All four (4) brand new tires failed Pennsylvania inspection less than two years, 18,881 miles, 5/32nds inch tread remaining due to dry rot (rubber material breakdown due to poor manufacturing and workmanship). Nexen denied both of my warranty claims for a pro-rata refund, and Better Business Bureau of Akron was unable to resolve.
2024 Jeep Wrangler complaints

After a cold start (sitting for a few hours or overnight) if I were to give the vehicle some gas, 15% pressure on the petal, the car bucks violently shifting from 1st to 2nd to the extent of 'chirping' the tires. This happens about 50% of all starts, the severity varies from slight (like a small bump in the road) to violent (chirping the tires \ breaking suddenly) It's been reported several times to the dealer but they cannot replicate the issue.
This is an ongoing issue with the hybrid battery system. Jeep had a 68C recall that I had done to my Jeep Wrangler. After completing the recall my performance was reduced when in electric mode. I have had multiple times where I was trying to speed up and get into traffic and I was not able to get above 25% power. To say the least those times were dangerous situations. I would have to put my petal all the way to the floor to force the gas motor to take over. At this point the gas motor cold starts and revving up to 6000 rpm. This is terrible on a motor. It only takes once to either get into a wreck (from loss of power) or possibly blow up a motor (from cold starting and over revving). I have taken the Jeep back to the dealership numerous times for the issue and they say it is fine and within Jeep standard. I know my Jeep is not operating like it was before the 68C recall and something needs to be done to get Jeep to fix the issue.
I want to preface by saying I love my Jeep and I baby it. It only has 13k miles on it (mostly highway) and I have never taken it offroad. However, I paid a ton of money for a vehicle that, not only has lost more than half it's value in 2 years, but is also not reliable or safe. A 70k value vehicle that is only worth less than 30k now. I have several ongoing issues and they have happened multiple times. The 68C and 78C recalls caused SO many issues with performance, safety and reliability of my Jeep. Jeep misrepresented the number of affected vehicles. I purchased my Jeep based on the claimed reliability, good fuel economy (for a Jeep) and the low end torque and peppy ride it used to have. Following the 68C and 78C recalls, it no longer responds the way it should (and used to) when pressing the gas pedal. Power is greatly reduced and it inhibits my ability to safely merge into traffic and accelerate on the highway. My Jeep abruptly died in the middle of a highway in June while I was accelerating to switch lanes. The Jeep came to a halting stop from 65mph-0mph in a matter of 2-3 seconds and a car behind me almost rear ended me. Jeep advises not to park near the house or charge it. I can't park in the garage so my Jeep also takes a weather beating year round. When I press the brake with force, the Jeep skids and skips forward before stopping. I have had MANY close calls where I almost rear ended someone at a stop light because the Jeep lurches forward on its own. When braking, i
The Wrangler 4xe after the latest recall has had issues with power, switching from driving with all electric to driving with the engine running. Have had several instances of very laggy pedal response (even at highway speeds) which could cause a safety issue or accident.
1: Ever since one of the recalls was "addressed", the vehicle seems to lack power when taking off, etc. It seems like it lacks propulsion. 2: I was driving on the highway several times, and for no reason, the power reduces greatly and I am unable to go above 60 mph. The warning light (as seen in the attached) comes on and stays on until the vehicle is turned off. This has happened to me several times at different speeds (with and without adaptive cruise control on). I cannot seem to replicate this again, and, when the light comes on, it's been at times that I was unable to take it to the dealer with the light on. It sat at my local dealer for about 3 weeks cumulative as of lately, and they could not get the light to come on. They even got a TA to come out, and they couldn't find the issue or cause the light to go on. Keep in mind...this is a leased vehicle, and miles matter. I took the car back since I cannot continue paying for a rental (even though they eventually may reimburse me). I have had several issues with this vehicle throughout the life of the lease. I cannot wait to turn it in or possibly involve a lawyer for a lemon law issue. I cannot continue paying what I do for my lease and not having a reliable vehicle to drive. I'm paying a premium payment and am not comfortable driving this car anymore. It is a safety hazard with not knowing when this warning light and lack of power will occur. Please make Stellantis/Jeep make this right!! I LOVED my Wrangler, but the risks
After 68C recall completed, there is a noticeable reduced power and sudden engine (ICE) starts when it shouldn't be needed. It takes seconds for the vehicle to pickup speed when needed such as when merging lanes which causes a high risk for an accident due to this delay in response. This vehicle is not running as intended, it seems the threshold has been reduced on purpose which is not why I purchased this vehicle to begin with. I need this vehicle to operate as it once used to. Since there has not been a code produced dealer is not able to help. This is not a one off I know other consumers are running into the same situation something needs to be done to resolve the root cause of the problem and not mask it while changing the vehicles original specifications in terms of performance.
After the 68C recall (software update) for my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE, the Jeep no longer is able to climb the hill that I live on when using only the electric motor, the Jeep starts to slow down and keeps slowing down until about 5 mph at which the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) kicks in and only at that point will the jeep be able to make it up the hill and accelerate back up to speed. Prior to the recall, I had no issues with the Jeep having enough power to climb the hill with only the electric motor. The ICE never needed to kick in nor did the Jeep slow down. The issue is now when I have other cars behind me they sometimes get angry as the Jeep slows down waiting on the ICE to kick in. It's like the recall programmatically reduced the amount of power the electric motor/electric battery is allowed to produce. Second issue is that the Jeep will kick in the ICE at times when you don't expect it to causing a sudden acceleration and that scares me when I don't expect it to happen, sometimes this even causes the tires to spin/bark. This usually occurs when I try to take off from a dead stop and I am turning at the same time. I had no issues with the behavior of the Jeep prior to the 68C battery recall and this new behavior, in my opinion, is not safe.
After the 68C Jeep recall(NHTSD 25V-741), my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe began losing power and propulsion while in electric and hybrid mode. I have to drive on a hilly highway to and from work and the Jeep just loses acceleration and the gas pedal does nothing to regain momentum. This is becoming quite dangerous for me and fellow drivers on the the road near me. This is a definite safety concern which needs to be addressed. I have taken my Jeep to the dealership three times now explaining the problem, but they are unable to duplicate it or pull codes from the internal computer showing what was happening. I even receive warning lights and a message on the dash stating to take vehicle to the service center for maintenance, but when I restarted the vehicle the message was gone. Again, this is extremely dangerous and needs to be addressed and corrected. Thank you.
I am reporting a serious safety issue with my 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon X. When operating the vehicle in electric (EV) mode, the vehicle intermittently fails to maintain forward propulsion when I press the accelerator. There is a dangerous hesitation or complete loss of throttle response, particularly when attempting to merge into highway traffic or when climbing a hill. The vehicle can suddenly lose power even though the accelerator pedal is being pressed. This loss of forward power creates an extremely dangerous situation because the vehicle cannot maintain the flow of traffic or accelerate when needed. I have experienced multiple near-accidents as a result of this hesitation and lack of throttle response. The problem has made me consider the vehicle unsafe to drive, particularly in situations requiring immediate acceleration. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue as a potential safety defect affecting the 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. This is a very frightfully consistent issue now
When in electric mode, after driving about 5 miles, it will suddenly drop power and not accelerate. After 5-10 seconds the engine will turn on. It's in the 5-10 seconds that is a safety concern because it can happen at any time, merging into traffic, or other time when acceleration is necessary to avoid a collision. I've talked to my dealership and they say it's normal because there are no engine codes.
This is a 2024 Jeep RubiconX with 10.5k miles. I was running 60mph on a state highway on electric mode. I Didn’t see the battery was nearing 50%… sure enough Jeep lost power at 50% charge even though I was trying to floor it to keep it moving. The ICE kicked in a few seconds later. There was a car right behind me and understandably started honking his horn thereafter. Not even sure if my tail lights turned on when it lost power- I’m assuming not because my foot wasn’t on the brakes. Next morning the Jeep is dead. Dealership confirmed HV battery replacement. I’m just not sure how these are still allowed on the road. Specially with what 3 or 4 recalls on the same batteries with which Jeep’s resolution is simply a software update to detect any bad battery? Even with the 4th recall on the same issue, there are still reports of vehicles catching up on fire while parked. Not sure how you can keep letting them get away with this. Now Jeep has been throttling battery and electric performance without letting the owners know of the changes- this last recall (68C) they installed the 50% threshold mentioned above where the battery will just stop providing power and make the engine take over after some delay. This experience is not unique to me- it has been reported by several others in the largest Jeep 4xe forum. Endangering peoples lives by killing battery power abruptly in the middle of the road to save Stellantis/Jeep money from actually putting a fix on the issue is just another Ford
The Vehicle has a lack of power in electric mode and stalls when the engine turns on to run on gas power. This is causing merging issues or ramping up to speed to enter the highway. When trying to quickly turn or avoid being hit by an oncoming traffic when you floor the accelerator, it lags and doesn’t engage power to quickly move out of the way. You have to be in gas mode for a quick response. This happens all the time.
2024 Jeep 4XE Wrangler Rubicon, 3 recalls, 1st EV battery, potential fire hazard, 2nd Sand in the engine, potential fire hazard, 3rd wiring harness for steering unit, potential fire hazard, all of them can cause a fire with it being parked and not even plugged in for charging. FCA sent out the recall notices, and later said they had remedies, the problem is the remedies aren't remedies at all. I was at my dealership 2 days ago talking to my service writer, and he told me that another customer with the same vehicle passed the so called remedy for sand in the engine, a few days later his engine light came on, and now the dealership is replacing his engine, with that being said doesn't that mean that even with a passed so called remedy, it could still be a fire hazard. I have had all the recalls done at my dealership, but I don't feel that they are being honest about any of these remedies actually working, and that everytime I get in the vehicle or park it I'm afraid that it could still catch fire. I have a vehicle that has been taken off the market by the manufacturer, and has told the dealerships not to sell them, I have tried to get some reimbursement, but have had no luck, am hiring an attorney to try to get something done.
Was difficult to start and check engine was immediately on after I got it started. Was running sluggish and went into turtle mode while driving it to the dealership.
I have leased this vehicle since November 2023. It currently has approximately 49,638 miles and has been in the dealership for service four separate times during the lease. More seriously, I have experienced TWO separate incidents where the Jeep completely shut off while I was driving. In both situations, the vehicle would not restart while I was on the freeway and roads, creating an extremely dangerous situation and a serious risk of an accident. This is no longer simply a customer satisfaction or warranty issue. I have genuine safety concerns about continuing to drive this vehicle. The vehicle has also been subject to multiple safety recalls, including: A7C / NHTSA 25V-710 68C / NHTSA 25V-741 78C / NHTSA 25V-766 21D/NHTSA 26V-363 25V-720 The combination of repeated service visits, multiple safety recalls, and two actual incidents of loss of power while driving has left me without confidence that this vehicle is safe or reliable. I contacted Jeep/Stellantis regarding this situation and was told that the assistance being offered is essentially reimbursement for a rental vehicle after I pay for the rental out of pocket. I do not believe that adequately addresses the seriousness of the situation. I am requesting that Stellantis formally review the complete repair and recall history of this vehicle and escalate my case to a regional case manager or other appropriate decision-maker. I am asking Stellantis to consider a meaningful resolution, including a lease termination, replace
Vehicle has recurring failure of the Uconnect infotainment system and underlying Telematics Box Module (TBM). Diagnostic code B1560-13 (Cellular Antenna 1: Circuit Open or Short to Battery) has been documented on two separate dealer visits. On the most recent occurrence, the head unit displayed an Android Recovery boot loop screen preventing normal system operation. The vehicle is subject to open Safety Recall A7C / NHTSA 25V-710, which the manufacturer has classified as a loss-of-drive-power defect caused by incomplete communication between the TBM and Hybrid Control Processor (HCP). Safety risk: Per the manufacturer's own recall description, the HCP may reset while driving, causing loss of motive power without warning. This creates a crash risk for the driver, passengers, and surrounding vehicles. The Uconnect failures appear to be a symptom of the same TBM communication defect. First reported to dealer May 2025 at approximately 8,687 miles (RO DOCS917129). Dealer performed TBM2 reset per STAR bulletin S228A000005 and cleared codes. Same defect returned. Reported again June 2026 at approximately 24,969 miles (RO DOCS935140). Dealer documented the exact same code B1560-13, referenced the same STAR bulletin, and stated in writing: "The remedy for this condition is not currently available." Dealer reseated a connector as an interim measure. Failure has since recurred with the Android Recovery boot loop. Warning symptoms prior to failure: intermittent "Uconnect Box See Dealer"
My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is subject to FCA US Safety Recall A7C, NHTSA Campaign 25V710, for a software condition that may cause incomplete communication between the Telematics Box Module (TBM) and Hybrid Control Processor (HCP). According to the recall notice, the HCP may reset while driving, resulting in a loss of drive power without prior warning and increasing the risk of a crash. I received an Important Safety Recall notice from FCA US stating that a remedy is not currently available and that I must wait for a follow-up notice when the remedy becomes available. As a result, I am unable to have this safety recall repaired despite my willingness to do so. I have not experienced a crash, fire, injury, or known loss-of-drive-power incident. I am submitting this complaint because my vehicle remains subject to an unresolved safety recall for which FCA US has not made the final remedy available.
My Jeep has had a recall since December 2025. I initially went to Burgaw, NC Dealership where I Leased my Jeep, with no luck. I made appointment They did not have the part. I was told they would call when it is available. I checked in every month , no part. I called the recall line in the summer 2026 and they made me an appointment at National Dodge in Jacksonville, NCthe first week of August. When I arrived for my scheduled appointment I was told they could not accommodate my appointment because it takes 5 hours. Holdridge Greene made another appointment for me for the following week on [XXX]. He also said he would be able to put me in a car so I wouldn't miss another entire day of work. I showed up and was told they could not help me that day because there were no cars, but they would call and reschedule as soon as possible. It is now [XXX] and no contact has been made. I would love to have my Jeep fixed as it has been affected by these recalls and issues have occurred. Any help is greatly appreciated! I purchased my Jeep Wrangler 4xe on Sept. 27, 2025 thinking all battery issues were addressed by the manufacturer. Then a month later the 68C hybrid battery recall is issued. My hybrid battery passed the 68C recall on Dec. 22 at the dealership. Ensuing 78C and 21D recalls meant I couldn't park in my garage and charge my vehicle for weeks at a time. My electric motor would not start on Aug. 11. Check engine light on, electric mode unavailable and AC not working. Then the vehicle forced itself into park while reversing to be towed to the dealer and died in the street. These vehicles are dangerous because there is no warning when they stop working. They just stop - sometimes in traffic or the middle of the street. With 68C, we were led to believe that only some batteries would have issues and that the installed software would monitor battery health. What we began to see was the batteries were structurally deficient and ALL batteries would fail at some point. The software was designed to shut the vehicle down if it detected a fault. Post 68C recall, many owners experienced a decrease in the performance of their Jeeps as the internal computer sought to balance battery load. This meant we weren't getting the MPG advertised and promised. We also received a warranty extension of unlimited miles and unlimited years. BUT, the fine print says the battery will be replaced ONLY if the value of the vehicle is more than the cost to replace the battery. My jeep has lost $14,000 in value in l
On approximately 95% of my driving trips, my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe suddenly and unpredictably loses acceleration or drive power. When I press the accelerator, the vehicle does not respond or accelerate normally. A warning then appears stating that electric mode is unavailable. After several seconds, the vehicle begins operating normally again. There is no apparent pattern, and this has occurred while traveling approximately 50 to 70 mph. The malfunction appears to involve the hybrid propulsion or power-control system. The vehicle is available for inspection. It is included in FCA Recall A7ululo:\/\/A nawe7Cl7C (NHTSA Campaign 25V-710), which concerns loss of drive power associated with an over-the-air software update. No remedy is currently available. This condition putssafety because I cannot rely on the Jeep to accelerate or maintain power when needed. At highway speeds, it could prevent me from responding to traffic, merging safely, or avoiding a hazard. I have stopped driving the Jeep on highways whenever possible and use back roads instead. The dealership has not yet reproduced or diagnosed this specific problem, although the symptoms are consistent with Recall A7C. The vehicle has received service for other recalls and is awaiting an engine replacement under a separate recall. It has not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or an independent repair facility for this issue. There is generally no warning before the loss of acceleration. The “Electric Mode
Intermittent delayed/loss of acceleration when accelerator is depressed, along with abnormal switching between electric and gasoline propulsion. Symptoms began after recall 68C was performed. I was on all electric at the time going 40 mph when compressing the accelerated did not work and the car seemed to slow for a few seconds before it engaged. I have roughly 15,500 miles on the Jeep and got the 68C done last fall.
I left my home for work on XXX. I noticed a lack of propulsion upon stepping on the gas & air conditioning blowing warm air. At a stoplight ([XXX] and [XXX] in [XXX]), I attempted to restart the vehicle in hopes that a reset may fix any issues. What I found was that my vehicle would not restart and I could not remove it from park in a busy intersection. After 30 minutes of trying, I was able to get it to turn on and move to the Burger King parking lot. A tow truck arrived and took me to the [XXX] Valley Chysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealer. They told me it would take until Tuesday XXX to look at it. They could not offer me a loaner nor a rental vehicle. They called on XXX and said it was a battery defect and may take weeks to repair. To date, my vehicle with 27,000 miles have been in for four separate recalls, citing lack of propulsion, risk of battery fire. Zero accidents. I no longer feel safe driving the vehicle after recalls: "the 2.0 engine may be contaminated with sand from the casting process ... leading to catastrophic engine failure." "firmware software...may cause loss of drive power which can cause a vehicle crash." "The high voltage battery may become damaged during normal vehicle operation ... advising owners to park away from structures or other vehicles" "Electric Hydraulic Power Steering Pump may have electrical issue ... may lead to a fire." The manufacturer and dealer are offering minimal insight or restitution for my experience or safety. INFORMATION REDACTED PURS
The car does not ride properly...it stops suddenly, it jolts, it vibrates, the battery sounds like it is overworking or overheating. Our plug-in charger caught fire and when we found out there was a recall on the battery we brought it to Jeep and they told us it's fine. But, it's not fine. It completely stalled while driving this morning and feels like it's going to blow up. I no longer feel safe driving it as it keeps jolting, stopping and feeling like it's going to explode.
Vehicle engine light comes on and says loss of power restart engine. Dealer found no codes and no repairs were made. This is the second occurrence.
Driving the vehicle and it had uncontrolled acceleration. The wipers went on and multiple lights went on, engine, brakes to name a few. The brake peddle did work. Picture below was after incident and not all the lights.
My year 2024 jeep had severe "death wobble" when driving over 60mph just over a minor bump, and it was over the horizontal metal rails on a long bridge. Dealership just replaced the steering damper, the car still loses control over small bumps when driving over 60mph. It's really scary when the bump happens at a curve on freeway. The dealership refuses to look over any other possible causes but to charge me $200 for tire balancing. My car has never taken the off road and never hit anything before. My previous 2009 jeep NEVER had death wobble issues with normal driving.
On August 26, 2026, my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, with approximately 32,000 miles, experienced a sudden loss of power while my family and I were driving. The vehicle lost power in an intersection, creating a serious safety hazard with surrounding traffic. We were stranded until help arrived, and the vehicle had to be towed because it would not restart. Before the loss of power, the A/C stopped blowing cold air. The check-engine light came on, dashboard components and warning indicators began flashing, the battery warning light appeared, and a “Service Charging System” warning was displayed. This was not simply an inconvenience. The sudden loss of power left us unable to move the vehicle in an intersection and created a significant risk of being struck by another vehicle, potentially causing serious injury or death. I am a military veteran, and this incident caused a severe stress and trauma response because I believed my family's safety and my life were in danger. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether this incident is related to a safety defect involving the charging system, electrical system, hybrid propulsion system, battery system, power electronics, software, or another component capable of causing sudden loss of motive power. I understand NHTSA has previously investigated loss of motive power involving Jeep Wrangler 4xe vehicles. I am reporting this incident so it can be included in NHTSA's safety data and evaluated for a possible broader safety defect. I can provi
My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE plug-in hybrid had the 68C recall performed at a Jeep Dealer. My vehicle was working flawlessly prior to this recall. After the recall was performed, the vehicle hybrid battery system now loses power when accelerating. For example, driving 45 MPH in electric mode on a level road for a minute causes the speed to reduce regardless of acceleration, with the exception of flooring the accelerator pedal which causes a surge of power from the gas engine, causing the vehicle to lurch forward. This creates an unsafe condition on the roadway as the vehicle cannot be reliably controlled. Often times now, the gas engine will surge when a vehicle is in front of me causing me to have to brake suddenly to avoid a collision. This problem persists with every drive under variable conditions. There are no warning lamps or messages besides, "electric mode temporarily unavailable," before it surges. The dealer has not re-inspected the vehicle since the service advisor told me after the recall, the vehicle will continuously assess the battery. He further stated if even the slightest problem is detected, the vehicle will shut down completely and I would need to get the vehicle towed. I find this recall solution to be totally unacceptable and unsafe for myself, my family, and other vehicles on the roadway. This situation needs to be investigated and Jeep should make this right for its customers.
In June 2026 the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe power shut down along with service engine light in two seperate instances while my son was driving at highway speed. I made the dealership aware and had the vehichle checked out. They said nothing wrong with vehichle. On July 25 2026 I was driving vehichle on highway and cruise control came on by itself along with service engine light. I had no power to accelerate. I had to pull over and shut car down before proceeding. I brought the vehichle to Paul Bailey dealership and they grounded the car on 8/7/2026 when Stellantis agreed to pay for a rental car.
I bought the Jeep Wrangler 4xe used in December 2025 and since then it has lost power, I received a hybrid battery service light and got stranded 3 times. My car was in the garage for the last 3.5 months and they could not find the issue. I received my car today 8/22 and on the same it went into limp mode and got stranded again with the same issue. I have no trust on the vehicle at all, its value has decreased tremendously and I do not know when I will eventually be able to drive it safely.
When driving in fully electric mode on the highway, my 4xe lit up an error message of “electric mode temporarily unavailable” and lost all power and momentum. I went from 70mph to 50 mph in heavy traffic before the hybrid motor came back to provide power after approximately 4-5 seconds. This is a repeating occurrence when attempting to drive in fully electric mode, even at low speeds. I have nearly been hit in rear end collisions when I have lost power as there is no warning, the acceleration just fails and I lose all power and momentum.
The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving 15 MPH the vehicle experienced a complete loss of automotive power, the steering wheel locked up, and all of the warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle came to a complete stop and was restarted. The contact continued to drive the vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and the contact was advised that no failure was found. The contact continued to drive the vehicle, and the failure reoccurred while driving at 75 MPH, the vehicle experienced a complete loss of automotive power, the steering wheel locked up, all of the warning lights were illuminated, and the following the message appeared on the instrument panel "Until you reach a desired location you may not be able to shift until serviced, do not take the vehicle out of gear until you are in a safe location". The vehicle was towed back to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 17,592.
I am requesting NHTSA investigate the handling of Safety Recall 78C on my Jeep Wrangler 4xe. My vehicle has entered a dangerous highway limp mode multiple times, including at approximately 75 mph, with sudden loss of power and an ACC! warning. This is especially dangerous on California highways and steep grades where losing propulsion can make it impossible to maintain traffic speed or safely reach a shoulder. The ACC! warning has appeared three times. On one occurrence, while the warning was active, O’Reilly Auto Parts scanned the Jeep and documented pending code P2338, Cylinder 3 Knock Control Threshold. I have the printout showing my VIN and mileage. The problem is that the warning/code clears after the ignition is shut off. When the condition happened on a Saturday, the Jeep service department was closed. Dealership sales staff refused to scan it and said only a technician could use a scanner. Even during business hours, the dealer says only a technician can scan it, but technicians may not be available for days. It is impossible to leave the vehicle running indefinitely waiting for someone to scan it. The Santa Maria Jeep dealer has now driven the vehicle twice and says that because the warning did not reappear during those short drives, they cannot confirm the condition. These events have occurred days apart, so two short test drives do not rule out an intermittent engine defect. I had the Jeep towed through Jeep Roadside Assistance because I consider it unsafe to drive.
On XXX my engine light came on and the engine overheated excessively. I pulled over immediately. I towed the vehicle to the Jeep dealer ([XXX]) on XXX. Service took the vehicle in for service to review the issues and refused to ground my lease that is due on XXX. Following the completion of the 68C recall update on 4/17/26 my 2024 Jeep 4xE experiences a severe loss of acceleration and throttle lag at highway speeds (over 50 mph) when in electric mode. When attempting to pass vehicles (and sometimes when in the oncoming traffic lane), or when just trying to maintain speed in traffic, the drivetrain abruptly throttles power; causing the vehicle to bog down and hesitate. There is no ability to accelerate and care slows. The gas pedal is essentially useless. The gas engine then performs a panic start, causing the vehicle to lurch forward at highway speeds. It has created and dangerous driving condition when passing, merging or just trying to keep pace the traffic around me. There is no way to know exactly when it will happen, so the unpredictability makes it even more dangerous. I understand this is an issue with many Jeep 4xE since the 68C recall update. It has happened to me 4 times now, the most recent was today. This is unacceptable.
"My vehicle [XXX] is subject to open Safety Recall for a high-voltage battery fire risk. The manufacturer has issued a 'Do Not Drive' / 'Park Outside' advisory, deeming the vehicle unsafe for operation. The Safety Defect: The vehicle poses an immediate fire hazard while charging or driving due to battery failure. Manufacturer Failure: Despite acknowledging the safety defect, Stellantis (Jeep) and the authorized dealer (Jerry V's Windward Hawaii Kaneohe Jeep) have refused to provide a loaner vehicle or direct-bill rental coverage. They insist on out-of-pocket reimbursement only, which I cannot afford. Impact: I am left without safe transportation for a known life-safety defect. The manufacturer is failing to remedy the safety issue within a reasonable time as required by federal law, leaving me stranded and at risk. When in electric mode - and this happens at all different battery percentages - it will drive normally for a bit and I've watched the screen and seen the KW go up and down normally for electric and it seems perhaps once the battery has heated up (my assumption) it throttles electric power at 46 or 48KW, and then does not accelerate anymore and instead will lose power/speed (which is dangerous in traffic) and eventually switch over to Hybrid and a message about Electric mode temporarily unavailable. While waiting for hybrid to kick on my speed decreases by about 15mph. This has also happened when trying to take off from a complete stop. So you can only accelerate and very slowly to perhaps 20-25mph then no more speed , nothing then hybrid clicks on and electric mode temporarily unavailable. It is basically making electric mode useless and dangerous. It occurs almost every time I drive it now, originally it was sporadic and has started to be more.
The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while reversing, the rear-view camera intermittently displayed a distorted image. The dealer was contacted and advised the contact to take the vehicle for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000.
I purchased my vehicle in March 2026 from the.dealership with a known active recall from November 2025 with fire risk, now there is an additional fire hazard recall and my vehicle is currently undriveable due to these recalls.
Unresolved Death Wobble after four attempts, the vehicle has experienced the recurring death wobble, steering control issue that has been presented to the dealership 4 times for repair, despite the repair attempts the problem remains. Because the issue involves steering stability and control i no longer feel safe operating the vehicle. I am requesting this be documented as a safety issue
While driving my vehicle, I have noticed a significant decrease in power and a corresponding slowdown, particularly in traffic conditions. This has resulted in a near-miss collision with another vehicle in the rear. Furthermore, attempting to accelerate the vehicle has proven futile. ps. The dealer where I brought the vehicle is kinda giving me a hard time & I fear for my family safety. honestly I dont feel like the dealer was being completly honest.
Engine temperature went up while driving. The warning light came on and I immediately pulled to the side of the road. After 6 minutes on the side of the road the engine started to smoke and then caught fire.
The contact owned a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 MPH, black smoke was coming from the exhaust, and the husband smelled an abnormal burning odor entering the cabin of the vehicle. The contact pulled over to the shoulder of the road, and a fire started coming from under the hood. The contact stated that while her husband was attempting to unlatch the hood, after unlatching the front driver’s and passenger’s side hood latches and attempting to unlatch the 3rd hood latch, the fire rose and burned both hands. The local Fire Department arrived on the scene to extinguish the fire. The source of the fire was not yet determined. A Police report was not filed. No medical attention was sought; however, the contact's husband had fallen attempting to create distance between the fire and sustained a pulled shoulder, bruises on the right elbow, and right knee, while being pre-diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. The vehicle was towed by a local independent mechanic. The contact and her husband were on vacation when the vehicle caught on fire and the luggage with personal items were burned in the fire. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed. Upon further investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V363000 (Steering); however, parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.
While driving on the highway, the vehicle suddenly lost power and would not accelerate beyond approximately 60 mph. This created a safety risk because I could not maintain normal highway traffic speed. I brought the vehicle to an authorized dealership, where a recall repair was performed. However, the same loss-of-power issue occurred again. After further inspection, the dealership informed me that the vehicle is subject to Safety Recall 78C and requires a complete engine replacement. I am not a technician and cannot determine the exact cause of the failure; I have relied on the dealership and Stellantis for diagnosis and repair. The dealership confirmed that the replacement engine is on backorder and the repair cannot be completed. My vehicle has been at the dealership since June 2, 2026, and has been unavailable for nearly two months. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Neither the dealership nor Stellantis has provided an estimated date for parts availability or repair completion. The timeline is UNKNOWN. The recall and engine replacement requirement were confirmed by the authorized dealership. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. Manufacturer inspection is UNKNOWN. I do not recall any warning lamps or messages before the power loss occurred. I continue to make monthly lease payments for a vehicle I cannot use. No loaner vehicle was provided. Stellantis offers rental reimbursement of up to $50 per day, but this does n
I own a 2024 Jeep with approximately 44,000 miles. The dealership diagnosed a failed engine motor mount and quoted approximately $1,200 for the repair. I am concerned because the motor mount failed at relatively low mileage without any accident, misuse, or other known cause. When I asked the dealership why it failed, I was told there was “no reason” and that “it just happens.” They were unable to provide any additional explanation. I also asked whether there were any Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) related to this issue and whether the repair should be covered under my remaining powertrain warranty. I was told the motor mount was not covered, but I was not given a clear explanation or shown the specific warranty exclusion. My concern is that a failed motor mount can allow excessive engine movement, which may affect vehicle operation, damage other components, or create a safety risk if it occurs while driving. I am submitting this complaint so the issue can be documented and investigated to determine whether this is a broader defect affecting similar vehicles.
I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2024 Jeep Wrangler due to serious and unresolved safety defects that render the vehicle unsafe for operation and present an immediate risk to public safety. One of the active safety recalls involves a condition in which the vehicle may suddenly lose power while driving. I have personally experienced this dangerous failure on three separate occasions while operating the vehicle. Each incident required me to return the Jeep to the dealership for repair. Despite three separate service visits and extended periods during which the dealership retained the vehicle, the recall has not been resolved and the underlying safety defect continues to persist. The risk of sudden power loss while driving creates an imminent and severe hazard, significantly increasing the likelihood of a crash that could result in serious injury or death to myself, my passengers, and other motorists. Despite repeated repair attempts, no permanent remedy has been provided. I have further been informed that no effective or final repair is currently available for this recall, leaving the vehicle in an unsafe and unresolved condition. Given the repeated failures and the ongoing inability to correct this defect, I consider this vehicle unsafe for operation on public roads. Immediate regulatory intervention is necessary to prevent potential harm. I respectfully urge the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to initiate a prompt investigation into this matter and t
While on the way to work going about 60 mph my car came to a complete stop with a semi behind me. By the grace of God I was able to start it in time. It happened atleast 9 other times since then. Jeep has been made aware and when I went for the recall I asked if that was a symptom they said no but this happens a lot. Didn’t put it on the report. I have kids and family members who have been in my car when it happens and refuses to get in. It just shuts down without warning and on the display shows P Instead of D flashing. I want to return this car and have been risking my life and my families life every single time I drive it.
My cat makes a strange loud noise when it starts up and begins driving. It also smells like smoke but none is seen. My daughter first noticed the smell and now ever since I got the engine recall done the sound is very loud and the smell of smoke persists. This is not normal or safe. The recalls being done are not fixing the problem and I would rather return a car that is not safe for my family! I cannot keep myself financially obligated to something that can kill myself or worse my children! Do something NOW!!!!
My vehicle has had issues since October of 2024, I bought it March 2024. The first problem that arose was the fuel door button wouldn’t work, the informant screen flickered, and engine light would come on and off all of this began after getting it serviced Oct 2024, I took back to the dealership 3 days later to get it diagnosed. The fuel tank isolation valve was the problem which caused the vehicle to not be able to be pumped, the gas would start spilling when attempted to pump, which left me stranded a few time. This was also causing the electrical flickering and shaking of the vehicle. They were able to fix the issue 3 months later after having the vehicle for a week, during those 3 months the vehicle was still shaking, the electrical components kept flickering or turning off, and it was difficult to pump gas. Last November the vehicle started shaking when I drove it, or stall in the middle of the road. My sensors would stay on for my mirrors even when no one was driving near me or just turn off. My informant screen would just show a black screen and wouldn’t turn on. My engine light turns on and off, so I took it in for the last two recalls to be fixed on June 3, 2026 (#78C 2023-2025 MY WL PHEV, 2024- 2025 JL PHEV 2.0L ESS E) & (#68C 2020-2025 JL & 2022-2026 WL PHEV HV BATTERY FIRES) and now the car hasn’t turned on since July 20, 2026. The dealership won’t send a tow although my car will not turn on because of the new software install they put in. I requested my service r

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
