This is a 2020 Ram 1500 3.6L Big Horn. Blinker is constantly on for right turn when blinker arm is in neutral position. The only way to turn it off is to put the blinker arm down as if you are signaling a left turn. As such, I have no left turn signal. This could be dangerous for changing lanes especially on the highway. I have not brought this to a dealer yet and no one has looked at it yet except me. There was/is no warning signal. I have seen recall A2B/NHTSA 24E-082 which identifies two part numbers and also states that similar parts (SCCM) may be affected. I think I have a defective SCCM but there is no recall on my vehicle.

The alternator failed on my vehicle leaving the vehicle without any power in the middle of the interstate roadway having to manually pushed to the side of a very busy highway then towed to a repair shop afterwards. Simply put, my truck just killed in the middle of a interstate very shortly after having a low battery light come on. Speaking with the repair people at the Ram dealership there is no way to repair the alternator and they currently have over 5,000 of these on backorder from them going out in other vehicles with the same alternator. Warning lamps came on the dashboard but only about 30 minutes before the vehicle lost power and was unable to move.

While I was driving my vehicle, the power steering warning came on and moments later the steering wheel locked - I could not steer my vehicle. I stopped the vehicle and it started firing all sorts of warnings. It was like all systems went haywire. Service shifter, service power steering, service electronic stability control, acc/fcw unavailable, service required, service airbag system, collision control, check engine, anti-lock breaks. The windshield wipers started without being tuned on, the engine revved up an got very loud like an airplane engine. I turned off the vehicle. When the tow truck arrived, the truck would not start so he walked away to grab the pulley and the truck started on it's own. My biggest concern is that I lost the ability to steer while I was in motion. I was informed of a VB8 recall for power steering but told my vehicle didn't qualify. This is a serious concern! It is currently with the dealership.

Entered vehicle and notice strong smell of gasoline, driving my young kids to daycare and preschool they complained of the smell and we had to lower windows. Upon dropping them off, went to mechanic who confirmed it was a fuel system issue, fixed a valve. Following few days the truck has issues starting and is stalling and jerking at lights. I return to the mechanic who advises it is the same issue and relates to the fuel pump system failing and they have ordered the part that is on a 45 day backlog. Problem persists and make my trucks unsafe to drive and I am unable to drive it. I have spoken with RAM who advised my truck model is not included in the recall AND is freshly out of warranty. This is extremely frustrating I have to spend thousands to replace this and am unable to drive my truck for approximately 2 months IF the part arrives on time.

The vehicle had 2 leaks; 1 at the rear cabin window and 1 at the rear brake light. Both of these areas are part of a TSB/class action lawsuit. Water was getting in and caused the module to go bad. The module not working in turn caused the battery to die and because of all the failed attempts and overloading the starter, the starter ended up going out after they started fixing the module.

The low beam headlights and high beam headlights do not function properly. I thought that when one of the low beam lights went out that I needed a new bulb. Before I got to changing the bulb out, the other one went out while driving at night. I tried to make it home with my high beams on, but only one was working at the time. While driving, one of the low beams that I thought needed a bulb came back on. It seems as though all four headlights have a short somewhere and the lights work at random or not at all.

After hearing a grinding noise coming from the engine, I took the vehicle (2020 RAM 1500 w/5.7L eTorque) to the dealer. It's been waiting for a replacement MGU (Motor Generator Unit) for over 3 weeks but I'm told it might take months to get a replacement part. Fortunately, I discovered this before having a breakdown on a busy highway or up in the mountains. Had that occured, I most certainly would have lost the ability to steer the truck and braking would have been diminished. I'm hoping this manufacturing defect is elevated to safety recall status in the hope of preventing future loss of life.

The e-Torque motor generator unit is failing, rendering the truck unsafe to drive. Catastrophic failure of this unit while in operation would likely cause loss of control. Signs of failure primarily have been increasing noise in the unit common to bearing failure. The component was inspected by an independent service center and confirmed to need immediate replacement. The part is currently unavailable from any source, and the manufacturer reports a back order with no known date of availability.

My truck was taken to the ram dealership in Conway, AR and they told me it needed an ABS Module and it was ordered and that was in January of 2025 so it has now been almost a year that the part (ABS Module) has been on back order and there is still no ETA. That is a serious issue and my truck that I have still been paying on is not fit to drive safely and hasn’t been since. Something needs to be done about that and time is very much of the essence!

I took my 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiese to a Chrysler-Dodge-Ram dealership on 9/23/25 for the High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) safety recall. I was told a part had to be ordered to complete the recall and gave me a rental vehicle. After a few days I contacted the dealership about my repair. They said the wrong part was ordered and the new one was in route. After about a week, I called the dealership again and I was told "the truck won't start and they were working with Stellantis to figure out why." Several more days passed, I called again, they stated that after the new pump was installed and the truck was started it "blew a rod," but they had fixed it, test drove it, and it would be ready for pick up the next day. I picked up the truck on 10/16/25 and drove less than 50 miles (first trip home from the dealership.) While traveling at highway speed on interstate 77 at night, the truck suddenly lost all engine power, a “throttle” warning message appeared, I noticed a strong odor of burnt oil, and I was only able to get from the left passing lane across to the right truck lane, only getting 2 tires on the shoulder (see pic). The truck would not start again, it just made a click-click-click sound. I jumped out of the truck as there was a truck in that lane coming toward me and ran into the woods to escape. I purchased a brand new 2020 Ram 1500 with 5.7-liter hemi ETORQUE engine in 2020. The vehicle had been making a squealing noise since before 40k miles. Dealership was unable to identify issue on numerous occasions. On 4/8/2024, with vehicle mileage at 74k miles, the noise worsened to a point where the vehicle was not drivable. They identified the "Alternator" (MGU) to the etorque needed to be replaced. The part was on back order and did not arrive until 6/24/2025. At which the dealership replaced the part and expedited the return of the vehicle without proper assurance that the replaced part, fixed the vehicles problem. Less than 375 miles later, a system battery saver came up on the dash. Turning off all electronics in the vehicle including but not limited to A/C and radio. Temps were more than 100 at this time. Within less than 550 miles, the vehicle lost all power and shut off while in the middle of an interstate. I lost my power steering and luckily was able to move onto a narrow shoulder but was left in a very dangerous situation with my family on the side of a high-speed interstate, awaiting a tow truck for hours, without rear end protection. There were a lot of close calls and no urgency from RamCare Stellantis. I was told that the vehicle can only be seen by a certified ram technician. My 2020 Ram 1500 etorque had a major breakdown. My husband was driving down the highway in a construction zone when he lost power steering, power brakes and then the vehicle totally shut down. He had to steer it to the side of the highway, barely making it. We had the vehicle towed to the dealership who ran diagnostics on it and told us the Mechanical Generator Unit (MGU) needed to be replaced. The major issue: the MGU could not be found anywhere in the US. They wasn't able to order / backorder from anywhere. They said it could take months or longer to get the part. We couldn't go indefinitely without our truck so the dealer recommended we trade it in. That was our only option so that was what we were forced to do. We did not want another vehicle!! Ours was paid off.

I have had to replace the Driver's Side sun visor on my truck twice due to failure of the bracket holding the visor in place. The most recent time this happened was this month (August 2025). While I was entering the freeway in heavy traffic the visor fell down and was flopping in my face while I was traveling at approximately 70mph. I had the sun in my face, traffic beside me and had to use my left hand to catch the visor while avoiding a collision with a truck. The problem does not seem to be isolated to the Ram line of vehicles as we had the same problem with visor failure on my wife's 2023 Jeep Wagoner (vin [XXX] ). The bracket that holds the visor in place has a "push in tab/fitting" made of inferior material that is only about 1/8" thick and needs to be redesigned. I have attached photos of the failed part. On June 26, 2025 there was heavy thunderstorms throughout our area. I was driving to my office to pick up an item and all of a sudden my dashboard lit up with numerous error messages. I turned the truck off and could not get it to start again. I had to have it towed to the dealership and they cleaned some electrical connectors and returned it to me. My wife picked it up and on the drive home the windshield wipers went off and she also had numerous error messages on the dashboard so we returned it to the dealership. They replaced some modules as they found rust and returned the truck to me. When I went to the dealership to pick it up the truck would not start. They then said there was some corrosion in the star connectors and some moisture behind the radio. They replaced parts and returned it back to me. Since then I have had the truck back and had three more electrical issues with the vehicle. The service technician does not know what the error is and is having trouble pinpointing the problem. Its an electrical issue that they can't figure out. Tomorrow I am returning my truck for the sixth time for the same issue. I do not trust the truck to drive around and have not been able to use it for over 60 days.

While refueling my 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie with the large (33 gal) fuel tank, the fuel pump "vacuum-assisted automatic shutoff" or "nozzle shutoff mechanism" is triggered dozens of times prior to the tank actually reaching a full level. I have been experiencing this issue consistently for the past year and it has occurred, to the same degree, at each of the fill-ups conducted at a variety of gas stations during this time. I've had an independent service center diagnose the issue and they recommended I take it to a dealer for service and also report the issue because this has been a common issue they have seen. Other Ram 1500 owners on internet forums also report having had this issue. The safety issue is that gas may become trapped in a fuel system component where it shouldn't be collecting which exposes vehicle occupants to an increased risk of fire in the event of an accident. Furthermore, this condition makes it nearly impossible to know when the fuel tank is full because the shutoff mechanism is triggered many times prior to full. This results in over-filling the tank and possibly having fuel remain in the filler neck, which also unnecessarily increases the risk to vehicle occupants to fire or explosion if involved in an accident. Vehicle owner manuals and gas station pump warning stickers typically warn operators of the dangers of over-filling or "topping off" fuel tanks specifically for this reason. With the system not operating correctly, the risk of overfilling is sever

What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
