It’s not even an year I bought a 2022 Hyundai Tucson SEL (Convenience Package). I started getting couple of issues. 1. I noticed that Gears aren’t shifting smoothly and always ends whining between gear shifts. 2. Soundsystem started giving trouble since a week with unclear/distortion noises while playing music. I tried connecting via cable/bluetooth and changed to FM/USB but still the same. Worst experience for me. I hope Hyundai will help me by fixing the car.

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The engine will not start despite having the key fob with live battery on my person. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I was stranded 3 times in a week in dark public parking lots with limited cell reception. I had to abandon the vehicle to get to a warm, safe location, and as a single woman, did not feel comfortable staying with the car while other cars were loitering at night. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The car has been with the dealer for 6 days now and they have not been able to replicate the issue and it has happened to me 3 times in one week. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason why the car won't start. After a few hours, the alarm sometimes goes off, and the system resets, allowing me to restart the car. Given this car has a push button start ignition, there is no mechanical way to crank the ignition to start the car, so I am left with no recourse. The last time this happened, I had it towed to the dealership because even after waiting 3 hours, the system did not restart and I had no recourse.

I purchased the vehicle 3/31/2022, & it left with recalls. I brought it BacK with 48hr, as the check engine light turn on, also the tires, dashboard, and overall the screen. Its been left at the dealer and no results. Also it has affected my life as a disabled handicap person as I'm unable to get to and from doctor appointment etc including to transport my scooter or wheel chair. its a nightmare. I came to purchase a car and was given a "lemon". with only 12miles purchased. I was directed by finance department to proceed with this matter for a resolution as we resolve this matter. The vehicle has been a problematic problem from the start. Definitely not standing firm on the customer Hyundai core value & warranty. The car is at the dealer and I'm temporally with a loaner on which I need to know all my option before we proceed. This is a very serious matter on which Hyundai is fully aware & infant they directed me to this process. My life was at risk as I was told to keep a car that is unreliable with a donut tire without repair. I felt as if I could've die if something was to happen to me within a week until service still count fix the tires as I was placed in jeopardy of my life & kids during Labor Day weekend.. Driving an unsafe vehicle. I was in concern since day 1!

My wife was driving on the parkway north in New Jersey at approximately 65 miles an hour at about 3:45 pm. The car began to lose power, was shaking, and sputtering. Luckily, she was able to pull onto the shoulder and did not get hit by another car or truck. Once she pulled over, she let the car rest for about 10 minutes and started it up again. It hesitated, but started. Once she put it in gear, it stalled. she tried this two other times and it stalled each time. she waited for a tow truck and the care was towed to the dealer. The dealer invoice with repairs is attached.

Purchased vehicle new at dealership with less than 20 miles on it. No aftermarket parts, no accidents or issues. Normal daily conditions, and constant logging on fueleconomy.gov. 08/17/2022 at 8:15 am: Driving 45-55 mph on major freeway with a low/moderate traffic. Roughly 5 miles from home, good road conditions and good weather. Suddenly, Automatic Emergency Braking System engaged (and related cluster lights/alarms displayed on dash). There was NOT a vehicle in front of me, and nearest vehicle in front was roughly 150 ft. away. Emergency brakes engaged so forcefully that I was unable to keep my vehicle moving forward, and vehicle came to a complete stop in the left lane of major freeway. My vehicle instantly turned off (or "died") with the radio still playing, but nothing else on. Had to place the vehicle in park, push the start button, and place the vehicle in drive, in order to continue. Obviously very unexpected. Vehicle behind me had to slam on their brakes (tires squealed) and narrowly avoided hitting my vehicle by about 36-48 inches. I'm unsure how they managed to avoid not hitting me. Unfortunately, the vehicle behind that car could NOT avoid the maneuver, and hit the vehicle that was directly behind me. I do not know if the other vehicle had injured individuals, as I was trying to get out of the left lanes of the 5-lane freeway, coming from a complete stop. Essentially, my vehicle caused someone to hit the vehicle that was directly behind me. I placed my hazard light

Bought this car 11/22/21. The car just stopped in the middle of the road and won't run. This happened twice on 7/31/22 and 8/17/22. Dealer said on the first incident something fired or something but engine is okay. I am awaiting for the diagnosis of this second incident. For a new car, this shouldn't happen. I could have been rear ended today 8/17/22 if the car behind me came in a little faster and if I drove in the freeway. This is a safety issue. I want this car to be recalled before something very bad happens. You can recall a car but you cannot recall a lost of life.

Hello, I am writing because I have experienced mechanical issues with my car since I purchased the automobile. Since I bought the car, I began having problems with the electrical components, the automatic emergency brake engaging while driving, and the chassis. The emergency brake has engaged while driving numerous times and has consistently been unpredictable since I've owned the car. In addition, the car's handling and suspension have been problematic since purchasing the vehicle. The car has driven poorly, with many vibrations and feeling extra loose throughout my owning the car. I received a diagnostic code via my Hyundai app indicating issues related to the chassis. I have contacted Hyundai on far too many instances regarding these problems and have not gotten any resolution. I've expressed my concerns about feeling that the car was unsafe for myself and other drivers on the road. However, Hyundai has still been unresponsive, as indicated by numerous open case files where there was no followthrough. Last week, I was in a car accident with a bus. I believe the accident occurred because of the above-stated problem. Specifically, when the emergency brake unexpectantly engages as it did right before the accident. The car is now at the Hyundai dealership. A representative from the dealership contacted me about my concerns as if the car's problems were new and they were not aware of them. These problems have caused me to experience high-stress levels because of the car's unpre

When turning left or accelerating from 20 mph there is a really bad hesitation. The car has a hard time accelerating. It didn’t have this problem when we bought it. This poses a safety issue because you really have to give your self a lot of space or you will get hit for not accelerating. Every other time the car is quick and responsive.

Safety Issue 2022 Hyundai Tucson: All cars I have previously owned had a safety feature that alerted me through a continuous dinging or beeping sound immediately if a door was left open and the car was put into gear. I unknowingly became reliant on this feature because I have young children that sit in the back seat. If I did not see that a door was open, the car would alert me through sound before I could drive off with a door open. The Hyundai Tucson only has this safety feature for the driver’s door, but not for the passenger door, rear doors or lift gate. While the small screen in front of the steering wheel shows a visual that a door is open, an alert beeping sound does not happen. The incident: My two children got into the back seat and I was already in the car. I thought I heard both doors shut but I did not turn around to check. I put the car into reverse and immediately looked at the backup monitor and did not look at the screen behind the steering wheel. There were no indications on the back up monitor or any audio alerts to indicate anything was wrong. I slowly backed up at 1 to 2 mph just taking my foot off the brake to exit my garage. Then the car was jolted to a stop and I put on the brake. When I looked behind me, I saw the driver’s side rear door was jammed into the side of the garage because my son had not closed the car door all the way. The door frame was slightly bent and about 6 inches of metal bent inward almost an inch by the latch so it could not shut.

Researching the issue seems to have uncovered an existing problem with Hyundais that the manufacturer has not taken responsibility for yet. Seems like the government should get involved.

On May 27, 2022 I started my car in the parking garage at work. The engine stuttered slightly but recovered. After I left the garage and accelerated I found that the car would not rev past 3000 rpm. At 3000 rpm the car began to lose power. It would recover when you backed off of the accelerator. This issue continue for the 27 mile trip from work to home. I restarted the car once I reached home and it was okay. I have tried to recreate the issue and it has not happened again. I took the car in for service and Hyundai dealership could not find any issue or recreate the problem. I am attaching the service invoice. I did find other 2022 Hyundai Tucson owners reporting the same issue in online forums so thought it best to provide info to both the NHTSA and Hyundai USA.

I have owned the car for 5 months. But have had the ability to drive it for four and a half of them. This vehicle has put me and my family at serious risk multiple time. The first incident my car would not accelerate when I drove onto the highway and it would constantly stutter when I would attempt to accelerate again causing a truck to almost rear end us. The following day my vehicle had a hot engine temp. I pulled over on the highway to an empty antifreeze tank. Refilled it multiple times to only have it empty out and completely shut off while we were driving! Took it to the dealership where it took them 2 weeks to return it. When I asked what the problem was they said they don't know they just replaced it. 3 weeks later ( 5/28/22) while driving back from an event the car starts making a clunking sound and shuts off on me 3 times on my way home with my 9 and 7 year old in the back. Thank goodness it wasn't on the highway! It's now 6/1/22 and I still haven't heard anything about my vehicle! This death box has put my family at risk 5 times. I would strongly advise against buying it! The manufacturer could care less. Luckily the lemon law protects them against people who's lives are constantly put at risk while driving there vehicle!

On 3/8/22 between 5:10 pm ET and 5:45 PM ET, I was traveling to a destination with a friend following behind me in her vehicle. Later, when it was dark, we traveled back to our homes. She followed me again until the location that we parted to head in different directions. After arriving home, she messaged me to state that my "tail lights kept going on and off the whole way" to our destination. She also stated "They were fine on the way home though in the dark". I'm unsure if my vehicle was part of the 12 vehicles recalled for lighting issues/reflashing, but if it is, it didn't work, or if it wasn't, the recall may not have covered everything.

The car will accelerate, but not beyond a speed of 20 - 30 MPH. The issue is intermittent, one happens in January 2022 and another one happens in Feb 2022. The issue happens after parking overnight, and the issue will go away after restarting the car. No-fault light shows up. The problem has not been reproduced by a dealer since it is intermittent. The issue is reported to the manufacturer, but no actions from the manufacturer have been taken. The issue does pose a safety risk to me and other road traffics since the problem may happen anytime on driving.

At highway speed engine began stumbling and shaking car and stalled the car within 5 seconds bring car to halt. Engine would not restart properly, would not settle at idle rpm with rapidly inconsistent rpm shaking the car and then stall within 5 seconds. Any attempt to place car in drive immediately stalls car. After attempting 50-60 bump starts to get car off road the check engine light and error message about engine control system error eventually showed. Hyundai towing refused to take inoperable car to dealership for warranty repair of 1000mi car, instead left it at our apt parking lot. The engine failure left the driver and other motorists in danger as unable to move stranded car off 50mph busy main road on cold dark snowy evening. Dealer reports they are “swamped” with repairs and cannot see an inoperable car for at least 2-3 weeks and no loaners or rental could be provided. There were no warning lights or warning during initial stall or subsequent restarts. Error message and check engine light did not light until attempting 50-60 bump starts trying to get car off road and a hazard to occupants and other motorists.

The headlights on the 2022 Hyundai Tucson are a road safety hazard and should be outlawed from US roadways. Turning on the headlights creates a dark shadow covering over half of the windshield from top to bottom with a triangle at the bottom of shadow at each end. The triangles can be seen on each headlight lens. Driving the Tucson at night is like wearing a pair of dark sunglasses. The bottom of the shadow moves with every movement of the vehicle which is distracting hazardous, hypnotizing and not safe. If I would have driven this vehicle at night, I would not have purchased it.

I purchased my Hyundai Tuscon Limited Saturday 10/30/21 and during the day its perfect at night the headlights produce a black shawdow on the driver side headlight. I am now nervous to drive my vehicle at night due to causing an accident. The visibility in the road from the blind spot has mimicked something black crossing the road and slammed my breaks on thinking I was going to hit an animal or something. Wireless Apple Carplay disconnects randomly causing loss of onscreen maps and turn by turn directions. Hands free phone calls are also dropped. This creates a very dangerous, not to mention annoying situation when driving in busy traffic and depending on the map guidance. It has caused me to take my attention off the road trying to get the system to reconnect so I do not miss an exit or turn. Many others with the same make/model vehicle are complaining of this same defect on the internet. Today it happened 20-30 times on a 3hr trip. Most times it reconnects on its own after a some time. Sometimes I have to manually hard reboot the infotainment system to get it back. I have been to the dealer and have called Hyundai care. No one seems to know what the issue is. They just kind of give me the runaround. The dealer admitted there is a problem but had no solution. Carplay is supposed to make driving safer by putting your phone GPS etc on the car screen for safe hands free operation. These disconnects are going to get someone killed.

I was driving on the highway and as I was slowing down for the slower traffic ahead the car started jerking and then the gas pedal wouldn’t cause the car to accelerate. I had to cross several lanes of traffic not being able to accelerate to get to the breakdown lane but could not get all the way off the highway. I believe that the issue was with the engine or brakes. There was a smell of burning in the car so I turned off the engine as soon as I got over as far as possible. I was afraid to try to turn on the engine because is smelled like something was burning. I had to sit partially in the highway with cars speeding by rushing to get out of my lane to avoid crashing into me while I called emergency service. The car was towed to the nearest dealership and I am awaiting the results of the inspection results from the dealership. There were no warnings or lights that I noticed prior to this incident.

Dear all, I bought the 2022 Hyundai Tusan SUV on June 16th, 2021. Since then, the car engine has been turn off more than 20 times, causing problems that require restarting. When I stop at the traffic light while driving and start, the car will turn off and I have to take off my car key and wait in 30 seconds and turn on the car again. Nowadays, The brakes were not applied because the engine was turned off while driving. At that time, my driving speed was around 15mph because I exited from a HWY. I think the engine issue is occurred when the engine rpm is low. I took a video of the engine turn off issue. Thank you,

Nothing happened...yet. Has the NHTSA noticed how several new Hyundai vehicles, as well as a few Infiniti and Toyota vehicles, have turn signals mounted on the rear bumper? This is ridiculous and should be UNACCEPTABLE. There's absolutely no reason turn signals and reverse lamps can't be mounted where the stop and tail lamps are mounted. It's nearly impossible to see turn signals on the bumper. PLEASE CONSIDER A HEIGHT MANDATE FOR REAR TURN SIGNALS AND REVERSE LAMPS. And, if possible, also consider a mandate for *bright* side repeater signals, amber rear signals, and a height requirement for front signals as well. It's about time that North America joined the rest of the world in these mandates. Thank you!!!
