2018 Jaguar E-Pace

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain 2018 Jaguar E-Pace vehicles. The brackets that secure the front brake hoses may not have been installed properly, allowing the front brake hoses to contact the tires, possibly resulting in a brake fluid leak.

Risk. A brake fluid leak can lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the front brake hose brackets, replacing any that do not provide sufficient clearance, free of charge. The recall began on April 16, 2018. Owners may contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is H074.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain 2018 Jaguar XE, XF, E-PACE, F-PACE and F-TYPE vehicles equipped with a 2.0L gasoline engine. The fuel rail end caps may leak, possibly resulting in fuel vapor or liquid fuel leaking into the engine bay.

Risk. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source such as hot engine or exhaust components can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel rail, free of charge. The recall began on March 8, 2018. Owners may contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is H081.

I own a 2018 Jaguar E-PACE that recently failed the Virginia state safety inspection due to a problem involving the fuel system/fuel rail. The vehicle and affected components are available for inspection upon request. The primary symptom was a strong smell of raw gasoline. There were no warning lights or messages on the dashboard. The vehicle was also driving normally, with no noticeable change in performance. The gasoline odor was the only noticeable symptom before the problem was identified. The vehicle failed a Virginia state safety inspection because of the fuel-system/fuel-rail issue. After the failed inspection, I took the vehicle to a separate independent mechanic, who confirmed the problem. This concerns me because a fuel-system failure accompanied by the smell of raw gasoline creates a potential fuel leak and fire hazard. There were no dashboard warnings or changes in how the vehicle drove that would have alerted me to a potentially serious problem. After researching the issue, I learned that Jaguar has an existing recall affecting certain vehicles for a fuel-related defect that appears very similar to the problem my vehicle is experiencing. However, my 2018 Jaguar E-PACE VIN is not included in the affected population and shows no open recall for this issue. I am concerned the existing recall population may not include all affected vehicles. My vehicle's fuel-system/fuel-rail problem was identified by a state safety inspection station and independently confirmed by a

Engine fuel rail leak and Engine feed line leak. Starting the car has a raw fuel smell inside the cabin of the car. Took the car to jaguar and they said nothing was wrong. Took the car to a jaguar specialty shop and they revealed the fuel rail needed a "recall" similar to the 2017+ Jaguar F-Pace for the fuel rail, and 2 engine feed lines. Safety is put at risk by introducing fuel fumes into the cabin of the car, and leaking fuel with the possibility of detonation. The problem has been inspected by a Jaguar specialist, there aren't any warning lights or indicators outside of the fuel smell in the car. This is the same thing that happened in my 2017 Jaguar F-Pace. Same fuel smell, same issues in the fuel rail and the engine feed lines. This is over 3k in repairs and jaguar is saying there is no issues.

The contact called on behalf of the owner of a 2018 Jaguar E-Pace. The contact stated that since the vehicle was purchased, an abnormal fuel odor had been emitting from the vehicle. The contact stated that the abnormal smell persisted. The contact stated that the fuel odor was strong when filling up the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to several independent mechanics who diagnosed that fuel was leaking into the engine bay. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted, however, and refused to inspect or diagnose the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified and referred the contact to the dealer. The contact stated that the vehicle was consuming excessive fuel and the failure was worsening. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

OEM windshield, vehicle has no accidents or damage. Windshield seal failed. Can push the windshield away from the frame and has water intrusion. Unknown how much of the seal and dash electronics are compromised. Safety concern catastrophic failure of a windshield while driving or loss of electronics resulting in loss of driver control. No picture of seal failure available as it requires destructive testing.

The car shifts into neutral on the freeway.

The contact owns a 2018 Jaguar E-Pace. The contact stated that upon routine tire service, there was an abnormal fuel odor entering the cabin of the vehicle through the air vents. The contact was informed by the mechanic at a local Firestone that the fuel line was leaking while the vehicle was running. No warning light was illuminated. An appointment with the dealer was scheduled to inspect the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

The cooling fan runs at extremely high speed for no reason and makes an extremely loud noise. There have been similar multiple complaints on jaguar e pace forums

The contact owns a 2018 Jaguar E-Pace. The contact stated that while the vehicle was turned off, the front hazard lights were still blinking. The contact's wife opened the driver's door and there was smoke inside the cabin of the vehicle. The contact stated that the smoke odor was coming from the cabin of the vehicle. The contact inspected the vehicle, and the battery was disconnected. The contact stated that the A/C unit, and the heated front seats failed to operate as intended. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the integrated climate control module and switch pack needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,900.

WHEN PARKED IN A PARKING LOT, THE VEHICLE STARTED MOVING BY ITSELF. THIS HAD HAPPEN BEFORE ON A DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THIS TIME I COULD NOT GET IT TO STOP. BECAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT THAT ENSUED, I CANT REMEMBER A LOT ABOUT THE ACCIDENT. THE POLICE BELIEVE I HIT THE POST AT 30 TO 50 MPH. BECAUSE OF THE JAGUAR PROPRIETARY INFORMATION SYSTEM" BLACK BOX ", NO ONE CAN READ THE DATA FROM THE CAR BUT JAGUAR. THAT IS KIND OF LIKE LETTING THE FOX GUARD THE HEN HOUSE. ALL WE WANT TO KNOW WAS IF MY FOOT WAS ON THE BREAKS WHICH I BELIEVE WHILE TRYING TO STOP. WE BELIEVE THIS IS A CASE ON SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WITH KNOW WAY TO PROVE IT BECAUSE OF THE INABILITY TO RETRIEVE THE DATA.

VEHICLE EXHIBITS VERY HARD DOWNSHIFTS AT LOWER SPEEDS. MAJORITY OF THE OCCURRENCES DRIVER IS NOT ABLE TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A SMOOTH STOP WITH VEHICLE EXHIBITING VERY HARD DOWNSHIFTING AND OCCASIONALLY ACCOMPANIED BY A 'BOUNCING, IN THE DRIVELINE. UNABLE TO DETERMINE A COMMON ENVIRONMENT, SURFACE, GRADE, SPEED, OR VEHICLE CONFIGURATION. UNABLE TO CONTROL WITH BRAKING OR THROTTLE CONTROL. IN COMPARISON VEHICLE BEHAVIOR WILL CAUSE UNCONTROLLED SLIDE ON SLICK WINTER SURFACES. DEALER, MANUFACTURER CUSTOMER SERVICE, MANUFACTURE CORPORATE REP DECLARED VEHICLE IS OPERATING AS DESIGNED.

ON 7.9.2019 CAR WAS IN ECO MODE. WENT DOWN HILL, STOPPED AT LIGHT TO TURN RIGHT. CAR TURNED OFF AS SHOULD BUT WOULD NOT COME BACK ON. ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED AS, NO POWER TO CAR AS WAS TRYING TO PULL OFF TO SIDE OF ROAD, ALMOST HIT GUARDRAIL BECAUSE COULD NOT TURN WHEEL EASILY AS NO POWER STEERING. CAR WAS IN DRIVE STILL. HAD TO TRY AND GET OUT OF THE WAY BEFORE I COULD ATTEMPT TO RESTART. HAD TO PUT IN PARK AND START ENGINE AGAIN. VERY DANGEROUS. THE ECO ON/OFF DOES NOT ALWAYS GO OFF WHEN IT SHOULD EVEN THOUGH IT IS TURNED ON. SAME DAY, SAME ROUTE. STOPPED AT STOP SIGNS OR RED LIGHTS AND SOMETIMES SHUTS CAR OFF AND SOMETIMES DOES NOT.

THE CAR SHUTS DOWN AS I WAS DRIVING. THIS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING AND AFTER STOPPING AT STOP SIGNS/ RED LIGHTS. THE CAR TURNS OFF. I MUST TURN ON THE CAR AND AND PUT IT BACK INTO DRIVE MODE TO DRIVE.

ENGINE ABRUPTLY LOSES POWER WHEN DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS IN BOTH CITY AND HIGHWAY CONDITIONS CAUSING POTENTIAL INJURY AND/OR DEATH TO DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS. JAGUAR/LAND ROVER IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND CONTINUES TO SELL VEHICLES AFFECTED BY THIS CONDITION. JAGUAR/LAND ROVER HAS BEEN WORKING ON A SOFTWARE FIX (P0190 SOFTWARE PATCH) FOR MONTHS, BUT HAS NOT NOTIFIED DRIVERS OF THIS POTENTIALLY SERIOUS CONDITION.
