While in motion, vehicle lost all power; the engine stalled, brakes failed and lost power steering. The vehicle shifted into neutral. I put the vehicle back in drive and it went back to neutral. I turned the ignition off and restarted. My husband was driving and I was in the passenger seat, with my 5 year old daughter in the backseat. If there had been oncoming traffic, we’d have hit them head on.

Passenger side headrest expanded. I was sitting in a parking lot and heard a loud bang. After looking I seen the passenger headrest came apart and will not go back together. If someone was sitting in the passenger seat at the time they could have bene injured. With the how loud the bang was I thought someone hit my vehicle.

While driving my car, it will randomly shift into neutral. The engine will almost shut off while the battery will remain on. I get a message on the dash telling me to shift into gear but can only shift into park. After shifting into park, I have to turn my car off, and back on before I can shift into drive. I have had multiple parts replaced on my car to fix the issue but it is still happening. I find the car shifts to neutral when going over 55 MPH and then I lose all power.

Vehicle only has 38,000 miles and suddenly had visible oil leaking from underneath. No warning lights came on but I took to service center for inspection. The oil filter housing was found to be defective and "leaking badly". Technician informed me that because the component is plastic vs. metal it is a known defect in my vehicle make/model. I also confirmed many complaints of same issue in online forums. I contacted manufacturer but since vehicle is out of warranty they would not assist. Service provider stated the issue is of significant safety risk as engine could lose all oil, overheat, and become undriveable. Cost to repair=$1800

The oil filter housing in the Jeep Gladiator, Wrangler, and Grand Cherokee is known to have serious problems and safety concerns. The Pentastar oil filter housing used in these vehicles can crack and warp due to heat exposure and this can lead to serious oil leaks. Despite knowing about this issue, the company has never issued a recall, instead, they have discontinued the production of the Pentastar and redesigned the oil filter housing for newer vehicle models. https://vehiclefreak.com/jeep-oil-filter-housing-recall-guide-2013-to-2017/?fbclid=IwAR372r_Z1vlEwSsMz6HmMA6_Vn1IEqL3SnyNYNGCuCVbH25-F7cUtjkhzpU

At a speed of 30mph, was slowing down coming up to a red light, as the brakes were being pressed the motor began to rev up and try to accelerate despite me fully pressing the brakes. I had to put the vehicle in neutral and shut it down. I merely missed hitting another vehicle. I called the dealer who had no information for me. No warning lights were on or prior to the reving and acceleration of the vehicle as I was trying to come to a stop at a red light. I am reading numerous forums of Jeep owners reporting the same issue. This really should be investigated before someone is seriously injured or killed, which maybe there have been reports of such already. In my case, there was no injury or damage because I was lucky enough to have no vehicle beside me and had a place to vere off to to pull over quickly. If that hadn’t been the case, an accident would have occurred. I can’t say if this vehicle has malfunctioned like this previously because I purchased 2 days ago.

Noticed a wet substance under the hood and a smell of oil/antifreeze (couldn’t determine either or) coming from vents prior to purchase. I was told it would be looked at and taken care of. After purchase I noticed a heavy leak under the vehicle and when i touched it, I again smelled the same oil/antifreeze. I took it back to the dealership and they replaced the radiator. It continued to produce a leak, and chose to stop and get a diagnosis and they said it was the oil cooler. I then chose to return it to the dealership for repair and they insist it was left over spillings from the previous repair. It still has that same wet substance dripping from under the vehicle. I’m concerned about the safety of my life if it is indeed the oil cooler.

While driving the vehicle at low speed and without any warning or outside influence the headrest exploded and hit me in the back of the head. I was able to retain control of the vehicle because of the slow speed and situation. I have since learned that this has happened to many other vehicles of my model and is related to the collision reactive headrest retaining components suddenly breaking. I recently had a long trip driving this vehicle at interstate speeds and this cpould have been a very serious event.

The front passenger headrest deployed unexpectedly while driving hitting me. The car was not involved in an accident to cause it to deploy. I have not taken it to a dealership to diagnose - it is pretty obvious though (you don’t really need a qualified technician to tell you your headrest deployed). It can’t be pushed back together and it has to be replaced. There were no warning signs or any physical adjustment being made of the headrest at the time of deployment. Since this is a safety feature of the vehicle - like an airbag - a malfunction like this should not be acceptable. I would like to see this investigated and a recall issued for the component that caused the failure. Chrysler need to be held accountable for things like this. We can’t have safety systems failing unexpectedly and then charging the owner $1000 to fix them again with the same crap that is going to break again.

The oil cooler fails resulting in the entire cooling system being filled with the oil from the engine and possibly contaminating the engine oil with coolant. Even after the oil cooler is replaced the entire cooling system must be thoroughly flushed and have multiple parts replaced. It is a safety hazard because there is no warning, the oil cooler fails and all you engine oil is gone. Which will lead to catastrophic engine failure and possibly fire from the heat produced from the friction.

Failure of all forward-facing lights could be fatal at speed. We were in our driveway and on small town streets when it has occurred, but next time? We showed the service representative a video of the failure recorded 09/21/2022 in our driveway, high beams on and switch in Auto position when all lights failed. While the vehicle was in operation traveling straight ahead on roadway the vehicles drivers headrest “popped” causing operators head to jerk forward while vehicle was in motion. Driver was able to maintain control of vehicle but was startled by the sudden explosion and impact on head. This could have easily caused operator to loose control and be involved in a motor vehicle accident. There were no warning messages when this occurred and nothing had been done to the headrest prior to it exploding open. After inspecting the headrest it appears a plastic part inside the headrest snapped.

This vehicle was not inspected by the dealer (out of warranty) or the police but was inspected by my mechanic and is available for inspection anytime, upon request. At time, the noise become extremely loud and scary and is a cause for great concern, especially knowing that this vehicle is mostly driven daily on the highway for at least 1 hour one way. There are two issues. One is that the air bag light is on and never goes away and could mean faulty air bags, two the car is making a clicking noise and jerking when accelerating and the 4 wheel drive service light has come on. It could be the transfer case or differential. The car only has 60,000 miles and isn't driven everyday. It should not be having these safety issues.
