The battery has a possibility of catching on fire, there is no known fix, and it is right below the back seat where a 2 and 4 year old sit. The car is unsafe to drive.
UNKNOWN. Jeep’s dashboard and the indicator by shift (Park) illuminates randomly while parked and drains the battery. After the latest event battery voltage tested to 4.4V. Jeep won’t even make a click sound when trying to start. This happened first week of new car delivery and three more times within past eight months. I spoke to the sales agent after first event and he said it will be noted. Second time dealer service replaces both main and auxiliary battery. A month later dealer service just recharged both batteries for the same issue. Now the jeep is having same issue and taken to the dealership for service. Engine light also came on after the latest event. The jeep is still at the service center for last 13 days. They informed me that both batteries are replaced and the error codes for engine light are P1AE2 and P1E75. I’m not aware of any other attempts to find the cause of the issue.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that after reversing out of a parking space and shifting the vehicle into drive, the vehicle suddenly accelerated on its own. As a result, the contact briefly lost control of the vehicle, which then glanced off the rear of another parked vehicle, coming to a complete stop after colliding with a concrete pillar. The contact also stated that while the vehicle was accelerating, he did make attempts to maneuver and slow the vehicle but the steering wheel and brake pedal both failed to respond. Both the driver and passenger side air bags were deployed. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who was unable to duplicate the failure and/or provide a diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. A police report was filed, and injuries were reported. Both the driver and his passenger were transported to an area hospital following the accident for treatment. The contact was treated for a broken left wrist and bruised ribs while the passenger was treated for 3 broken ribs and shoulder pain. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,025.

A recall with a vehicle that could start on fire is acceptable to drive, recall 95B-Jeep
The dealership states there are NO active recalls on the vehicle. I’ve taken it in multiple times for the same complaints but they always say they “cannot reproduce” the issue and brush me off. This vehicle seems to have something wrong with the transmission and is often jumpy during acceleration and often times struggles with the braking process. It almost seems like it’s getting a burst of acceleration that I have to fight against while braking. It has been quite scary at times. I have stopped charging the vehicle bc the charger gets incredibly hot near the handle, even when I use public chargers. One time the vehicle died while I was driving at approximately 55 miles per hour. The dealership stated it was bc I was “low on gas” and blew it off as user error.

Windshield has cracked multiple times (multiple windshields) in the center, bottom of the glass, spontaneously. Both event were in cold weather. There were no chips or impacts to the windshield.
On July 15th , July 30th and August 11th 2024 the gas pedal on my less than 2 month old Jeep Wrangler 4xE did respond / engage while driving and pressing on the pedal. It felt like the car was dying. This happened at three different speeds, 65mph on the highway, 30mph on a side road and around 40mph on a state road. In addition to the gas pedal not working/ vehicle not moving forward the vehicle also seemed to slow it self down, like i was breaking however i was not and as the vehicle slowed down it was shaking vigorously all 3 times. This is incredibly dangerous and unsafe. I contacted over 20 jeep dealerships and jeep corporate before I was able to get an appointment - this vehicle was looked at by a dealership and I have been told they 'have no codes' and 'everything is fine' In addition to the loss of power, gas failure, non responsive gas pedal I have counted over 10 incidences where this vehicle has a delay in acceleration of 3 - 8 seconds before lurching and jerking forward at various speeds, some of the times vehicle has also shaked other times the jerking is so severe if feels like you've been rear ended. Jeep is not taking these concerns seriously, I am reporting in hopes that you will and maybe others have reported similar issues and we can get some answers and repairs figured out as this car is unsafe and I do not want me or my children to be a statistic of a horrible accident that should have been a recall / fix issued by jeep.
Purchased 8/5/2024. Driving 45mph on 8/9/2024 -all warning lights began going on and off then Jeep just stopped leaving the D flashing and the message to press brake and push to start. Took a few moments to get it into Park. Restarted and took to dealer. They charged all batteries and returned 4 days later. 2 days later, Next incident, 25 mph shut down, almost hit from behind and had to deal with irate driver. Resumed after getting into park and switched to gas mode to drive to dealership. Picked up 6 days later and told no codes so no problem. 3 more incidents, remains at dealership service since 8/26/24.
Climate control does not function at all. Climate control controls were blinking and the following day nothing was working. No air conditioning or heat is present. Just says a message "climate off". No warning lamps are present. There should be at least a default to heat because people can freeze in the winter time.
While driving in all electric mode, car abruptly lost power and would not accelerate. After power loss, car lunged forward abruptly without noticeable cause. I worried I had been hit from behind and quickly checked the rearview mirror, but nothing had impacted the back of my Jeep. “D” symbol for “drive” on the shifter was flashing. Not sure what was happening on the instrument panel. I hurried and shut off the ignition and then restarted it and the vehicle started up again without issue. Jeep is currently at the dealer for inspection. There were no prior indications or warning lights on in the vehicle when this occurred. It could have been much more dangerous should I have been moving at a faster speed on the highway. I was fortunately moving in thick morning traffic and not on a highway when the loss of power occurred.
I was going 70 with my child in my car and The car seemed like it lost communication and I was on a highway with cars moving around me and almost hitting me . Car engine overheats after I’ve taken it to jeep several times.
This has now happened multiple times. The first time this happened, i was driving on the freeway and my car had started flashing lights telling me my electrical charging system was faulty. When this flashed, my "D" (for drive) on my dashboard started blinking and the car lost power. I was in the fast lane with no shoulder and had to pull 5 lanes over, nearly hitting an unquantifiable amount of cars. When the car reached roughly 15-10 miles per hour as I was merging, it put itself into park and would not let me shift back into gear. At this point I was still in the number 2 lane and had cars swerve around me. I tried turning on the car multiple times and finally after the fifth or sixth time, it turned on and drove to the shoulder. The dealership was unable to replicate the issue but had heard of the problem before. They said that they would try to diagnose the issue but they could not. The other times that it had happened, I had a very similar experience. Some situations safer than others. When i took it in again, they were unable to fix it. I've now given up because Jeep is unable to fix the issue.
Engine turns off completely in mid drive on highway. Unable to turn engine back on. Issue occurred on 7/31/24 after the vehicle was repaired and returned on the following Friday 08/09/24 engine turned off again in mid drive on the highway on 8/14/24. Me and my wife dodged a TWO near death experiences due to the engine failure occurring mid drive on the highway driving 70 mph during rush hour traffic. We barely had enough time to use the reserved power from the failed engine to move the vehicle immediately to the emergency lane. This vehicle has now turned into a safety hazard.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that 3 months after purchasing the vehicle, while driving approximately 25 MPH and making a left turn, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The instrument panel displayed a message to “Shift to Park” and then shift to the desired gear. The contact placed the vehicle in park and then back to drive to continue driving the vehicle. The vehicle had been taken to the dealer however, the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The failure then occurred an additional three times. The vehicle was returned to the dealer however, the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
I just purchased this car on Monday. While driving it Tuesday it completely shut off on me.
Loss of power pulling into traffic 6/6/24, nearly causing an accident, hybrid battery stopped working. CEL and service charging system light. Called dealer and not able to get service appointment until 6/26/24. Used vehicle unsafely until 6/26 without battery. Dropped off at dealer 6/26 and just received the vehicle with repair today, 7/24/24 28 days later.
2023 Jeep 4xe - Loss of Motive Power This is the 2nd time i have had Loss of Motive Power. Both time running Highway Speeds. 68MPH, Cruise set, (Speed Limit 70), 1,800RPM, 20 %Power. Vehicle just losses power. RPM Drops to 0 and % Power drops to 0. (Sorry not to clear on dashboard data as trying to safely get car out of heavy traffic and on side of road) Dash show something red on Plug in, Then1st that Vehicle is limit mode/limited speed, and 2nd, pull over when safely able. Then 3rd Shift to P then Desired Gear. Florida driving, 1st time in afternoon. sunny, outside Temp. was 86. 2nd time in morning, dusk, outside temp was 79.
Jeep just shut down while heading down interstate 81 about 70 mph in far 3fd left lane not much time to exit the highway had to sit on the left side of the highway and put in Park and restart it did start up after the complete shutdown
Loss of power while driving in Electric mode with sufficient battery charge left. This has happened multiple times at speeds greater than 55 MPH. No error codes were reported on the dash. Required the car to be put manually into hybrid mode for power to be restored.
When driving the jeep and the engine light comes on (this light comes on and off repeatedly but is mostly on). When the light is on you will have major issues when trying to accelerate regardless of the speed. if you push the gas to full acceleration the speed will drop down from 3-5 mph or completely drop to zero. If you leave your foot on the gas it will take 15-30 seconds for the engine to engage and provide power. It feels like its trying to look to the battery EV motor for power even though the battery is dead. in same cases the engine does not restart at all and i have had to pull over to the hard shoulder to pull off of live traffic. I have several videos showing the issue. i have been to the deal 4 times to have this reviewed and they keep telling me they can't find an issue regardless of the videos i have provided. at this time Jeep has taken my Vehicle and gave me a long term rental as they look into this issue more. My Videos are on my cell phone and i can't get them uploaded. I think i could compress the videos and e-mail them.
Apparent temporary loss of motive power
My husband was going 65mph on the highway in e-save mode with ~1% battery and 3/4 tank of gas. The “service charge system” error popped up with other red errors on the sides and the uconnect also posted an error. He described the incident as it felt like the transmission was failing. He coasted off the highway, thankfully safely, and put it in park. Then it died. He powered it back on and tried to put it back in e-save and it said e-save not available. He started driving again as he was making the journey to pick up our son from camp. An hour later, while back on the 3 lane highway, he experienced the exact same thing, this time having to pull off to the side of the interstate. At this point, he was not comfortable continuing the drive in this unreliable and unsafe car, and had it towed. Furthermore, we didn’t feel safe putting our kids in the back of a car that stops on you at high speeds. Fast forward to the next day, the dealer called and they told me nothing was wrong with the vehicle. I immediately called Jeep cares. 3 business days later, Jeep Cares called back and said they are not willing to buy back our vehicle but will have it towed 190 miles to a dealer that is closer to our house. This shows me that they are 100% aware of this issue but don’t want to lose their shirt on this car. I refuse to drive it now, especially with my kids. Hoping the dealership next to us is actually able to recreate the issue and figure out next steps.
I HAVE A 2023 JEEP WRANGLER 4X3, IT HAS BEEN THE SAME SINCE MARCH 28, 2023 AT THE ALBERIC CHRISLER DEALER IN SAN JUAN PUERTO RICO. IT HAS PROBLEMS WITH CHARGING AND IT DOESN'T WANT TO CHARGE. THEY CHANGED A MODULE AND IT DOESN'T CHARGE. AS THE 23V787000 CAMPAIGN HAS NOT BEEN NOTIFIED TO PUERTO RICO, THE DEALER HAS NOT TAKEN ANY ACTION. I UNDERSTAND THAT THEY COULD DELIVE IT TO ME AND AN ACCIDENT COULD OCCUR.
The 2023 jeep wrangler 4ex shutdown on highway at speed 75 mile/h!!!!! And cannot restart, gear only in P position. Only towing
On three separate occasions, the vehicle I own has suffered from a complete loss of power during operation. The initial incident (09/02/2023) occurred shortly after merging onto the westbound lane of Highway 71. Without warning, the vehicle ceased to function, coming to an immediate and forceful stop that nearly resulted in a collision with other vehicles traveling at approximately 60 MPH. The vehicle was rendered immobile, with the wheels locked as if in gear, necessitating its removal via a flatbed tow truck. The dealership was unable to restore the vehicle’s functionality and ultimately replaced the Electronic Control Module (ECM). The second incident (03/08/24) involved a similar sudden loss of power while traveling on Highway 1. This failure resulted in a total loss of power, including both power-assisted brakes and steering, eliminating my ability to signal to other drivers as the vehicle drifted. I was forced to maneuver across three lanes of traffic to reach the safety of the roadside. After several attempts, the vehicle eventually restarted. The most recent occurrence (05/13/2024) mirrored the previous incidents, with the vehicle losing all power and leaving me stranded on the side of Highway 71. Given these repeated and unpredictable malfunctions, which pose a severe risk to safety and severely hinder the normal operation of the vehicle, I am no longer willing to allow my son to drive this vehicle. I firmly believe these issues constitute a significant and life-thre
While slow braking and pulling into a parking space, the jeep jerked , lunged forward and proceeded to go through the storefront glass and inside the building! 3 people were injured. The engineer was unable to pull data from the EDR due to the speed and no airbags deployed. The jeep is currently at the collision center and they are searching for a mechanic to go over it. Seems difficult to find anyone qualified to do so. I am 100% sure the jeep malfunctioned and accelerated forward. I have read of similar incidents on your site. I will never drive it again as I know it is unsafe!! I would appreciate any help you or anyone else can give me. I am currently working with my insurance company on the claims. I also hired a forensic investigator.
When operating the vehicle about ~50mph, and if you drive over a pothole, or bump in the road, the frontend of the vehicle wobble/vibrate uncontrollably. The only solution (I have found) is to lower the speed (which is obviously a problem on the freeway). I purchased the vehicle new from the dealer, have not made any modifications, and they (the dealer) is telling me the tires are the source of the "death wobble" problem. I have spoken to other Jeep owners that have had the same issue and it had nothing to do with the tires. The solution from the dealers perspective is "replace all four tires" (they claim its the Firestone brand of tires) at my expense.
While driving the vehicle it will suddenly shut down the engine. Then the letter "D" starts to blink on the gear shift lever. I am able to restart the car by turning it off, waiting for 5 minutest and then restart the car. I turned in the car 3 weeks ago and they still do not know what the problem is.
Driving down a street when the Jeep shut down all propulsion systems and sent an error code that the charging system would not work. We moved safely to the side of the road, restarted the Jeep, and drove home with no error lights. The next day, the Jeep threw error codes again upon startup. We took to the dealer who is analyzing.
Passenger side rear quarter window of soft top blew off while traveling on highway. Top was properly secured prior traveling with vehicle.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving 50 MPH in the rain with the defroster activated, there was an abnormal popping sound detected, and the front windshield cracked without warning or impact. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000.
While driving on highway/freeway at approx 70 mph 2023 Jeep wrangler 4xe suddenly lost power/engine shut down. I coasted safely and pulled over from the fast lane to the right lane of the freeway to the shoulder. Vehicle was able to be restarted and able to be driven. Now at the dealership.
I was driving my 2023 Jeep Wrangler 2 Door Willys on a 4 lane divided road approaching a stop light. The stoplight was red so I started slowing down approximately 200 feet from the intersection. I applied the brake pedal and the vehicle started to slow down. As I was approaching the intersection I could feel the vehicle accelerating and it was difficult to get it to stop. I was almost stopped approximately 3 - 5 feet from the vehicle in front of me, when the jeep lunged forward and struck the vehicle in front of me. The jeep continued to accelerate and was trying to push the vehicle in front of me. I shoved the gear shift into Park and that stopped the acceleration. I never took my foot off of the brake pedal during the entire incident. The force of the acceleration lifted the front of my vehicle and my bumper went on top of the other vehicle's bumper and dented the rear hatch of the other vehicle. There were no indicator lights before or after the incident. I drove the vehicle to my home approximately a mile from the accident without issues. I later had the vehicle towed to the CDJR dealer for inspection. After 3 weeks in the Service center, they did not find any issues and could not reproduce the problem and the vehicle was released back to me.
Check Engine on. Battery don’t charge. Dealer don’t have diagnostic to the battery problem.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the contact was veering to the right when the steering wheel failed to respond as needed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to the dealer and the contact was informed that the vehicle needed a stabilizer however, the part was on backorder. The contact also stated that the steering wheel was shaking when the vehicle was first purchased new and that the vehicle was taken to the dealer at least five times prior to the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the part would be sent sooner. The approximate failure mileage was 14,217.
The gauge cluster freezes from time to time. And it is scary while driving.
Driving on interstate @ 65 mph, in very heavy traffic, experienced death wobble after going over a road seam bump, making it hard to control the vehicle. Slowed down to 50 and it stopped. I was terrified I was going to crash. It happened several more times during the same trip, whenever over 55 mph. Brought to dealer on 11/27/2023. Dealer says Stellantis is aware of the issue -- and has been sued for it in the past -- but it's been 4 months and Stellantis has not yet provided the replacement part. This is a brand new vehicle with about 4,000 miles on it, and the death wobble continues to occur whenever over 55 mph. Infuriating that Stellantis is aware of this issue yet is still installing malfunctioning parts.
Starting in late February 2024, my new vehicle has had numerous major oil leaks which have not been able to be repaired successfully. Oil has leaked out and pooled on the drivers side of the transmission bell house. Given the oil leaks proximity to the heat from the turbo charger down pipe, exhaust pipe, and various other ignition sources, the vehicle is at an elevated risk for catching on fire. This could result in a accident or serious bodily injury up to death of myself or others. I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle. Given the volume of oil leaking from the undercarriage of the vehicle, the vehicle is at an elevated risk for engine seizure from lack of lubrication. This could result in the engine stalling causing an accident or serious bodily injury up to death of myself or others. I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle. The vehicle has been repaired three separate times by the dealership, no warning lights ever appeared.
At speeds between 55-65 MPH, inconsistently the car will shake so violently I have to nearly stop the car to make cease shaking. The vehicle shakes so badly other drivers slow down to avoid being around. It feels as though it’s going to fall apart. I’ve taken the car 4 times now for repair and the dealership has had the car for 32 consecutive days with no solution.
Brand new jeep has been at the dealership for 11weeks to have electrical issues and radio issues fixed. As of today, it still has not been fixed but the dealership wants to release it back to me until a special group of engineers/IT come up with a remedy. The vehicle has never ran properly.
When driving the vehicle at 60mph or faster, the steering wheel will begin to shake uncontrollably and continue to rattle for approximately 30 seconds until the vehicle is reduced speed to about 40mph or less. If I resume speed again, the shaking vibrations will continue to happen repeatedly. This puts my safety at risk when I attempt to drive on the freeway and approach the speed limit and causes me to reduce my speed to an unsafe speed far lower than the flow of traffic on the freeway. In addition, while the vehicle is vibrating/shaking, there is a lack of control of the vehicle and puts the driver in a panic state, because it feels like a flat/blown tire at such a high speed. The vehicle was taken into the dealership and they would not check the problem until I paid for an alignment maintenance fee of over $300. Therefore, I proceeded with the costs and they discovered some parts that need to be replaced by the factory. In spite of this, the dealership is holding me responsible for the process of elimination charges because the extended warranty XF1 and recall V41 are not attached to my VIN on this vehicle. However, these recalls are attached to vehicles made on or before November 2020 and my vehicle was built November 2022. I am aware of this issue, because my prior jeep wrangler vehicle was a 2019 and I experienced the same safety issues, and I brought it in and found out about the recall issued and it was repaired for my safety. However, the same safety issues are occur
Steering wobble, dealer gives us the run around, finally gives us 18 weeks lead time for new steering vibration dampener, car shakes on highways and is not save to drive, dealing with Jeep is unacceptable
While driving on the freeway, the car showed a message saying “performance issue” and lost power. I couldn’t accelerate and the car stopped. I couldn’t power on or down the car. It looked like an alternator issue and it wasn’t giving enough power to the battery. AAA arrived hour and half later. Tried to jump but it didn’t do anything. Finally had to tow the car to the nearest dealership. The car is not even a year old and has less than 10k miles. Its a safety issue being stuck like that without any warning signs at middle of the freeway!
Vehicle continues to shut down while driving. Has happened over 10 times and have brought it in several times. Shuts down while driving at hiway speed. Have to get it stopped and then all the electrical goes haywire flashing. Eventually shutdown the truck and wait and restart. After 15 min or so able to get it to power up and drive again. Will do it again and again. Very dangerous. After about an hour the engine lights and everything goes away as if nothing happened. I also have video of the dashboard from one of the times it did it.
My 2023 Jeep Wrangler is experiencing the "Death Wobble" while driving down the highway or on uneven paved roads. During the "Death Wobble", the steering wheel starts shaking uncontrollably. I have to decelerated to regained control of the vehicle, at which point the shaking of the steering wheel stops. This has become a persistent failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed as having defective tires from Bridgestone. The dealership is requesting the consumer buy new tires to remediated the death wobble and defective tires from Bridgestone.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
