There is an extended recall regarding the driver and passenger seatbelts in 2014-2015 Dodge Durangos and 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokees, number D-21-04. My driver seatbelt retracts very slowly and the passenger seatbelt does not retract at all without manual manipulation. Because of this safety issue I brought my Jeep Grand Cherokee into a dealership in January 2023. At the time I was told parts (X90) were not available yet. I have since called monthly because my car at this point is unsafe to drive with passengers without a repair. Today (June 2023) I was told that there is an indefinite backorder and there is no estimated remedy for the part. The service technician from the dealership indicated that the part is likely not being manufactured anymore. He indicated that my only option was to either drive an unsafe vehicle, stop driving it, or sell it. I was informed that Chrysler would likely not be manufacturing a fix for another 6 months to one year.
•Driver headrest deployed while driving for no reason. Vehicle is available for inspection. •When headrest deployed, it strike me on the back of my head causing uncertainty of what hit me. •The problem has not been reproduce. •The component has not been inspected by the manufacture, police, insurance representative, or anybody else. • There was no warning, lamps, messages, or any other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.
My cam failed after lifter got stuck at 65k miles, dealership repairs went bad after the first repair attempt they covered. I drove the jeep 19 miles after I bought it.. Then the low oil pressure light came on as the engine locked up. Was at dealer 6 weeks but it was not repaired correctly before i picked it up. On the way home from dealer oil pressure light came on half a sec before the engine seized up. I had to walk 5 miles and get a row truck from my work. 14 days to repair it after I purchased a new mopar long block. Dealer installed in 2 days. Cam lobs where gone and oil was almost magnetic due to camshaft lifter contact. I live in Michigan and i was half tempted to drive to fca in auburn hills just to show them 4 identical camshaft lifter failures I have seen in 3 years from friends and customers. I will probably have to file a lawsuit to recoup some if not all of the last repair cost. Old engine was dealership served at 3 to 4k miles religiously and it still failed. My jeep is ok now after paying for new engine before i even drove it home once. 2 months and $38k plus a few thousand in repairs all due to a shady dealership named Feldman automotive group.I don't think this is morally correct on any level. Makes me sick to pay 40k for the 2014 jeep grand cherokee srt used with low miles and tons more in repairs the first 29 miles. 2 months of hell. plus it ruined my financial stability. Why doesn't the dealership warranty a repair they did before a sale if it fails the s
The oil cooler is made from an inferior material resulting in warpage and leakage. That leakage happens prematurely and poses a fire risk from oil leaking from the top side of the engine onto the components below, including but not limited to the exhaust manifold. The component is currently being replaced by the dealer due to catastrophic failure, resulting in oil and coolant mixing. I have found multiple forums that discuss this topic and have not been as lucky as I to have found it early. There were no warnings, no discernable puddle of oil under the vehicle, just an oil trail down the rear of the engine that is not immediately discoverable. The dealer knew to look for this as it is a common failure that could have larger consequences and Jeep should be held responsible for the inferior material selection that warps due to the higher temperatures an engine faces.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the front driver’s and passenger’s side seat belt failed to retract as designed. No warning lights were illuminated. The fuel pump recall can cause a major problem if on a highway or interstate (engine can quit suddenly and without warning, according to the recall notice). This recall has been act for nearly a year with no resolution in sight (NHTSA recall number 22V-406, manufacturer recall number Z46).
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer after receiving notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V699000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) and the recall repair was performed. Shortly after the check engine light had illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve had failed. The contact was informed that the exhaust was leaking into the engine and seeping into the cabin of the vehicle. The contact was informed that the failure was related to the recall repair; however, the dealer was unable to provide another repair free of charge. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case regarding the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 235,000.
The vehicle is beginning to choke when accelerating - loss of power is noticed. the engine light is on. This recall was issued in June of 2022. here we are almost a year later, and there are still no parts for repair?? Why?
Since purchasing the 2014 Jeep GC Overland with a v6 engine new in 2013 I have had an occasional problem where it shifts unexpectedly from auto to manual (paddles not touched) on acceleration from a slow/stopped position. Problem has happened every year of ownership including April 2023! Local dealer and manufacture have tried to find and fix the problem with limited success over the years. Most of my complaints are in the car's file with dealer/manufacture. The transfer case was recalled on the 2014 year Jeep GC Overland V6 but they said mine was not included however the symptoms are the same. This exclusion was based on my vin which indicated that it had a different trans case but I am not sure that they both should have been recalled if different. Again this safety problem was experienced in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Gear switching to Neutral while driving, stops abruptly, steering locks up, and the vehicle shuts down completely. In order to restart, the battery requires a jump. The battery is fairly new and shows good voltage. 05/29/2023 (UPDATE) The issue was corrected with the installation of a new battery. Although the battery (2.5 years old) was indicating good voltage levels during testing, it would dip below 9v while driving. As explained by the Jeep dealer mechanic, this was causing the vehicle to immediately shut down, lock steering, and abruptly halt. I believe it’s still a safety issue. If I had been on the freeway, it would have likely created a serious danger to anyone unable to stop, or maneuver, in time.

I have to keep replacing my engine oil housing filter. I do believe I was sold a faulty engine from Carvana after I was told it was inspected thoroughly. The car isn't even at 70,000 and I've had more repairs on it than I could imagine. The engine light keeps coming on and if I have to replace the entire engine that will be up to 10,000.

Safety recall does not have parts available to fix. Vehicle may stop running unexpectedly. My car stopped running in December and has fragments of the engine. I’m not sure if it is related to this recall or not. My car’s engine is being replaced right now by the dealer, under warranty, but I cannot trade it in for what it is worth because of this outstanding safety recall.
The engine had smoke coming from under the hood, the technician said the PVC hose was disconnected. I had just picked my jeep up after a year of being at the dealership consecutively and got carbon monoxide poisoning, had to go to my doctor and the emergency room. https://www.jeepgarage.org/threads/2014-wk2-ecodiesel-occasional-smoke-from-under-or-engine-compartment.232597/
My jeep has been at the dealership for a year prior to this. On February 21,2023 I gave them a list of a weird smell in my cabin, broken, and missing parts. I was sent an email on the ‘March 14, 2023 saying my jeep was fixed and ready I went in on March 17, 2023 to pick up my jeep, from what I could see the broken pieces were repaired. I got in proceeded to drive, after I went maybe 16 miles one way, I had to turn around, there was a weird smell in my cabin. My eyes, and nose started running and my head was feeling weird. I already have COPD. I found the service manager, he went out and got a technician, the tech stuck his head into the jeep and said it was antifreeze. I told him I don’t know what it is, but I feel weird. They proceeded to lift the hood and there was black smoke, the tech said the “PVC” hose was disconnected. I didn’t know what that was, I left the jeep there. I didn’t feel well throughout the weekend, went to my Dr. Monday March 20, 2023. I had a very bad headache, short of breath, nausea, just feeling really bad and run down. I was told it was possible carbon monoxide poisoning, especially since that PVC hose not connected would distribute exhaust into the cabin. I was then taken back to the emergency room on Sunday March 26, 2023, I couldn’t stop vomiting, stomach hurt so bad and headache. I reached out to the dealership, and informed them what happened. They never replied back. I need help please, I’m a disabled U.S. Air Force retired veteran with COPD an
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently shifted into neutral (N). There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure occurred on several occasions and at each occurrence, he waited approximately five minutes in order to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission valve had failed and needed to be replaced. The part was replaced, however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The transmission was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 119,825.
I was driving and pressed on the gas to go and my car shifted into neutral and wouldn't let me go. I almost got hit by a truck due to this. Luckily he swerved to avoid me. Also my seat belt pulls out but won't retract on passenger side door.
Reluctor wheel / toner wheel is poorly designed and causes the vehicle to go into limp mode when part fails. Manufacture is already aware that the magnet strip can detach and chip as a recall has already been placed. HOWEVER, the fix was NOT to replace the part but update the software so vehicle would not stall. For some reason I was told my particle vehicle was not part of the recall for software update. When my toner wheel went bad it left me in an unsafe situation where I was turning onto a highway and with NO warning my vehicle went into limp mode with vehicles approaching at high speed. I was only able to get up to 15mph in limp mode almost causing a crash as I tried to move over to the shoulder. Limp mode is an UNSAFE practice especially with NO warnings. I would rather take my chances of wrecking additional parts on my vehicle than to have my vehicle go into limp mode on a highway which could lead to a serious crash. The recall 20V-475 should be to REPLACE the tone wheel completely and a recall should be done to prevent a vehicle from going into limp mode without any warnings.
The Active Headrest Restraint (AHR) busted open with the broken clip issue and cannot be fixed without a dealership replacement. The car is available for inspection. This was not the result of an accident or collision, as the car was parked. If I were sitting in the seat, it most likely would have given me a concussion or a hospital visit. Since the AHR is supposed to reduce the occurrence of whiplash in the event of a collision, I am now at increased risk of whiplash if something were to happen. Multiple reports claim it has caused injury, and I am now worried for my passengers if their headrest was to also pop out. As of 2023, the NHTSA has received nearly 500 complaints of headrests bursting open, with at least 71 of them involving injury. The vehicle has not yet been inspected, but will need to be taken to a dealership and paid to be fixed since there is no recall at this time, and I expect a costly repair. There were no previous warnings or indications that this would happen. This is a dangerous situation, and I am scared to drive my car in fear of my headrest not working properly in the event of a FUTURE COLLISION, and am now scared the headrest on the passenger side will bust open and injure someone else. In a proposed class action lawsuit, "65-page complaint states the defect can be traced back to the failure of a “cheap plastic component” inside the AHRs that are unable to withstand the 75 pounds of constant pressure applied by the AHRs springs. The plaintiffs claim
My vehicle ignition button got pushed into the dash and I was unable to start or stop my vehicle from running.

While on freeway at 50 mph. My 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 3.0 diesel ,. loss motive power. I was very fortunate to not crash the vehicle, but the situation was horrifying! I received the recall notice for the HPFP ( High pressure Fuel Pump) , Z46/ NHTSA 22V- 406 but Crystler Corp doesn't have the part available to fix. Iam currently have a loan on my vehicle and can't drive it!
There has been a safety recall since June of 2022 out on my car, and the manufacturer has failed to provide a timely remedy for the situation. I have since taken it to have work done for a permanent code (caused by the recall), and spent time and money trying to resolve the safety issue that the manufacturer has failed to. I am concerned that I am driving a car with a safety issue that has not yet been resolved after nearly 9 months.
Front Passenger side Head Rest broke apart, looks like a plastic piece or lock mechanism broke on the headrest causing it to break apart and I cannot push it back together and re-lock it. This happened while driving down the road with no external factors at play.

The top of the Fuel Filler Tube - Mopar (68302344AB) is made of weak plastic. While fueling the vehicle, the capless portion of the part above broke and a small amount of fuel spilt. Now the car is difficult to fuel and the fuel tank is exposed due to the lack of the fuel capping mechanism.

In 2022 our 2014 grand jeep cherokee Pentastar oil filter housing cracked leaking oil and mixing with the coolant. While driving both levels became dangerously low and there was a burning smell. It is now 2023 and our 2015 jeep wrangler just had the exact same issue with the Pentastar oil filter housing crack and oil leaking to dangerous levels. This is a known issue with Jeep, why are there no safety recalls ??
Have an oil leak in the in the oil filter housing. it bolts to the engine block and is a vital part to the security of the engine. its a possibility that the engine could catch fire. the component has been checked by a authorized jeep dealer and this is the cause of the oil leak. my extended warranty will not pay for the repair of this part. the dealer insisted i buy the extended warranty only to not have said repair covered.

While driving vehicle it doesn't matter if it is highway speeds or street speeds , transmission shifts into neutral and makes car stall. Almost got into at least 4 accidents because of the issue , glad drivers behind me were paying attention and quickly avoid the accident. I have to wait at least ten minutes before car will start again, during those ten minutes car will try to start but without luck. No check engine light , been to at least 5 different shops and no one can say what is wrong because check engine light is not on. And issue happens randomly and technicians Haven't been able to replicate issue. It is a safety hazard. I know jeep Cherokee have a recall for something similar. But it doesn't apply to mine since mine is a Grand Cherokee. Model before mine 2011 to 2013 have a recall for a similar issue but it doesn't apply to mine because mine is a 2014.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
