the vehicle had recently been returned from an authorized dealership where it was reported that all issues were repaired. The malfunction appears to involve the engine, electrical system, and powertrain, specifically a loss of engine power combined with an unintended automatic shift into PARK. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and is currently back at an authorized dealership for service. These failures placed my safety and the safety of others at risk by leaving the vehicle suddenly disabled in traffic, blocking lanes, and creating a risk of rear-end collision. One incident occurred during morning rush hour with surrounding vehicles, increasing the risk to other motorists. The problem has occurred multiple times and has been reported to and inspected by authorized dealerships on several occasions. Diagnostic testing, software/system updates, electrical inspections, and com
2025 Ram 4x4 had approx 2500 miles when the instrument panel went completely blank. Was driving so pulled over, turned off engine, then back on with no cure. Went to my destination, parked the truck for 4 hrs and when returned problem was gone. Went to the dealer to report the issue and they said there wasn't a fix. Now I have received a safety recall on the truck 3 weeks later. I'll go back to the dealer to see what they can do???
Shortly after purchasing the vehicle, I began experiencing intermittent electrical and driver assistance system malfunctions. These issues included warning messages, unexpected system behavior, and periods where multiple advanced driver assistance features were unavailable or disabled. The problem first occurred around April 4, 2025, at approximately 665 miles. Since then, the issue has occurred intermittently and has been difficult to predict or reliably reproduce. I brought the vehicle to an authorized dealer multiple times for warranty repair. On at least one visit, the dealer was unable to duplicate the concern. On subsequent visits, the dealer performed warranty-related diagnostics and repairs; however, the original issues have not been clearly confirmed as resolved. At times, the vehicle was deemed drivable but not confirmed to be fully repaired. Manufacturer technical assistance (STAR/engineering) has been involved in reviewing data and test results. As of the most recent service visit, the vehicle remains under review, and I do not have confirmation that the root cause has been identified or corrected. The intermittent nature of the malfunction and loss of driver assistance features creates concern for vehicle reliability and safety, especially when the systems fail without warning.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
