My 2023 Jeep 4XE shut down in the middle of the highway in Arizona while traveling at 65 mph. The dashboard displayed an error message: “Service Charging System.” Shortly after, the vehicle experienced a total loss of power, and the screen instructed, “Put in park to start vehicle,” with a flashing “D” on the gear indicator. This has happed before in a 2022 that we traded in because we didn't feel safe driving. We have a service appointment 8/7/24 at Larry H miller Jeep in Avondale AZ.
Water pump fail
I have received at least three 19A recall notices for my vehicle. Each time I call the dealer to schedule an appointment they tell me they have to order the part, they will call when it is in and that they are only allowed to order a certain number of parts each week. Still waiting on that call back! Yesterday when I called and was given the same "we'll order and call you", and "no I don't see anything previously ordered for you", the service clerk also told me that the 19A recall was not a big deal, not a safety issue and I didn't need to be concerned. Seriously? I don't know what else to do. I am afraid to drive this vehicle that I spent a ridiculous amount of money for. Someone should be holding Stellantis accountable. Jeep was parked. Charging. Neighbors ran over to tell us they saw it smoking. Electric battery ignited. Jeep caught on fire. Took 3 hours to get jeep cooled enough to tow it away. Electric battery was still at 180° when towed.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power, with the rear axle warning light illuminated. The vehicle was able to be restarted; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was diagnosed with rear axle failure. The contact was informed that the rear axle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 17,000.
E-torque battery issue. My e-torque battery was having issues for 20k miles that caused a “stored” code to appear saying the e-torque had a fault. I started bringing in the wrangler at 35,500 miles still under bumper to bumper warranty but because it was a stored code there was no repair order issued. This continued until around 50k miles when the jeep started shutting off at low speeds. The dealer took it in and Jeep Corporate stated that because it was still a stored code they would not release the battery pack needed for the repair. The dealer fought the warranty department for 3 weeks holding on to my vehicle. They eventually returned the car to me un-repaired per Jeep Corp instruction. The check engine light came on days after it was returned to me. No repair but documented at dealer. 12 days after the car was repaired it died again rolling to a stop light and then again in the same trip. The second time, it died in rush hour traffic, with a semi truck behind me. Thankfully I was traveling at about 20 miles an hour and the semi had several car lengths behind me because it shut off as though it was so dead it was sitting in my driveway. It did start back up when I placed it in park. I drove it to the dealer where they kept it for 2 more months fighting warranty to release the battery pack. I went through five jeep cares case managers and had multiple “star cases” that were opened and closed without the dealership being made aware at times that they were closed. They final
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving approximately 80 MPH, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power and started to decelerate. During the failure, the "Hybrid System" message was displayed. After parking and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was later driven to the local dealer. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not contacted regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 10,500.
Turnpike driving, approximate speed 70 mph. Hit a patched/bump in road. Experienced severe vibrations and wobbling in front end. Had to pull off onto shoulder to slow and stop vibrations. Then was able to resume normal driving. This was second experience of this kind in approximately 5 months.
The loss of power battery pack issue its been already 4 weeks in the shop
05/03/2024: while driving my 2022 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe the vehicle unexpectedly had a complete loss of power resulting in my Jeep shutting down without warning. The warning light “service hybrid electrical system” illuminated after the I attempted to restart it. My Jeep would not restart or engage out of park. The vehicle was towed to the dealership where it remains in the same exact spot with no repair or identified problem. FCA/Stellantis is aware as I have an open case with Jeep Cares who really don’t seem to care. This complete loss of power could have resulted in a severe accident putting myself, passengers, and other drivers on the road at risk as there was no prior warning.
Vehicle has had multiple instances of lurching forward and/or not even moving when gas pedal is pressed. Several of these instances have occurred when coming to a stop or when trying to start from a stop. When the brake would be pressed the vehicle would jump forward. In one very memorable occurrence I was at a 4 way intersection coming to a stop and the vehicle lurched forward into the intersection almost hitting another vehicle. It also has issues when pressing the gas, you will give is gas and it won’t go anywhere and then all of a sudden lurch forward. We have several instances of a hard transmission shift where the vechile will “buck” and jar you into your seat. Vehicle has been to 3 dealerships, all state nothing is wrong, no codes were thrown.
UNKNOWN. This recall has been on my vehicle for approximately a year and a half, with no fix. I have not parked my vehicle in my garage due to fear of the pressure plate in the clutch catching on fire.
My 2022 4xe has been in the shop a total of 10 months due to engine shut down, (slamming to a stop while driving along w/ auto park engaging). All of this started after having the 22V865 recall preformed in 2023. The dealership has yet to figure out the remedy, despite popping multiple codes. This is a SERIOUS SAFETY issue that could ultimate kill someone, if Stellantis continues to turn a blind eye. The dealership released my Jeep unfixed, I am now looking for another dealership who may have an idea how to correct the problems.
We ordered in April 2022, a 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Sahara plug-in hybrid, arriving late May 2022. In mid-June 2024, when starting the Jeep, it went into "limp" or "safe" mode. The Samsung EV battery was fully charged, indicating a 99% charge available, which translates to an approximate 24 mile range on the EV motor. The check engine light (CEL) came on as well as a "charging system failure" message came on in the center of the message center. The Jeep dealership in Temecula, CA, received the Jeep, which would only operate on the Internal Combustion Engine, and even then at 50% of available power, with the a/c system non-operable. The Internal Combustion Engine would not respond to throttle input, where it would not start (from engine off mode) more than a dozen times while en route to the Jeep dealership. It was unsafe being at the front of a long-line of cars when a light turned green and then applying the throttle, nothing happened, where we very nearly got rear-ended on multiple occasions. The DCH Temecula dealership who is servicing the Jeep advises the Samsung EV battery had an internal failure and requires replacement. The Samsung EV battery is on order or in transit/shipping, has not arrived. We have been without the Jeep approaching a month. In addition to our concern for this happening to others, we are really concerned about this being a recurring issue and problem.

There is a recall on my vehicle that relates to a safety issue with the clutch overheating and causing a fire. It has been over a year and the dealership where I purchased the vehicle has no remedy, and none planned. I have called and checked several times with the same answer. The following is an excerpt of the original email I sent dealer on [XXX] one day after I purchased the vehicle: I spoke to **** yesterday and made him aware the transmission on my new/used Jeep Wrangler I just bought failed. I left your facility in the Bronx at 1:40 PM yesterday and was on the side of the [XXX] at approximately 3:30 PM in Dix Hills [XXX]. **** spoke to your Manager **** and recommended that I have it towed to the closest Jeep dealer. The Jeep is now at the Huntington Jeep service center in Commack at 5080 Jericho Turnpike. After waiting for a tow for almost two hours we arrived at Huntington Jeep. The service shop was closed for the day and I am without a car and have no loaner car. I expect Riverdale to have a loaner car in my driveway tomorrow morning. Attached is also the receipt from the tow I need to be reimbursed on. See also pictures of Jeep on flatbed tow truck. The fact of the matter is that I asked about the open clutch recall and was assured that your maintenance team went through the Jeep and took care of any open items. This was not true, as per the attached open recall I just found on the Mopar recall site. It clearly says this VIN# Jeep was not addressed and the exact description in the recall is what happened to me. The Jeep indeed smelled like it was going to go on fire. The fact that you guys sent me on my way with what could have been a very dangerous situation because you neglected to disclose the correct information on the recall. I could
I was slowly pulling into a parking spot and slowly removed my foot from the break with the jeep catapulted forward nearly hitting the car parked alongside. Had to hit the brakes so hard, tires screeched. It happened again several more times while slowing down or stopped at intersections. Have had to hit the brakes with both feet almost standing on brake. No warning or notifications. It feels almost as if accelerator has more power than brake.
A vehicle cross my path required full application of braking, locking all 4 wheels. During this event, the automatic ignition shutoff (AIS) was enabled. As a result of AIS and the lack of ABS, and, hence a 4 wheel lock-up, the AIS shutoff the engine, causing loss of power steering and power brakes. The resulting vehicle behavior required immediate and severe steering wheel correction with substantial additional force to prevent a collision with the vehicle in my path. Had I not previously had driver safety training as well as significant high performace driving experience I likley would have collided with the other vehicle. My assertion is the combination of AIS and the lack of ABS resulting in 4 wheel lock may had led to a collision resulting in sever injury to the other driver.
This vehicle continues to have "Death Wobble" (violent shaking of stearing & suspension) when driving at or above 55 mph speeds. The current odometer mileage of vehicle is approximately 23,500 miles. The problem first occurred at around 9,000 miles at highway speeds. The dealer was promptly contacted and a replacement steering dampener was installed. The problem has returned at even lower speeds under any number of normal driving conditions. Problem occurs when tires cross any road boundary, road inconsistencies, or pavement changes at speed 55+ mph. The immediate sensation that stearing is failing or falling apart is only mitigated by immediate deceleration. This is extremely unsafe when attempting to maintain flow of traffic speeds on freeways or other roads. Stellantis, FCA, Jeep, etc. Has attempted to band-aid this problem by providing steering dampener replacement when harmonic vibration amplification is the main problem, based on various inerworkings of the deficient suspension & steering components on newer vehicles. This Jeep has not been modified in any way from factory settings and configurations. Work has ONLY been performed on the vehicle by certified jeep technicians.

My jeep lost power on the freeway while in Hybrid mode. Warning signs turned on for me to park the vehicle but I was on the freeway. The jeep would not switch to gas mode. My safety was at risk as I had to coast my jeep with no power to a safe location to park. I crossed 3 lanes of traffic. The only way to fix the problem is to put my vehicle in park and then turn off my jeep and restart it. The warning light that turned on but I can’t recall which one. It was very fast and scary. I plan to take it to the dealer ship to check for recalls.
My vehicle has a recall for the High pressure fuel pump. While driving the engine light and cruise control light will turn automatically and then go away consecutively. Yes, the issue has been confirmed and inspected by the manufacturer and the dealership in which I purchased my vehicle. The vehicle will stall when running or randomly turn off and smell like smoke. I have made 3 appointments in which the dealership will advise me to drop my vehicle off and once I arrive they tell me they do not have the parts. I called the manufacturer and they advised they receive the parts every 7 days. I have contacted the dealership and I will not get a response. I'm scared for my safety and others. The contact stated she would appreciate a response and assistance with a recall for the vehicle.
Bought on 3/16 and going home it started wobbling at 60 after hitting a small crack in road. 3/20/24 I was traveling at 70 mph passing a car when I went over cracks on the high way when the death wobble started and would not stop until I was under 50 mph. Appointment with the Jeep Dealer on 3/27/24.
Excessive play in steering due to OE tie rods ends manufactured with excessive play. I have complained on two occasions that the vehicle has excessive bump steer causing it to be difficult to handle at higher speeds on uneven surfaces. At times sharply darting towards oncoming traffic on some two lane roads. My dealer says there is nothing wrong but the service adviser admits there are many complaints of to much play in the steering by owners of this type of vehicle. As a technician myself I believe there is an issue here that is not being addressed. There are aftermarket parts available to fix the problem but there is no OE fix for warranty. That being said there is a problem that the Manufacturer needs to address. My vehicle had 13,000 miles on it and I first complained at 8,000 miles.

I purchased certified July of 2023 . My 2022 Sarah 4xe Jeep has been in the dealership 4 times for the so called death rattle on the freeway at highway speeds of 70-73 mph . When hitting bump it will wobble horribly to the point I have to slam the breaks on to get it to stop . The dealer the last time put on an aftermarket fox damper which helped quite a bit but it still will do it briefly . From what I’ve researched it is only a band aid to whatever the problem is . It’s to me,very dangerous especially when you’re next to a vehicle on the highway . I don’t feel the problem is completely fixed and the dealer said they have done all they can do. I cannot give specific days off hand but will look up moving forward because it’s been at the dealership now 4 times . Ive read that many customers are having this issue . If you need a video I can send one .
The detective reported that the 2022 Jeep Wrangler spontaneously caught on fire. The contact stated that after the owner parked the vehicle, approximately six hours later a fire occurred which started in the engine compartment of the vehicle. The fire department was called to the scene and extinguished the flames. During the incident the vehicle was destroyed. No injuries were reported. A police and fire report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was later tow away. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified by the contact. Had to go in to repair a coolant leak, power train issue with the driveshaft and suspension.
Burning clutch smell….recall is over a year old…dealer say parts not available 👺 how long can a recall go for…they should inform owners of the time frame…so should I continue too drive my $50,000 dollar jeep .. which may burst into flames 🔥 or not
When starting from a complete stop with the car in drive (usually from a stop light/sign), the dash will go completely black and come back online with initial guidance to place the car in park before starting the engine followed by "Service Transmission". Once put into park, it cannot be released into neutral to move out of danger - it's truly stuck. Based on 4XE forums, this is not a unique problem. When completely shut off and restarted, it behaves as normal. This has happened twice on the same vehicle and no error code is generated for service.

The vehicle was repaired; however, the vehicle failed the emissions test. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who was unable to determine a failure, but informed the contact that it might be related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V767000 (Fuel System, Gasoline, Engine) and advised the contact to drive the vehicle for 700 miles before returning. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V767000 (Fuel System, Gasoline, Engine) and the VIN was included, and parts were ordered. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 20,000.
Jeep TSB S2008000158 This service bulletin is exactly that happened to my jeep but because it is a 2022 jeep that will not honor the service bulletin. This has happened to me twice, once in my garage and another time driving and the jeep just stopped in the middle of the street. Both times have been taken into the Jeep dealership.

I am writing to express my serious concern regarding the safety recall initiated by FCA US for the Jeep Wrangler 4xe. This recall, which pertains to an internally failed HV battery, poses a significant safety risk to vehicle occupants, bystanders, and property. As stated in the summary provided by FCA US, an internally failed HV battery in the affected vehicles could lead to a vehicle fire, regardless of whether the ignition is on or off. This presents an alarming safety hazard, as a vehicle fire not only increases the risk of occupant injury but also poses a threat to individuals outside the vehicle and can result in substantial property damage. While it is commendable that FCA US has initiated a voluntary safety recall to address this issue, the proposed remedy raises several concerns. The instruction for customers to refrain from recharging these vehicles and to avoid parking them inside buildings or structures, or near other vehicles until the final repair is completed, is deeply troubling. This instruction places an undue burden on affected vehicle owners, as it significantly disrupts their daily routines and raises questions about the practicality and feasibility of implementing such precautions. Furthermore, it fails to provide a comprehensive solution to mitigate the risk of vehicle fires effectively. Moreover, the solution is completely ineffective as it puts the liability back on the customer since FCA will not deem the vehicle inoperable. This refusal to acknowledg
I was stopped at a red light with my foot on the brake, and had been for at least 30 seconds. The jeep all the sudden revved and started moving forward. I continued to push on the brake but the jeep didn't stop. I attempted to turn the jeep to the right to avoid the car in front of me, but was unable and slammed into the back of the car. Despite my foot being on the brake the jeep continued to rev even after I hit the car. I put the jeep in park and it stopped revving. A police report was filed. There was damage caused to the car in front of me. The jeep has not been able to be taken to the dealership yet for inspection.
The car starts to shudder after driving over a gap in the road or bumpy pavement. Usually at around 50-60mph. Had two episodes that were minor and then a week later on the same drive two more episodes with much more intense vibrations. Had to quickly reduce speed to stop the resonance and vibration in each case. Will be checking for loose parts below the vehicle, which has about 8500 miles on it.
Engine speed became limited while driving and abruptly slowed down to 10 MPH while driving on the streets almost causing an incident for myself and others. Once car was stopped loud noises would come from Hybrid cooling system as if it was overheating upon start up. Dealer confirmed inspection and fixed hybrid cooling system which was covered under warranty. 3 weeks later after fix, vehicle engine light came on again and car had to be in service for another warranty issue connected to the fuel line. No warning lights, messages or symptoms of problems before incident happened. My family and I are terrified from the first incident and the 2nd engine light coming on only a few weeks later has confirmed our concerns that jeep has made a faulty product and these vehicles should be recalled.
With this recall and no repair, I no longer feel safe driving my Jeep and being that the recall notice states not to park near other vehicles or buildings/structures is another safety concern. It lunges upon first driving as well.
It’s a recall on 6 speed manual transmission.a few times I smell the burning clutch smell..the recall says the jeep can catch fire..it’s been almost a year since I got the notice and still no repair .. am I suppose to risk my jeep catching on fire?
When a snow event happens, especially wet snow the factory LED headlights and fog lights get completely covered in snow and are useless. They produce no heat to melt the snow. This is dangerous at night.
Rear defrost connector comes unsoldered. My car is a 2022 with less than 12,000 miles on it. I basically drive it during the summer months when going to the lake. I bought the car brand new as a special order and received it in march 2022. I went to use my rear defrost, for probably the first time since owning my car, and it wouldn’t work. I took it to the dealer to have the defrost fixed- but now I’m being told it’s not covered, as windows are only covered for 12 months or 12,000 miles. It’s not my window- it’s the defrost! From a simple online search I can see that MANY people are experiencing this SAME issue! A car that is less than 2 years old and has about 11,500 miles on it, should t have an issue with defrost working!

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
