Feels like the steering keeps going in and out one second it is okay the next it is very hard to steer were you can barely turn the wheel at all at any speed
I have my traction control light show up on the dash. Took my truck to a mechanic thinking it might be my ABS Sensors. The code came up showing I am in need of the ABS Control Module. This seems to have been recalled on many of the Ram trucks as recent as September 2024. Also doing a lot of research, this seems to have been an ongoing problem for Ram trucks 2014-2016. The dealerships currently do not have the replacement part # 68228991AD which will replace the original 68228991AA, AB, and AC. It is apparently in engineering review. With the snow my location just had, I can tell you I have lost traction on the road. I have also lost traction and had hard braking on dry pavement within the past few weeks which is why I took the truck to the mechanic and learned of the ABS Control Module needing replaced. This should be recalled on all of the Ram trucks not just the 2019, 2021-2024.
Electric power steering rack has failed. It's very, very hard to steer the vehicle. Happened when it was cold and snowy out. I'm lucky it occurred in my driveway, and I wasn't at speed on the highway! Dealer says it's a module in the steering rack. Quoted over 3k to replace the electronic power steering rack. I can't afford that... That kind of repair was never anticipated when I purchased this vehicle.
Exhaust manifold bolts failed resulting in a separation of the manifold from the engine block. Resulting in a loud “ticking” noise coming from the engine compartment. Vehicle was driven to a mechanic were new bolts were installed resulting in a several hundred dollar repair cost.
Truck loses power when you accelerate at any various moments. Forces you to put it in park and then I'll have to restart the engine and then it'll drive normal like nothing happen. Power steering is a little hard which cruise control doesn't work when this is happening.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the ABS, Traction Control, and Brake warning lights remained illuminated, and the brake pedal was not firm while depressed. The vehicle was taken to two local mechanics who diagnosed the ABS Module as faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer was notified and informed that the ABS module was on backorder and not available for purchase. The manufacturer has not yet contacted us. The failure mileage was 86,000,
On [XXX] numerous brake system warning dash lamps came on on your truck. I also noticed that once this happened the cruise control no longer works. The local RAM dealer could not inspect my truck for several days so I had an independent service center test it and he confirmed the anti-lock brake module had stopped working. I believe he also noted that error code(s) were detected. yes, it can be inspected. I drive the truck but do so without the use of the anti-lock brake system. Yes, the problem has been reproduced, and l've visited my local dealer and discussed the situation with them and they confirm that this has been an ongoing problem for over 2 years. Warning lamps only came on as soon as the problem started, though at the time I did not notice a problem as I did not have to slam on my breaks and make use of the anti-lock/anti-skid function. The service center and dealer both confirmed that the malfunctioning cruise control was definitely part of the module failure. Part # 68228991-AD (replaced part # 68228991-AB. Local dealer is Matt Bower in Baton Rouge, LA. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact was informed that the rack and pinion and the rear differential case needed to be replaced. The vehicle remained with the dealer due to parts being on backorder. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 187,000.
Service Antilock Brake System and Service Electronic Braking System warning lights keep coming on. Truck intermittently tries to stop.
Vehicle is flashing service electronic braking system/Traction controland break light flashing. Seem the issue is related to other year models with the HCU/brake motor recalls that have been issued. I'm looking at having to spend over $3k just to have the unit replaced at a dealership. I don't feel safe while driving my truck as the other day when in the rain it started driving crazy when I lost traction on wet pavement uphill. The truck started trying to auto correct because of the traction issues was throwing me from side to side on the road. I believe this to be a bigger problem with FCA vehicles than they are reporting. With the issue being identified as a manufacturer part and the majority of the parts being almost identical in design it seems they should recall more year models. Along with that the replacement is not all that different in design either. The brushes in the motor are sticking resulting in the motor not functioning properly. So now I'm stuck not feeling comfortable with any of the fixes even if the offered them to my year model if they are using the same motor design.
The power steering fails whenever the outside temperature is cold, below about 45 deg F. The failure occurs when the truck is started. The failire is very consistent, but again only when cold outside. When the failure occurs, after warming the engine compartment for 30-60 minutes and restarting the truck, the steering is then OK and the truck can be driven normally. When the failure occurs, the engine runs OK, and the truck can be operated, but without power steering it is very hard to drive safely. When the failure happens I have not tried to drive the car on roadways since it is very difficult to steer the truck. However, I am concerned that the steering failure could happen when driving, especially if the outiside temperature gets cold. I have consulted with an authorized RAM dealer and was told the electronic power steering module would need replacement, with estimated cost $3700. I decided against having the steering replaced, since the truck is usable once the engine warms. The dealer did not inspect the truck, since it only has failed on cold mornings in my driveway, so the failure and warning messages are gone once I drive it to the dealer. When the failure occurs there is a red message on the dashboard to "Service Power Steering". This message is somewhat redundant-- the lack of power steering is very evident as soon as you try to drive the truck.
ABS modules become defective and give errors. Mopar Part number 68228991AD has been discontinued with no new part number. This module affect stopping in icy and wet conditions. This is critical to the safety of the driver. Mopar needs to make an ABS module!!!
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the engine warning light illuminated. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was difficult to steer. The vehicle went into LIMP Mode, and lost motive power. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road where the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the intake manifold and toner wheel needed to be replaced. The mechanic informed the contact that there was no fuel pressure. The crankshaft position speed sensor magnet sensor had delaminated. The DTC code: P0336-00 was displayed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted, but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 133,000.
During colder weather the power steering does not work. Any time the temperature is below 65 the light blinks and there is no steering. Even after cleaning battery connections well and replacing the fuses it does not work. We were towing just fine in the afternoon then in the morning when we attempted to drive it was out!
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while coming to a stop, the brake pedal was depressed due to the vehicle in front abruptly stopping with the ABS warning light illuminated. On several occasions, the brake pedal felt abnormal when depressed. On another occasion, the contact stated that the vehicle accelerated up to 30 MPH which caused the contact to rear-end another vehicle. The air bag did not deploy. No injuries were sustained, and no medical attention was provided. A Police report was filed with the Florida Highway Patrol and the report number was not provided to the contact. The vehicle was not towed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the ABS module failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the contact was informed that no after-market parts were available. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact referenced an unknown recall related to the brake booster failure however the part was not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 188,635.
Electronic Power Steering unit/rack failed. Vehicle is available for inspection, although would need to be towed. My safety and other drivers around me has been put at risk due to losing all power steering while driving down the highway. All it would take is losing power steering in a curve on a major highway to cause a major accident. The Electronic Power Steering units on multiple year model Ram 1500's has been reported, my truck alone has lost steering once in October, and again for half of November up until today, December 3rd. My individual EPS has not been inspected by anyone. There is no warning light when the power steering fails, you will be driving along just fine and the next moment, your steering is lost and extremely difficult to move. Once you limp to safety and shut your truck off, a "Service Power Steering" message will pop up and remain on your dash until your power steering unit is replaced.
About a year ago my vehicles auto traction , brake light and abs light illuminated. The warning that my vehicle gives when I turn it on and start is braking system needs serviced and electrical breaking system needs serviced. The code that shows in diagnosis is abs brake module needs replaced. My brakes have not been right. The part has been back ordered for over a year. There are no parts and my dealer and Ram answer is it’s under engineering review till January 15. The dealership answer is get one from the junk yard which they’re aren’t any. I wouldn’t feel confident driving my grand babies with used brake parts. I was in an accident today because of brake failure and thankfully I didn’t hurt anyone in the car in front of me.
Approximately 1.5 years ago my 2015 Ram 1500 Antilock Brake light came on along with the messages service trailer brake system, service antilock brake system, and service electronic brake system. I have taken it to different dealers and auto mechanics to have it fixed only to be told that parts are no longer available. I was told by service department at dealer that I needed an ABS Module. I have checked with dealers for current availability of the parts numerous times since diagnosis only to be told that the part was still not available and that they did not have any idea when it would be available. I have been researching this problem and found this to be a common problem with Ram pickups. I have also found where a recall has been activated for 2019-2021 ram trucks with the same problem. This to me is a real safety issue that should be addressed and a recall activated for this and other older models with the same issue, as I have had a couple of incidents where I have had to apply heavy pressure to brakes to stop my vehicle only to have the brakes lock up causing me to nearly lose control of my vehicle. If this is not addressed, I feel that the issue could result in accidents, injury, or worse loss of life could occur. Thank you for your time. ABS control module under engineering review Part not available, manufacturer has not supplied replacement part for 2 + years. Tens of Thousands of failures, some repeat failures and dealer will not replace with used part. Dealer will not cover cost to replace part which is unavailable. $1500.00 - $2000.00 cost to replace part knowing all new parts are faulty.
On my 2015 ram 1500, When it's gets cold out my EPS freezes up to the point where I cannot turn the wheels. I have to let my vehicle run for awhile to regain steering. It also keeps going out when I'm driving. Some days my steering will work fine and other days it doesn't. There is no warning light that comes on on the dash before the steering doesn't work.

Why is my truck not included on this safety recall.?. THANKS IN ADVANCE .
Subject: Complaint Regarding Camshaft and Lifter Failure in 2015 Ram 1500 5.7L V8 To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally submit a complaint regarding the camshaft and lifter failure in my 2015 Ram 1500 5.7L V8, which has only 141,000 miles. This issue began as a faint ticking sound—known commonly as the “Hemi tick”—and has progressively worsened, leading to severe internal engine damage. Now, I am faced with the need for a complete engine replacement. The “Hemi tick” is a widely recognized issue that often starts with a minor noise but is known to develop into serious mechanical failure in Hemi engines. Despite its prevalence, this issue is frequently dismissed until it causes significant and costly engine damage. In my situation, what began as a ticking noise has led to camshaft and lifter failure, which I now understand is a recurring defect in these vehicles. This situation presents a major safety concern. With these parts deteriorating from what appears to be a design flaw, there is a high risk of sudden engine failure while driving. The failure of the camshaft and lifters can lead to immediate loss of power, which could leave drivers stranded or in dangerous situations on highways and busy roads. Additionally, sudden engine failure at higher speeds could lead to loss of vehicle control, endangering not only the driver and passengers but also other motorists. I recently experienced this firsthand. Luckily, my family and I, were able to maintain control and get t
ABS control module and pump failed no replacement available waiting now for 1 year for parts this is a problem with a large amount of ram trucks. Need assistance from this agency
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while operating the vehicle, the ABS, Traction Control, and Electronic Braking System warning lights remained illuminated. The message "Service Trailer Brake System" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the ABS Module was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 154,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel); however, the repair failed to prevent the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle was towed back to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the high-pressure fuel pump replacement had failed, causing metal shavings to enter the fuel line, fuel injectors, and the engine. The vehicle was left at the local dealer for further diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by the local dealer and the contact. The failure mileage was approximately 148,321.
I looked under the truck before a long trip and found a gas tank strap hanging oddly. Upon looking further into discovered the mount has rusted through. Doing some online research I have found this is a fairly common issue.
Air bad for rear seat warning light. I can’t drive with my kids in vehicle. Erratic fuel issues stalling bad computer gives faulty reading. Cause me to get in necessary maintenance. Suspension issues always shakes on highway.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the message that the ABS was unavailable was displayed and several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact was hauling a trailer when the failure occurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with ABS module failure. The contact was informed that the ABS module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. ABS, traction control and BRAKE lights on continuously, took to shop to run diagnostic and was told the problem relates to the actuator leaking into the module which now both need to be replaced. Chrysler dealer states parts are "on back order" and have been for over 6 months due to"re-engineering" issues. Talked to several other Ram owners with same problem to hear they understand Stelantis has no intention of re-engineering due to cost and possible recall responsibility. This is a real safety issue, why has a recall not been initialized?
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while her husband was driving 30 MPH and making a turn, the steering wheel was significantly difficult to turn. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the contact was informed that the Electric Power Steering (EPS) had failed; however, the part to do the repair was on an indefinite backorder. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V167000 (Steering). The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The ABS, traction control and emergency brake light all turned came up on the dashboard. I believe a past recall May 16, 2018 was of a wiring issue effecting the cruise control. Since all three lights have came on, the cruise control feature is not available for use. This is a concern within the Ram community and needs to be addressed.
Flooded cab resulting from cab leak from 3rd brake light has been fixed & mold remediation twice, while under warranty. Leak has begun again, along with the growth of dangerous mold that results under the back seats.
Antilock Brake System module has failed, causing the light on the dashboard, along with the traction control light, to stay on. This covers up any braking issues, as I am forced to drive with this light on; as Ram is not selling the ABS module, saying they are under "Engineering evaluation". The problem with my truck cannot be fixed at this time & I am forced to drive an unsafe vehicle. Reported to Ram, but no action taken to recall.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel seized with no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the steering wheel independently veered to the left direction. The brake warning light illuminated. The warning message "Anti-lock brake system service required" was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact also stated that there was an unusual burning odor from the exterior and saw an unusual vapor coming from the front driver-side tire. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the front driver-side rotor, caliber, brake pad, and brake hose were replaced. The contact stated that 2 weeks later the passenger side rotor, caliber, brake pad, and brake hose were replaced by another local dealer to balance the other repairs however the failure reoccurred. The first local dealer was contacted however, the contact was advised that the parts needed for the repair were on backorder. The contact reached out to the second unknown local dealer for a second opinion and they advised the contact that the part was not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.
Dear NHTSA, I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my experience with my 2015 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel, particularly in relation to unresolved recalls and inadequate service from dealerships. Last year, I began experiencing significant issues with my truck, ultimately leading me to Southern Motors in Springfield. They diagnosed the problem as needing a new engine, which was concerning. However, my vehicle also had outstanding recalls, including one for the fuel pump, which I was informed they did not address and ended up being the issue with the engine in the first place but instead they informed me I would need to pay for a new engine roughly $20k. I then took my truck to Hayes Dodge Ram Jeep Chrysler in Gainesville, Georgia. While they did perform the recall for the fuel pump, I was charged $400 to update the system—an action I believed should have been covered under the recall. After this service, my truck continues to run poorly and still displays check engine lights related to a crankshaft sensor, which I understand is also under recall (number X94). This issue has not been addressed, further compounding my frustration. Given the circumstances, I am deeply concerned about the effectiveness of the recall process and the service I received. I would appreciate your investigation into this matter, as it not only affects my vehicle but potentially other consumers who may be facing similar issues with Ram trucks. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope to se
ABS Modular is malfunctioning and recommended to be replaced. I have been waiting 1.5 years for this part and continue to be told it’s not available. My check engine light continues to be on and my car does not function as it should. The part is identified as needing to be fixed but no parts available. I’ve called multiple states and made over 100 calls over the year. I am stuck with a car not functioning correctly and told by RAM that I just need to wait. Thousands of people are waiting for this part I am told and other years have been recalled but not my year somehow. This is dangerous and my hands are tied. I am putting my family in danger daily driving or am out 20+k on a vehicle I can’t drive. This is ridiculous and not a decision I thought I’d have to make with a well known company like Ram.
Drove from North Carolina to Wisconsin [XXX] for a vacation, second day, [XXX], in Wisconsin went to start up my truck and had a "Service Power Steering" light appear on my dash. Steering wheel was extremely stiff to turn left and right. I tried disconnecting the positive terminal on the battery with no success. I called 3 different Dodge dealers in Wisconsin to see if they had any information on the issue. I was then notified of a possible Electric Power Steering (EPS) failure. Being 1,800 miles from home, this was not very exciting to hear. I was able to disconnect both terminals of the battery and get my power steering back in order to white-knuckle drive back home with the hopes of not losing my power steering while driving through the mountains. I will be calling my local dealer tomorrow, October 16, 2024 to inquire about possible steps to resolve this issue going forward. 22V-406 high pressure fuel pump ("HPFP") safty recall not completed as of Oct 7th 2024 vehicle had unexpected loss of motive power 20V-475 loss of crankshaft position I have loss of crankshaft position resulted in engine stall, as well as loss of the ability to restart the engine 19V-757 Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) i have Coolant loss, coolant color Turing brown/black, major build up of soot buildup in intake manifold and EGR. Driving and vehicle lost all power fuel light came on, throttle control light came on, low oil light came on, speed dropped to 5mph when I was doing 55mph. Was able to coast vehicle off the road almost getting hit from behind by a semi truck. Dodge Dealership sold me truck November 2023 and said there was NO safty recalls open or uncompleted. But as I am now finding out the recall for the high pressure fuel pump was infact OPEN and uncompleted dealership even singed a document stating this vehicle has no recalls. Dealership says recalls 20V-475 and 19V-757 have already been done but getting the same issues as to why the recalls where issued. Now my vehicle has been at the dealership for a month and has yet to even be looked at and the dealership and Dodge refuse to provide a loaner vehicle and tell me to go rent one. I can't afford to rent a car it's over $300 a week without rental car insurance.
