2025 Honda Prologue

Defect. American Honda Motor Company (Honda) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Honda Prologue and 2024 Acura ZDX vehicles. The rearview camera screen may display a distorted or blank image.

Risk. A rearview image that does not display correctly reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the rearview camera, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed July 7, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated in late 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are DO5 and RO6. The information in your report suggests that Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) may have been aware of this issue more than five business days before filing a report with NHTSA. Please be reminded that under Federal law, this agency is to be notified of all safety defect and/or noncompliance decisions within five business days. 49 CFR 573.6 Significant civil penalties can be assessed for this violation.

This past spring I received a notification from Honda that there is a recall for an issue with my vehicles back up camera that may cause the camera to blur or go black. I called the dealer in [XXX] and they scheduled a time to bring in my vehicle and have it fixed. I dropped of my vehicle in the AM and was advised after calling in evening they would have to keep another day. When I went in next afternoon service advisor informed me that they did not have and could not get the part to fix. I told him I would check with [XXX] dealer I bought vehicle from when I got home in a couple of months. When I got home end of September I called local dealer and they informed me they still did not have the part. I informed them that the camera was blurring anytime that it rained and that this was a danger when trying to back up or pull out of my drive. They contacted Honda corporate and were told they had a limited supply of parts to fix but that I would have to bring the vehicle in and they would have to take a video and send it to them so they could see that the camera wasn't working properly. I advised them this was unacceptable as this is a problem that only shows up after it has rained or on very high humidity mornings and to expect me to drop everything and run to the dealer when it rained was ridiculous as I may well be working or have another engagement. I asked corporate to provide me with a refusal to complete work letter and they refused. Please help me as a camera failure jeopa

There is a clicking from the front of the Prologue when I am turning the wheel, generally to the left. It occurs when making a left, backing out of a parking spot mostly. I brought it to dealer #1 and they stated this is a known issue and normal and with out a code there is nothing they can do to fix it. It is currently at dealership #2 waiting to find out if the repair can be fixed. It is also in for electrically issue with the windows.

The vehicle is making clacking noise when doing any turn (left/right). Took my Prologue to the dealer twice May 22, 2026 and October 2, 2026. On my last visit to the dealer, the advisor confirm is a known issue but no directive have been received from Honda. This time the technician confirmed there is c/v axle noise from the left side. They recommend to replace the driver side c/v axle and they order the axle.

I have axle clicking issue on my car when I am turning the steering wheel. I wanted to the Honda dealership in Tyson Corner, VA and they refused to diagnose the issue as they said that they won’t change the axles. They said that as they know the problem and Honda is asking the dealership that the problem will come back again even with new parts replaced.

Took car to Ed Voyles Honda to get several issues addressed, one of which was this recall. Other issues were fixed but for this recall I was told that they don't actually replace the camera until there is an issue. Recall issue was not addressed.

At night rear view camera is dark unable to see objects, safety hazard. It is working, but does not have proper lighting. I have brought in to Honda and they have not resolved issue. State they can not duplicate issue.

The rearview camera on my 2025 Honda Prologue Elite is absolutely unusable at night. The display is so dark that I can barely see anything behind the vehicle in dark conditions, even with the driveway/garage lights on. This creates a significant safety hazard when backing up, parking, or checking surroundings at night. Safety Concern: Rearview cameras are essential for visibility and preventing collisions, especially in low-light situations. Since the camera does not provide adequate visibility at night, it fails to meet its intended safety function and puts pedestrians, other vehicles, and property at risk. When It Occurs: The issue occurs consistently at night in low-light environments. During the day or well-lit areas the camera functions normally. Request: Please investigate this issue, as the poor visibility of the rearview camera at night appears to be a design or equipment defect that affects all vehicles of this model based on complaints from various owners in various forums/reddit etc

Forward and rear collision avoidance system (AEB) activating without a hazard, causing sudden stops in the middle of traffic

Audible clicking/knocking sound when turning left or right sharply at low speeds.

I have reported car jerks while driving as though pushing to go. Car service said never heard of something with Prologues and brushed it off. I want it documented. The safety features such as listed above do not always effectively work either.

Backup camera image was too dark to see a tree behind the car. Driver backed into the tree. Dealer refuses to address faulty backup camera or backup lighting; claims this VIN is not subject to recall, so not their problem. Driver cannot drive this vehicle at night without functional backup camera visibility.

- Component: Undercarriage splash shield - Risk: One of the two sliding panels slid off under normal driving conditions. Vehicle has only 6,000 miles on it. The panel then drags on the ground and has risk of breaking off and flying off behind the vehicle. In our case, it just dropped when my daughter drove vehicle into the driveway, but if this happened at highway speeds it could be very bad. - Confirmation: Discussed it with Honda service technician. Their only response was that they cannot re-engineer the vehicle, they can only slide panel back in place as use existing clips. - Inspected: By Honda dealer/service tech. - There were no warnings or indications of the problem, only the noise of the panel dragging on the ground. There’s a loud clicking noise that I was told had something to do with the axle. Honda said they can’t do anything because it doesn’t affect the car driving. They’ve noticed the sound before too when I dropped it off for service. This can be a safety hazard especially after time if not replaced. Especially since I’ve only had my car for 1 year.

I had the same issue that prompted a recall of the 2024 prologue, screens went completely black while I was driving on the interstate around 8 pm. The black screen spontaneously resolved after about one minute. That was really scary not having important operating info such as my speed and my GPS directions!

The contact owns a 2025 Honda Prologue. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at undisclosed speeds and removing the foot off the accelerator pedal, the vehicle unexpectedly came to an immediate stop. The Auto Hold, service brake assist, service stability link, high voltage light, and ABS warning lights remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,000.

Both cv joints failed at less than 3,000 miles. They know about this but will no longer replace them as they know the new ones will fail immediately.

Rear backup camera image failed to provide adequate image at night. Backup lights were fully functional. Automobile lights were on and appeared fully functional. No warning lamps, messages, or symptoms of the problem appeared. Backup camera appeared fully functional in daylight. Backup camera lens was clean. Problem appeared to be either inadequate light provided by the backup lights OR inadequate image resolution in low light by the camera. As a result of this problem, the driver backed into a tree.

On June 11, 2026, my 2025 Honda Prologue displayed a High Voltage System Alert immediately after I attempted to charge the vehicle. The vehicle would not accept a charge and became inoperable. I brought it to the dealership the same day, and the vehicle has remained there since. The dealership first replaced the charging port, but the vehicle still would not charge. On June 24, 2026, the dealership informed me that the transmission lines from the charging port to the battery needed to be replaced. Since that date, I have not received any updates, repair timeline, or confirmation that the issue is being addressed. The vehicle is currently unusable and cannot be charged. The high‑voltage alert indicates a potential electrical system failure involving the charging system and high‑voltage components, which may pose a safety risk. The defect has left the vehicle inoperable for over a month with no resolution.

I bought the vehicle with about 12k a few months go. While making a shap left turn I noticed some clicking. This happen seminary regularly. After doing some research I found out this was a common issue. Since, it didn't happen that often I ignored it. On Tuesday 6/30/2026 I took the vehicle in for a tire rotation and system update. The vehicle now has approximately twelve thousand miles. After the serviceI picked up my vehicle and went home. The next day after driving about a 75 miles, I noticed an audible clicking sound when I made a right turn. This sound happened about three more times that day. I took the vehicle back to a Honda dealer today and I was just notified that they are going to be replacing the front two control arms. The vehicle is still under warranty. I was told that this is a common issue by the honda dealer.And it should only take a few hours to fix panning my parts are received tomorrow morning. Other than the audible clicking sound, there were no other warning lights or indications. Based on the number of complaints that I read about online in honda's representatives, knowing that there is an issue, I think this should be further investigated in case there are other safety concerns.

I was traveling at a steady speed of 35 MPH approaching an intersection with a red traffic signal. There was a single vehicle already stopped at the light, but it was positioned a significant distance ahead of my vehicle. Without any warning, driver input, or hazard present, my vehicle initiated an uncommanded emergency braking maneuver. The vehicle forcefully decelerated from 35 MPH to a complete stop (0 MPH) in the middle of the roadway. Prior to this incident, the vehicle's forward collision system has exhibited false positive detections, frequently issuing warnings for phantom vehicles or obstacles when the road ahead was completely clear

The vehicle is not charging this have happened multiple time since owning this vehicle

Backup camera is completely black when it is dark outside, making it worthless. It is fine during daylight hours. The local Honda dealer acknowledged that there is a problem, but stated that Honda has no solution for it at this time.

Hi, yes the component is the CV axle on the driver side front wheel. Whenever I make a left turn, the driver side CV axle makes a clicking noise. Also, sometimes, when I make a right turn, especially when going slower, the same drive side front wheel CV makes a clicking noise. It is available for inspection upon request. The safety seems OK, but we are fearful that is could break and cause an accident. We brought the the car to the Honda Norm Reeves in Cerritos on April 3rd, 2026, and the dealership told us it was a common issue. And right now there are no parts available for it. It's not a safety issue, so we shouldn't worry about it. So we took them at their word. But we are still nervous about it so which is why we're reporting it. The vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. There were not any symptoms of warning lamps or messages of the problem prior to failure.

Recall on rear view cams and front dashboard connectivity is a continuous issue with the car and the dealership visits did not resolve the problem and recalls are still pending for want of spares and non availability of techs or some reasons by the dealer

At about 5000 miles the car began a slight clicking noise after turning left. When the wheel was straightening out. As time progressed it started happening both left and right turns and the noise got louder. Honda dealer said that was normal without looking at it. How is a loud clicking noise normal on a car with under 7000 miles. Trying to get axles replaced but they are denying the repair as it’s just loud and noisy. The wheel also has a slight vibration now.

While driving normally, my 2025 Honda Prologue experienced an immediate, catastrophic mechanical and electronic failure in both the steering and braking systems. The steering wheel completely locked up/failed to respond, and the brakes became completely non-functional simultaneously, causing an absolute loss of control of the vehicle. Due to this sudden system failure, the vehicle veered off course and crashed, resulting in severe structural damage, complete destruction of the front passenger-side suspension, and rendering the vehicle a total loss. American Honda Motor Co. Corporate was immediately notified of this severe safety defect (Case No. 16372717. However, Honda Corporate has explicitly refused to send an engineer or inspector to evaluate the vehicle's electronic or mechanical logs, and they also refused to provide their denial statement in writing. The vehicle remains un-repaired as evidence of this dangerous factory defect.

The rearview camera does not function properly at night.

Exiting the interstate waiting to turn right and behind one car that was able 10 feet in front of me, the car suddenly slammed on the brakes hard enough to make me think I was hit by another car. There was nothing close by.

The sound of the front axel is unbearable, the CLIK that produces when rotating the direction of the steering wheel is very strong. ... like the sound of the wind since it has not been It seals correctly and you can feel the sound of the wind The backup camera is completely dysfunctional at night; you can't see anything clearly at all.

Clicking noise coming from the front axles when turning either right or left. ADAS settings seem to be too sensitive. Car slams on the emergency brake when backing out of a parking spot with no obstacles in view. Forward warning system alerts occur even though there is nothing in front of the car.

Drop off a few days after receiving vehicle. Picked up and dropped back off the same day due to issue repeating it self after being told there was no issue. Parts were supposedly replace on one of the occasions. No real time spent on the vehicle according to invoices. 8/28/25 -9/4/25 9/4/25 - 9/15/25 9/24/25 - 10/14/25 I have brought the car in for the same problem multiple times without it being rectified. I currently have videos and pictures from when this started to this current time. There are also other customers that have the same complaints that I do. Below is a list of issues that have been going on since first complaint including continued first complaint. I do believe that this is an issue and is a danger due to the reverse camera glitching due to the screen, not being able to get out of the screen, sometimes can not leave a parking space due to the sensor says that there is something in the way where indeed there is nothing. Also can not pull out of drive way during snow due to the car automatically breaking for snow. The collision for the front is always going off when there is no need for it to go off as this can cause someone to unexpectedly stop due to this being something that is supposed to be a warning. If this could happen to the vehicle constantly without a solution then this could be connected to something much more serious. My 2025 Honda Prologue is experiencing a consistent knocking/cracking noise when turning the steering wheel at low speeds, particularly during tight turns such as parking or exiting driveways. There's a knocking or clicking sound when I turn, and sometimes when I'm not turning. It seems to be coming from the front left wheel area.

While making the turns (either side left or right or u turns ) it makes tik tik loud sound at both wheels. When turning at low speeds and sometimes on the highway the car will mta clicking noise and even drift to the right . I’ve had a wheel alignment done and the problem still continues

While driving yesterday the service high voltage system light came on again. I have brought my vehicle to Honda 2 other times for the exact same issue. They fix whatever the issue is and the problem happens again. That last time it was about a month after bringing it to them but this time is has been 3 possibly 4 months but I have have the car less than 1 year.

As I was driving the car this error message came on. The battery was depleting faster than usual. Luckily I was able to get to a Honda dealer asap if not the car would go into “turtle mode” could stall in the middle of traffic. Also probably could not charge the car again due to this issue.

I own a 2025 Honda Prologue Touring. I have a Clicking and popping noise coming from the CV axel on both sides when turning. It seems to be getting worst as I keep driving. The clicking from the CV joint has become unbearable.

Knocking when turning left, right and making U-turns

Happens frequently. While it has not yet caused the vehicle to fully slam on the brakes, it will occasionally flash the brake warning and apply the brakes even when there are no obstacles present. Additionally, when backing out of the driveway, the vehicle sometimes detects the road surface as an obstruction and abruptly applies the brakes. This occurs consistently in the same location, likely due to the steep angle of the driveway.

While merging onto the freeway in [XXX] today, I was slowing in response to a metered light but did not come to a complete stop. When the light turned green, and I accelerated, the vehicle suddenly jolted and produced a loud impact noise, similar to hitting a large pothole. I returned to the on-ramp to check the roadway but found no visible obstruction or hazard that would explain the incident. This issue has occurred twice. The first time was at approximately 3,000 miles, and the second time at around 7,200 miles. On both occasions, the vehicle lost power and displayed a warning message stating “Service High Voltage System” along with a “Reduced Speed” notification. During these events, the estimated driving range dropped significantly, charging was limited to approximately 25%, and acceleration was severely restricted, indicated by a turtle icon on the dashboard. After the first occurrence, the vehicle remained undrivable for approximately three days over Thanksgiving. By the time I was able to bring it to the dealership on the next available business day, the warning light had turned off. I was advised to bring the vehicle in immediately if the issue happened again. The issue did not reoccur for about three months. When it happened again, I was out of town and the estimated range dropped from over 100 miles to around 60 miles. I was able to make it home without requiring a tow and brought the vehicle to the dealership the following day. At check-in, the service advisor observed that the warning lights were still active. However, later that day I was informed that by the time the vehicle was inspected, the warning lights had turned off, and no action could be taken. CAr did emergency break on Freeway 4/7/2026 no reason, also Axel still making noise when you turn

Upon start-up the driver display was off, showing no information. Center infotainment display remained on. Attempted infotainment reset by pressing and holding the hang-up call button on the steering wheel, and after approximately 30 seconds the infotainment display turned off, driver display remained off. Shutdown and started car, both screens remained off.

Being an AWD. There is a load knocking sound when accelerating from a stop to 30 mph while turning left or right. The frequency happens every time under those conditions. With my experience this knocking sound is indicating a bad CV Joint, axle, or transfer case.

Axle clicking when turning. Car visited dealer on Jan2026 and they requested replacement parts. Last update from dealer stats Honda stopped replacing them due to defective parts. Replacement part is under design.
