The Instrument Panel Cluster has failed and is blank rendering the vehicle unsafe to drive as vital information is not being presented to the driver. Despite this Jeep Gladiator having been produced and sold in 2020, Stellantis Recall and Customer Service Departments are claiming that the VIN does not indicate there is Recall coverage despite the 2019-2024 NHTSA Safety Recall for this known failure. see: [XXX] The local dealer, Hilltop Jeep, in Richmond, CA has confirmed the failure of the Instrument Panel. Stellantis is not willing to remedy the problem. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
2020 Jeep Gladiator complaints

The rear control arm welds have repeatedly broken on this 2020 jeep gladiator which creates a hazardous handling condition that may lead to a tragic accident. the local dealer, Hilltop Jeep in Richmond, CA and Stellantis Customer Service have passed the buck and said it isn't their responsibility and have referred us to a body shop to get the suspension repairs done. this seems like a manufacturing defect.
This 2020 Jeep Gladiator has repeatedly experienced the infamous Jeep Gladiator "Death Wobble" related to front steering component defects/failures/poor design. It creates a very hazardous driving condition. The local dealer, Hilltop Jeep in Richmond, and Stellantis declined to make repairs and instead left us on our own to get the needed repairs done at a local Jeep 4x4 specialist shop and the repairs cost ~3000+ dollars. Stellantis has refused to pay for the needed repairs.
Driving at 40-65mph vehicle begins to shake violently, known as the death wobble. Extremely unsafe to be on the road. Transmission gets stuck in 3rd gear, hard shifts and does not respond when shifting to reverse. Mileage is 69110 but has been an issue since about 27000. Unfortunately I have no money to take to a mechanic. Very disappointed in Jeep will not be purchasing Jeeps in the near future.
Almost had an accident do you to the Jeep 2020 gladiator going haywire steering wheel got hard like you had no power steering luckily I was going 45 miles an hour wipers went crazy the shifter went into parking luckily my wife my son and myself we're OK no accident had towed to my house replaced both batteries auxiliary and main battery still nothing replaced can bus it says it does not have connection with ECM
The center gauge has gone out. It was flashing brightly as it went out. It shows: the speed, the battery voltage, tire pressure, gas remaining, mileage and all of the information from the computer that can be changed. The service department said they didn’t know what could be causing it. Perhaps wiring. I’ve checked fuses and wiring and the battery and can’t find any issues. The other two analog gauges work fine. I don’t know if it’s still ticking off the miles I drive. I assume it is? I’m getting no help and I saw that there was a recall but I’m not in it? Any help would be awesome.
Transmission failed to go into reverse. 2020 Gladiator Rubicon with 57k miles.Transmission had been pausing and then shifting into reverse with a clunk sound. Have taken to a Jeep service shop and they did not find any error codes and were not sure of the cause. Problem started getting worse in the past couple of days to where when try to put in reverse, it will not do anything. the "R" light flashes. Have to shift into drive and then back to reverse to get it to go into revers. However, this has stopped working to where to at times cannot get the transmission to go into revers. the transmission also shifts hard on the upshift from 3-4th gear at certain RPMs/speeds. when has issue of not being able to get into reverse yesterday, had to push the vehicle back while in nuetral in order to get it to where i could then put it in drive. In drive on the main road, it would not shift out of first gear, so had to park it and get a ride home. several hours later was able to get the vehicle home. it appears from looking online that a lot of people have had this exact same issue with the 8 speed auto transmission. the only solution it to replace the transmission which costs upwards of $6k. As many issues there are with this transmission, Jeep should have a recall to fix this issue instead of customers having to shell out thousands of $s. Needless to say, i will never buy another jeep product. JEEP=Junk Each and Every Piece!
My instrument center cluster display went totally dark while I was driving . It scared me because I had no readouts of the gauges. I could have very easily had an accident.
The digital instrument cluster on my 2020 Jeep Gladiator has been completely nonfunctional since late November 2024. This failure means I cannot see the odometer, digital speedometer, and all other vehicle status indicators displayed through the cluster. The problem has been confirmed by an authorized Jeep dealership, which has been unable to secure a replacement part due to a reported supply shortage. Jeep corporate has had this case escalated for months without resolution. As a result, I have been driving without these essential instruments for over 8 months, with no timeline provided and no workaround. In addition to the loss of fuel and mileage visibility (and potentially odometer functionality), I also cannot confirm whether the cruise control is active. This could cause potential safety risks during highway travel. There were no warning lights or error messages prior to the failure. The cluster simply went dark. The faulty component is still in the vehicle and available for inspection. Jeep is aware of the issue, and a case is currently open.
The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Gladiator. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the instrument panel failed to operate as intended and was inoperable. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer and was inspected. The contact was informed that the instrument panel was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Gladiator. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the instrument panel failed to display critical safety information or provide illumination for any warning lights. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 44,300.
I have had the same issue with the cluster going out that is recalled on other units of the same year make and model. My entire cluster is dead and will not show any information. The current recall for this same issue should be expanded to cover my VIN as well.
This is in relation to 24V – 652. I know this has been a recall for other models built in the same year, but the recall is not on my particular Jeep for some reason. I am having the exact same issue. The instrument cluster panel has gone out and does not work and needs to be replaced. It is the same issue that is being had with a 3.5 screen, but it is now happening on the Rubicon edition, and it is not under the recall which does not make any sense. Can you please help me with this
Driving down the highway at normal rate of speed, the engine light came on and then started blinking and I loss power in the engine. After about 10-15 seconds, the engine light went off and the engine regained power. A few minutes later, the same thing occurred. In the mornings when the engine was cold, the engine would sputter when idling and the check engine light would come on. The dealership mechanics found the problem to be the cam shaft lobe being scored causing piston #5 to misfire. The dealership told me that there are 12,000 backlogged requests for this part. In other words, there is a known defect in the cam shaft. The price of repair is over $4000. This needs to be a mandatory recall by the manufacturer!! 12,000 back logged requests for this part? Really? This is a safet issues because of the engine power loss while driving down the highway. My truck was in the shop at the dealership for 41 days. Ridiculous.
The instrument panel does not illuminate or work. No speedometer, no warning lights, no fuel gauge etc. Somerset Jeep states needs a instrument cluster. open recall 30B/NHTSA 24V-652 for same problem and being told my VIN is not covered
On May 17th 2025, I brought my vehicle to the Jeep Chrysler Dodge of Paramus (315 Rte 4 West, Paramus, NJ 07652) for the recall repair. Today, on May 20, 2025, I received my vehicle back after refusing an additional $580 charge for a hydraulic clutch master cylinder replacement, which the dealership claimed was unrelated to the recall. I declined this service due to the financial burden and my belief that the repair should be covered under the recall, but this leaves my vehicle in a potentially unsafe condition. As a Material Planning Specialist in Paramus, NJ, I rely on my Gladiator for daily commuting, and operating it with a damaged component poses significant risks. The repair delay, while only three days and not yet qualifying for New Jersey’s Lemon Law, has resulted in my vehicle being returned without addressing a critical safety issue. During the repair, the dealership informed me that the hydraulic clutch master cylinder is damaged and requires replacement at an additional cost of $580, claiming it is unrelated to the recall. However, when I spoke with the service manager on May 20th, they admitted they have no evidence that the master cylinder damage is not due to the recalled clutch pressure plate. Given the recall’s documented risk of the pressure plate fracturing and causing collateral damage to nearby components (e.g., transmission case), I believe the master cylinder failure is likely a direct result of the defective clutch system. The recall repair should cove
The 7" Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) began flickering constantly in January 2025 then stopped turning on altogether in May 2025. A similar issue led to safety recalls for Jeep Gladiators and Wranglers with 3.5" IPCs. This is much more concerning for owners with 7" IPCs, as these versions do not have analog temperature and fuel gauges. A dealership (Bayside King George, VA) first observed the flickering when test driving the vehicle after performing the last safety recall. I have not brought the vehicle back since the display stopped turning on because dealerships regularly charge ~$2,000 and hold the vehicle for an extended period to fix this with a replacement IPC. Losing the digital speedometer and ability to observe what speed the cruise control is set to, fluid temperatures, tire pressure, and battery voltage is very concerning, and it is puzzling why Jeeps with 7" IPCs, which are harmed more due to this fault, were excluded from this recall. While searching forums about this issue, it was apparent that this was a widespread issue for Wranglers and Gladiators with 7" IPCs.
While driving in rush hour traffic, stop and go driving, a service shifter message started to intermittently appear, then the forward collision warning message started to frequently chime in and off, then I lost power steering, check engine light illuminated, other messages auto start stop service, service sway bar disconnect, transmission was stuck in 3rd gear then after a stop it would not shift out of 1st even switching to manual shift mode, was able to pull over to side of road. Turned off the vehicle, used my code reader to clear the codes, started the vehicle back on and everything was clear and vehicle drove as normal. Sure glad it didn’t happen at speed! I have read of other people having the same issue so I wanted it to add my concern as well.
On [XXX], the cluster of my 2020 Gladiator JT turned black. After searching similar issues online, I found that there is an NHTSA Recall Number: 24V-652, Manufacturer Recall Number: 30B that affects Models: 2020–2024 Jeep Gladiator. The Issue is summarized as follow: " The IPC may experience an internal short circuit, leading to a blank screen. This malfunction prevents the display of critical information such as speed, fuel level, and warning indicators, posing a safety risk". This is exactly what I am experiencing with my car. I entered my VIN number [XXX] on the NHTSA website but my car has no recalls. I'd like to file a formal request to have this VIN number included in the recall so I can get this issue fixed rapidly. This is a safety hazard as it distract the driver's attention and is in violation of federal motor vehicle standard 101. When the windshield wipers are turned on all the dash lights go out. There were no warning lights to warn me of an issue with the electrical system. I called a Jeep Wave Specialist, and I was told to take my Jeep to a dealer to diagnosis the problem.
The 2020 Jeep Gladiator dash Cluster failed on January 28. 44,267 miles, off warranty of 3 years, 36000 miles. No off roading to date. Deemed unsafe to drive by dealer. Part through Chrysler has been "ETA'd" a month at a time, despite weekly updates. I believe this should be reported and investigated throughout the consumer purchases. No warning, driver display went black while driving down the interstate. No idea on gas level, had analog speedometer and RPM, thankfully, but I was 40 miles from my dealer. Manufacturer to date has not "inspected" my Gladiator. They only contacted the dealer to indicate they are "expediting" my part order. Vehicle is available for inspection. It has been sitting outside on the dealer lot since Jan 28, 2025. It was never subjected to the elements prior to this incident: always garaged.

Instrument Panel Cluster went blank creating a safety issue. I cannot see my odometer, gas gauge, and oil and water levels. This is already a recall with other Jeeps but for some reason my VIN is not listed even though I have the same exact issue with my Jeep. My car has been deemed unsafe to drive and sitting at the dealership for 2 weeks now. They told me a part wouldn’t be available until mid-May resulting in me without a vehicle to drive to work in the meantime.
The instrument control panel is out and not showing any information on the screen to include speed and any warning messages that could be involved
Instrument cluster quit working. There is nothing displaying
The engine was loosing power and fuel economy declined. What was found is that the intake camshaft lobes worn down on the intake camshaft, passenger side. This issue has been has been found to be prevalent in many vehicles with this same 3.6 liter engine. Found online was also a class action lawsuit from Delaware that has been issued for this very defect.
I started my 2020 Gladiator Rubicon to drive and the instrument display dash between the speedometer and RPM gauge went black. I can no longer access mileage or other equipment gauges (e.g. temp, oil pressure, etc.). This appears related to NHTSA Campaign 24V652000 but my VIN was not included in the affected VINs reported. Vehicle has under 80K miles and no misuse.

Instrument cluster has failed at random. No blown fuses etc. no misuse or incidents. Instrument cluster working as normal when started at driven at days start. Started vehicle for second time same day to depart location and instrument cluster completely black and not working. This issue has not fixed itself over time, and is not linked to any other issue causing such. Issue also has not been resolved as a new cluster is almost $500. Instrument cluster not functioning makes it very unsafe to drive as well as makes it impossible to see or find any vital information pertaining to the vehicles health and performance. I can no longer access fuel levels, engine/oil/transmission/etc. temperatures. Oil life, as well as not being able to reset oil life when/if oil is changed. With this issue I can not even see if check engine light is on or if receiving important safety message from vehicle. Also cannot see if vehicle is in 2H 4H N or 4L via dash. As well, but NOT limited to, I also cannot even access vehicles current mileage, and cannot even see battery voltage. My vehicle also is in desperate need of new tires, but because of this issue I cannot even replace them properly as I need cluster screen to make sure the accurate, proper and PRECISE tire size is imputed to vehicle to not affect vehicles performance and most importantly health. It’s ridiculous that their is currently a recall for such exact part, but only certain gladiators are supposedly “affected”. Yet, here I am, with a 2

Gauge cluster went blank randomly, no prior warnings, it just went out while driving. It has been at the dealership getting worked on, in which they stated this is an issue they have seen with other jeeps. I find this to be a safety issue since you can't immediately view how much gas you have, miles in the car, speed while driving. It has not been inspected by any other entity other than the Opelika Jeep Dealership in Alabama.
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) display has started flickering on and off, progressively getting worse until it goes dark. The problem is intermittent and seems to be happening more frequently over time. This issue is distracting when driving; the display shows critical vehicle information.

Speed digital cluster screen dont work! At all started about 2 weeks ago
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) display went blank and has not come back on. Similar to the description in recall number 24V652.
Steering dampner. Causes steering to suddenly make the vehicle jerk to the left or the right when at speeds around 45 mph or higher making it a hazardious risk and safety concern for yourself and also other people.
Rearview camera stays on while vehicle is going from reverse to drive causing a distraction an a safety concern
The LCD screen on the dash indicating special messages, fuel gauge, and speed readout malfunctioned and does not operate correctly. Another recall is in place but not for my specific Jeep.
Loss speedometer and all dash gauges. Known problem on Forums; however NO TSB or Recall to fix issue. Plethora of CEL codes to include causing speed to not display on digital or analog indicators.
Instrument panel with speedometer, gas gage and other components went black. It is available for inspection. My safety has been put at risk due to unknown conditions of vehicle through instrument panel. The problem has been confirmed by a dealer, I was initially told that it was just a "fluke" and it would never happen again, so it was not fixed. Now I find out there is a recall by Jeep, but my VIN number isn't involved. The instrument panel would initially blink and then it went completely black and stays that way.

The 7" Instrument Panel cluster's digital display has gone completely blank. I see that the 3.5" version has been recalled on some years but not the 7". At least with the 3.5" model there is an analog gas gauge and temperature gauge, with the 7" all this is digital. Currently the only way for me to know how much gas I have is to rely on the Siriusxm Guardian feature which links to an iOS app that occasionally updates status. Anecdotal evidence points to a number of individuals, especially in the 2020 jeep Gladiator, that have this issue.
Driver information cluster went blank. There are other complaints for this same item but recall does not cover my VIN.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
