The vehicle experienced multiple serious fuel system failures, including a failed fuel injector and high-pressure fuel pump. After these components were replaced, it was confirmed that fuel was still entering the engine crankcase. At no point did the vehicle trigger a “Check Engine” light, oil dilution warning, low oil pressure alert, or any hybrid/electric powertrain. This represents a critical safety & reliability issue. Fuel dilution of engine oil can: severely degrade lubrication, increase crankcase pressure, and/or lead to internal engine failure or fire The lack of any warning or diagnostic code suggests either: a software calibration issue in the ECM/BCM that failed to detect the problem, a sensor failure, and/or a defect in the onboard diagnostic system itself. This could indicate a broader defect affecting the safety of the 4xe platform and request investigation. This failure delayed necessary service and put both vehicle and occupants at risk.

DEATH WOBBLE. While driving at freeway speeds hitting a road bump my Jeep went into a severe uncontrollable shaking wherein the entire car was moving sideways and in an up and down motion. i did some research online and found this condition to be a common Jeep Wrangler problem. i brought the car to the dealer and they said it is a known problem with the steering damper. In my research online, many believe the problem is the tie rod, drag link and ball joints are the cause and the steering damper just masks the symptoms until it wears out. i had a third party off road repair shop look at the suspension parts and they noted the drag link had play within the bushings and recommended it be replaced. Upon not visit to the dealer, i asked them to check it out and they said everything was fine except the steering damper was bad. I had the replace the steering damper. I am still getting a shaking vibration at freeway speeds while hitting a bump in the road. it is not as severe but it definitely shakes the steering wheel and the vehicle enough to be concerned that something is wrong with the suspension. If you search DEATH WOBBLE you will find the exact condition i am experiencing. Jeep says everything is okay with the vehicle and yet I am still experiencing a vibration. my warranty expires 5/29/25. thank you [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The IPC short circuited and has not been functioning since November of 2024. There is no gas gauge, fuel gauge or way to see any check engine lights. There is an active recall for jeeps 2018-2024 under NHTSA recall number 24V-652. No accidents or anything to cause this panel to be blank. Drove it the night before, parked and when I started it the following morning the entire panel was black.
The car started to shake uncontrollably at highway speed without warning. Steering was very difficult. It was difficult to even see out of the vehicle due to extreme shaking. The car is going to the dealer to be examined. This is a low mileage daily driver, completely stock, with no modifications.
I was almost killed when my Jeep did the death wobble at 70 mph on the freeway. It violently shook out of control while I was in the fast lane of the freeway without warning. I had no control over the steering wheel, and it was pulling me towards the freeway wall. Slowing the car down was very difficult because it was jerking around so violently. I got off the freeway very slowly with my hazards on. A pickup truck followed me off the freeway to make sure I was ok. He said the tires were going crazy, and everybody saw it. It was an 18 wheeler next to me, and I could have died. I only have abt 30,000 miles. Now I’m selling it, because I’m terrified. I live in Michigan, if there was snow or ice it definitely would have been tragic. It’s in the shop under warranty, but jeep dealership telegraph rd in Southfield said something was bent and it was my fault why it went out of control. But whatever is bent, got bent from the violent shaking. I didn’t even hit anything. This happened on Thursday on the way to work, when I first got on the freeway it shook a little, and I was getting ready to pull over, then it stopped. 5 mins later that’s when the death wobble occurred. I took it to Jeep around a year ago when it was shaking. They said it didn’t do it, and nothing was wrong.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while stopped at a traffic light, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle hesitated and failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer who diagnosed that a transmission cable needed to be replaced. The transmission cable was replaced; however, the failure became progressively worse. The vehicle was taken several times to the dealer however, no cause for the failure was found. The contact stated that several unknown parts were replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 600.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving on the highway at 65 MPH and driving over a pothole, the vehicle started violent shake and the steering wheel seized. The contact pulled over, came to a complete stop and was able to continue driving. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed and the contact was informed that the shocks were leaking hydraulic fluid, and the steering damper was faulty. The contact was informed that the shocks needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 23,500.
Was driving to work and the car failed to let me know I was going to hit something and I swerved into another lane creating a crash into a telephone pole and then into a pond/swamp area. The airbags did not deploy and I was going about 40 mph I suffered neck back and bruises to my arms. I am suffering servers neck pain. The car filled with water. The car did say it detected a crash but no air bags deployed after the telephone being straight in the middle. The car was totaled. Nothing appeared. No warning signs. I believe the car has been taken to salvage. If I had the air bags go off I would not have been hurt as bad with my neck back and arm pain. It was thrown violently
I received a safety warning about my air bags specifically via my Jeep app on my iPhone about 1 1/2 hours after I had been rear-ended in a motor vehicle accident. The rear-end impact pushed me into a van in front of me. The safety notice notified me to take my 2022 Jeep in to have the air bags checked. There were no prior warnings. I am concerned as to whether or not the air bags should have employed upon impact. My seatbelt did totally lock into place after impact, but the air bags did not activate. My vehicle is currently still being repaired at a collision service, per the direction of my auto insurance carrier.
See attached document for complaint. Excerpt from attachment: I received a letter from the FCA FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOBILES an according to the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety act that letter stated: "FCA US LLC had decided that certain 2022 Jeep Wrangler vehicle equipped with a 3.5" Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) failed to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVS) No.101-Controls and displays" Safety recall 30B/NHTSA 24V -652 February 2025 I called the FCA Recall Assistance center at 1-800-853-1403. The agent told me the part was available. So, I made an appointment through them and to brought my Jeep into the San Diego Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram San Diego, CA, but about an hour later I received a phone call the "mechanics" said that they did not have the part(s) for this issue to be repaired. We went back to retrieve my 2022 Jeep Wrangler Sport Sand was told that they could keep the car due to needing the latest mileage on my Jeep, before they even could order the parts or whatever to fix it. Note my instrumental panel seem to be working fine. But According to that Jeep "mechanic" it still had to be replaced. I can't afford to leave my Jeep there waiting for some part(s) to be ordered. The mechanics can't say when the parts would be available for the repair to be done. It could be a week, it could be a month, it could be a year, they can't say. But they never told me if they are ordering any parts without keeping my Jeep there gathering dust waiting for so
The instrument cluster is not working. On March 25 2025 during driving the cluster started to malfunction by turning on and off and then few seconds later it was off. Once the cluster is off there is no visual assessment of how fast the car is moving, any alarms, temperature, fuel gauge, non of the gauges work. Took car to an electrical car repair shop since this is a safety issue and they found that there was a cluster recall on 2022 wrangler sport jeeps so no repairs was done to the car. The dealer was called and under the VIN inquiry I was informed that there was no instrument cluster recall. My question is since there is evidence in several www literature of Jeep Wrangler recalls due to instrument cluster why then our instrument cluster not part of a recall
Vehicle Make/Model/Year: 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Component Affected: Steering / Suspension or wheels not sure Mileage at First Incident: 30000 approx Odometer Now: 33150 approx Complaint Summary: My 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe has experienced repeated incidents of "death wobble" and uncontrolable shake , where the steering wheel shakes violently and the vehicle becomes difficult to control. Both my husband and I have experienced this issue multiple times, often after hitting small bumps or uneven pavement also in the highway when at speeds over 60 mph. We have taken the vehicle to the dealership twice, ( this is after "fixing this issue twice supposely) explained the issue in detail, and requested a thorough inspection. Despite this, the vehicle was returned to us both times with no resolution, and the dealership stated they could not recreate the issue. We later confirmed with Jeep Customer Care that the service center did not open a STAR case as requested, and the original case was closed without resolution. This issue is intermittent, which is well-known with death wobble cases, yet no action has been taken to investigate or repair the root cause. This raises serious concerns about driver and passenger safety. The issue is ongoing, and we have now had to reopen the case with Jeep and escalate the matter ourselves. We have also discovered inconsistencies with other service claims. For example, the dealership claimed the battery was replaced during a previous visit, yet the physic

At highway speeds my vehicle surges fairly violently, creating a safety hazard and limiting movement in traffic. Talk to the JEEP corporate office and they said there’s a number of technical service bulletins on this issue, but there’s not been enough to calls a recall, but they did state. It was a known issue. This is very dangerous..
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the Death Wobble while driving on two occasions. The contact also stated that the vehicle was difficult to start and would start after being jump-started. Additionally, the contact stated that there was an abnormal burning plastic odor coming from the clutch intermittently while driving and shifting into gear. The contact stated that while driving 40-45 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The message "Stop Safely - Vehicle will shut down in 30 Seconds" was displayed. The contact stated that while attempting to pull over to the side of the road, the vehicle hit the guard rail on the side of the road and bounced back, causing the rear end of the vehicle to land on the right lane of the highway while the front end was on the side of the road. The contact was able to push the entire vehicle to the side of the road with the assistance of other drivers. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and assisted the contact in towing the vehicle to a parking lot. The vehicle was jump-started; however, the failure recurred while the contact was driving the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the battery and the auxiliary fuse were replaced; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The dealer then informed the contact that the vehicle had been repaired. The contact then inquired that the dealer perform the recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V116000 (Power Train); however, the dealer i
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Hybrid. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V720000 (Electrical System); however, the contact was advised that the repairs were not sufficient to fix the vehicle. The vehicle was serviced under the recall remedy however, the failure recurred on three separate occasions. The dealer advised the contact that she would have to pay out of pocket for a new battery due to the tire not being original equipment. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000. The VIN was not available.
When driving over 65 miles per hour you lose control of steering - known as the death wobble.
My 2022 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited 4xe vehicle is unsafe, and I fear driving it could cause death or serious bodily injury. The vehicle turns off intermittently and displays "service electrical charging system." The 4xe recalls 95B/NHTSA 24V-720 and especially, recall ZB7/NHTSA 22V-865 have not been properly repaired and completely resolved. This is a serious and potentially dangerous defect. This Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe unexpectedly turns off while driving, it has turned off on me while driving on the freeway, regular streets and has left me stranded in dangerous predicaments. Starting the vehicle is also unpredictable, sometimes it starts and sometimes it does not. This is especially terrifying when it spontaneously shut off while driving. I no longer can safely operate this vehicle without placing myself, my family and others in peril, and as a result I have had to purchase a new vehicle. Vehicle engine shuts down condition caused by diagnostic reactions to faults caused by loss of communication. Recall ZB7/NHTSA 22V-865 is still occurring to my 2022 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited 4xe, an engine shut down condition results in an unexpected loss of motive power while driving, which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning.
There’s seems to be an issue with these transmissions. They are leaking oil from the casing and could potentially run dry and have major transmission failure.
I brought my jeep in for the 95B recall this past December (12/17/24), it was fixed for about a week then problems with the electric system emerged and the vehicle would not run in electric mode. I also received messages saying that an oil change was required (despite having an oil change done in December), and that the battery needed to be charged for maintenance (despite the battery being fully charged the previous evening). I brought it back to dealer (2/3/25) to fix the issue. They said they fixed it and gave it back to me. A few days later the same problems reappeared so I brought it back on 2/22/25 and just received word that they cannot find a solution to the problems despite working with tech advisors from other dealerships and Stellantis. In short, I have had the same issues with the vehicle since about November, they have attempted to fix it 3 times and now are telling me that they do not have a fix for the problems. Please help!
Greetings, About a year ago I started experiencing shaking while driving in the car usually when driving above 60 miles per hour. It felt like the wheels were shaking and wobble for few seconds but would stop. When I mentioned this to the dealership service rep, he said that this is normal and would go away. It did not and got progressively worse. It would shake for about a minute violently and almost cause an accident in the freeway where I almost lost control. I immediately took it to the dealership, and they ended up replacing the steering dampener. They actually replaced it twice since the one they changed with the first time was problematic as well. The rep at the time mentioned that he is astonished that there hasn't been a recall on this yet as they've received numerous calls. Well about few weeks ago, the car started doing the same thing again and this morning it was really bad again and my wife almost lost control. I am taking it back to the dealership next week to see what they can do but this appears to be a chronic problem. I have seen hundreds of people complaining about the same issue online with 2021 and later Jeeps Wranglers.
This is a 2022 Jeep wrangler sport with 40K miles on it. It was bought brand new. We are experiencing what is called the "Death Wobble" where the suspension parts give out and create a severe wobble in the front suspension and steering of the vehicle at highway speeds. The 2019 Jeep had a recall on this problem as well.
I have been and currently experiencing the death wobble while going on high speeds on the freeway. It feels like my jeep is out of control as the steering wheel Shakes and the whole car Shakes. I took it to the dealership where they just completed repairs for the shaking and put new suspension on. About two days later, I still experience the same shaking. There are no warning lights that come on.
Our Jeep has the Death Wobble and its been to the dealership twice. First trip, they had us replace the front shocks and the steering stabilizer/damper. Did not help at all. Now they are saying we should try a Tru-Center Stabilizer, by looking on the web, they think that will fix it. Really don't want or think we should have to keep tossing parts and money into this, hoping it might fix it. Right now we are afraid to drive it on the interstate. Its starts to shake so bad when we switch lanes on the interstate, it almost makes you want to hit the brakes. Traveling on an interstate is not a safe place to hit the brakes to stop the wobble or a place to have a car go out of control. Jeep is a 2022 Wrangler unlimited with 44000 miles on it. Stock suspension, no lift kit, stock wheels and tires.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle drove over a bump in the roadway, and the body of the vehicle was shaking and vibrating as if the body was going to be detached from the subframe. In addition, the contact stated that due to the failure, the contact was concerned that the wheels were going to detach from the vehicle. The contact decelerated and the vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact stated that the vehicle had previously experienced the failure, and the vehicle was diagnosed with steering damper failure, front and rear shocks, and struts, and an alignment needed to be performed. The failure reoccurred after driving approximately 10,000 miles. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 39,568.
There is lack of information on how to file a complaint for a dealer not repairing a recall in a timely manner on this website. This complaint is in regards to the safety recall on my Jeep 4XE- Recall 95B/NHTSA 24V-720. I made an appointment for this recall and took it to Franklin Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Franklin TN. They have had my Jeep for 2 days working on this recall. The letter I received said this would take 2 hours. They refused to provide me with a loaner/rental car and instead shuttled me home and left me without a vehicle for 2 days now. This is unacceptable.
This vehicle has been towed to the dealership 4 times for ongoing transmission errors and has caused the vehicle to shut off in traffic on 3 separate occasions, putting myself and those around me in immediate danger. The vehicle has actually rolled backwards in traffic on 1 occasion, without giving me the ability to stop it initially because the brakes and gear shift were locked up. The vehicle has also been repaired for a multicylinder engine failure early on as well. The vehicle is now showing issues with the battery wiring and has been repaired several times regarding this as well.
Approximately 10 months ago, I noticed my steering wheel and tires began to wobble when I hit the same patch of rough road. The severe shaking would stop once I was on smoother pavement. This would happen sporadically. I had the tires balanced during the next service appointment. The problem did not occur again until a month or so later. I do not drive everyday, as I am a retired person. This is I think the “death wobble”, and it feels as if the car is out of control!
We have 2 2022 Jeep vehicles with the EcoDiesel engines in them (a Gladiator and Wrangler) that we purchased in 2022. I am filing a case for each of them on this site. In April 2023 there was a recall of the fuel pump on the 3.0 EcoDiesel and to date the problem has not been rectified for either of my vehicles. We have made notification to the dealership that we want to get this done but they say they do not have the parts in stock to do it. The dealership said they only get 1 fuel pump a month to replace and we are waiting and have been waiting for about a year since we notified the dealership for this safety issue to be rectified. I am filing this complaint as directed by the NHTSA website because I feel this issue has not been handled in a timely fashion and I believe that it is irresponsible of Jeep to not rectify this in a much quicker fashion. Each time we call the dealership we are told they do not know when it will be rectified.
The engine lost power while driving and was almost T-boned the first time the issue happened. No warning lights were present before the loss of power. I was leaving a stop sign and crossing traffic did not have to stop. The posted speed limit for the cross street is 40 MPH. The dealership updated the software, and the Wrangler 4XE was returned the same day. Less than two weeks later, the loss of motive power occurred again. The dealership had the vehicle for almost 40 days and replaced the high-voltage battery pack. About 50 miles after the car was returned, the check engine light came on. I was almost home when this happened and had the 4XE towed for the third time. Texan Jeep claims they had engineers from Jeep look at the vehicle while it was in the shop for an extended period of time. These vehicles are not safe to be on the road! The safety of any other vehicle around a 4XE is at risk. They can shut down and go into limp mode without warning, with or without the recalls being complied with. The only reason I did not have a significant accident was my training as a commercial airline pilot and dealing with simulated emergencies.
Cranked up Jeep and had no warning lights. Pulled onto highway, Electronic Stability Control alarm sounded. Made it to stop light, stopped, Jeep did not cut off but showed an alarm where it would not move until it was put in park then back in drive. This happened 4 times then stopped. I turned off of the highway onto a different road, got up to speed (approx 60mph) the ESC warning came back on and went off. Jeep did not cut off but it jerked a few times then the RPMs shot up to around 9 without me pressing the gas. I was able to pull over, cut it off and sit for a min. then I cranked it back up and it ran fine for about 5 miles then going about 60mph it lunged forward with no speed increase, RPMs shot up again and a Transmission code came up on the dash screen. I pulled over, my husband came and we put it on a trailer and carried it home. Ran diagnostics and changed both the main and auxiliary battery and it was fine for about a month. I went to run errands about a month later, got in and all the electrical would come on but it would not crank and all the gears on the shifter showed in orange and blinked instead of orange and white like normal. The electrical would not cut off without unhooking both batteries. Tested batteries, auxiliary was completely dead. Replaced it, Jeep still would not crank and the electrical stayed on unless the batteries were disconnected. Trailered it to the dealership, they did multiple tests to find out it was the TCM. First Incident occured 12/18
ON [XXX] My 2022 Jeep Wrangler Hybrid was parked in my carport. Around [XXX] I started smelling something burning so got up to check the house and then went to the garage to check our cars. On checking the Jeep I noticed that the inside of the cabin was filling with smoke. I immediately called 911 and as I was on the phone with them the Jeep spontaneously burst into flames on the inside. The Fire department arrived shortly after. They began flooding the jeep with water and had to drag it out of our car port. Once they had it away from the house the continued to flush it with water and also placed a fire retardant blanket over the top of it to contain the fire. It continued to burn for several more hours until a tow truck arrived to take it to a yard. The fire truck had to follow the Tow as the car was still smoldering as they loaded it. According to the fire marshals' initial assessment he believed the fire was started from the Jeeps Lithium Ion battery. * It is believed to be the Lithium Ion Battery. It has a recall and I had the recall scheduled for 1/9/2025 but it caught fire on [XXX]. The Jeep is with Progressive my insurance company and could possibly be inspected at request. * Luckily we caught it before it was fully engulfed. Jeep did emit noxious fumes while it was on fire and being put out. Our neighbor had to evacuate because of the fumes possibly entering her house. * It has been confirmed by Progressive and they have placed Jeep on notice. * It was inspected by th
While braking (in hybrid mode, with max regen braking on), the car begins to lurch forward with significant force as it comes to a stop. This seems to be an issue with max regen, as acceleration and braking is overall much smoother with the feature off. This has happened sometimes before, but is difficult to replicate on demand. No warning lights on dash, and has not been confirmed by a dealer. There were no warning lights or messages, and has happened since purchase of the vehicle in June 2022. This instance was so severe that the vehicle almost crashed into the house, as i was pulling into the driveway and braking. Upon researching online, others have reported this issue, with some involved in motor vehicle crashes because of it. Clearly a safety issue that requires attention.
My Jeep began experiencing a death wobble going about 65 mph . When driving at 65 mph and went over a bump on the roadway my vehicle’s steering and suspension began shaking violently and almost caused an accident. Anytime the vehicle was cranked up the throttle was elevated and stayed elevated till for 10 mins and you can not drive for 20 mins because the throttle would stick wide open and unable to lower . The exhaust has a backfire upon acceleration as well. The exhaust system is ran underneath the gas tank which I believe is a hazard . There is a ticking and knocking noise in the engine as well.
The exhaust system is ran underneath the gas tank . I am concerned that if I’m involved in a rear end accident that it may cause an explosion such as what has happened to previous jeeps that had the exhaust system ran underneath the gas tank.
I was driving in the middle lane on I96 west when the dashboard lite up fully every light alerting me of every possible thing that needs attention known to man. This isn’t the first time this has happened but it is was the first time on the highway. I attempted to move the steering wheel which wasn’t working-I’m guessing the power steering wasn’t working, I slowly moved to the far right lane and managed to exit the freeway actually “‘manhandling” the steering wheel to make the vehicle turn in either direction. Needless to say I was beyond scared of what was gonna happen next. I made it to a grocery store parking lot and called for towing back to the dealer. This vehicle was just at the dealer the previous week for the dashboard lighting up in the same way but I didn’t drive it anywhere since I couldn’t turn the wheel that time either. The dealer told me it was a fluke and sent me on my way. This vehicle is two yrs old and has only been serviced by the dealer for oil changes and tire rotations. After doing some research, I’ve read that other owners of Jeep wranglers have had similar problems going as far back as 2018! I can’t possibly be the only to report this issue. If I lost control of the vehicle due to power steering issues and sensor/computer failures what would happen to me? Would I be dead? Would I kill other people on the road? How would I ever be able to prove this is the vehicle and not me? This is an issue that needs to be looked at deeper. My vehicle is still at t
I had the 95B battery recall performed at my Jeep Dealer and 2 days later I had a sudden loss of power and and sudden breakdown of the vehicle requiring towing to the Jeep dealer (Orlando Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Orlando, FL 4101 W Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32808 Phone: (407) 299-1120) on [XXX]. They have not been able to give us any answers other than the hybrid battery needs replacement and over 2 weeks later they are giving us no answers or solutions. I first encountered the “death wobble” at 18,000 miles. It happened to both me and my husband within a hundred miles of each incident. I took my car in for an oil change and talked to the technician and he said that he could try the fix that Jeep put forth to attempt to fix it, but it never really fixed the issue. Well, it was not that bad and happened infrequently and life moves on. Fast forward to about 30,000 miles, the last month and now the wobble happens any time I’m at speeds over 60 and hit a tiny bump in the road. Last night, it threw me into the lane next to me and if there had been a car there, it would have been terrible accident. I drove home at 50mph on the freeway! It was terrifying. I am taking it to the dealership tomorrow and I’ll see what they have to say now. This is so dangerous and scary. It need to be corrected.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at undisclosed speeds and driving over a bump in the roadway or a pothole, the vehicle experienced a death wobble. No warning light was illuminated. The contact regained control of the vehicle and continued driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was inspected by a technician who noticed an abnormal play in the steering wheel. The inner and outer drag link and steering wheel were adjusted, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
On [XXX] I bought a 2022 Jeep wrangler 392 from Ron Tonkin Jeep in Milwaukie, OR. It was certified pre owned and still under full manufacturer warranty. I drove the car for one day then parked it at Portland airport before flying to Chicago. A week later while still out of town, I received a call from the parking lot manager that my car spontaneously caught on fire last night and violently burned also damaging 3 cars near it. The fire department came and put out the fire and said the fire was caused by “mechanical failure, malfunction”. Jeep has refused to cover this claim because they said the cause of the fire cannot be determined. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The vehicle tends to lurch/jerk forward during various driving scenarios. The most frightening is when you are approaching a stop light/sign, and there is a car in front of you when this happens. I have had several experiences of almost hitting the vehicle at the light/stop sign.
2022 Jeep 4xe Rubicon, 13,000 Miles - At about 5,000 miles I first noticed an occasional wobble in the front end at speeds around 50mph or above. The wobble has progressively gotten worse and at around 9,000 miles has developed into a full blown "death wobble". At 60mph or above it is most likely to happen. When is does happen it is started by a small bump or depression (smaller than a pothole will do it) the front end of the vehicle shakes violently and the only way to stop it is to let my foot off of the gas and let it coast. At around 40mph it will stop. Hitting the brakes increases the shaking. This is scary and unpleasant and causes confusion to drivers who are behind as I try to make my way to the side of the road. I took it to the dealership and they balanced the tires and charged me $120.00. This improved it for about 2 weeks and then the wobble returned just as before.
Dec 23 took mine in for recall service. Had no issues prior to having this done. Pick up the same day. Was told passed the drive test. Drove to work Dec 24th (26 miles round trip) no issues. Did not drive on Christmas. Placed it to charge that night, for drive to work the 26th. Noticed it did not charge completely. On the way in to work service light came on. Time to leave work, it would not start. Dash had the service charging station. Waited a few minutes. Then it did finally start. Tried to place it in esave. It would not go. Regeneration went off. It drove horrible. Slow acceleration, especially from a complete stop. Got it home and had it towed to a different dealership that had performed the update. Was told a module is bad and they are keeping it until the 30th to check for other issues. They said as a precaution to ensure I was safe on the road. Terrifying experience.
I am filing a complaint regarding an unresolved safety recall (NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V720000) for my 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. The vehicle has experienced stalling and a significant loss of engine power while driving, creating a serious safety hazard. These issues were first noticed in October 2024 and the vehicle has become unsafe to drive as a result. I previously submitted a complaint to the NHTSA in October 2024, but the issue remains unresolved. Following the recall advisory, I brought my vehicle to an authorized dealership on November 26, 2024, where I was informed that no available fix exists for this recall issue, and the dealership could not provide a timeline for when a remedy would be available. The malfunction involves the high-voltage battery pack software, which is part of the recall remedy. However, this update has not been applied to my vehicle, and the ongoing performance degradation continues to put my safety at risk. The recall explicitly mentions the potential for fire and injury, which heightens my concern regarding the unresolved issue. Safety Risk: The stalling and loss of power while driving creates an immediate danger to my safety and that of others on the road. The vehicle is no longer reliable or safe to drive under these conditions. Dealer Confirmation: The problem has been confirmed by the dealership, but no remedy has been provided, and no repair timeline has been given. Symptoms: Prior to the failure, no warning lamps, messages, or other sympto

While driving over 50mph, I encountered issues with stablization where the steering wheel would violently shift left and right, and the vehicles front tires were wobbling uncontrollably until lowering speeds below 30mph. After the dealer replaced the steering damper, I ran into this problem again but much worse as I was driving 70mph on the Interstate. After almost losing control multiple times I was able to take back roads home. This is a huge safety issue as I had my baby in the vehicle and the issue is still occurring. Upon looking under the vehicle I noticed the steering damper free floating and the bolt was missing for the wheel. I'm not sure if the bolt assembly is bent but it appears the replacement by the dealer is inadequate.
My instrument control panel went completely black without any prior glitches. I couldn't see my speed, cruise control lights, engine temp, gas gauge...nothing on my panel displayed.
Wife was going to work. Started to notice difference in the feel of the drive. Then the check engine light came on. When she started to accelerate the vehicle jerks. When the vehicle is at a stop then accelerates the it takes about 5 seconds for the car to start moving. Today the vehicle turns on but can’t switch gears to put it in reverse or drive. Vehicle is a paper wait and the earliest time I can take in to a certified mechanic is 1 month. I’ve had multiple issues with this car. Death wobble, electric recalls. And a recall that stated part not available park your car not in your garage and don’t charge your hybrid…. How can this car be allowed on the streets with this many issues under 2 years

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
