While driving my instrument cluster went blank, therefore not displaying critical safety driving information. There were no warning messages or alerts. It has been confirmed by an independent service center.

After I completed the recall on the clutch, I've noticed an alarming issue: occasionally, multiple warning lights appear on the dashboard, such as the check engine, service transmission, and brake lights. The most pressing safety concern is the complete loss of power steering. Although the car remains drivable, operating it without power steering is exceptionally hazardous. Additionally, since the car features a push-to-start system, when this issue arises, I can’t turn it off in the usual manner; I have to stall the engine to stop it. This situation has occurred multiple times, but fortunately, I’ve been either at a stop or driving at a low speed. After leaving the car off for a while, when I start it again later, the fault disappears and I can't replicate the issue.
ABS module failure. Been waiting almost a year now for one, but apparently it’s not a priority to Chrysler and their engineers. It’s going to cause an accident one day and when it does, Chrysler is going to be writing a fat check to your truly.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V116000 (Power Train). The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that after retrieving the vehicle, the vehicle intermittently failed to start. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed back to the local dealer and the contact was informed that a diagnostic test needed to be performed; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the power steering became inoperable for two seconds and then returned to normal independently. The contact stated that during the second failure, an attempt was made to start the vehicle; however, several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the failure recurred. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle and the power steering functionality returned. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
Rear axle and differential began to make a whirring noise indicating bad bearings. After taking it to a shop who replaced the axle shaft, the noise continued. They noticed excessive wear in the differential components and said that it requires a rebuild. Another shop looked at it and agreed on the excessive wear, advising that the vehicle is undriveable until it can be repaired. The second shop has said this is becoming a common failure on this line of Jeep Wranglers and it ends up requiring a full replacement of the entire axle housing and assembly. The vehicle is undriveable because if the rear axle fails it would no longer be able to move. As it has not been repaired as of the date of this report, the components are available for inspection.
As I was driving this vehicle alone on [XXX] , I smelled a burning smell and the clutch seemed to have trouble shifting gears. I was driving approximately 40 mph, attempted to shift gears, heard a loud bang and saw fire at my feet, looked in the rear view mirror and saw fire in the back. I pulled the emergency break and jumped out of the car. It then burst into flames and incinerated the car with all my belongings in it. The JEEP was taken to the dealership for the steering recall, but upon return, the same issue still exists. Once the JEEP hits EXACTLY 51 MPH (does not happen at 49), the steering wheel starts to heavily vibrate making the JEEP UNDRIVABLE and UNSAFE. Upon contacting the HW HUNTER JEEP DEALER, and explaining that the issue still exists, they provided NO HELP and said that was all they could do. Seems like them letting an UNSAFE vehicle on the road is a liability and lawsuit waiting to happen. For this reason, the JEEP in undriveable as all roads near my home are 55mph and it is unsafe to drive.
I was driving on the freeway around 75 mph I’m not sure what happened or why but the jeep started violently shaking back-and-forth I’m not sure how to explain it. But I very easily could have lost control. Where I live there is snow and ice so I’m not sure why that happened but would like to see if there’s something I could check. Or if there’s been a recall. Nobody was hurt thank God no lights came on. I was able to slow down the Jeep safely.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the ABS, Transmission, and ESC warning lights illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer where it was diagnosed that there were several software updates available for the engine and power train. The updates were completed, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the warning lights were illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle back to the same dealer. The dealer diagnosed the warning lights and applied other software updates. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that while turning left onto a residential street, the steering wheel was difficult to turn. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer; however, the dealer was notified of the failure. The dealer informed the contact that the failure was related to the ABS module and that parts to repair the vehicle were on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.
When driving a low speed, if the vehicle hits a bump, it will start bouncing and the steering wheel shakes too much until I stop and then everything comes back to normal. That situation is very frequently and very dangerous, because it happened to me many times while driving on a highway with a heavy traffic behind me, due to the fact that I have to slow dawn almost to stop to be able to control my vehicle. The dealer said that my car doesn't have extended warranty due to a type of tile (total loss) and the repair cost will be 100% out of my packet. I'm a retired person and do not have that type of money to pay for the repair.
= Customer states that when hitting a bump they have the typical jeep death wobble Conditions?= Found the vehicle to have play in all steering joints and the right front axle joint t9 have play. The vehicle has 31,000 miles on it and has never been in an accident. it started the "death wobble" Oct 2024. I traveled to Michigan, not realizing it was this bad, and it became worse over the course of our trip in November 2024. I was traveling at 70-75 mph on why and felt like it was going to fall apart. It took me slowing it down to stop the wobble. I took to a mechanic in Ionia, MI which I had a extended warranty and paid it. I was told it was fixed. They replaced Steering Tie Rod . . . Remove and Replace components as required to access and install materials and/or perform needed service. Retest and verify repair as required. Perform final road test where applicable. 68258761AE - SOCKET, Tie Rod 68258762AE - SOCKET, Tie Rod 68522992AA- SOCKET, Drag link inner 68260466AB - ADJUSTER ASSY, Steering Link 68258760AE - SOCKET, Drag link outer Front Axle. Outer Joint on "fixed" Friday, November 29, 2024. I was trying to leave to return to South Carolina on [XXX], and I went onto the interstate. I was not maybe 1/4 mile, and the "death wobble" started again. I had to get off at the next exit and go back to my Nieces house. I have to take it back to the mechanic shop on Monday, December 2, 2024. I am stuck here in Michigan, and I have a son whom I had to fly back to South Carolina to go
This vehicle is a 2018 model with 27k miles, non of it off road. Upon driving a freeway a few days ago, the vehicle went into a violent vibration/shacking motion,AKA "Death Wobble" that required immediate and dangerous driver action to keep from having a high speed (within legal limits) accident. In addition, the steering system sticking (stops and won't move) and wanders both left and right. The vehicle is dangerous to the occupants as well as other car/drivers in close proximity to this vehicle.
A shimmy in the steering wheel after hitting an irregularity on the road surface, also whenever I want to turn it does like a Squirrelly is the best way I can put it. On uneven roads, bumps, dips, etc the jeep pulls to one side or the other. Consequently the traction control light comes on and the jeep loses power!
Check power steering warning light Appeared during driving and steering became difficult Light turned off. After stopping and trying to restart vehicle steering warning light is back on and steering is nearly impossible after 2 weeks in repair shop was told it was fixed Incident has recurred 2 x times. Latest date 11/18/24
Was using the heated steering well smelt something burning, then the heated component did not work
There was a recall for death wobble on steering, took it in, supposedly fixed. a month went by and wobble came back, took back to jeep, they said i needed new tires. (of course warranty was just getting ready to expire.) bought new tires, death wobble is getting worse and worse. if you hit a bump in road and your going 45mph, you have to try and stop vehicle it is shaking sooo bad. not fair i have to pay
This is a 2018 Jeep Wrangler 2018 JKU RHD and this vehicle starting to get the airbag light on and off in the dash! I brought it to a dealer to read it and they said the code is the B1B02 that means the clock spring is going out and it wasnt safe to drive it because the air bag will not deploy. Looking for all the info about it, i found out they have a recall is some Specific years but why it is not a recall in the 2018 model when it is showing up the same symptoms and problems than the recalled years?
My vehicle started showing the airbag light on and it ended up being the clock spring, many jeep wranglers have being recalled because the same issue. The clock spring is the one that controls cruise, airbag, horn, traction, etc. i took it to the dealership and they said the vehicle was showing the B1B02 code, witch the the same why all the other jeeps were recalled but there is not a recall yet for my year. I want to people be aware of the importance of it, because in a crash the airbag will not deploy and even not in a crash the cruise control could malfunction anytime. I got my vehicle repaired today for a total of $1137.00 that wasn’t covered my extended warranty because they alleged the clock spring/airbag problem is reported very often. This is a really safety matter for all the jeep owners!!!
While driving at 55 mph the brake light, service abs system, check engine light, service 4wd, service transmission, loss of power steering, and engine cooling fan ran very fast. I was lucky to pull off the road and put the vehicle in Park. The 4 Way flashers would blink erratically. Engine still running wouldn't come out of Park. I turned the vehicle off.l let it set a few minutes. I then restarted the vehicle and it shifted into gear and drove home with the check engine light on. The next day it had no check engine light.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at speeds above 55 MPH, the vehicle experienced the "Death Wobble" causing the front end of the vehicle and the steering wheel to shake and vibrate abnormally. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in an undisclosed Customer Satisfaction Program linked to the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The navigation/radio screen has delamination. At first, I thought it was just cosmetic. Starting in July of 2024, it started doing things independently, such as changing channels, the source, and switching between navigation and backup camera; on [XXX], it started turning on Bluetooth and calling 911. I can not turn it on because it continues to call 911. The vehicle only has 20,900 miles. The local dealership and Jeep are aware of the problem and have offered to repair it at a cost to me. This is a manufacture defect that needs to be fixed/recalled by Jeep. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving over a significantly bumpy road surface and exceeding 50 MPH, the vehicle experienced the death wobble. The contact stated that the front end of the vehicle and the steering wheel shuddered violently. The contact released the accelerator pedal and the vehicle responded as needed at slow speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the steering dampener had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the dealer replaced the steering dampener several times under warranty; however, the failure progressively worsened and occurred while driving over minor bumps. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Northland Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (14100 Eight Mile W, Oak Park, MI 48237); where it was diagnosed that the traction bar needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was unknown.
Radiator overflow bottle leaks. Warning light only comes on after empty. Refill of antifreeze was necessary every two weeks or less depending on driving conditions. Also know of this happening with another vehicle of the same make/model owned by family member.
Been trying to get the recall fixed in Kentucky. But dealer says its a Canadian vehicle and will not repair until made endless phone calls to USA and Canada and just get the run around. This has been going on since August 23. I just want a solution. Please help!!!!!
Incident date: [XXX], electrical problems causing loss of steering, 65 miles per hour, EXTREME action required to keep on road. 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport (4 door), 3.6L engine, bought new July 2018, Everett Washington. RPM and speedometer gauges went to zero, loss of power steering, all dashboard warning lights blinking on/off, digital speedometer only showed dashes (- - -) windshield wipers came on scraping bare hot window (outside air temperature 104 degree F), radiator fan went full on, engine kept running but miss-firing/rough, managed to get off freeway and stopped, turned off ignition for 5 minutes. On restart, all errors (except Check Engine Light) disappeared and car appeared normal, no stored warning messages. This is second occurrence. Picture is similar to my errors (it is from Jeep Forum,[XXX] Location: [XXX]. What is going to happen if I am off road and it dies? Or on a Los Angeles Freeway? I might be dead. Several times I have experienced intermittent operation of the rear view camera system and rear brake light operation on my vehicle while reversing. The issue has occured about 10 times in the last year or so. The issue seems to be the same as symptoms as FCA US recall 77B, but my VIN number apparently does not fall under that recall despite being the same model, which I think is a mistake.
Within 1 year of getting our Wrangler we experienced issues with the instrument panel short circuit and also the rear camera stopped functioning. I brought it to the dealership and they said it would require hours to repair them and it wasn't covered under warrantee. I've now seen 2 recalls regarding these issues, Short Circuit: [XXX] : [XXX] While I intend to inquire about these and the latter recall is fairly new, i haven't received notice of either. Additionally, in 2022, far within my warranty, the aux battery that restarts the car for the stop/start function, failed to maintain a charge. The car shut off in the middle of an exit ramp on the highway. It was particularly concerning because the engine was stalling anytime I stepped on the brakes. I brought it in for service and Jeep charged me for the entire replacement of the aux battery since it wasn't under warranty. I'm not sure if this is a recurring issue but I wanted to bring it to your attention also. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
1. Both driver and passenger front seat latches that allow seat to fold forward to access rear seats have broken at approximately 70,000 miles. This will be the second time for the driver side to be repaired. It was repaired back in 2018 under warranty when brand new and has now failed. Currently the cost to repair is approximately $500. The replacement parts are made of flimsy plastic that will break again. 2. Head unit for radio display and climate controls failed at approximately 60,000 miles. Not covered by warranty. Paid over $1,500 to replace.
The instrument panel cluster LED screen occasionally freezes and does not accurately reflect the gear the vehicle is in, speed, etc. Recently the screen froze and continued to display P (indicating vehicle in park) even while the vehicle was shifted to Reverse and Drive. This presents a serious safety risk as the gauge cluster indicates the vehicle is in park when it is in fact in gear. Also, as the display remains on even when the vehicle is turned off the battery may run dead leaving the driver stranded. Our local dealer was unable to get the vehicle to reproduce the issue while in their shop. They advised they were not able to identify an issue. However, we have experienced this issue on 3 separate occasions. This issue was not preceded by any warning lights or audible signals. The issue first occurred at 65,540 miles in the time we have owned it. Unfortunately, I cannot say if this was an issue with the vehicle before we purchased it in July of 2024. We have video evidence of this issue, but the clips are too large to attach here. Please advise if there is somewhere we can email them.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the instrument panel became inoperable and turned black. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the instrument panel needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, where it was repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000 (Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
I had the common issue with Jeep ‘18 wranglers called the “death wobble”. I read many articles saying it’s common with jeeps from the 2018 era. One day I was driving and it stopped in the middle of the road. I couldn’t accelerate or brake. I could not fully get the vehicle off a busy highway. I took it in before this to get it diagnosed and mechanics could not figure it out. After this incident I towed it to the dealership and they replaced my drive shaft because it was completely destroyed. I am now paying $2000 in repairs.
The 3.6l v6 (mostly in the 2014-2020 wrangler) has a known issue for cylinder 4, 5 and 6 misfires, warping, metal shavings, damaged cams, ticking, overheating etc. My wrangler has had this issue multiple times and the cost to repair it is well over $4000 each time. The first time, my wrangler had 85000 miles and now it has 135,000 miles. The vehicle overheats, starts rough, idles rough, loses power, mpg tanks and its a huge safety issue (I drive my 2 year old son around a lot, as well as my dog).
My 2018 Jeep JL SPORT and it's electrical issues. It looses power steering and then the light show begins. Service Electronic Throttle, Service Shifter, Service Stop-Start System, Service ESC, Auto Park Disabled, No Bus, Speed Control Messaging Unavailable Service Required, Fluctuating Gauges. I have seen on YouTube how other jeep owners have this same issued a national issued that needs to be address and fix because is very dangerous and loss control on your vehicle while driving is a horrible experience that multiple people are facing.
After starting the Jeep Wrangler it will not shift into drive and it says shifter needs service, then ABS needs service start stop needs service, it keeps flashing these warnings. It can sit for a hour or day then becomes driveable, took to local mechanic he says it's a Jeep dealer problem (had several people with this problem) they did repairs, but call them and they say never heard of this problem. It's a 2018 Jeep Wrangler.
The sensors, in particular the blind spot warning, randomly light up and stay on until the vehicle is turned off. Radio and navigation system randomly shuts off, and check engine light goes on and off randomly. While driving at night, my entire dash flashed a red warning that there was no oil in the vehicle. I immediately pulled over at a gas station. It was dark, I couldn’t see, and it was 2am in a town I was unfamiliar with. I added 1 quart of oil ( I couldn’t really see the dipstick). The warning light went off, and the check engine light came on. I went 30 minutes to my destination and had the car towed to the dealership the next day. They said it was an o2 sensor, and that there was TOO MUCH oil in the vehicle so they drained it and did an oil change. I picked it up, drove less than 5 miles, and the check engine light came back on. I immediately returned to the dealership. They had it for several days before telling me that I had to replace the Catalytic Converters (2 of them) because I had overfilled the oil. They deemed it my fault. Since then the sensor problems continued, and the check engine light would randomly go on and off. Now it’s at the dealership again because it was leaking oil after an oil change. The dealership, and inspector from my extended warranty are saying that it has a blown engine because there was too little oil (in spite of NO SENSOR going off warning that the oil was low). Extended warranty inspector wants me to authorize a complete engine tear
Since the purchase in 2018, the radio screen stays black for several minutes after starting. Dealer says nothing is wrong but replaced it once. Death wobble is back after recall of steering dampener.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that immediately after the vehicle was serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V116000 (Power Train) the "Service Transmission" and "Clutch Overheating" warning lights intermittently illuminated while operating the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who performed additional services on the vehicle, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact stated that the failure had not occurred prior to the recall repair. The failure mileage was 65,000.

I have put thousands of dollars already into the motor because my Jeep continually overheats and looses coolant. Its been in the shop countless times over the last year with the same issue. I was told it was the head gasket with is a $3k job. I took it to get a second opinion and this shop just completed the same repair on my exact vehicle. It wasn't the head gasket. He said the cylinder is cracked and it would need to be completely replaced. $10k. That it is a factor defect and that Chrysler has been aware of the issue but is currently not doing anything about issue. He said they extensively searched the cylinder head and could not see where the crack was but Chrysler's recommendation was just replace the cylinder because that is where the issue is. I cannot afford to spend $10k on a repair. The vehicle is not even that old to have this issue, it is a 2018. Chrysler told my mechanic that it was a factor defect, a malfunction in the actual part, but that a recall hasn't been issued yet.
1. The power steering, gauge cluster, multifunction display, wipers, door locks, ignition on/off, blinker and most other electronic aspects fail or operate without command. 2. The speedometer does not show speed, power steering fails entirely or intermittent including in turns, turn signals fail to indicate, traction control shows failure, abs shows failure, 4wd shows failure, airbags show failure. Vehicle turns off while on highway due to fuel sensor indicating empty even though the car is filled with at least half a tank. 3. Yes, multiple times, Demontrond Jeep Conroe, Tx 4. Yes by Demontrond Jeep Conroe, Tx 5. All warning lights illuminate at time of failures. No lights were observed before initial failure. Failures began August of 2023.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle jerked and drifted inadvertently. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact became aware that the front brake rotors had overheated. The vehicle was able to be restarted; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was diagnosed with front brake calipers failure. The contact was informed that the front brake calipers needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the same diagnostic was provided by the mechanic. The contact was informed that the front brake calipers needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 79,588.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent dealer where it was diagnosed that camshaft phasers had failed, and metal shavings were discovered inside the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 81,000.
Jeep wrangler jl with 23,000 miles driving 55 mph. Jeep front end started shaking violently and brake pedal pulsating so that I could not brake or steer vehicle. Did Google search and this has been a major Jeep wrangler issue. As an engineer Jeep designers did not understand harmonic frequencies when designing or specificity front end design. This happened 3 times before Wisc. Cambridge service could replace front end steering component at $600 cost. Very dangerous on highway going 55 mph with no vehicle control. I believe you are aware of this issue and have failed your duty to force mfg to fix with a recall.
Drivers seat stuck tight against steering wheel after moving it to let back seat passengers out. Will not move! Totally undriveable! The seat position return broke. I googled the problem and discovered this is a known issue!!! But, there is no recall. Will cost me $800 to repair!
Service Shifter indicator comes on and check engine light comes on. All electronics go crazy and power steering is completely lost.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
