WArning light to service shifter, service electronic thorottle control and service ABS system, Computers not comunicating due to computer error, found fuse blown and high resistance in the power districution center. replaced and programmed the power distribution module to find anitlock brake model failed. Part is currenlty on engineering hold. We have not been able to ddrive the vehicle since 11/8/2024 and now they are telling us it may be February till part is realeased. There was a safety recall U07 that was repair but the ABS module is the part controlling all items that are failing.

After having a full tank of fuel/gas my gas gauge will fluctuate to empty I'm saying no fuel on my gauges and the gas light will come on. When another person is in my vehicle like my wife driving that is not used to this will cause her to panic when she is on the highway or other roadways driving at high speeds and this can be dangerous. Also can be dangerous the other way giving false reading when you do need fuel and you don't have a 14 and it gives you false readings thinking you do have enough gas and leave you stranded in the wrong place wrong time wrong situation. 2018 intermediate until now 2025 almost daily to weekly. Research the problem in the past and have seen that this is a known issue
The ABS Control Module has failed. This module controls the ABS, TCS, Cruise Control and leaves the BRAKE light on on the dash. This problem has been diagnosed by the dealership. The part has been discontinued by MOPAR and there are currently no indications of inventory being replenished by a MOPAR part manufacturer or 3rd party manufacturer. Without this, the vehicle no longer has required safety features available for the safe operation of manufacturer specs. The warning lights are operational. The availability of the part is out of stock indefinetly. There has been no indication of a potential solution by the manufacturer. Through repeated attempts to contact Stellantis about this issue, no guidance has been given, only "we're sorry" and "continue to wait for part availability." This issue needs escalation as the manufacturer is not showing, in good faith, that there is something being done to resolve the supply issue and is acting as they are content with the vehicle being in a less than safe state.
Power steering quits working while driving.
The ABS electronic module has failed. The replacement part from the dealership has/is on “Engineering Hold “ since November, extended to December 19, then extended to January 17, and now extended to February 19th. The ABS modules for Dodge Ram trucks from 2017 onwards are on recall. The ABS module also controls the cruise control, so that is not working also. Please add the 2016 models to the recall.
The air ride (air bags) have deflated and will not inflate. Had at dealer and was told $6000 to fix. I only had vehicle for a little over a year at that time. Since then air ride has failed
Seat belt disengages randomly while driving on the drivers seat. Everyday since December 25, 2024
ABS light came on end of July, 2024 Had truck checked at local dealership 08/07/2024 and was told I'd need to replace ABS Module. Been over 5 months, part is STILL not available, and, now my ABS light, Electronic Stability Control Light, and Brake Light are all on. Dealership told me nothing can be done. Next proposed date for release of needed part is in February, which from recent history, wll probably (IMO) not happen. This is an issue (according to internet search) which is affecting many Ram owners
Have been forced to drive my truck without ABS and also with all the ABS, Brake and Check Engine lights on due to a faulty ABS Module. RAM has been saying for years they had a fix coming and still nothing. Several components will not work due to this issue. Ram service said its ok to drive even without Anti-Lock Brakes. When I said the thousands of owners who are forced to do this are committing insurance fraud and are at risk liability wise they said no worries. The forums are full of owners with the same issue. To add insult to injury they have adjust the software on our RAM vehicle heath report to not show the owner alert for the failure so less informed owners are unaware of exactly what the issue is. HELP!!!!
Power steering (EPS) warning flashes when the temperature drops below 32 degrees. Wheels immediately become difficult to turn.
To Whom It May Concern: In March 2024 I purchased a Ram 1500 pickup truck. Shortly after purchasing the truck I discovered there was an open recall for the vehicle (14Z46182 Safety Recall Z46), I had the recall completed on April 10, 2024; The High Pressure Fuel Pump, Injector Fuel Tubes, and Fuel Filter were replaced by Port Lavaca Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep. A few months later I started having erratic check engine lights, hard starting etc. I had the codes translated at Auto Zone and it was determined to most likely be the High Pressure Fuel Pump failure. I dismissed that diagnosis as the high pressure fuel pump had recently been replaced. On September 6, 2024 my truck quit running and I had it towed to ROKS DIESEL to be evaluated for the cause. Roks Diesel checked it on September 16, 2024 and said the High Pressure Fuel Pump failed and metal particles were throughout the fuel system and that the complete fuel system must be replaced and the tank cleaned. The fuel was checked for contamination and none was found. I called Port Lavaca Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep to see what I should do; I was told to tow it in and they would perform a duplicate recall. I explained that it needed to be towed from Victoria, TX, so they suggested I save some money and have it towed to Victoria Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, Jeep, which I did. Victoria Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, Jeep evaluated the truck and confirmed what Roks Diesel informed me. They went on to say the fuel was contaminated and there for I would have t
Power steering completely went out, without warning, while driving 55 mph. No prior warning - all of a sudden a red light came on with exclamation point saying the power steering must be serviced. Incredibly difficult to steer / drive it to a certified Dodge dealership. A quick inspection found the problem to be: Electric power steering gear unit must be replaced. Estimated price quote for MOPAR replacement part and labor is $3000+
I started hearing a clunk coming from the front of my truck and had it checked and the CV shaft broke. My truck isn’t even 10 years old
The vehicle has an air ride suspension that has failed and after researching the issue it seems that this is an ongoing problem for a lot of owners. Without the air ride suspension the vehicle is difficult to control and until fixed it is also my only mode of transportation.
Abs module has electronic fault requiring repair or replacement there is no modules available to repair with some remanufactured ones are available with prices very high also has to be programmed by a dealer making it a very costly repair if you can find one. This is a safety issue as abs will not function till repair complete chrysler is well aware of issue there is thread after thread about it online.
On [XXX] my power steering system completely froze in sub-0 temperatures. The wheels were unable to steer right or left. After idling for some time, it unfroze resulting in a grinding noise and very stiff steering. This has continued where the steering freezes in cold temperatures and continues to grind. The vehicle was brought to Main Motor in Johnstown NY (dealer) to inspect this and they determined that the Steering Rack (which includes the EPS) had failed- mainly the steering gear. The truck has 88,000 miles. This is a sealed, unserviceable system and should not fail at this point. The dealer price for a replacement part was $3010 plus labor. As the truck had been out of warranty for a month, I brought it to an independent shop for confirmation and they will be completing the repair. These steering systems are a known issue, I spoke to the consumer complaint department at Ram and through the dealer. Neither wanted to rectify the situation at their own cost. The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at approximately 40 MPH, he heard the sound of the tailgate opening independently. When the contact stopped the vehicle, he observed that the tailgate was open and he was able to raise and secure the tailgate. The contact stated that later he was starting the vehicle and saw that the tailgate was again open, however, he was not able to secure the tailgate. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed and was not repaired. The contact called a local dealer and was informed that he would need to bring the vehicle in for a diagnostic check. The contact asked if there was an open recall. The contact was advised by the dealer that NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V486000 (Structure, Latches/Locks/Linkages) had been completed on the vehicle by a previous owner and he was no longer covered by the recall. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.
I have had several issues with this vehicle for over 1 yr, started having issues with the vehicle 3 months after purchasing it. I was unaware of any warranties on my truck because I bought it used. Called the dealership that I bought it from and they said I didn’t have a warranty on it. The truck would lose power while driving than it would show something about exhaust issue. Finally after around 6 months or so we had to take it to the shop to have it fixed paid over $2000 to have it fixed and it worked for some time but finally would not turn on and left us stranded. It has been over a year since we have been able to use the truck because now it has affected the motor. I am so desperate for some type of resolution. This is a recall issue and don’t understand why Chrysler won’t fix it.
I've read many problems with not being able to put fuel in the truck, I am experiencing that exact problem. You can't pump gas into the tank. The nozzle shuts off immediately, after .15 cents or so. No engine codes to help diagnose the problems.
Ram has an issue with the electronic brake module. It effects the anti-brake, anti-slip, trailer brake, and cruise control. They are aware of it and it is documented on many forums as far back as 2016 on my model. My son has a 2018 2500 and is starting to have the same issues. This is an $1100 job but they don't have the part and can't get it. They say it is on back order? No real guarantee it will even last when it is replaced. This is a hazard driving. And definitely an issue you need to address
Since buying our 2016 Ram 1500 ecodiesel, we have had nothing but problems. In 2020 there was an EGR/coolant leak that was supposedly done. Upon getting the recall done, they said that the manufacturer has not yet made any equipment to fix the issue. They replaced our hose, but we have had to get it fixed almost annually since then. This is a lemon of a truck and FCA should be ashamed releasing a vehicle with so many issues and no fix in sight. It says our recall was "remedied", but even the service department said that there is no guaranteed fix because FCA has not released anything to actually fix this issue. We were without our truck for almost a month. Ridiculous. DO NOT BUY THIS TRUCK, YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!
Steering issues with power steering not working properly.
* There are ABS and Traction Control warning lamps and messages illuminated on the dash starting in July of 2024. They do not turn off. * Two different certified independent service centers diagnosed the ABS Module as the cause, which requires replacement. * The ABS module has malfunctioned causing the brakes to pulsate and extend safe stopping distance. The problem also causes the traction control feature to not work, which causes extreme danger on a wet surface. Additionally the cruise control will not set due to this ABS module malfunction. * I have ordered a new ABS module from RAM (part # 68295368-AC), but it has been under "Engineering Review" for months with no insight into when the problem will be fixed. Ram states that the truck is "safe to drive" while we wait, but my experience with it shows that to be false. RAM seems to expect us to drive an unsafe vehicle until they get around to finding a solution.
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road and the vehicle was able to restart. However, the contact was unable to pull to the side of the road when the failure occurred on one occasion, and the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer. The contact stated that the dealer replaced the high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) several times. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel); however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that there was fuel leaking from underneath the vehicle onto the ground. The vehicle was towed to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000.
Intermittently failure of my power steering. Fluid is full, all components appear fine when inspected by mechanic. Upon further research discovered could be an issue with the circuit board. Unable to drive my truck due to the lack of power steering causing a major potential safety issue.
ABS Code C2200-49, anti-lock brake module internal electronic failure. Have not been able to source a new ABS control module for my vehicle. Apparently Dodge/Mopar/Chrysler has stopped producing this part. No ABS makes it dangerous to drive in the snowy/wet conditions prevalent during the winter months, especially in New York State. ABS, traction control, and brake lights are illuminated on dash. Owners manual states that the vehicle should not be driven with the brake light illuminated. Don’t really have a choice but to drive the vehicle, as I can’t afford to park the vehicle for an unknown period of time until the new module becomes available.
There’s numerous reports with the same year , make, and model regarding power steering issues and Dodge doesn’t seem to do anything regarding it . My power steering is out and it’s a huge safety issue because it went out on me while driving on the freeway and it’s happend to thousands of more Drivers as well from what I’m reading
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at approximately 25 MPH, the check engine warning light was illuminated and the fuel gauge suddenly was inoperative. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank strap and the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The contact researched and discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 102,841.
The ABS module has a fault which is preventing the ABS system from functioning resulting in increased potential for braking mishaps. The module scan shows a c2200-49 code indicating a fault in the module. The RAM dealer states they are unable to get replacement parts from the manufacturer or a non-factory party. From internet searches it appears this is a longstanding problem potentially putting drivers at risk of serious injury or death. Strongly recommend NHTSA ensure a recall is issued to ensure manufacturer resolution of this serious safety problem.
My truck has been diagnosed with a faulty ABS control module over a year ago. I have made countless efforts to remedy this to no avail. The demand is so high for these and the supply is zero. The vehicle will go into limp mode every time i drive it. This poses a serious threat to my safety by not being able to get up to speed on the highway and constantly having to pull over. This is my only vehicle and has been a huge inconvenience.
The power steering goes in and out intermittently, while making aturn the power steering went out making it difficult to steer, i crossed the double yellow line stopping just short of the curb. if there was a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction i definitely would of collided. it was 5 am and traffic was slow. it appears this is a known problem for RAM trucks . And there appears to be a NHTSA investigation open.
The air suspension went out on my ram 1500, and i cannot drive the vehicle. This happened when I was on the highway, and it almost made crash. After the service suspension light came on, the truck was incredibly hard to control. I had the vehicle towed from Atlantic Expressway to my home. Now the truck doesn't move and is now stuck in the lowered position.
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Warning lights have illuminated for ABS, Traction Control and Brake. Same as Safety Recall Report 24V-896, but that Safety Recall Report does not currently include 2016 1500 RAM models. I believe that Safety Recall Report should be expanded to include the 2016 1500 RAM model.
The power steering quit the steering was very different to use and make turns. There is a steering wheel icon in red and message that says to service power steering. I took into dealer after a day they got the code to reset I drove home and the code came back on and I lost power steering again and the steering icon is back on. The dealer says you will have to replace the power steering module which doesn’t seam right if they can temporarily get it to clear
I am experiencing the loss of Power Steering I have the Electronic Power Steering issue that a lot of people are having. I have been to 2 mechanics and one being the dealer that says the power steering is faulty and its the same issue that a lot of others are having but Ram tells me that my truck is just out of the recall dates by a couple months and there is nothing they can do they say so I am reaching out to try and get help with this as it is the same issues on the recal
Husbands car started making a ticking noise and was loosing power while driving, so we brought it into the dealership. It will be $5796.58 to fix the rocker arms and camshaft. The estimate is for rocker arm roller failed damaging the camshaft. We are thankful that it has not caused any major incidents while driving that would casue serious harm to him and others on the road. Upon doing research we have found that this is a common issue with the engine that is in his Ram 1500, 2016. It was sold to us and we were not informed that this could be an issue. Again, we are thankful that he was not hurt before we were able to get it to the dealership.
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle lost automotive power and stalled. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the crankshaft position sensor tone wheel had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V475000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 127,000.
The truck lost all steering capability - the RAM dealership said it needs a complete steering electric power steering system replacement, totaling over $4,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the tailgate opened unintendedly. The local dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V347000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 79,000.
The abs module has failed on the 2016 Ram 1500. It has illuminated the brake light, abs light, and traction light on my dash permanently. It is disabling abs, cruise control, and now I will not know if any other problems arise in my brake system because the lights stay on permanently. I have been unable to purchase a replacement part because it has been unavailable for over 6 months to purchase. I continuously get told a new part is under engineer review but they just keep extending the date every other month. In the mean time I have no way to repair my vehicle. Absolutely unsafe and unacceptable for a major system (brakes).
The tailgate fell open while in motion. Now it won't latch closed unless I hold it up and lock it with the mechanical key or the keyfob. Online research indicates that recal # U74 should have included this truck but I was never notified. I am the second owner and acquired this truck 05/05/2018.
Have recall and have contacted dealership. But have not been resolved. I submitted a complaint here and have not gotten a response. Tracking number is 11611355.
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 20–25 MPH, the steering became inoperable. The contact was unable to control the vehicle and crashed into the curb, and the passenger side tire popped. The driver continued to drive and parked. The contact changed the tire, and upon starting the vehicle, the tire and traction control warning lights illuminated. The contact noticed the passenger side fender and rim were scraped from the cement. The contact stated that the failure was due to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V167000 (Steering). There were no reported injuries, airbag deployment, or police report filed. The contact called the local dealer, who scheduled an appointment. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving downhill 50-55 MPH and towing a boat, the brake pedal became hard. The brake pedal was hard to depress. The ABS and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Electronic Stability Control (ESC). The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who used a code scanner and determined that the failure was related to the ABS module. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
The ABS Control Module has faulted and no longer allows for the ABS System, Traction Control System or Cruise Control System to operate properly and also leaves the BRAKE light illuminated (which should indicate the parking brake is engaged). This part has been discontinued by the manufacturer and there is no timeline associated with a replacement part. This allows for the vehicle to be operated without the required ABS system functioning and no feasible timeline to make repairs to this system. The dealer has ran diagnostics to confirm ABS Control Module failure. This problem has caused a dashboard warning light and was brought to a Ram dealership promptly for diagnostics/repair. MOPAR and RamTrucks has been contacted multiple times without a follow up from the company.
I was driving the truck and went to make a turn and suddenly the power steering went. It was very difficult to drive and was a definite hazard to myself and others. I took the truck to the dealer where they in turn said there was not a problem with the power steering. I have included the document given to me by the dealership. Upon my own investigation the power steering has defaulted many other drivers as well. This should be a recall. I then disconnected the battery and reconnected it two days later and the power steering returned. Withing the next few days the power steering went again. This is an electrical power steering and needs to be investigated asap. Yor help in greatly appreciated. Purchased the vehicle used in 2020, and shortly thereafter, noticed the engine idling rough. Determined that the throttle body was loose on the (plastic ) intake manifold. Attempted to tighten the throttle body screws per manufacturer torque specs, but they were stripped. Investigating this, the design employs sheet metal screws into untapped plastic manifold holes. I had to use high temp RTV to secure the throttle body on to the manifold. This worked for a couple of years, but the throttle body became loose again. Tried to get a replacement OEM manifold from the dealership, but after several months, was told that the part was unavailable. More importantly, the same poor design is incorporated in the replacement part. I had to re-apply the high temp RTV in order to secure the throttle body on to the manifold for the truck to function. I believe that this poor design poses a safety concern because the throttle body could detach from the intake manifold at critical driving times. This design problem is widespread with all Chrysler V-8 vehicles, in several model years.
My steering wheel only turns violently to the right (I have a video that will not upload). My husband almost broke his thumb when it happened. Thankfully no one was injured. However, we were about to leave on a 1200-mile trip when this happened. This problem will not go away. Ram has refused to even look at the truck even though there is a recall on this in 1500 Ram trucks including diesels like mine, but not my vin#. There was absolutely no warning before this happened. We are grateful we were not on the highway when this happened, or I would not be able to write this to you today. I called Ram customer service on 11/6 and disconnected right when they were giving me the case number. I called back on 11/7 to get the case number and was informed that the last person never created one. She created 2 case numbers for me, 1 to look at the vehicle as this is a major safety issue and another one for my rental car expense and told me I would be contacted in 4 business days. On the 4th day I called customer support back and they told me to tow it to a local dodge dealership and confirmed which one to send it to that was close. I called to have it towed there and called customer service back to let them know and the women told me that they denied my claim on 11/8 and in addition she informed me that she also had me tow it to a non-authorized dealer. I was never notified and why did they have me tow my vehicle to a dealer if they never planned on looking at the vehicle. Also, they let

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
