The heat does not work in my Jeep on electric or hybrid and it’s a coolant system failure. The parts fail and Jeep hasn’t been able to fix the problem after two attempts in service. It is frigid and the temperatures have plummeted and there is no heat working in the vehicle. The check engine light has come on indicating that there is an issue and the dealer resets it, but heat not fixed. Yes, a warning light has come on indicating heat does not work in electric mode.

My 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle is subject to multiple NHTSA safety recalls involving loss of propulsion and vehicle fire risk. These defects have created ongoing safety hazards and extended loss of use. Safety Recall 73C (NHTSA 25V-576) addresses a Hybrid Control Processor software defect that may cause sudden and unexpected loss of drive power without warning, increasing the risk of a crash. Safety Recall 78C (NHTSA 25V-766) involves potential contamination of the 2.0L engine from the casting process, which may result in catastrophic engine failure, vehicle fire, and unrecoverable loss of drive power. For an extended period, no remedy was available. Safety Recall 68C (NHTSA 25V-741) involves a High Voltage Battery defect that may lead to a vehicle fire. FCA instructed owners not to recharge the vehicle and to park away from structures or other vehicles. I have been unable to safely charge the vehicle for over six months and have been restricted from using my assigned covered parking due to fire risk. Despite multiple dealership visits for recall-related service, the vehicle has not been fully restored to safe, normal operation. No loaner or substitute transportation has been provided during safety-related repairs. These conditions significantly impair the safety, use, and value of the vehicle and create ongoing risk to occupants and surrounding property. I am submitting this complaint to document the safety issues and extended lack of an effectiv

Our Jeep has a nation wide battery recall (2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe) and we brought it in to be fixed. They said that it will take 6 weeks - months (they dont know) when the updated battery will be ready. They are saying we need to rent our own car as we wait, and we shouldn't take it home to drive because it's too unsafe and a liability. We have spent hours on the phone with Chrysler, Jeep, etc. to address this and they keep just bouncing us around or hanging up on us. In addition, we received a notice from Chrysler a few weeks ago that asked to ensure we had updated our deductibles and coverage specific to fire. It is clear that they are trying to cover their end of the liability of this massive safety recall that needs to be addressed. The dangers of driving our children in this car, along with the lack of trying to help resolve this issue is unacceptable and an example of corporate malfeasance.

There were no warning or check engine lights prior to the incidents below. Car was just serviced Nov 3rd 2025 for safety recall 25v-472 and 25v-576. 1st incident Dec 21, 2025: Driving 70mph on major busy interstate in MA and all of a sudden vehicle lost ALL power. It shut off completely. No lights, No warning. Had to coast over to R shoulder and wait several min before power restored. This was Very scary as traffic was heavy. 2nd incident occurred Jan 19, 2026 and was terrifying: I was driving on a curvy mountain 2 lane road at night. This road does not have much lighting. There are no shoulders or pull over lanes due to guardrails. Out of nowhere with no warning. Vehicle lost ALL power (including steering and ALL lights). Could not get out of road as everything shut off and steering locked. I had NO Lights (both internal and external) I Finally got flashers to work after a minute or so but had to sit there dead in the middle of the road on a curve praying no cars came around curve. Was able to restart after about a minute and a half! Called dealership today and they said there is no recall for “loss of power” and we will be taking it in for a $200 diagnostics test.

While merging onto RT684 I went to accelerate and the car was non-responsive to me pushing on the gas. The car continued to not respond to the accellerator and then the "Service 4wD" light came on the dashboard. This was a safety issue because I had no notice that there was an issue until after the issue took place, a car was very close behind me and almost hit me from behind while I had my 2yr old son and newborn in the back seat. This vehicle has had a number of safety related issues: did not respond to the break on 12/24/24, has been in the jeep dealership service center for over 115 days since my lease began May 2023. The most recent incident was on 12/20/2025 where it did not accellerate while merging onto the highway. The was in the shop from 12/20/25 - 12/30/25 upon return the car had very stiff steering and the car felt jumpy on 1/6/26 the "service 4wD" light went on again and has been in the shop from 1/6/26- until present.

Engine shut off while driving on the highway. I was able to pull over onto the emergency lane. Headlights went off (night driving) along with the heated seat and steering wheel, but the radio remained on. After stopping I notice the emergency park break was on. Once I shut the off the emergency brake I was able to resume driving. The dealership was not able to duplicate or find the problem. They hope the update for a current recall problem will fix it.

For the second winter (2 out of 2) this vehicle has entered FORM mode - Fuel Oil Refresh - and fails to operate as a hybrid car until- if last year was the indicator - Spring and warmer weather. Ostensibly due to running in electric mode for too long, FORM is an engine and fuel safety measure. Since this vehicle was under recall 68C until earlier this week and had not been operable in electric mode at all since September, this excuse fails demonstrably. It has been in FORM since the recall was completed. Having a Jeep in winter that is not operable in electric mode in snow and ice when the potential exists that gas mode doesn't function and the 24 "reserve" miles are not available in electric mode, poses a significant risk. Secondarily, in last winter and this, hybrid use is unavailable for months.

I was driving down the interstate with my two babies in the car seats and all of a sudden all of the dash lights came on, and the power steering locked up. I was driving 70 miles per hour and had to pry my wheel as hard as i could to be able to pull over on the side of the interstate. Once I pulled over i turned the car off hoping it would reset whatever happened and the car was completely dead. It would not crank at all. I ended up having to call someone to come get me and my kids off the side of the interstate and tow the car to the dealership. this car has less than 70,000 miles on it and still is not fixed. It has been at the dealership for over 3 weeks with what they are telling me is electrical issues. I do not feel comfortable driving this car anymore as it is a safety hazard and could have gotten me and my children killed.

On approximately November 15th 2025, I took my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xE In for a routine oil change and tire rotation to Fred Martin Super Store in Barberton , Ohio. Upon completion on the service I was told that there was a recall on my vehicle and I was not to park in my garage or plug the vehicle in due to risk of fire coming from the Hybrid Battery. I immediately called the service department at Fred Martin Super Store in Barberton Ohio to see if this recall was accurate. The Service Department Rep did confirm verbally that there was a recall and again NOT TO PARK IN MY GARAGE OR PLUG THE VECHILE IN DUE TO FIRE RISK. I was told the parts were not available to fix the problem at this time. This vehicle is not safe to have on or near my property and is not functioning the way it is intended. I have contacted Jeep multiple times and filed multiple grievances to ask for a vehicle buy out or a lease termination with out penalty and have been denied. This repair has not been done or remedied in a timely manner, and is still unsafe to have or drive.

There is no heat in truck. It has something to do with the 2 way control valve. When driving you cannot defrost the front window when it fogs up and sometime freezes. I received Safety Recall 68C for my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe stating that the high-voltage battery may become damaged during normal operation and could lead to a vehicle fire. FCA instructs owners not to recharge the vehicle and states that no remedy is currently available. In addition to the recall, I am experiencing a major safety issue inside the vehicle. The rear driver-side passenger seat (directly above the high-voltage battery) becomes extremely hot during normal driving, hot enough that my family members cannot sit there comfortably. The heat is abnormal and appears to be coming from the battery area. I have small children who ride in this vehicle, and I no longer feel it is safe to transport them. FCA has no fix for the known battery defect, and the combination of internal heat from the seat and the fire-risk warning significantly impairs the safety and usability of the vehicle. FCA advises owners to avoid charging, but this makes the vehicle unusable for its intended purpose as a plug-in hybrid. I am requesting NHTSA involvement because this appears to be a serious battery overheating and potential fire hazard affecting the passenger cabin. Please investigate. I need guidance, as the manufacturer cannot repair the defect, and I am concerned for the safety of my family. If there’s no cure to this problem, please ask FCA to purchase the vehicle back from me. It’s a three year lease and I have about six months left on it.

Vehicle Purchased 05/27/2025 6/6/2025 - 9 days after purchasing the vehicle i was left stranded in the parking lot due to the battery issues. The vehicle showed a warning stating to "Service Charging System" and the entire system locked out and the vehicle was towed to to the dealer for evaluation and was there for over a week. When I received the car back they stated it was just the battery and not the charging system/hybrid system. 12/03/25 - While driving on the freeway, warning lights started coming up and the seat belt bell started going off even though everyone was buckled. Then my power steering was disabled, the ABS system was disabled and the breaks stiffened, lane assist was disabled, the airbags were disabled, and the SOS calling, and the engine shut off. When trying to change lanes we had to use extreme force to turn the wheel and the emergency lights wouldn't engage when the button was pressed. Due to the brakes being stiff beyond reason it took us passing 3 freeway exits to slow down enough to force the car off of the road. I had my children in the car and was terrified i was going to be in a crash or worse, lose control and veer off of the road. When i was able to pull off of the freeway, I was not able to drive as the car was continuing to shut off every few feet. I had to have my vehicle towed home and they next day when driving it to the dealer it was still without power steering, the ABS system, Airbags, the brake pedal was extremely stiff and the seatbelt

My 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (VIN [XXX] ) is affected by two separate federal safety recalls involving the high-voltage battery: Recall 95B / NHTSA 24V-720 and the newly issued Recall 68C / NHTSA 25V-741. Both recalls warn of a potential vehicle fire and instruct owners to stop recharging the battery and to park the vehicle away from structures and other vehicles due to fire risk. These warnings appear directly in the recall notices I received. Recall 95B / NHTSA 24V-720 states that the battery pack may contain cells susceptible to separator damage which, combined with internal cell interactions, may lead to a vehicle fire. Owners are advised not to recharge and to park away from structures. Recall 68C / NHTSA 25V-741 states that under normal vehicle operation, the high-voltage battery may become damaged and lead to a vehicle fire, again instructing owners not to recharge and to park away from structures. These are virtually identical safety defects occurring back-to-back in the same high-voltage battery system. The 68C recall states explicitly that no remedy is currently available and there is no ETA, leaving me with a vehicle that cannot safely be parked at my home, charged, or operated as intended. I am now unable to use the hybrid/electric functionality at all, despite paying a premium for a plug-in hybrid vehicle. I am forced to operate the vehicle only in degraded gasoline mode with significantly reduced functionality and safety. The ongoing fire risk, inability to r

The vehicle has an active safety recall related to a potential high-voltage battery fire. The recall warns that the battery pack may contain damaged cells that could lead to a vehicle fire under certain conditions. The manufacturer instructs owners not to recharge the battery and to park the vehicle away from buildings or other vehicles due to the fire risk. The defect puts my family and others at risk because the vehicle cannot be safely charged, cannot be parked near structures, and may pose a spontaneous fire hazard. This significantly limits the ability to drive or store the vehicle normally. The issue was present before I purchased the vehicle, and the recall was active at that time. The problem has been confirmed by the manufacturer’s recall documentation. I have contacted dealerships and the manufacturer, but no remedy appointment or software update has been provided, and a replacement high-voltage battery has not been scheduled. Warning messages and restrictions were communicated through the official recall notice. There have been no repairs performed, and the safety risk remains unresolved.

Complaint Summary: Recall 68C – High Voltage Battery. Vehicle cannot be charged safely and must be parked away from structures due to fire risk. No repair or diagnostic procedure is available. Description: I own a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (VIN: [XXX] ). On November 10, 2025, I was notified of Recall 68C involving a risk of high-voltage battery fire. Jeep instructed me to stop charging the vehicle and to park it away from buildings. I have fully complied, which means the EV portion of the vehicle is unusable and the vehicle’s utility is significantly reduced. My dealership stated that no repair or diagnosis is currently available, and Jeep Customer Care confirmed the same. My case (#94692611) was escalated on November 10, but I have received no update or assistance. I requested interim support (rental or goodwill compensation) because the vehicle cannot be operated as designed, but Jeep advised that no assistance can be processed until a dealer performs a diagnosis—which is impossible because Jeep has not provided one. This situation has resulted in: Complete loss of EV driving capability Increased fuel costs Inability to garage the vehicle (safety concern) Diminished trade-in, resale, and private sale value The manufacturer has provided no remedy, no timeline, and no temporary assistance, leaving me without a functional plug-in hybrid vehicle. I am requesting NHTSA review and ensure Stellantis provides a remedy plan or interim assistance for affected owners. INFORMATION R

While my wife was driving our 2023 plug-in hybrid SUV, the vehicle suddenly lost all power steering assist. The steering wheel became extremely hard to turn and she could not safely control the vehicle. I had to verbally guide her to pull over into a very unsafe area because the vehicle became nearly impossible to steer. The failure happened instantly with no warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms. The vehicle was completely undriveable. I had to call a tow truck and pay out of pocket to have it towed directly to an authorized dealer. We were forced to take an Uber home. The dealer confirmed that this model currently has multiple active safety recalls, including recalls involving high-voltage battery fire risk and potential loss of propulsion, and that they could not inspect the vehicle immediately due to limited staffing. This incident posed a significant crash and injury risk because the driver was unable to steer the vehicle with normal force. The sudden loss of steering assist created a dangerous situation on a public road and required emergency towing. The vehicle is now at the dealership awaiting inspection, and the failure can be inspected upon request.

I am reporting ongoing safety concerns with my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (VIN: [XXX] ) related to repeated high-voltage battery defects and loss-of-power risks. The vehicle has already been subject to NHTSA Recall 25V576 (FCA 73C), which I completed, but the underlying electrical/battery issues continue to raise serious safety concerns. As of November 2025, my vehicle is now listed under NHTSA Recall 25V776 (FCA 68C), which involves a defect inside the high-voltage battery cells that can lead to a vehicle fire even when parked and turned off. Stellantis has instructed owners not to charge the vehicle and to park it outdoors, indicating a significant and ongoing safety risk. No remedy is currently available. Additionally, a separate recall—NHTSA 25V766 (FCA 78C)—was recently announced for 2023–2025 Grand Cherokee 4xe vehicles regarding potential engine contamination that can cause engine failure or fire. While my VIN is not yet listed under 25V766, my model year and 2.0L hybrid powertrain fall within the affected range. These overlapping recalls, combined with recurring electrical issues across the 4xe lineup, reflect a broader pattern of safety defects that place owners at risk. The cumulative trend is alarming: multiple consecutive battery-related fire recalls, prior software updates that failed to resolve the issue, and now possible engine contamination. These issues continue to undermine confidence in the vehicle’s safety, reliability, and long-term performance. I am su

Monday, November 3rd, 2025 In electric mode - I drove the vehicle forward out of a parking spot. The vehicle made three very large lurches over a 200 foot length of parking lot, enough to bang drivers and passengers heads hard against the head rests each with a loud clunk. Within seconds after the third lurch, the car went into gas/oil refresh mode (which transitions the vehicle from electric mode to gas mode). At that point the accelerator became unresponsive with RPMs hovering just over 1000. After multiple successive press, hold and releases of the accelerator, I took my foot off thinking I had lost all power and was preparing to shut the vehicle off. Before I could, the car began accelerating quickly forward without my foot on the accelerator. This lasted for 1 - 2 seconds before the car stopped accelerating and I was able to use the brakes to stop it. Had this not been late evening (9:45p EST) - the parking lot would have been full of pedestrians and other vehicles which would have caused a collision with other vehicles, or worse caused me to strike a pedestrian. I had no control over the vehicle. I put the vehicle in park and shut it down. After a minute, I restarted the vehicle and brought it home. The check engine light has been lit since. At this time (Monday, November 10th), the vehicle is still at the dealership (brought in Wednesday, November 5th) being investigated for this as well as the transmission (?) issue that was causing the lurching described.

On multiple occasions now the dash and nav unit have blacked out for a period of time (maybe 5 seconds) while switching from reverse to drive. Additionally, these sytems have fully rebooted while driving. This is a distraction and causes temporary loss of access to the speedometer and other vehicle data.

Unsafe, Defective Vehicle & Refusal to Remedy Vehicle: 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Overlander VIN: [XXX] Purchase Date: [XXX] Dealership: Route 18 Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, East Brunswick, NJ I purchased this vehicle new in June 2023. From the first weeks, it has displayed severe, life-threatening defects that make it unsafe and undriveable. Despite presenting it to seven authorized Jeep service stations and contacting both the dealership and Jeep/Stellantis repeatedly, no effective repair, replacement, or buyback has been provided. The SUV has just 1,000 miles yet has been out of service for over two years, resulting in substantial financial loss and hardship. Safety Defects HVAC/Defrost Failure: After 20–30 miles, the A/C stops cooling and blows only hot air. The blower often shuts off completely, fogging the windshield and reducing visibility to zero. Jeep has acknowledged this defect under NHTSA Recall 24V111 (Manufacturer Code 04B), but no remedy has been made available. HUD Mirror Glare: The Head-Up Display mirror is misaligned and reflects light from headlights, streetlights, and sunlight across the windshield, producing blinding glare and making safe driving impossible. Failed Remedy Attempts Seven Jeep service centers refused long test drives, logging less than 5 miles even though the HVAC issue occurs after 30–50 miles. Route 18 staff admitted seeing the HUD glare but told me to “tint the windshield.” Management was dismissive, and Jeep/Stellantis corporate has igno
