2020 Hyundai Palisade, VIN: [XXX] . Excessive engine oil consumption beginning at ~95,418 miles. Oil drops to critical levels between oil changes, causing engine hesitation, rough running, and Check Engine Light activation — CEL clears only after oil is manually added, confirming oil starvation as the cause. SAFETY RISKS: Engine seizure or stall at highway speed; engine fire from oil burning on hot components; sudden loss of vehicle control; CEL only illuminates after oil is already critical, leaving no safe warning window. DEALER: Vehicle brought to dealership in [XXX] on 8/25/25 (95,451 mi) and Barnes Crossing Hyundai, [XXX] on 4/22/26 (99,969 mi). RO# XXX/1. HMA Case# XXX. Both dealers confirmed abnormal oil consumption. MANUFACTURER RESPONSE: Hyundai Motor America denied all repair or engine replacement solely because the title was transferred from a family member. Hyundai's own XXX (Dec. 2023) acknowledges systemic oil consumption across all Hyundai gasoline engines and mandates a repair protocol including engine replacement. A title transfer does not cause a mechanical defect and Hyundai failed to apply its own TSB procedures before denial. REQUESTED ACTION: Investigate HMA's pattern of denying TXXX remedies after title transfers; compel engine repair/replacement at no cost; evaluate safety recall eligibility. It is burning much more oil per 1000 miles than the Hyundai website says is normal. It has kept burning oil at a very high and abnormal rate. To the point of having to carry oil while driving. Nothing happened to make this start, it just began!
The contact owns a 2020 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that he initially began to notice that his engine would consume oil at a rapid pace. As the failure persisted, the vehicle would shudder upon depression of the accelerator pedal as the check engine light appeared on the instrument panel. In addition, the contact stated that white smoke would emit from the exhaust pipe. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the spark plugs were replaced on two separate occasions due to carbon build up. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer where it remained in their possession for three months before the contact was informed that they were performing an oil consumption test. The contact was advised to bring the vehicle back at 1,000 to continue the oil test. After 1,000, the contact was informed that the engine showed no sign of excessive oil consumption. The contact then stated that while driving at 35 MPH, the vehicle shut off without warning as the contact managed to coast the vehicle into a nearby parking lot. The contact attempt to restart the vehicle; however, the engine failed to start. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to his independent mechanic where they diagnosed the vehicle with engine failure. The vehicle was then towed to another dealer(Diehl Hyundai of Sharon-1251 E State St, Sharon, PA 16146) where the vehicle remained in their possession for two months were they replaced the engine and vehicle starter. Upon return of vehicle while driving a
I recently purchased this vehicle, and shortly after, it began having serious powertrain issues. When I accelerate, the vehicle intermittently loses power and starts shaking violently. It feels like the engine or transmission is slipping or failing. The RPMs surge and drop rapidly, and the vehicle hesitates, jerks, and sometimes briefly slows down before suddenly accelerating again. This creates an unsafe and unpredictable driving condition, especially when merging or driving in traffic. I’m concerned about a loss of propulsion while the vehicle is in motion. My mechanic indicated the issue may involve the torque converter clutch not engaging properly (possible “stuck off” or circuit performance issue), which would explain the shuddering and inconsistent power transfer. Despite how severe this is, there are no warning lights or check engine light, and no diagnostic codes, which raises concern that the failure is not being detected by the vehicle’s onboard systems. I am also experiencing low and fluctuating engine oil levels even after topping it off and a recent oil change, which may indicate an additional engine-related defect. The vehicle has a clean title and no accident history. - Failed system: Powertrain (engine/transmission), suspected torque converter clutch malfunction. Vehicle is available for inspection. - Safety risk: Intermittent loss of power, hesitation, and surging creates a high risk of collision, especially in traffic or at highway speeds. - Confirmation: My
Component: Engine My 2020 Hyundai Palisade (approximately 155,856 miles) experienced a serious and dangerous engine-related failure that resulted in a vehicle fire. My 16 year old daughter was driving alone at the time of the catastrophic failure and fire. For approximately six months prior to the incident, the vehicle was consuming oil at an abnormal rate with no visible external leaks. This condition persisted without clear cause. While driving, the vehicle suddenly developed a new oil leak, and the engine failed without warning, leaving me stranded on the roadway. Immediately following the failure, the engine compartment caught fire. There were no prior indications of an active oil leak before this sudden failure. The progression from oil consumption to catastrophic failure and fire presents a serious safety concern. This incident created a dangerous situation with risk of injury or worse, and it appears to be more than normal wear and tear. I am reporting this as a potential safety defect involving engine failure and fire risk. Mileage at time of incident: approximately 155,856 miles No prior accident or external cause contributed to the fire.

High engine oil consumption. Had oil changed 2/2/26 and almost got killed 4/29/26due to low oil. Car stalled crossing busy highway and barely made it to resting stop. Was able to restart car and took to mechanic and no oil showing on dipstick. They changed and I researched and see where others have concern about high oil use on hyuandai palisade and no warning light to alert driver evidently the warning light only comes on when too late and damage done. Low oil will cause stall out which is what happened to me today. Thankfully my guardian angel protected me and let me get across highway w incoming traffic at 75 mph

Excessive oil consumption - Hyundai is refusing to issue a recall even tho there was a class action lawsuit
2020 palisades oil was changed ON TIME by my husband and at valvoline but has had extreme oil consumption after hitting around 90,000 and before oil change was due my engine is now ticking and is essentially blown.
My 2020 Hyundai Palisade has an excessive and dangerous oil consumption defect. The vehicle consumes approximately 3/4 of a quart of oil every 1,000 miles. At a standard 8,000-mile oil change interval, the engine loses more oil than it holds between services. At approximately 185,000 miles, my vehicle stalled on the interstate with my family inside the vehicle. Upon inspection, the engine was critically low on oil. I added 5 quarts of oil to restore proper level. Critically, at NO point prior to the stall did the low oil pressure warning light illuminate. The vehicle's oil warning system completely failed to alert me that the engine was dangerously low on oil. This is a dual failure: the engine is consuming oil at an excessive and unsafe rate, and the warning system designed to protect the driver failed to activate when the engine was in a critical state. I have reported this issue to my dealership and filed a formal complaint with Hyundai Motor America. Neither has resulted in a meaningful resolution. Hyundai's internal "acceptable" oil consumption threshold of 1 quart per 1,000 miles is significantly outside mainstream industry standards set by other major manufacturers and appears designed to deny warranty claims rather than protect consumers. This defect poses a direct and serious safety risk. A vehicle stalling on the interstate due to oil starvation, with no warning to the driver, is a life-threatening failure. I am requesting that NHTSA open a formal investigation into
I opened a case with Hyundai corporate due to the safety recalls, one being the second row seat belts and now the ejection recall for the third row passenger. I was told to use caution only to my request of a loaner or rental reimbursement. Hyundai is NOT honoring rental reimbursements as they submitted.
I feel that this is a huge safety issue as I have 3 grandchildren that I watch everyday and have to have 2 of them in the 3rd row and 1 in the middle section, I love this vehicle but know I am afraid to drive it when I have them. This should be fixed immediately. Every day that there is not a fix is a day that I am putting my grand children's life in danger
The contact owns a 2020 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that the front camera was reportedly installed incorrectly, causing the automatic emergency braking system to engage unexpectedly, almost causing several crashes. Additionally, the windshield wiper motor became inoperable, and there was a fluid leak coming from the wiper system that migrated into the transmission, causing a mechanical failure with the gearbox. The rear seat belts also failed to buckle securely and were frequently unlatched while children were inside the vehicle. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 26V034000 (Air Bags), 25V607000 (Seat Belts), and 22V627000 (Visibility); however, the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V627000 (Visibility). The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 90,000.
While traveling to Abilene Tx to see my doctor my check engine light came on. I pulled into the Hyundai dealership and ask the service advisor to plug into my vehicle and let me know what was going on. After he talked to his service manager he advised me that they "where to busy" and the earliest they could get me in would be the next Monday. This was Wednesday. My home is 100 miles from Abilene. I asked if he thought it would be alright and he said sure. I barely made it back to Big Spring before it started clinking and cluttering. It sound horrible. My son said it sounded like it through a rod. He checked the oil and said that I had low oil however my low oil light did not come on. I notified the dealership and was advised that I had to have it towed back to the shop in Abilene which I did. After a week passed I was in Abilene and stopped to check on my vehicle. Needless to say my repairs are in excess of 20K. New engine etc. and rear suspension is out also. After researching I have found I'm not the only owner with these problems. There are numerous complaints about these problems with the Palisade. This is a danger to all who own this vehicle. Fires, accidents and no telling what can affect us. All these vehicles need to be recalled because of the engine that was placed in these vehicles. The engine is eating oil fast. My oil changes were on time. Hyundai and the dealership are unwilling to offer any help in repairing my vehicle. The parts on the suspension are sub standa

Here’s a more professional, structured version of your complaint while still clearly conveying the seriousness of the situation: ⸻ I am writing to formally express my concern regarding a 2020 Hyundai Palisade that I purchased from a dealership less than one year ago, along with an extended warranty. Since the time of purchase, the vehicle has experienced ongoing and significant oil consumption issues. In fact, it has spent a substantial amount of time in the repair shop—arguably more time than it has been in my possession. Despite these repeated service visits, the problem has not been resolved. The vehicle is currently consuming more than 1.5 quarts of oil per 1,000 miles, which is well beyond what would be considered normal. I have completed an official oil consumption test to document this issue. Notably, these problems began prior to even the first oil change after purchase, indicating that the condition likely existed at the time of sale. Despite the documented issue, both Hyundai Motor Company and the extended warranty provider have denied coverage for repairs. As a result, I am left with a vehicle that has a serious mechanical defect and a high risk of engine failure. I invested approximately $29,000 in this vehicle, and I am now facing the prospect of catastrophic engine damage due to a known issue that has been widely reported with similar vehicles. This situation is extremely concerning and has left me feeling misled and unfairly treated. I am seeking a fair resolut

Have attempted recall repairs 2 times. Was told I needed to reschedule since parts not available. I brought my vehicle in for repair 3/30/2026 @ 8:20. After noticing my car in back parking lot that did not move from at least 8:50am to 10:10am, I asked service representative what was happening. I was told I need to bring back at a later date when seatbelt parts are in. This process would take 4 hours. I made them aware that my front passenger seatbelt comes undone often.

2020 Hyundai Palisade , burning through quarts of oil at an unusual rate. No oil leaks can be found. SUV is only driven around town. No long mileage trips, no out of state trips exc. This is an extreme problem that should be looked into for this year make a model. I thought Hyundai was going to be my forever go to. Unfortunately after all the issues I’m experiencing, never again will I get a vehicle that’s a Hyundai brand.
Last year while traveling on vacation, my family was on the interstate crusing at approximately 70 MPH when the Hyundai Palisade suddenly started shaking and slowing down. It was shaking so bad, I ended up having to turn on my flashers because the vehicle would not accelerate up hill while pressing on the gas pedal. Thankfully, I was able to exit the highway and located a Hyundai dealership about 15 miles away in Jasper, AL. The dealership service department was very nice and indicated my engine oil was low. I could not figure out why this happened because we have always changed the oil at recommended intervals but once the dealership changed the oil, the check engine light turned off and we were able to proceed on our trip. Last night, we were traveling from [XXX] international airport back to [XXX] and the same pattern started all over again. After conducting some internet research based on the 2020 Palisade SEL, it appears this is a common issue for vehicles just under 100k miles. The reason I am reporting this is because Hyundai Corporate should do the right thing in this situation, by offering to replace the engine since I am within the 100k mile powertrain warranty period. I plan to take the vehicle to my local dealership today becuase there are two outstanding recalls, one of which is considered more serious due to a seatbelt latch. We waited over a month to schedule this service and the local dealership cancelled our appointment and didnt even offer to contact us to t
I am filing a formal safety complaint regarding my 2020 Hyundai Palisade due to severe and ongoing engine oil consumption that presents a safety risk, combined with an active federal airbag safety recall. For approximately one year, my vehicle has been consuming excessive engine oil. Approximately 1,500–2,000 miles after an oil change, the vehicle becomes dangerously low on oil. On January 19, 2026, at 171,650 miles, the dealership initiated Hyundai’s official oil consumption test. At intake, the engine oil level was so low that nothing was visible on the dipstick. The dealership confirmed no external oil leaks were present and began the manufacturer’s oil consumption protocol. After driving approximately 1,000 miles, I returned on February 2, 2026, at 172,657 miles. The inspection showed the engine was 2.6 quarts low. The dealership stated combustion chamber cleaning was needed; however, Hyundai denied the repair based solely on mileage and the vehicle being out of warranty. This level of oil consumption presents a serious safety concern. Driving with critically low oil can cause sudden engine failure, stalling, or loss of power while traveling at highway speeds. This could create a crash hazard without warning. Additionally, my vehicle is subject to NHTSA Recall #26V034000 (Recall #292 – Ejection Mitigation), involving potential failure of the side curtain airbags for third-row passengers to deploy properly in certain crash scenarios. The remedy is not yet available. The co
The system does not alert me if someone is sitting in 3rd row without seatbelt. No one has been injured, but i noticed it in January 2026. Not sure how long it has been happening.
Since about 90,000 miles I have noticed a shudder from my transmission. It has progressed and having transmission issues. I have had regular maintenance done on my car and have even replaced the transmission fluid twice and the shudder is continuing to happen. I have looked at forums and all the things and seems to be a common theme amongst their transmission style.
1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? "The tempered glass panel of the panoramic sunroof spontaneously shattered while the vehicle was in motion. The glass exploded outward with a loud report similar to a gunshot. Yes, the vehicle and the remaining glass fragments are available for inspection upon request 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The sudden, explosive noise caused an immediate distraction and startle response while traveling at highway speeds (approx. 70 mph), creating a high risk of a collision. Furthermore, glass shards fell into the cabin onto the driver and passengers, posing a risk of lacerations and eye injuries. Shards also blew out onto the interstate, creating a road hazard for following vehicles. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Not yet. The vehicle is currently being scheduled for inspection 4. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? "No warning lamps or messages appeared. There were no prior symptoms of glass stress, such as cracking or creaking. The failure was instantaneous and spontaneous with no prior indication of a defect."
The engine burns 1 quart per 1000 miles of driving
Vehicle is consuming or burning oil at a high rate. While dealer has done an oil consumption test and claimed it was "within tolerance," I have on multiple occasions had the car start to shudder at 2,000 miles since last oil change only to find the oil wasn't even on the stick anymore. The symptoms go away when adding oil, on some occasions more than 4 quarts of oil need to be added to get the oil to "full" on the dip stick. Multiple independent service centers have noted how dirty the oil is and how little is drained on oil change. No warning lights have come on at any time, even when car is making grinding noises and shuddering with no oil. This causes a safety issue as drivers reasonably expect to go at least 3,000 miles between oil changes and the engine could seize in traffic. Owners are being tacitly asked to add oil regularly to keep the engine functioning properly.
I own a 2020 Hyundai Palisade. The vehicle began jerking while driving, particularly during acceleration and shifting, prior to reaching 100,000 miles. Over time the issue worsened, and the vehicle started failing to accelerate properly when pressing the gas pedal. There have been significant hesitations before the vehicle would move forward. This creates a serious safety concern, especially when merging into traffic or turning at intersections. The condition appears to be related to the transmission. The symptoms began while the vehicle was still under the powertrain warranty period. I am concerned this may represent a broader transmission defect affecting other vehicles of the same model.
The contact owns a 2020 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of oil. There was an oil-burning odor coming from the vehicle. There was a misfire coming from the engine before the vehicle stalled. The Auto START/STOP was activated while driving. The feature was turned off, but quickly reactivated. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000.
I am reporting a safety concern involving repeated engine stalling while driving my 2020 Hyundai Palisade. The vehicle has stalled a total of seven times during normal operation. Most of the incidents occurred while slowing down or stopped at intersections and traffic lights. In these situations, the engine suddenly shut off without warning. I was forced to immediately shift the vehicle into park and restart the engine to continue driving. The check engine light did illuminate in connection with this issue. These incidents create a serious safety hazard, as sudden engine shutdown in active traffic increases the risk of rear-end collision. The loss of engine power occurs unexpectedly and without sufficient warning. The vehicle has been inspected, and I was informed that the issue may involve internal engine malfunction requiring major repairs. Because this vehicle has experienced multiple unexpected stalls in traffic, I am submitting this complaint due to the significant safety risk posed by sudden engine failure during operation.
We scheduled in advance and confirmed recalls to have seatbelts recall serviced. Lost the entire day waiting for the service department to tell me they did not have the parts. The recall was mishandled and communication was kept to a minimum regarding the service noone knew about not having parts until the end of the day, which was 7 hours after our scheduled visit. A full day of work was lost and we are risking our child in a car seat on one of the affected seats. .the air bag recall also affects our means of transportation as we are risking travel each day. The dealership has not been helpful.
The contact owns a 2020 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the second-row seats were inoperable. The contact also stated that the second-row seat belts failed to function properly, and the seat belt buckles failed to latch securely. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 26V034000 (Air Bags) and 25V607000 (Seat Belts); however, parts for the recall repairs were not yet available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
August 2025: While driving down the road and approaching a light, I slowed down to turn and make a left. As I braked, all lights on the instrument panel lit up and the car completely turned off. After several attempts to start the car again, the car started. After taking it to a shop, it was determined that the car had consumed all oil, despite being within the recommended milage range for oil change. I filed a complaint with Hyundai, who emailed me to talk to my local dealership. I responded and have yet to receive a response to my communication, as of February 20, 2026. Hyundai dealership has told me that I need to fail three oil consumption tests (I have), complete a combustion cleaning (it has recently been completed), and fail one more consumption test before they can submit to corporate for a new engine. In the meantime, I have experienced my car shaking, the smell of burning oil, my car "jolting" forward while driving at sustained speeds, and a tailpipe that is completely black with 67,800 miles currently on the car.
Engine is consuming alot of oil i have to put a quart every week and it has a smell of burning near the engine and white smoke at the back tail pipe.
Engine is sucking the life out of this vehicle meaning it is consuming more than normal oil. Oil consumption, I had the testing done. and Hyundai has done nothing about fixing the issues Well I am the second owner of this vehicle and it should be laws in place for the second owners of a vehicle. The first owner was keeping up on the maintenance of the vehicle so have I. I also have white smoke coming from the tailpipe. as well as stalling and stopping. I am still making payments on this vehicle and it is not far that I have to constantly get oil changes every month or sometimes twice a month seems like it. That is a lot of spending for something that should not be. It is so many people out there going through the same issues. It is a few Facebook group pages made behind this. It's truly sad that Hyundai will not fix this problem. What are we to do? Please Help.
While idling at a traffic light on a busy city street all of the warning lights on the car went off and the car shut off on its own.
Burns oil and I have to change it every 3K-5K miles. I add oil throughout to keep it topped off, but by around 5K miles it’s nearly black. It would be completely dry by 10K miles. Yesterday I noticed an oil drip from what I assume is a faulty gasket, which is new.
On December, 2025 I received notification from Hyundai de Puerto Rico (Sojitz de Puerto Rico Corporation) informing about the Hyundai Recall Number 283 (NHTSA Recall Number 25V-607) regarding the seat belt buckle assemblies problem (See attached notification document). On January 27, 2026 I took my Hyundai Palisade 2020 to the programed appointment at Hyundai de Cupey, Ave. Ponce de León, #1385, San Juan, PR 00926 for the inspection and replacements of my seat belts buckle assemblies. For my surprise, the service advisor Ms. Adleni Vazquez informed me that there was no such recall and that they were proceeding with an extended warranty on the vehicle seat belt assembly system. She also told me that they would only act during that warranty extension period if I could prove a malfunction of the seat belt buckle assemblies. I showed the safety recall notification letter and the action required to the service advisor, but still they denied the inspection of seat belt buckle assemblies. The advisor showed me the Hyundai de Puerto Rico instruction regarding the matter which is only to provide an extended warranty. (See attached document). My vehicle was just serviced for an ECU upgrade of the emission system which I was told was the only recall pending (See attached Service job document). Do I or my passengers need to be involved in an accident and suffer injuries or even death because my vehicle was one with the faulty buckle assemblies before I can make a claim and be provided wi
The vehicle continues to feel very bumpy when we drive. Even if I stand in the 2nd row and press up and down, it makes a squeaky, sometimes loud rattling / knocking sound. I have taken this to the dealer multiple times and they tired to tighten shock absorbers and the padding around it but the problem hasn't gone. They ask me to leave the car with them without getting a loaner which is hard to do as we need the car. They have made it hard to get the problem solved, not taking ownership and have denied any issue with the suspension despite multiple complaints by consumers in online forums and what i have personally experienced.
2020 Hyundai Palisade bought new with extended warranty that was supposed to "cover everything". The plastic items on the vehicle started failing with sun damage & the paint on the lift gate & roof started failing in 2023. The plastic items failing are the both driver/passenger rear view mirrors, the rear lift gate spoiler that houses one of the brake lights, the black trim on each side of the spoiler, the paint on the rear lift gate & paint on the roof including around the moon roofs. I brought it to the attention of the dealership I go to each time I brought it in for service or other warranty issues. I feel like I was blown off & not taken seriously. When they finally found & pull up my extended warranty to look at what it covered & inspected the sun damage/defect On June 27, 2025 they told me the manufacturer's warranty expired & it was not covered under my extended warranty. I voiced my frustration, saying they knew about this issue for about a year & when it possibly could have been under the warranty but not it is not. I asked how I can escalate this & they gave my the consumer affairs phone # for Hyundai. I contacted them, case#[XXX], and at their request I went to a dealership for them to inspect the damage/defect. I was later told the same thing, it is out of warranty. After researching my issue, I have discovered this vehicle has a recall for this exact issue, but for different paint colors. Just not my SUVs color blue. Seeing how this damage happened in such a sho
I purchased a new 2020 Hyundai Palisade SEL. When I only had 47,683 miles I had my rear shocks replaced for the third time. Poor handling, and noise when the shocks fail. The shocks needing replaced was confirmed by the dealer service department. No warning lamps or messages were displayed.
I have a seatbelt recall and the parts are still in back order. I don’t feel safe driving my car since my seat belt did come in clapped while driving
Dear NHTSA, I'm reporting a serious safety issue with my 2020 Hyundai Palisade (3.8L V6) involving excessive oil consumption without low-oil warning lights. Timeline: Oil changed: August 13, 2025 → Engine stalling/rough idle → Checked Oct 27, 2025: completely out of oil Oil changed again: October 27, 2025 → Same symptoms recur → January 16, 2026: completely out of oil again Usage: ~300 miles/week (1,200 miles/4 months) using full synthetic 5W-30—far below Hyundai's 7,500-10,000 mile interval. Safety Risk: No low oil warning despite total depletion x2, risking catastrophic engine failure while driving. Known Lambda II V6 issue per TSB 20-01-0001. Request: Investigation into oil consumption recall and sensor failure.
The GDI v6 motor that’s in it shudders and rattles when at idle. There’s metallic shavings and gas smell on the dipstick. It’s always low on oil and smokes a little at idle aswell. It’s completely ran out of oil and been to the shop 3x so far in a years time. Add oil to it every 2-3 weeks at this point ,It’s not leaking oil it’s definitely burning it. Once the dealership even had to come tow it to the shop the car shut off in the middle of the road and then again in the driveway as my wife was trying to turn into the driveway she lost all power and steering she ended up in the middle of the front yard, thank god she was just getting home at the time of the incident. I’ve heard of the same engine giving problems and having an open recall for similar issues pertaining to a bearing and or rings being damaged or broken allowing for the oil to be dripping or being burnt. The vehicle is a family vehicle and gets driven daily by my wife to and from the kids school and the grocery store it’s not driven hard or for very long periods of time. I would like to know if there’s anything that could be done about this issue. I’ve looked to see if the recall was open for this model palisade but it only shows for the Santife models even though it’s the same engine. The shop and dealers always tell me it’s nothing and just keep up with oil changes but that’s near impossible when it runs out of oil before the next oil change is due.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
