Vehicle has known steering/suspension issue knows as the Jeep "death wobble". It has now been in the shop for this twice with no fix. The first attempt took place approximately June 17, 2023. The car is now back in the service center addressing the same issue and had to be towed to the dealership. Owner does not feel safe driving the vehicle. I am attaching service report from first visit.

While driving the "Service Shifter" warning appeared in the center cluster notification area repeatedly. There was reduced vehicle performance and a continuous chime alert from the vehicle. Turned the vehicle off, waited several minutes and then turned the vehicle back on and the "Service Shifter" warning appeared again with the continuous chime audio alert.

Check Engine Light and Excessive Engine Coolant Leak; Inspected by a manufacturer dealer and seller dealership; Initial dealer stated it wasn't drivable due to the amount of coolant leaking as part of the tubing was melted due to improperly being afixed and being to close to the exhaust; Yes. The same issue was reported 3 times before the issue I had in regards to the check engine light and a recall on the coolant leak was indicated to be fixed in March 2023 but continued to be an issue now; Warning light for the check engine appeared the same day I brought the vehicle in.

My car was called in for a recall. The dealership stated they don’t have the correct software to update the issue but said to come back when they do. They never fixed my vehicle and now it’s howling my recall was fixed. But my car is still having the electrical issue and it almost shut off on the freeway.

The Engine light came on 3 weeks ago and I took it to the auto shop to find out what is wrong. P1547 is the code that the auto mechanic told me was coming up on the scan. He said it could be the gas cap so I had that replaced, but the light came back on in 2 days. He said that this is the 2nd Jeep Wrangler he has seen with the same engine light and code and believes it has something to do with the fuel system. My Jeep is less than 3 years old and only has 22,556 miles on it. I have only driven it around town and on the highways. Have taken very good care of the vehicle and have replaced the oil as directed. This has to be a manufacturers error and something that is quite concerning if it has to do with the fuel system. Please advise on how to proceed. I will be reaching out to Jeep corporate office as well to let them know about this issue and to see which service center they would like me to take the vehicle to. I went to the dealership. They said since there were no lights or messages on dashboard they really couldn’t do anything. I insisted on them looking at it and they scheduled an appointment a week later. They said I have to leave the car with them for a week so they can look at it. They won’t give me a loaner to drive and they are short staffed so the car just sits on their lot for a week. This is completely unacceptable. There was no sense of urgency on something that could’ve turned into a tragic accident driving on the highway in Chicago. I took the car home. It was driving ok this week until today Saturday 8/27, my appointment is for Monday and car is completely dead and won’t start.

When I was driving normally the service shifter, service electronic stability control, auto park disabled error message displayed. Also the traction control light, parking brake light and the cargo light all turned on. Then lost power steering, at full speed. Tried to safely pull off the road. Coasted to a stop, where I then lost all power to the vehicle. Was unable to restart. Had it towed to Jeep dealership, for further inspection. The third time for the same issue. With no resolution or repairs. As they say, they can not reproduce the catastrophic failure. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer. It happened so suddenly I barely had time to pull over. If I was driving in the middle lane or on highways. I would have lost power steering, and stopped in the middle of the road. At higher rates of speed or other circumstances. It could have caused serious injuries, or even deaths. I am no longer comfortable driving this vehicle. For risk of personal injury or death, and being a danger to other drivers on the road.

As I review events in chronological order, I see that a possible disconnect might be caused by clumping the symptoms together and treating as the “death wobble,” when in fact I may be experiencing two separate issues, the first being a failed steering damper and the second being caused by possible bad ball joint[s]. I first started to experience an issue around 7,000 miles in where the Jeep would pull to the right. It was a strong pull because my steering wheel would be turned to the left at about 15-25 degrees to the left in order to keep straight. had them check the alignment. The invoice said the alignment was checked and it was “ok,” December 24 – Florida gets a cold front and we experienced temperatures in the low 20’s with the high temperature peaking at 32 or 33 degrees for a couple days. I drive my normal route on the highway and as I am approaching 65 mph, I go over a transition from asphalt to concrete bridge and the car starts to do the death wobble, where a strong vibration from the front end shook the car until I let off the gas and slowed down to about 40mph. my sister-in-law also experienced in her 2020 Jeep, the same day the freeze set in. Ive had steering gearbox changed and two stabilizers replaced already, JEEP TSB once stated: JL JT have unique torque values for ball joints as compared to prior JK models due to material (aluminum knuckles) and design changes. I guarantee its the crappy ball joints and they REFUSE to admit it. Jeep still claims they cant du

The upper spring perch located at passenger rear is welded to the frame on one side and a crossmember on another. The two vertical welds failed with the remaining welds being at the top of the spring perch. The only indications of a problem were an occasional knocking sound when going over a bump and severe vibration coming from the rear of the vehicle. The noise was caused by the spring perch flexing and tapping the bottom of the body. I believe the welds broke early this year but the source of the noise wasn't found until July 2023. With prolonged use in this condition the spring perch can completely fail causing the spring and perch to fall out and make the driver lose control. The dealership submitted pictures and the manufacturer has agreed to replace the entire frame. There are a handful of other people that have reported the same problem (always on the passenger rear) but because of the design, I suspect as these vehicles age stress fractures in the weld will make this issue more prevalent.

Issue 1--Open recall since 2/23/2023 with no remedy available (over 5 months) From manufacturer: In some circumstances, the clutch pressure plate may become overheated through friction, which may lead the pressure plate to rapidly fracture. When a pressure plate fractures, it may result in cracks or holes in the transmission case, allowing heated debris to be expelled from the transmission case. Safety Risk Heated debris expelled from the transmission bellhousing may come in contact with an ignition source in the vehicle or surrounding area, potentially leading to a fire. A fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside the vehicle. Issue 2--Technical Service Bulletin (TSB 31-002020) dated 10/27/2020 related to rust. This issue was reported to my dealer May 2023 and over 60 days later, the burden is on me to take to a body shop for an estimate to be covered under warranty. Said body shop has had claims open on same issue >120 days with no parts available and no date of parts available. Due to this cosmetic issue on the vehicle, I am unable to trade it in to a dealership for a new car without receiving a lower trade in value. I am now stuck driving a vehicle with cosmetic issues, as I do not want to lose thousands on trade in due to a cosmetic issue that is of no fault of my own.

Took to dealer in April 2023 & diagnosed a bad can bus connector. Replaced connector (approx $700). Seemed to be the fix until it started again June 2023. This time all the above issues started up again including loss of power steering. I was on I70 at highway speeds in rush hour traffic and it was very dangerous. Returned to dealer yesterday 6/29/23 Immediately following loss of power steering while vehicle was displaying faults & they read codes. They are booked for 2 weeks so I'm scheduled to drop it off 7/10/2023. Dealer has been fine to work with and willing to help. My chief complaint is I have found numerous others that this is happening to (internet Wrangler JL forum) & I feel like car mfg knows about this and is not doing anything about it.

On multiple occasions when driving at speeds over ~50 MPH, and hitting a bump or hole in the road (highways), a terrifying wobble occurs in the steering wheel. It is shaking so violently that it also feels as though the suspension, steering, and maybe other components are compromised. I am concerned that this is an issue that could lead to severe accident / injury / fatality. I am able to regain control of the vehicle after slowing and pulling off the road. I’m fortunate enough that these incidents have thus far happened during times of low traffic where I’ve been able to pull to the shoulder and regain control. I’m very concerned that it could happen when that’s not feasible or that the vehicle could lose control altogether at highway speed. I’m also incredibly concerned that Jeep dealers in my area weren’t able to accept my vehicle for weeks and wouldn’t offer any options for loaner / rental support. It feels to me like Jeep is accepting the risk that serious injury / accident / fatality could occur vs prioritizing consumer safety.

When driving on an uneven or bumpy highway my stock Jeep wrangler experiences the infamous “death wobble”. It has done this several times when going 40 or over and hitting small bumps or uneven pavement. Slowing down to around 20 or 25 resolves the issue. This is extremely scary when it occurred on a highway going 70 mph per the speed limit and having to slow down to a slow speed (which creates another safety hazard) to resolve it.

The Air Conditioner in my 2021 Jeep Wrangler with 15K miles caused two anaphylactic reactions to mold. On Wednesday May 31, 2023, immediately upon starting the Jeep engine and the AC fan starting I had a severe allergic reaction while driving that resulted in me having to pull over and administer my EPI pen and use my inhaler. At the time my soft top was off as were the windows and doors. On Sunday, June 1st, the next time I got into my Jeep to drive the same thing happened. This time the doors/windows and soft top were attached. The the only constant variables to the allergic reactions were my Jeep and running the air conditioning. Today ran my Jeep engine in my driveway (it is currently 83 degrees in St. Louis) and ran the air conditioner for 30 minutes and there was NO fluid under the Jeep from condensation from the AC running. I believe the AC condensate line is clogged, and that there is mold on the AC evaporator, both causing my entire AC system and entire vehicle to be contaminated with mold causing both my anaphylactic reactions. The mold allergy is life threatening to me. The mold is also life threatening to the general public if I am driving and unable to maintain control of the vehicle due to anaphylaxis caused by the mold in the vehicle and AC system. The risk I would need to assume, if I choose to drive the Jeep again is unacceptable - and I will not take that risk. Additionally, I will not cause or assume liability for any harm caused to the public that results

Car began death wobble a little over 15,000 miles. Bumps at greater than 45 mph would result in this. Car would have to be stopped on highways to reset. Steering dampener exchanged by dealer, and issue was deemed fixed. Issue continues as car shakes over 65mph and pulls hard to the right. Car was taken in a second time, alignment was paid for out of customer pocket due to being categorized as wear and tear. Dealer says issue fixed. Immediately upon driving, issue is not fixed and car continues to shake violently over 65mph and pull hard to the right. Car taken in a third time. Now issue is inner wall of company chosen tires. Apparently it is too weak over time to support vehicle frame. At the beginning of this issue the car was one year old. Jeep refusing to cover tire replacement as stated it is a wear and tear issue. Even though it began at 15000 miles and is due to poor quality control on part of Jeep. Issue not with Bridgestone tire itself. Issue with tire specs not being able to withstand Wrangler frame.
