NHTSA Complaint Description What Happened & Safety Risk: While driving a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe at highway speeds on Interstate 84, the vehicle suffered a catastrophic, unrecoverable loss of motive power. Without any warning, the vehicle completely seized up, shut down, and turned off entirely while moving in active traffic. This exact life-threatening failure has now occurred twice. Operating a vehicle that completely dies at highway speeds places the driver, passengers, and all surrounding traffic at an extreme risk of a high-speed rear-end collision, as the vehicle loses all ability to accelerate or safely clear the roadway. Component/System Malfunction: The failure lies within the hybrid propulsion system and electrical/software communication network (specifically relating to active Federal Recalls 25V710 for Hybrid Control Processor software shutdown and 25V766 for engine sand contamination). The vehicle is absolutely available for inspection upon request. Dealer Confirmation & Inspection: The problem is currently being evaluated. The vehicle is currently held at an authorized Stellantis dealership service department, where it was brought immediately following the most recent highway shutdown. Warning Symptoms: There were no advance warning lamps, diagnostic messages, or performance symptoms prior to the failure. The loss of propulsion and complete vehicle shutdown occurred instantaneously and without warning while traveling at highway speeds.

My Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe has an active safety recall involving possible catastrophic engine failure, fire risk, and sudden loss of propulsion. The manufacturer recall states that sand contamination inside the engine may lead to engine failure and vehicle fire. The recall remains incomplete and the manufacturer states the repair remedy is still under development. I was informed that repair parts or a permanent repair are not currently available. This creates a serious safety concern because the vehicle may suddenly lose propulsion or experience a fire risk while driving or parked. I am concerned for my safety and the safety of my family. The vehicle is leased and I am still required to continue making payments despite the unresolved safety defect and lack of repair availabilit

I started my Jeep in my driveway and a warning quickly flashed onto the center screen just before the Check Engine Light illuminated. I attempted to test drive it. The vehicle started cutting out before the engine started racing. I was able to stop at the end of my street. I made a U-Turn to return to my home and the Jeep started bucking and jerking wildly as I was attempting to stop in front of my house. It was at that time it stopped running and locked itself in PARK. I called a tow to the dealer. The tow driver was also unable to move the vehicle as it was still locked in PARK. He was able to drag it onto the flatbed. Upon inspection at the dealer, they stated that the hybrid battery had failed and needs to be replaced. This was a dangerous enough situation but had this of happened in traffic or worse yet on the highway, it would have made for a much more dangerous situation where someone could have been killed. This is not the first time I've had drivability and loss of motive power issues with this vehicle. The last time a few months ago I brought it to the dealer's attention and explained the problem and the danger. The dealer advised me that the software after the 68C Recall will reduce power to protect the hybrid battery. It seems that Jeep is trying to save money rather than do the right thing and buy back these dangerous vehicles. Jeep customer service basically told me that it's my problem. I just want the Jeep fixed or bought back. It is not a safe vehicle to driv

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The vehicle experiences a severe front-end steering and suspension oscillation commonly referred to as “death wobble.” After driving over uneven pavement, bridge joints, potholes, or rough highway surfaces at highway speeds, the steering wheel begins violently shaking side-to-side and the front suspension appears to oscillate uncontrollably. The vehicle becomes difficult to steer and maintain lane control until speed is significantly reduced. The issue first occurred at approximately 10,000 miles and has recently returned. Although the current episodes are somewhat less severe than the initial event, the vehicle still becomes unstable above approximately 65 mph and cannot be safely driven at normal highway speeds. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This defect creates a serious safety hazard because the steering instability occurs suddenly at highway speeds and makes the vehicle feel temporarily out of control. During the initial in incident, the steering wheel shook violently after hitting an uneven section of highway pavement, and I believed I could lose control of the vehicle or collide with surrounding traffic. The only way to stop the oscillation is to rapidly reduce speed to approximately 50 mph or lower, which itself creates additional danger from surrounding vehicles traveling at highway speed. The recurrence of the issue has made me afraid to drive

I am reporting a serious safety concern with my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, VIN [XXX] . The apparent systems involved are the hybrid propulsion system, charging/high-voltage battery system, powertrain control system, and/or regenerative braking/deceleration system. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. After prior battery/charging-related issues and recent Jeep recall service, the vehicle displayed a “Service Charging System” warning and the check-engine light came on. While driving home, the vehicle did not decelerate normally when I removed my foot from the accelerator. It felt like the Jeep continued propelling itself or maintaining speed without accelerator input. I drove approximately one mile down my street at about 40 mph, and the vehicle did not slow down as expected unless I applied the brakes firmly. I had to brake harder than normal to slow the vehicle. This created a serious safety risk because the vehicle appeared to continue moving at speed without normal deceleration, which could have caused a crash or prevented me from stopping in time. After the incident, the vehicle also turn off. It took multiple tries and about 20 minutes to turn off. The “Service Charging System” message and check-engine light remained on. The problem has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, but I am arranging for the vehicle to be towed/inspected and do not intend to drive it due to the safety concern. The vehicle was recently inspec

I have had several instances of the infotainment system freezing up after starting the Jeep and putting it into reverse. When this happens, the radio sound is replaced with a buzzing noise and the rear camera image becomes frozen. None of the radio controls work and putting the vehicle into Park doesn't have any impact. The only resolution is to push and hold the power button until the system resets. This defeats the purpose of having a rear camera while reversing and puts the failure at the worst possible time (while backing up).

Yesterday evening we were driving and the orange check engine light came on. Followed by a red battery light, the red turtle and an exclamation point with a car and a speedometer symbol. It would not let me switch to electric e-save and kept me in hybrid mode. Regenerative braking would not work either. Once safely parked it was making a loud high pitched whining noise. It would also drop RPMs while idling and then they would rev up quickly. Once the tow truck arrived he tried to drive it up on the flat bed but it had no power to make it up the ramp and had to be pulled with the tow cable up the ramp. Another thing I have noticed as of the last 68c update is that when in electric mode and merging onto a freeway for example, it gets really sluggish at about 65mph and the gas engine won't kick in like it used to before the update. It doesn't go above 65 and slows down to about 62 even if my foot is pedal to the floor before ice kicks in. Makes it pretty dangerous to be merging with traffic going 70+.

Started car and check engine light was on. Started to drive it and the battery and other lights came on. Engine sounded funny and electric motor was not available. As I was trying I needed to pull off because it was not moving smoothly and was jerky. I pulled over into a parking lot and put in park and the lights indicated it was in charging mode. After repeated attempts to turn the vehicle completely off I was able to. When I was able to finally turn it back on it the engine was very loud. While driving the car would accelerate when I did not have my foot on the brake and was getting warm inside the cabin. At random times the battery light and a red turtle would appear saying the speed was being limited. This happened repeatedly. The following day on the way to try to bring it to the dealership to fix it the speed was increasing while on flat ground unless I had foot on break and then the red turtle would come back on. I determined it was unsafe to drive and requested a tow to the dealership.

With the recent completion of recalls 68&78c , and a new HV battery, APPEARS TO ME, thatJeep has changed the software for the throttle response when in electric mode. The result creates a safety hazard as you lose pedal response and power when the battery reaches below 35% or about 9 miles remaining. On the highway the jeep loses all power and will not accelerate over 62 mph. And the same around town when you need that extra umph, the pedal becomes dead. More Scary when you’re on the highway!! The result? Since the electric power output is unavailable, you have to mash the pedal to the flow to kick it out of electric mode. But this is also unsafe as now you start the engine (often cold as I was running electric mode) and you smash the rpm’s over 6k to launch the gas engine (That can’t be good for the engine long term) . Before battery replacement and recall software updates, this process was very smooth and occurred with 5% or less battery life. This had occurred a few times and could probably reproduce it when this scenario is present

I am the lessee of a 2024 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe currently subject to the active manufacturer recall involving engine contamination that may cause catastrophic engine failure, vehicle fire, and sudden unrecoverable loss of propulsion. This recall presents a substantial safety concern for continued daily operation of the vehicle. I am concerned for my personal safety and the safety of my passengers due to the manufacturer’s acknowledgment that this defect can occur without warning. In addition to the safety risk, this unresolved defect has substantially reduced the value and marketability of the leased vehicle while I remain contractually obligated to continue high monthly lease payments through May 2027. I am filing this complaint due to serious concern regarding the safety, diminished value, and continued financial burden associated with this unrepaired manufacturer defect.

My vehicle was purchased brand new and currently has only about 13,000 miles. Despite this, it is already being recommended for a full engine replacement. The dealership has diagnosed coolant seeping into cylinder 4, indicating a failing head gasket. I do not understand how this could be attributed to me, as the car is still very new and has never overheated. I first noticed the issue in April 2025, when I had to begin regularly adding coolant. I have kept receipts documenting all coolant purchases since that time. However, the dealership is refusing to cover the repair, claiming that I am at fault because I replaced the coolant expansion tank. The timeline clearly shows otherwise. The coolant loss began in April 2025, while the expansion tank was not replaced until July 2025—months after the issue had already started. While the expansion tank is part of the cooling system, it would not cause a head gasket failure. This situation has also created a safety concern for my family, as my wife and child are now afraid to drive the vehicle due to the risk of being stranded where most hawaii roads do not have safe shoulder to pull over on. According to the traffic safety of Honolulu, there are numerous cases where people were killed for being on the side of the road. Given these facts, I am requesting that this matter be reevaluated and that the necessary repairs, including engine replacement if required, be covered under warranty.

On April 17th 2024 my vehicle received a recall update 68C regarding the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle battery. Two days later, I was driving on a major freeway in Southern California, noticed that the EV battery was not being depleted as it remained at 100%. Shortly thereafter, a check engine light came on, and the power was severely restricted. Within a few minutes, the vehicle completely lost power in the middle of the freeway and I was able to get over to the right shoulder. At this point, the vehicle had no power and I could not turn the vehicle off either regarding the electronics. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership in San Diego, and by the time it was at the dealership, the vehicle was in full lockout mode and had zero battery power left and could not even lock the doors. This caused a significant safety hazard as I was with my [XXX] child and the vehicle just completely lost power on the freeway. The vehicle is now at the dealership and they are giving me a very hard time saying that there is nothing wrong with it, but I have read that there have been many problems with this recall update. The dealership told me that the problem was a bad 12 V battery and that I needed to pay to replace that and I argued with them that that was not the problem and they are not addressing the major issue with a complete power loss on the freeway after a required software update that has known problems. Vehicle started missing at around 2000 miles, also a check engine light came on. Took it to Rick Hendrick Jeep and they ended up replacing an oxygen sensor and telling me the Vehicle was not missing even though I have OBD reports showing the engine missing. At around 7000 miles I performed the second oil change on the vehicle, when inspecting the old oil filter I found larger particles of metal in it. I took the vehicle back to Rick Hendrick and the mechanic looked at the filter that was new (only 500 miles) and said he only found glitter. The mechanic said this is normal for break in. The pieces I see in the oil filter are larger and some look like lathe shavings. I have pictures of the metal particles. So I was given back the vehicle and told it's ok. I know it isn't ok with that amount of metal in the engine and am afraid it will leave me stranded on the highway.

My Jeep Wrangler 4xe now has controlled/limited electric propulsion while driving in electric only mode after 68c recall was performed. With no warning while driving in electric only mode, my vehicle will not accelerate without accelerator press almost to the floor to activate the internal gas engine. This behavior on a cold run starts out fine, but as the vehicle(electrical system) warms, the limitations come on strong can catch the driver completely off guard if needing to accelerate quickly to merge into traffic or enter freeway on ramps. This erratic behavior is both dangerous to the driver along with other drivers on the road. My dealer has driven the vehicle on a short(in town) test drive and concluded the vehicle drives as intended by the manufacture. No warning are lamps visible, and as outside temps rise, this issue seems to be more apparent. This electrical behavior started the day I received my vehicle from the dealer after 68c recall was performed. The software that is now installed on these 4xe vehicles seem to be limiting/cutting the electrical output of the onboard high voltage battery to limit or eliminate heat stress on the internal battery known to catch fire and burn under heavy load. This creates a safety hazard to owners who drive these vehicles that basically stall out(no acceleration/dead pedal) without warning given to the operator prior to the software limiting the battery output to the vehicle drive train at will. Vehicle shut off while driving. Luckily we were in right lane and we just drifted into breakdown lane with no power steering or power braking. These cars are unsafe 2500-4000 lb missiles going down the roadway and the government is continuing to allow them on the roadway with serious life jeopardizing known defects. The dealers point at Jeep, Jeep points to dealers, both point to Stelantis and it an endless run around. All we want is out of the lease and nobody will help. We can’t drive the car as it’s unsafe. Our dealer is trying to help and gave us a loaner car (of much less value) but we are paying a lease on a much higher cost car while driving a low value loaner, meanwhile Stelantis just ignores the request to be let out of the lease without paying the full lease value on turn in. That’s over $13,000 if we turn it in now. Stelantis says work with your dealer. The dealer says we can’t do anything until they come out with a fix. We just want out of the lease. These cars are unsafe, by their own admission, and should not be on the roadways.

While driving approximately 35 MPH on a 4 lane major roadway, the vehicle suddenly shut off in motion, resulting in a complete loss of power. This included loss of power steering and the ABS system. The vehicle effectively locked up, and a message appeared on the display instructing me to place the vehicle in park. As a result of the shutdown, the vehicle lost all propulsion and came to a complete stop in an active travel lane of a high-speed roadway. There was no ability to maneuver the vehicle out of traffic. I could not steer it to safety, restart it, or shift it into neutral. The vehicle was fully immobilized in the roadway. This left me and my family stopped in an active lane of traffic, exposed to oncoming vehicles traveling at highway speeds, creating an immediate and serious risk of collision. At the time of the incident, I had two children in the vehicle. We remained in this dangerous position until police arrived and an hour after. The vehicle ultimately had to be removed from the roadway with assistance, as it was not operable. During the event, there was a total loss of electrical power. The critical safety systems, including brake lights, were not functioning during the shutdown. After attempting to reset the battery, the vehicle continued to malfunction. It would not properly turn on or off, wouldn't shift into neutral and remained unable to be moved. This is the third occurrence of this; once was while driving at highway speeds. While braking at low speed approaching a stoplight, the vehicle did not slow as expected when I removed my foot from the accelerator. As I applied increasing brake pressure, the engine revved and the vehicle continued to move forward into the intersection. The brakes appeared to be working but had to counter engine power, and the tires briefly chirped. I shifted into neutral to stop the vehicle and then backed out of the intersection. If another vehicle had been stopped in front of me, a collision would likely have occurred. The vehicle was in Fuel and Oil Refresh Mode (FORM) with Max Regenerative Braking enabled at the time of the incident. There were no warning lights or messages. I provided dashcam video to the dealer. The dealer was unable to duplicate the condition but reported that stored vehicle data showed ABS activation during the incident. The dealer has documented the event as a safety concern and reported it to the manufacturer. This appears to involve unintended forward movement or application of engine power while braking, creating a significant safety risk.

After the 68c recall the power of the electric drive is limited. Frequent power loss occurs on highway driving during acceleration (merging onto highway or passing other cars). Despite the battery being charged up to 50% there is only 25% power available. The car is a plug in hybrid vehicle. The internal combustion engine states in these cases with several seconds delay. During that time the car does not accelerate sufficiently to safely merge onto a highway or pass other cars. The power loss happens without warning during critical drive situations like merging onto a highway or passing other cars. The driver expects a continuous level of power by the car, not a sudden power loss. This is reported by countless other drivers on all social media platform as a consequence of the 68C recall that affects 350 000 Jeep Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe. Jeep does not respond to customer complaints or requests for clarification.

The issue involves the engine/powertrain system as identified in Recall 78C for my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. The recall states there is a risk of catastrophic engine failure, vehicle fire, and unexpected loss of propulsion. At this time, the manufacturer has indicated that no repair remedy is available. This defect creates a safety concern because sudden loss of propulsion or engine failure could occur without warning while driving, increasing the risk of a crash, especially at highway speeds or in traffic. Prior to the recall, I experienced an incident where the vehicle began sputtering and would not respond properly to acceleration, significantly limiting vehicle movement. The issue was evaluated by a dealership, but the condition could not be replicated at that time. Based on the current recall involving engine contamination and propulsion failure, I am concerned that this prior incident may be related. The problem has not been resolved because there is currently no available repair. The manufacturer has acknowledged the defect through the recall but has not provided a timeline for a fix. I have contacted the manufacturer regarding this safety issue; however, my concerns about the risk associated with this defect have not been addressed, and no resolution has been provided. I am submitting this complaint to document the safety risk associated with this unresolved defect and the lack of an available remedy. A recall for the possibility that sand may have entered the engine during casting has been in place since November 2025. To date, Stellantis has not provided a remedy that, in my opinion, should require a complete engine replacement. I am required to travel extensively, often hundreds of miles at a time, for work, and this is my only vehicle. I am frequently on freeways with a speed limit of 65-70 mph. Knowing there is a chance my vehicle could suddenly suffer a catastrophic engine failure and fire at these speeds is absolutely terrifying, not only for me and any injuries that I might suffer, but also for the drivers sharing the road with me.

On December 10, 2025, at approximately 7:30 PM, I experienced a complete and sudden power loss while driving home. Without any warning, my vehicle shut down entirely in the middle of the road. I was unable to move the vehicle to safety, shift it into park or neutral, or regain any control of the vehicle. This left me stranded in an extremely dangerous situation, exposed to oncoming traffic and at significant personal risk. Due to the total failure of the vehicle, I was forced to have it towed to a Jeep dealership. A vehicle of this age and condition should not experience a catastrophic failure of this nature—especially one that creates such a severe safety hazard. This incident has caused serious concern regarding the reliability and safety of my vehicle. A complete loss of power while driving is unacceptable and could have resulted in a far more serious outcome. I am requesting a full investigation into this failure, a clear explanation of the cause, and immediate corrective action. Additionally, I expect Jeep to address the safety implications of this issue and provide assurance that this will not happen again. Please treat this matter with urgency. 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe has had multiple safety recalls. My Jeep began losing all engine power while driving down the highway, causing it to jump forward and stall back. During this power malfunction, the engine began smoking and a burning smell was emitted from the engine compartment. I was luckily close enough to home that I made it back to my driveway before it completely lost power. I was worried that it was going to catch fire and cause harm to my surrounding neighbors, so I stood outside for a while to make sure I did not need to call the fire department. I then reached out to Stellantis to have the vehicle towed to the nearest dealership because the issues that arose were consistent with the 78C recall. I opened a claim with Stellantis as well to have an inspector look at the vehicle but before they were able to see the vehicle, the dealership "repaired" it and said it was just a malfunctioning piston, and I could come get the Jeep. I refused, because it was still a safety risk with no fix for the recall and did not feel safe putting my safety at risk or others safety on the road at risk. Stellantis sent me a letter a week later saying the vehicle showed no signs of fire or burning and is safe to operate now. I refuse to believe this because a genuine inspection was never done to the vehicle after the incident and now Stellantis is putting my and others safety at risk by saying the vehicle is "fixed".

My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is subject to Recall 78C (NHTSA #25V-766) regarding sand contamination in the engine. The manufacturer officially warns that this defect can cause 'catastrophic engine failure' resulting in a 'vehicle fire' or an 'unrecoverable loss of propulsion'. As of April 2026, the manufacturer has no available fix for this safety hazard. Simultaneously, the vehicle suffers from persistent electrical failures. Despite a repair attempt on March 3, 2026, where the 12V battery was replaced under warranty, the vehicle continues to display 'Aux Switches Temporarily Unavailable' errors accompanied by constant audible chiming while driving. These combined defects create an extreme and unreasonable safety risk. Because the manufacturer has admitted the engine is a fire hazard but cannot provide a repair, the vehicle is effectively unmarketable and unsafe for operation. I am currently grounded and utilizing a rental vehicle as I do not feel safe operating this Jeep.

I am reporting a recurring structural failure of the Sky One-Touch power top assembly on my 2024 Jeep Wrangler. Since August 28, 2024, the vehicle has been out of service for a cumulative total of 62 business days across seven separate repair attempts. Safety Risk: The failure involves the tensioning system and internal springs of the power top. The defect has progressed to the point that visible daylight is present through the gaps between the roof assembly and the vehicle body while the top is fully closed. At highway speeds (55–70 mph), this gap causes the roof to lift and oscillate significantly. This creates a severe driver distraction and poses an unreasonable risk of the assembly further destabilizing or detaching from the vehicle while in motion, endangering occupants and trailing traffic. Dealer Misconduct & Repair History: During the third repair attempt, a service associate confirmed the loss of tension in the straps and springs. However, the technician subsequently refused to document these findings. The dealership omitted from their report to Stellantis that they performed unauthorized 'readjustments' and 'screwed the assembly back in' to temporarily mask the defect. This deceptive reporting prevents an accurate warranty history and deliberately avoids Lemon Law accountability. Despite these 'fixes,' the structural seal remains compromised. The vehicle is currently unsafe for highway operation."

We have a video showing all of the warning lights flashing during this incident (it is not allowing me to upload a video below as the file is too large) The vehicle also currently has recalls and service campaigns, including Recall 78C related to a potential engine defect and HBMHCP related to the hybrid battery system. These issues make us feel the vehicle is unsafe and not reliable to drive. The recalls and issues have also affected our ability to use the vehicle as intended and have reduced the value of the vehicle. We are concerned that this vehicle may have a safety defect related to the engine or hybrid/electrical system that could cause loss of power, steering, braking, or vehicle control. We have been told there is currently no fix for these issues and that we should continue driving the vehicle, to park outside and not charge it. This makes us feel the vehicle may be unsafe and unreliable to drive. We are making monthly payments for a vehicle that does not behave as intended.

Manufacturer has not remedied two safety recalls in a timely manner, and instead provided me written guidance via email stating it is safe to drive the vehicle, despite two open safety recalls which both state the issues can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. Vehicle has had Manufacturer Recall Number A7C (NHTSA Recall Number 25V-710) since Oct 17,2025, and Manufacturer Recall Number 78C (NHTSA Recall Number 25V-766) since Nov 06,2025.

I own a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe that I purchased in September of 2024 from Charlie's Jeep in Augusta as a used car with just under 5,000 miles. Now it has about 11,888 miles and has been un-driveable since December 1 due to unresolved safety recalls. The car is a certified used Jeep and is under warranty and has two current major safety recalls, one of which does not have a solution and a fix. The first recall is for a faulty hybrid battery that can catch on fire, and the second recall is for residual sand left in the engine, which can cause a sudden loss of propulsion and/or fire. This sand can migrate to other parts of the car, so an engine replacement would not be a complete fix. Currently, the car has a "Do Not Drive" recommendation from Jeep and as a result, it has been sitting at the dealer since December 1, 2025. Because of the recalls, the value and safety of the car is very much depreciated. I have tried to work with Jeep and the dealer on a reasonable solution to no avail.

Jeep has failed to provide a solution or a refund for the recall 78c for the wrangler 4xe. I am unable to park in my garage or any garage, I’m unable to use the electric features of the hybrid, and I’m uncertain of the fire risk will impact my vehicle. I would like reimbursement for the lack of functionality for the past 4 months. And I would like to turn in the leased vehicle since they still have no solution. I want penalties waived.

There are multiple recalls on my vehicle the 68c which was a overheating battery issue that a software update was performed but the underlying battery issue still exists and the 78c which is sand casting in the engine block which has no fix and the dealer has no remedy because Stellantis has no remedy they say it could cause catastrophic engine failure but it’s safe to drive they refuse to give me a loaner or reimburse me for a rental vehicle they also refuse to buy back my vehicle so I can get into a safe gas powered vehicle I find this unacceptable and would like you to take action against this company please help us Thank you [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I am submitting this complaint regarding a new safety incident involving my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe after completion of the repair associated with Recall 68C. The Recall 68C repair was completed on January 28, 2026. After that repair, the vehicle experienced new and serious operating failures. The vehicle repeatedly tripped my home charging circuit during charging attempts. In addition, the vehicle's electric mode malfunctioned despite the battery showing charge. The vehicle then experienced loss of propulsion and stalled while driving, creating a serious safety risk. Because of this incident, the vehicle was towed through Jeep Roadside Assistance and is now at Schumacher Jeep in [XXX] for diagnosis. The vehicle is currently not safely operable. Recall 78C also remains open with no available remedy. This complaint is being submitted as a new safety incident following completion of the Recall 68C repair, and it should be reviewed together with my prior ODI complaints, including ODI XXXand ODI XXX. I can provide supporting documentation, including recall records, repair records, tow documentation, and dealer information. CAR WOULD NOT START AND WOULD NOT CHARGE. WHEN JEEP SHUT OFF IT WOULD SHOW THE RED PLUG SYMBOL. ONCE IT FINALLY STARTED, I NOTICED THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. IT FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL SO I COULDN'T COME TO A COMPLETE STOP FOR VERY LONG IF AT ALL. IF I DID COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND I WAS ON A HILL, IT WOULD START TO ROLL BACKWARDS. WHEN I WOULD ACCELORATE, IT FELT LIKE IT WAS STUCK IN 2ND GEAR, WHEN I WOULD TAKE MY FOOT OFF OF THE PEDAL IT WOULD CONTINUE TO ACCELORATE A FEW MPH AND THEN WOULD FINALLY SLOW DOWN. AT TIMES IT WOULD NOT WANT TO ACCELORATE, EVEN IF YOU DID HAVE YOUR FOOT ALL THE WAY DOWN. DID NOT WANT TO REVERSE AT TIMES. DIDNT FEEL LIKE IT WANTED TO GO. THE JEEP WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO DRIVE IN E-SAVE, OR ELECTRIC, EVEN THOUGH THE BATTERY WAS 100% CHARGED AND HAD A HALF TANK OF GAS. THE JEEP WOULD ONLY DRIVE IN HYBRID MODE. WE HAD THE JEEP AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR ONE OF THREE RECALLS THIS JEEP WAS APART OF. IRONICALLY MY JEEP DID NOT START HAVING ISSUES UNTIL THAT SPECIFIC RECALL WAS "FIXED". IF I WERE TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE THIS JEEP, NOT ONLY WOULD I CAUSE HARM TO OTHER DRIVERS AROUND ME, BUT MY CHILDREN AND MYSELF THAT DRIVE IN THIS VEHICLE ON A DAILY BASIS. IT HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP SINCE FRIDAY THE 13TH WITH NO RESOLUTION.

See attached document for complaint. Sir: You are aware that this vehicle has two active Recall Notices attached to it; either of which can result in a vehicle fire, sudden loss of power, and loss of life or injury. Which means that I own an expensive vehicle which cannot be safely driven. Nor can it be traded in for another vehicle in its current condition. The manufacturer does not have an available fix for 25V-766 (engine contaminated with sand during manufacturing process); and since this defect can (in their own words) " ... lead to a catastrophic engine failure ... " it is unsafe to drive this vehicle at any speed. The other recall involves defects with the battery pack, which can lead to vehicle fire. There is no available fix for this defect either. My dealer has already attempted unsatisfactorily to correct multiple problems with the hybrid power system unrelated to the recall. Is the NHTSA planning to do anything to assist the thousands of people who own hybrid Jeep Wranglers affected by these defective systems? It would seem to me that the manufacturer should be mandated to repurchase these dangerous vehicles from the owners at market value or to provide a replacement vehicle of equal or greater value. The American drivers who own these dangerous vehicles should not continue to be put at risk any longer.

JEEP Wrangler 2024 Issues PLATE NUMBER [XXX] BIN # [XXX] To whom it may concern, I would like to request a courtesy incentive or compensation due to the repeated recalls and repair situations with my Jeep Wrangler. There have been three lengthy recall repairs this winter. The extended repair times, especially when parts are back-ordered, have resulted in wasted time and additional mileage on my lease from trips to the dealership, appointments, and test drives. The electric engine issues have been particularly concerning, as the failure has rendered the vehicle inoperable on some occasions, posing a significant safety risk. There have been instances where the vehicle has completely stopped, created a dragging effect, and failed to start in winter, while experiencing malfunctions in all electric components. My fuel consumption has significantly increased over the past three months due to these repairs, and I am no longer able to effectively use the electric engine feature. The service department has been unable to diagnose the electric engine failure after multiple attempts, and as a result, the battery is being overcharged without engaging the electric motor. There have been numerous unresolved issues and repairs that have not been successfully completed. I acquired this hybrid vehicle after considering the advertising regarding its favorable fuel efficiency and the electric rechargeable engine feature. However, this feature has not been utilized this winter due to repeated ma

My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe High Altitude and a serious safety concern related to the ongoing battery fire recall associated with this vehicle. I have leased this vehicle since new and it currently has only approximately 8,200 miles. The vehicle is in excellent, like-new condition and has been very carefully maintained. However, due to the fire safety concerns related to the hybrid battery system, I no longer feel safe driving or even parking this vehicle near my home or garage. Because of these concerns, I have intentionally limited my use of the vehicle, which is reflected in the extremely low mileage. I currently lease the vehicle through Stellantis Financial Services and have approximately 12 payments remaining. When I contacted them regarding my safety concerns, I was directed to Jeep Customer Care for assistance. Given the nature of the safety recall and the fact that the vehicle is essentially new, I am respectfully requesting that Jeep review my situation for possible customer assistance. I would greatly appreciate information on whether any of the following options may be available: • Lease termination assistance • Vehicle replacement or exchange • Manufacturer buyback or repurchase review • Any other recall-related customer relief programs

I own a 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe (VIN [XXX]) that is subject to a federally mandated safety recall involving the high-voltage battery system. I attempted to have the recall performed by an authorized Jeep/Stellantis dealership, Carson Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Carson City, Nevada. During communications with the dealership’s Service Manager, I was informed that the dealership would not perform the recall unless I signed dealership-specific authorization documents and agreed to their internal policies. The dealership further stated that if their evaluation determined the hybrid battery required replacement, they would retain (“quarantine”) the vehicle for an extended period and would not provide alternative transportation beyond a limited initial period, requiring me to pay for a rental thereafter. I objected to being required to pay transportation costs caused by a manufacturer safety recall and to signing waivers as a condition of recall service. I made clear that I was requesting that the recall be performed. The dealership then refused further service and removed me as a customer, stating that because I would not agree to their conditions they would not perform the recall and recommending I find another dealer. I subsequently sent written notice to Stellantis / Jeep corporate headquarters explaining the situation and requesting assistance to complete the recall. Stellantis did not respond to either of my written notices. As a result, my vehicle remains subject to an

See attached document for complaint. I want to love my Jeep. However I cannot. How is it that Stellantis corporation and Jeep are allowed by the applicable government agencies to not be responsible to 2024 JEEP 4xe customers for the current safety and depreciation concerns for their 4xe vehicles? The recent email offering a $100 gift card was extremely insulting. My reasons for purchasing Jeep: • Typical resale value of Jeep has been great. o History shows typical depreciation is 30% over 5 years. o My 2024 Jeep has realized 55% depreciation in one model year due to the problems and recalls. o My 2024 4xe has lost value from $62,802 to $28,000 (Kelly Blue Book) in one model year if you can find someone to buy it with the three pending recalls and no fix. • Advertised gas mileage o The window sticker indicates 49 mpg when charged. • The reality is that the highest gas mileage I have seen for the Jeep, even when fully charged, is 21.6 mpg. • Local dealer with a good history of service o Dealer cannot help because they do not have instructions or direction from Stellantis on how to manage the 4xe problems. o Service manager said a 3-week wait for rental. • Pride of ownership. o Jeep owners have a bond and tend to take pride in their JEEP. • It is not safe to park my new Jeep in my garage. • How can I protect it if It must stay outside in the elements. • Safety o Jeeps tend to be safe. However, this Jeep is not. • Battery fires- this has been a safety issue since 27 Sep 2024. • E

Issue type: 1.) Electrical system / hybrid battery 2.) Safety recall with no remedy My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe currently has open safety recalls (78C and A7C) with no available remedy. These recalls have been open for several months. I have been advised that the vehicle may pose a safety risk, yet I am continuing to make lease payments and rely on the vehicle for transportation. The manufacturer has not provided a repair timeline or resolution. I do not feel safe operating the vehicle and am seeking assistance because the defect cannot currently be repaired.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
