Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain 2014-2015 Jaguar XF vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan), and the U.S. Virgin Islands, or "Zone A." Unless included in "Zone A" above, Jaguar is also recalling certain 2011-2015 Jaguar XF vehicles, originally sold, or ever registered, in Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia, or "Zone B." Unless included in Zone A and Zone B above, Jaguar is also recalling certain 2010-2015 Jaguar XF vehicles, originally sold, or ever registered in Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming or "Zone C." These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules used as original equipment or replacement equipment. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger frontal air bag, these inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling.

Risk. An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

Remedy. Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag assembly, free of charge. The recall began June 27, 2018. Owners may contact 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is J072.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain model year 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2015 XF vehicles manufactured February 6, 2008 to October 20, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the driver frontal air bags may be missing a chemical enhancer required for the second stage deployment, resulting in the second stage deploying improperly in certain crashes.

Risk. An air bag that inflates improperly increases the risk of injury.

Remedy. Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver frontal air bag module, free of charge. The recall began on May 5, 2016. Owners may contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is J065.

Defect. Jaguar is recalling certain model year 2010-2012 XF vehicles equipped with a 5.0L gasoline engine. The affected vehicles may have a fuel tank fuel outlet flange that may crack.

Risk. The cracked flange may result in fuel leakage onto the ground. This leaking fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, may result in a vehicle fire.

Remedy. Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected fuel tank fuel outlet flanges, free of charge. The recall began on December 20, 2012. Owners may contact Jaguar at 1-800-452-4827.

The contact's son owns a 2011 Jaguar XF. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed that gasoline was leaking from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V521000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The mechanic referred the contact to the dealer, who informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.

I just recently purchased the car from a dealer here in Salt Lake City. But suddenly began to smell fuel mostly in the backseat area inside the car. I decided to investigate and found there is a leak underneath the rear passenger side of the car which appears to be fuel looks like it may be mixed with the little oil hard to say it's a pretty steady drip especially if I'm parked uphill. This is definitely a safety hazard being that it is fuel and could easily cause a fire putting me my family and others at risk. I noticed there was a recall on these vehicles it is a Jaguar XF 2011 but it looks like it has been closed from what I can tell. I'm hoping that that's not the case and we can get this fixed with minimum or no charge thing it was a recall

The failure mileage was 67,614.

The contact stated while driving 50-60 MPH, the vehicle unintendedly turned off in the middle of the highway and the gear shifter retracted into the console, preventing her from shifting into gear. Additionally, the doors locked and the contact was unable to exit the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after 25 minutes. The gear shifter raised up and the contact was able to veer to the side of the roadway however, the failure reoccurred. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after 25 minutes and exited the highway. The contact veered to the side of the road and the vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact later refueled the vehicle however, the failure recurred while driving. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.

The Gear shifter from park to drive is stuck in Drive and won’t come out

The contact owns a 2011 Jaguar XF. The contact stated that the fuel gauge would intermittently indicate that the fuel tank was empty while there was fuel in the tank. The contact stated that upon taking the vehicle to the gas station and refueling, the fuel gauge indicated that the fuel tank was full; however, two days later, the fuel gauge indicated that the fuel tank was empty. The contact did not refuel and continued to drive the vehicle. The fuel gauge later indicated that there was 3/4 tank of gasoline left. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank, the assembly sender, the flange, the gasket, and the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact became aware that the manufacturer had issued a Technical Service Bulletin Number: JTB0001NAS1 regarding the fuel gauge failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 59,147.

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, an abnormally strong gasoline odor would emit throughout the vehicle with the check engine warning remaining illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact discovered that fuel was leaking from the fuel tank on the passenger’s side of the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed him that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V521000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) which he linked to the failure. The contact was then instructed by the manufacturer to take the vehicle to a local dealer for an inspection; however, the contact declined. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. CURRENTLY THE FUEL TANK IS RUPTURED LEAKING FUEL ON THE GROUND. tHE LEAK IS NOT VISIBLE AS TO WHERE IT IS ORIGINATING FROM. tHE LEAK STOPS AFTER THE CAR SITS FOR ABOUT A HALF HOUR. I HAVE NOT TAKEN THE CAR IN FOR INSPECTION. I DID FIND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS POSSIBLE PROBLEM BACK IN 2012 AND WAS WONDERING IF THE MANUFACTURE IS STILL LIABLE FOR THIS PROBLEM EVEN AFTER IT IS FIXED THE FIRST TIME? OTHER THAN THE STRONG ODOR FROM THE FUEL THE ONLY INDICATOR I RECEIVED WAS THE SERVICE SOON LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH. NOT SURE IF THIS WOULD BE COVERED UNDER RECAL 12V521000.

DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, GET TO A LIGHT OR I AM TURNING- THE CAR TURNS OFF FOR NO REASON. THEN I CUT IT OFF THEN START IT BACK UP. IT RUNS FIND. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST WEIRD. THEN HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY TWICE. IT STALLS. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. WHY IS MY STALLING? DO YOU HAVE ANY DATA FOR ME? I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT TO DO. I AM GOING TO RESEARCH MORE AS WELL. PLEASE HELP ME!

HOW CAN MY VEHICLE NOT BE ON THE LIST FOR RECALL IF SEVERAL OWNERS WITH THE LAST 8 DIGIT VIN NUMBER STARTING WITH BLR... PLEASE HELP!

I CURRENTLY HAVE A MODEL YEAR 2011 XF VEHICLES AND IT IS EQUIPPED WITH A 5.0L GASOLINE ENGINE. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS ISSUE WAS AFFECTING 2010-2012 XF VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE 5.0 L GASOLINE ENGINE. THE AFFECTED VEHICLES MAY HAVE A FUEL TANK FUEL OUTLET FLANGE THAT MAY CRACK. I'M CURRENTLY HAVING THE SAME ISSUE THAT THE RECALL IS SPEAKING OF; HOWEVER, MY VEHICLE IS NOT IN THE CURRENT RECALL. I WANTED TO BRING THIS TO JAGUAR'S ATTENTION FOR CURRENT OWNERS LIKE MYSELF, FOR THE AFFECTED VEHICLES MAY HAVE A FUEL TANK FUEL OUTLET FLANGE THAT MAY CRACK. I THINK THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS RECALL THAT SHOULD BE FOR ALL OF 2010-2012 XF THAT HAVE THIS ISSUE. THIS IS THE INFORMATION THAT IS CURRENTLY POSTED ONLINE FOR JAGUAR'S CUSTOMERS TO SEE, BUT WHEN I CALLED ABOUT THIS RECALL, I WAS INFORMED IT DIDN'T APPLY TO ME EVEN THOUGH I AM AFFECTED.

I HAD MY 2011 JAGUAR RUNNING WHILE I WAIT FOR A LOCKSMITH AND I COULD SMELL FUEL COMING FROM THE VEHICLE MAINLY ON THE SIDE WHERE THE GAS TANK IS LOCATED. ONCE I SAT INSIDE THE VEHICLE I COULD SMELL GAS INSIDE. I LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE ON THE GAS TANK SIDE AND I NOTICED A FUEL LEAK ON THE TANK UNDERNEATH. I HAD IT CHECKED AND WAS TOLD THAT IT HAS TO DO WITH WITH THE FLANGE. I READ THAT THERE IS A RECALL BUT WHEN I PUT IN MY VIN- IT STATES NO REPAIRS OR RECALLS. THIS SHOULD BE COVERED.

CAR SHUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION MAKINGA LEFT HAND TURN IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC STARTED POURING FUEL FROM BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE. THEN BEGAN MAKING A CLICKING SOUND. PETROL WAS RAINING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR.

THE RELATIVE DISCONNECTED AND RECONNECTED THE FUEL PUMP AND THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JAGUAR GREENSBORO (1205 BRIDFORD PKWY, GREENSBORO, NC 27407) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL PUMP AND FLANGE WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT LINKED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V332000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.

VEHICLE SUBJECT TO APPARENT FUEL STARVATION. ENGINE CUTS OUT AND CANNOT BE RESTARTED. SOMETIMES WHEN STATIONARY AND SOMETIMES WHEN MOVING. AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME IT SPONTANEOUSLY RESTARTS, TYPICALLY NEXT DAY. AAA TOWED AND REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP WITH OEM PART, BUT IT DOES NOT HELP. I CAN PROVIDE RECEIPT IF NEEDED. APPEARS TO BE VERY SIMILAR SYMPTOMS TO THE 2010 AND 2013 JAGUAR XF RECALLS, BUT JAGUAR INDICATES THAT MY VIN IS NOT COVERED AND I SHOULD CONTACT THE DEALER AT MY OWN EXPENSE. PERSISTENT PROBLEM...DANGEROUS AND NOT FAIR! THIS HAPPENED 4 TIMES SO FAR, MOST RECENTLY YESTERDAY. CAR HAS APX. 56K MILES ON IT.
