2023 Ram 1500 V6 eTorque, 40,000 miles. Two stalling incidents have occurred under different conditions. Incident 1: While towing approximately 4,000 lbs, the 12V battery began slowly draining while the vehicle was in motion. Battery voltage gradually dropped below 10 volts until the engine shut off completely while driving. No warning lights appeared prior to shutdown. Jump start restored normal operation. Stored fault codes retrieved afterward showed 16 simultaneous voltage fault codes across every major module including ECU, ABS, EPS, DDM, PDM, CSWM, IFC, PTS and SCCM — all logging system voltage below allowable range simultaneously, consistent with a complete charging system failure. PCM also logged a U0401 code indicating implausible data received, consistent with the PCM losing stable voltage. Incident 2: After approximately 45 minutes of low-speed driving (5-10 mph) in a Walmart parking lot, the vehicle stalled without warning on a busy road in [XXX] . My wife and two young children were in car seats in the vehicle at the time. The engine cut off completely in live moving traffic with no warning. I was forced to exit the vehicle and jump start it in the middle of traffic while my children remained strapped in their car seats, creating a serious and dangerous situation. Jump start restored normal operation. On the subsequent highway drive home, battery voltage was observed declining from 14V to 13.2V over the course of the drive, suggesting the charging system is unable

The major, widely reported, 1.4-million-vehicle Ram recall regarding malfunctioning tailgates that may open while driving primarily affects 2019–2022 model year Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks, not the 2023 model year. The issue stems from misaligned striker plates that can cause the tailgate to unlatch.
The dash board showed the (A)auto start stop amd the (P) parking brake after hitting a puddle in rain. I brought the vehicle into the dealership for service on 4/18/2025 . They replaced the right rear caliper and EPB actuator and it temporarily fixed it. The lights still came on but would go off in rainy conditions. They came back on and didn’t go off so I brought it back to the dealership in again on 3/2/2026. First said they would fix the same part now after having my truck for 2 weeks claim it’s not the parking brake actuator but the main wiring harness and refuse to fix it under warranty of their work. I am now told by them they have to replace the entire wiring harness on my expense. Called customer support at ram truck and still haven’t heard back if they would do anything
I own a Ram 1500 Big Horn that has repeatedly shut off while driving and entered limp mode, causing sudden loss of power and engine shaking. This has occurred both while driving and while stopped at intersections, creating a serious safety hazard in traffic. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership more than nine times for the same issue, but they initially claimed they could not diagnose the problem because no codes were present. The vehicle recently broke down again and the dealership retrieved diagnostic codes P2172, C121C00, B151A100, and U100300, indicating airflow and CAN bus communication issues. Ram ordered an alternator to fix the truck, but the first part received was defective and had to be reordered, further delaying repairs. Despite being a loyal customer since 2019, I have repeatedly received substandard service and temporary fixes from Ram, and the truck remains unsafe and unreliable. The problem is unresolved, and I am concerned this defect could cause the vehicle to stall in traffic and potentially lead to an accident.
* Sudden shutdown while driving * Dash failure * “Vehicle not in park” message * RF hub failure * Recall references While driving at highway speeds and without warning the entire dashboard shut off and the vehicle lost power. The message “Vehicle Not in Park” appeared. My son was forced to coast off the highway to safety. Once the vehicle stopped, it shifted itself into park. The truck restarted briefly but failed again shortly after. Luckily this time he was able to drift into a nearby gas station. At that point the vehicle had no dashboard lights, no ignition response, and no electrical power to the drivetrain, though interior lights still worked. Vehicle would not start and needed to be towed to the dealership where is sat for 12 days before they replaced a water damaged RF hub. There was no cracks or leaks located but there was water damage. Weather conditions: Sunny and dry, temperatures in the mid-50s. This failure created a dangerous situation. While driving at highway speed. This incident placed my sons life and the lives of others on the road in danger. Since this frightening event, we have conducted extensive research and discovered that this appears to be a well-documented issue affecting Dodge Ram trucks, specifically involving moisture entering the cab and damaging the RF hub, which can cause electrical failures and loss of drive power. The dash shutting off and truck losing power while driving — is a major safety issue. Situations like this are known to fall und
The Auto Start-Stop system is not working properly. Three times it has failed to restart when sitting a traffic light. I believe this is safety issue because I could be rear ended if a vehicle is not aware of my vehicle not starting to move with traffic. The Auto Start-Stop can only be manually stopped by turning it off in the vehicle ever time to start to use it. This system needs fixed or there could be an accident on the road.

NAVAGATION SYSTEM DIRECTS TO TURN OFF THE ROAD into fields , the emergency SOS system does not operate , it is affecting the heads up display information , 7 times in for service , still not working freezes center console with SOS not working and and freezes dash with map loading
The uconnect 4 system that controls everything on the vehicle will randomly reboot while being driven, disabling safety systems like reverse cameras during the reboot, and leaving the UI for uconnect incomplete after restart is completed so vehicle settings are not available until vehicle has been turned off for over 10 minutes. I believe that this is due to bugged wifi drivers since it seems to reboot when it tries to connect to android auto. I have video of a reboot showing my truck in reverse for exponentially longer than the required two seconds for the camera to come on but it is too large to upload here.
2023-2025 dodge rams and promasters 20,000miles to 70,000 miles my truck has 69,432 miles dash boards are getting so hot the radios are going into overheat mode the head units are hot to the touch the cigerette 12volt outlets are melting anything in them. My heater core erupted in my truck last week and the coolant vaporized into a thick smoke that smothered me in my cabin that i had to pull over and air our my vehicle i believe this is due to the dash boards getting really hot i took it to savage dodge on 61 in reading pa 19605 they diagnosed it as a heater core and heater core hoses. I called Stellantis manufacturing to ask them to review the manufacturing defect the customer service line wants nothing to do with this even after i stressed to them the dangers of inhaling vaporized coolant and the fire hazard their dash boards present. They keep denying the claim to fix this and I am trying to stop someone from dying before they decide to correct the problem. I am a 10 year master mechanic and 8 year master diagnostician in the auto industry this needs to be addressed my friends 25 dodge promaster with 21,xxx miles on it had the heater core erupt on his too but his is inder warranty. But they want no parts in achknowledging this massive issue.
THE AUTO START STOP HAS MALFUNCTIONED 3 TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE WHOLE TRUCK GOES INTO STOP MODE THE 1ST 2 TIMES I WAS AT A STPOP SIGN SO IT JUST MADE THE PEOPLE BEHIND ME MAD THIS LAST TIME I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS 55MPH THE LIGHT TURNED GREEEN AND THE TRUCK SHUP OFF TURNED ON THE EMERGENY BRAKE AND WOULD NOT MOVE. I PUSHED AS MANY BUTTONS AS I COULD THE PROBLEM WAS I SAW A SEMI COMING IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR AND NOW THE LIGHT IS GREEN AND I'M NOT MOVING THIS IS A VERYSCARY THING
My 2023 Ram 1500 TRX has recurring safety-related failures of the infotainment system affecting both Uconnect 5 (12” screen) and earlier Uconnect 4 units. These issues are widespread in 2021–2024 Ram TRX and Ram 1500 models and began or worsened after forced over-the-air updates. The primary defect is screen failures while driving. When the screen goes black or freezes, the truck loses all functions controlled through the display, including HVAC/defrost, backup camera, vehicle settings, seat controls, and performance gauges. This creates an immediate safety hazard: I cannot adjust climate/defrost, cannot see the required rear-view camera when shifting to reverse, and cannot access key vehicle information. Owners across multiple years consistently report: • Black screens, freezes, and reboots • Loss of HVAC control and dual-zone functions • Backup camera not displaying • Vehicle/Apps tabs failing to open • Uconnect error messages • Smaller, harder-to-read gauges after updates • Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto failures • No option to decline or roll back OTA updates These failures distract the driver, remove access to federally required equipment (rear camera), and eliminate visibility and climate controls that directly affect safe operation. The system becomes unpredictable and unstable despite the vehicle being in motion. My vehicle experiences the same issues, including a frozen screen while driving, loss of HVAC, camera not available, etc. Because this affects essential safet
While driving at roadway speeds, the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of the instrument cluster and infotainment display, immediately followed by an engine shutdown. Steering and braking assistance were reduced during the event, requiring immediate driver intervention to safely maneuver the vehicle. The failure occurred without warning. No prior warning messages or indicators were visible before the loss of power and instrumentation. After the vehicle coasted and was restarted, all systems appeared to return to normal operation. This condition has occurred more than once and presents a serious safety risk, especially at highway speeds, due to loss of engine power and driver information. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership and remained there for over three weeks for inspection. The manufacturer was consulted, but the condition could not be duplicated during testing. No repairs were performed, and the vehicle is being released back to the owner with instructions to drive it until the condition occurs again. The issue has not been resolved, and the vehicle remains susceptible to an unexpected shutdown while driving, which could result in a crash or loss of vehicle control.
Vehicle brake pedal is not fully depressing to normal state after use. This is causing the break lights to remain on until you pull the pedal itself back to resting state. If you do not do this the cruise control will not work. The ESC error light and Service Trailer Brake System error continue to come on.

Two occurrences where the vehicle stalls when accelerating from a stop, shifts into park, and applies the parking brake. I believe this is the same issue as the PE24018 investigation.

This creates an immediate safety hazard: I cannot adjust climate/defrost, cannot see the required rear-view camera when shifting to reverse, and cannot access key vehicle information. In my TRX I have experienced screen freezing, inability to access the rear view camera, audio skipping issues, and various pages missing that were previously available. This is not an isolated incident related to my truck as I have seen reports of many other owners sharing issues that started after OTA updates including: • Black screens, freezes, and reboots • Loss of HVAC control and dual-zone functions • Backup camera not displaying • Vehicle/Apps tabs failing to open • Uconnect error messages • Smaller, harder-to-read gauges after updates • Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto failures • No option to decline or roll back OTA updates These failures distract the driver, remove access to federally required equipment (rear camera), and eliminate visibility and climate control
While driving, the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of electrical voltage. Multiple warning messages appeared, and several vehicle systems disabled while the vehicle was in motion. Power and safety features malfunctioned, and the parking brake engaged unexpectedly. The vehicle became unsafe to operate while driving. The failure required towing and a battery replacement to restore drivability. The battery failure occurred as part of an active charging system malfunction, not a no-start condition. This event created a serious safety risk to the driver and others on the roadway due to loss of vehicle control and disabled safety systems
Going up I-20 to get a load of wood for barns. I noticed when I got to the saw mill I could not select the trailer brake through the radio.. Trailer brakes are stuck on Light electric, I have had the trailer grounds checked and the magnets to the brakes on the trailer replaced. Again, Trailer brakes are stuck on Light electric and cannot select the heavy electric/ heavy over hydraulic/ light over hydraulic. Stellantis group finally told the dealership that they know about the problem but there is no fix for it yet. This was the purpose of purchasing this vehicle as a work truck with the trailer tow package. They have replaced everything that pertains to the trailer brakes. The BCM, the trailer brake module twice, and even the radio. The wiring has been checked it only puts out 6.5 volt at the plug. Brake type is greyed out.

The contact owns a 2023 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 6 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power, and the parking brake unexpectedly engaged. The contact manually disengaged the parking brake. The contact was able to restart the vehicle; however, a message to “Shift to Park” was displayed, and the low-battery and low-voltage warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the failure persisted after restarting the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed. The mechanic informed the contact that the battery had not failed but that the vehicle was experiencing voltage errors. The contact was informed that the battery did not need to be replaced, and no repairs were performed. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed; however, the dealer retrieved DTC: P032F. The dealer informed the contact that the failure could not be duplicated, but advised the contact that the battery was failing. The exact cause of the battery failure could not be determined. The dealer replaced the battery. The vehicle was later taken to another dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was informed that the failure could not be duplicated and that the cause of the battery failure could not be identified. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 7,000.
Ram released a software update to the Uconnect system, and it has disabled navigation, drive mode, and rear camera. This has been nonfunctional now since April so about eight months and they are saying they’re not releasing any new software updates at this time to fix it. I’ve taken it to the dealer and they also cannot fix until there’s a software update from RAM.

The contact owns a 2023 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing an inaccurate fuel gauge reading. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, the fuel gauge displayed that the fuel mileage was 18, but the vehicle suddenly lost motive power, prompting the contact to pull over to the side of the road. The contact parked the vehicle and took an Uber to his destination. The contact later returned and added fuel to the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on three occasions. The dealer reset the computer, and the module K1 fuel pump leveling unit was replaced, and the instrument cluster was reprogrammed as per TSB Number: 08-234-24; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,360.
The vehicle was sold with oversized 35-inch tires but was never recalibrated for speedometer, odometer, or tire pressure monitoring systems. The vehicle’s speedometer reads approximately 7 mph slower than actual speed, making the odometer inaccurate as well. This affects braking, ABS, traction control, and engine timing. The door placard still lists the original 265/70R17 tires, meaning the vehicle no longer meets the safety certification indicated by the label. The dealership did not disclose these modifications. I have had two tire failures due to rubbing and unsafe fitment.
The contact owns a 2023 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed a coolant odor coming from the vehicle. Additionally, the contact noticed a puddle of condensation underneath the front end of the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle drove normally and there were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken a dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the radiator was cracked and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred 6 months later. The vehicle was then taken to the same dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the new radiator had cracked and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The contact stated that a friend who was a mechanic also inspected the vehicle and stated that the radiator needed to be replaced due to a crack. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000.
On approximately September 2024, after a few months of purchasing my vehicle new, the manufacturer installed battery died. This required me to jump it every time I needed to start it over the course of a week. A local dealership replaced it under warranty, though I noticed when I was driving the parasitic drain on the battery would continue. This repair was done through the Berlin City CDJR dealership located in Gorham, New Hampshire. I suspect if I drove long enough, critical systems would not function correctly while driving due to the battery dying. Today, I noticed the same issue arising. The battery died again, presumably from the same parasitic drain, and voltage was sitting around 10 amps. I would approximate that, over the past six months, the hybrid system has not been functioning as normal when I first purchased the vehicle. The trucks display notes why/when auto/start stop doesnt work. Over the past few months it displays that the battery is charging so auto/stop start is disabled, no matter how far/long I drive. It’s concerning to think what may happen if the hybrid system connected to the truck dies. The first time the regular battery died the display noted low voltage. For this most recent incident, it did not.
As I was driving, my battery light ignited the voltage on my battery continuously went down. I stopped at a stop sign. The engine shut off car completely stopped. Lights were working on dashboard and display screen, but vehicle would not start jumped vehicle as soon as cables were taken off vehicle battery went dead again then all of a sudden it started up again but something is still not right.
Sun visor fell off while driving a 2nd time, the first times was repaired under warranty at about 5k miles A quick google search will show this is a common enough problem, in multiple models, that there is an aftermarket fix for visors for rams and jeeps.
I was moving forward about 5 mph to merge on to the main road when the emergency brake engaged, engine shut off, steering wheel locked and the 2023 Ram 1500 stopped blocking traffic. Instrument panel instructed me what to do . This was a dangerous situation especially if I was moving at a greater speed.
The electrical and battery system on my 2023 Ram 1500 Big Horn has repeatedly malfunctioned, causing a severe parasitic battery drain that leaves the vehicle completely inoperable. The problem began in Fall 2024 and has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealer multiple times. Despite numerous repair attempts, the underlying issue has not been resolved. The truck has been at the dealership continuously since October 2024, and technicians have been unable to determine or fix the root cause. The vehicle experiences total battery failure within hours or days of sitting idle, even after multiple new batteries and modules were installed. The faulty electrical component/system is available for inspection at the dealership. This ongoing electrical drain presents a serious safety risk, as the truck can lose all power unpredictably, preventing it from starting or responding to electronic controls. Before complete failure, the truck would display warning lights, low-voltage messages, and random electrical faults, including systems shutting off unexpectedly. The issue has been inspected and documented by the dealership under an open case with Ram Customer Care, yet no resolution has been achieved. I have been without my vehicle for nearly five months, and the same problem has persisted for almost a year.
I have taken my truck in to the dealership twice already for the same issue and they are telling me they cannot find the issue. My truck would not start, so I replaced the battery. Noticed that the voltage would drop after driving it about 20 miles or so. Normal range is 13.5V. Starting the truck, it starts out at 13.5V but after about 20 miles or so, the voltage would drop to 12.5V. Dealership could not find out why. Engine light is not on but the voltage drops every single time I drive. I bought it with 11 miles on it in June of 2023 and didn't have this issue until September of 2025. The truck only had about 37,400 miles on it when it started messing up. I am scared/worried that the truck will just stop while driving. I have read many forums and stories about many others are having this issue too. The Motor Generator Unit (MGU) malfunctioning. There are recalls for 2019-2022 MGU but not for 2023 or later.
Faulty backup camera. Does not display image of people walking behind vehicle or any image at all.
The contact owns a 2023 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while either starting the vehicle, driving, or parking, the steering wheel was loose and then became tightened. Additionally, there was a burning odor near the front of the vehicle while driving 25 MPH. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the steering rack had failed, and the steering rack lubricant had leaked out, resulting in the burning odor. The dealer replaced the steering rack, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was then taken to a second dealer, Nielsen Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram of East Hanover (175 NJ-10, East Hanover, NJ 07936), who replaced the steering shaft and column, as well as the steering rack twice; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
In August of this year while the truck was moving, it just shut off and the parking brake was engaged. I brought it to the dealer and they checked the truck through the computer. They could not find any issues. Just this past Saturday 9/27/2025 while i was backing up into a parking space, the vehicle shut down again in gear and the parking brake was again engaged. I call the Service dept at Gainesville Dodge in Florida and have another appt for a week from tomorrow. The first occurrence was 8/2026 I called another dealership in Starke Florida and spoke to their service dept. They informed me they have had the same issue with other Ram trucks but cannot find the cause. This unexpected shutting down is extremely dangerious! I searched the internet and found this issue is not uncommon. There were many reports of the same issue happening to other owners. Shutting down on a major highway can cause a major accident when this occurs. This needs to be looked into by your agency. Thank you.
I have been trying to get the turn signal recall fixed on my truck for the past year. After I make a left turn, the turn signal only turns off about 1/2 of the time. The first 4 times I spoke to them both in person and over the phone, they said they were waiting on the part. When I spoke to them last week, the parts guy said he had the part, but I would have to pay for it since the system showed the recall had been fixed. No one has ever even worked on the turn signal, other than to test it, which was at the end of 2024.
I bought a 2023 Ram 1500 brand new off the lot and the vehicle is only less than 3 years old. I was hoping the with me buying a brand new Ram that I would not have a major issue such as the fuel pump failing which caused me to pay $1809.64 out of pocket cost on a practically new vehicle. The fuel pump and the control module were both faulty with the dealer findings. With only 1000 miles over warranty, I think that this does not make since for such a major issue with a practically new vehicle that is not cover under the powertrain warranty. The vehicle has been taken in for regular maintenance. I would appreciate a refund of the amount paid to cover my loss
Truck sways alot with high winds.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
