The fuel Pump has been stalling and acting out since 2022 and received Recall "NHTSA Number: 23V-858 on February 2024. We call Tampa Honda at 813-935-8585 to schedule a recall repair. Tampa Honda informed us that they don't have parts to replace the Fuel Pump. We then, 60 days after February 2024, received a second recall letter, "NHTSA Recall Number: 23V-858 today 18 MAY 2024 and called Tampa Honda for the second time to schedule a recall repair of the Fuel Pump. For the second time, Tampa Honda customer service told us that they don't have parts for the replacement. We informed them that the recall issue ( Stalling and Engine hesitation while driving )with our Honda Pilot 2019 is persistent and that we are concerned about the vehicle's safety.
1ST OCCURENCE: 45000 miles on vehicle. I was exiting a busy ramp from [XXX] to Fort Oglethorpe, Ga and the Idle stop caused the engine to stall and not re-engage upon lifting the break. I was almost hit from the rear. The vehicle had power but would not restart. I had to wait for it to shut itself down and get it to restart. 2ND OCCURENCE: 62000 miles on vehicle. Almost a year and a half from the first occurrence-I was on a very busy [XXX] and came to stop at a red light. AGAIN, the idle stop caused the engine to stall and not restart. The light turned green, and I immediately turned my flashers on. I had a child in the backseat. Cars still began honking and going around us, leaving us to potentially get smashed from behind on a road that many people travel at 55mph plus! Two nice people stopped and were going to try and push us out of the road. The vehicle would not remain in neutral and allow itself to be rolled. It automatically throws itself back into park. It eventually shut all the way down and was able to be restarted. I no longer feel safe driving my children in the vehicle as this is a HUGE safety concern for busy areas and intersections. This feature can be disengaged with a button but has to be done every time the car is re-started, this button can also easily be pushed at ANY time by accident and the feature would re-engage. Honda STILL has NO remedy to permanently disengage this feature. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.
Backup camera started showing rainbow colors making it difficult to use and see objects. It is always happening and not sporadic.

Auto idle doesn't always restart. Latest incident, I was stopped at a busy intersection. It failed to restart when I lifted my foot. Caused my car to become inoperable, pretty much every light came on, radio stopped. Had to put it in park, turn off the car, and restart it. There were cars coming close to hitting me.
I am trying to get my open recall fixed, but the dealer won’t fix it unless there is a problem and even charged me for a diagnostic test to see if there is a problem with the recall. This was at Apple Tree Honda in Asheville, NC
Three of the six fuel injectors on a 2019 Honda Pilot failed, with Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0430, P0300, P0304, P0306, and P219A, resulting in the vehicle requiring transportation via tow truck to an independent service center. Research into the history of 2019 Honda Pilots indicates that 2019 model-year vehicles within a certain VIN number range, along with all 2018-2019 Honda Odysseys, 2016-2018 Honda Pilots, and 2017-2019 Honda Ridgelines, had their warranties extended for fuel injectors to 10 years from original date of purchase or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. See Honda Service Bulletin 20-100. The issue is that some 2019 Honda Pilots are failing with these DTC codes, but are not covered by the warranty extension. The problem was diagnosed by an independent service center and we were directed to Honda for further diagnostic and possible warranty service. A technician at the service center stated that he had never seen a customer have to pay for fuel injector replacement on a Honda Pilot from 2016-2019 model years that developed this problem. Regardless, Honda insists that this vehicle is not covered by the warranty extension and required us to pay for the repair ourselves. My family and I were temporarily without a usable vehicle, because our other vehicle was undergoing scheduled maintenance at the time of the failure. Prior to the failure, all of the warning lamps on the vehicle would occasionally illuminate at vehicle start up, but the vehicle operated normal
My 2019 Honda Pilot alignment pulls badly to the right while driving on any type of road surface. I have had the vehicle aligned numerous times and the car still pulls to the right. I have heard from other people friends of mine that own Pilots that they have this issue as well. Honda needs to look into this as it is a safety problem out on the road. The problem has been confirmed by my tire dealer and my mechanic the problem continues. No warning lights have ever appeared.
While driving on very straight and non-rolling hills the large red words BRAKE will appear on the dash, the brakes will start pulsing and slightly shaking for a few seconds when there is very minimal on-coming traffic. The above has happened several times and first occurred several years ago and at different mileages and different roads
The alarm sounded all through the night killing the battery leaving me stranded almost 500 miles from home. Took it to the Honda in Pensacola to be diagnosed only to be told they couldn’t get the part and had to pay a $80 fee on top of renting a car to use while out of town. Then had to leave a day early from our trip (losing money there) because we could not cut the car off without the alarm, lights, and inside going crazy. When we got back home the Honda here said it was the keyless access control unit and replaced it. After researching I have found the is a common issue with the Pilot.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while at a stop light with the Auto START/STOP feature activated, the vehicle did not immediately restart after releasing the brake pedal. The contact had to shift to the park and restart the vehicle manually. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the idle stop module, and the failure was remedied however, the failure later reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 82,000.
Auto start stalled at highway stop light , then parked and shut off, went to leave would not start , emergency Alarm going off will not start , Emission light , Lane depart light , transmission light , battery dead , I’ve been dealing with problems with the Honda pilot since I bought brand new 2019 Honda pilot elite , auto pilot stop and go wouldn’t kick back on and that was 40,000 take in charge me 10,000
Automatic braking system failure parallel issue that is same to the accord and other models with the emergency braking system which randomly activated and panic stops and sometimes without an traffic near to car and other times have almost caused catastrophic collisions on highway systems with divided medians causing system to activate.
February 2024, I received the 23V-858 recall notice for the fuel pump module that may have an improperly molded impeller and can cause the fuel pump to become inoperable. On [XXX], my vehicle stalled on [XXX] in Atlanta, GA. My car was towed to Honda Mall of Georgia in Buford, GA on [XXX]. On [XXX], the technicians at Honda Mall of Georgia confirmed that it was indeed the fuel pump (that is under a safety recall) had gone out. My car has sat there ever since because they have yet to receive a part from Honda. I has been 60 days and there has been no remedy due to the fact they have not received a part. The picture from the back-up camera, as displayed in the infotainment center, has become grossly colorful and requires extreme scrutiny to determine specific shapes, rendering it untrustworthy. This happens every time the car is put in reverse. The car gave no warning that there was any issue. It has not yet been inspected by anyone other than myself. I did do a reset of the infotainment system, but that did not fix the problem. This will make visibility more difficult when backing out of my driveway, into parking spaces, etc.
When I am driving and at times the braking system tell me to Brake when I am in my line and no one is heading my way.

Failure to restart after a stop at a stop light. Happens very often and sometimes I have to be jumped off to get it to restart. This is a very dangerous situation. It has occurred when I have been on a major highway in heavy traffic. One time it happened at night and it drained my battery to the point of my headlights not working. A highway patrol came and rescued me and jumped it to restart. I had a new battery when all this happened. This has been happening constantly for the last year and a half.
The rear back up cameras are all showing purple, green and yellow on the display. The dealers have told others with this issue that it is not covered under warranty. There are many cars with this problem. This happened very randomly.
LED headlight has been collecting condensation, presumed by mechanic to be from improper venting of the headlight. Possibly related to Honda technical service bulletin regarding hood positioning keeping headlights from venting properly. The chronic moisture caused the headlight to fail and stop working while driving at night, without warning. This caused a sudden impairment to visibility, creating a safety risk for those in the vehicle and others in the road.
Auto start-stop feature is malfunctioning. It is terrifying. I have pulled up to high traffic, busy intersections and my car will idle into stop at the light. When the light turns green and I proceed to push on the gas, the engine does now restart. I have been in extremely dangerous situations where I am stuck in the middle of very busy intersections with my young children in the car with me, and my car will not move. After about 10 minutes of attempting to restart, it will eventually turn back on and I can drive again. I cannot begin to tell you how terrified I have been a couple of the times this has happened, given the conditions of the traffic. I have tried to ask Honda about this several times and they act like they have no idea as to what I am referring to. They tell me there is nothing they can do because it cannot be replicated. I know that I am not the only one that has been affected by this, as I have done a ton of research online to try and find an answer. It seems to be a fairly common issue. i now worry every time i drive my car that it will happen. So far I have been lucky enough to avoid an accident each time this has happened. One occurrence was very close, as a car swerved at the last second before running right into me. It is utterly irresponsible of such a large automobile manufacturer to turn a blind eye to this issue. One of these days it could be catastrophic. It is my understanding that It is the responsibility of your organization to hold these manufac
The backup camera image is distorted and the coloring is wrong (green and purple) and you cannot see the image from the camera. When researching online, there are numerous reports of 2019 Honda Pilot with similar issues. This situation happens when moving in reverse when the backup camera is on.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact stated while driving from a complete stop and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated to respond, then slowly responded. The contact stated that on several occasions, the vehicle would only respond when depressing the accelerator pedal with added force. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times; however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the fuel pump system was cleaned with an additive; however, the failure persisted. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline), which she related to the failure; however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. Parts distribution disconnect.
Started vehicle and proceeded to drive forward in my driveway when smoke started coming in the vehicle. Noticed after driving that the smoke was coming in the vehicle from under the glove box on the passenger side by the floor mat. Within approximately two minutes a flame ignited in which the dashboard caught on re. The whole inside on the vehicle was destroyed & totaled the whole vehicle. I have about 25 more pictures of the car (after the re and during) that I couldnt send via this webform. If you need them I would be happy to email them to you directly.
While stopped at a busy intersection the vehicle stalled and would not restart. Everything went blank. We believe it was the idle stop start feature malfunctioning. Lost all vehicle power including hazard lamps, speedometer, and gauges. Vehicle was previously in for recall on farka cables and idle stop start update. Honda dealer replaced battery 2 Months prior
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact stated after starting the vehicle, there was a chirping noise coming from the timing belt. No warning lights was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times. The first time, the dealer stated it was normal, the second time, the dealer replaced the serpentine belt, the last time, the dealer acknowledged the noise but stated they did not have a solution to fix the issue. The contact stated the vehicle was taken to another dealer who stated it was a known issue called the timing belt chirp. They also stated when replacing the timing belt, they install a part to prevent the noise as well as prevent wear and tear. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced Hondas Service Bulletin 16-054, which applied to the year make and model of the contact's vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, a case was opened and then closed. The approximate failure mileage was 106,000.
Backup camera malfunctioning. Display on my infotainment screen shows vibrant colors, impairing visibility, only when in reverse and using the backup camera. All other screen displays are working normally. In day light the backup camera picture is messed up with different colors green purple and doesn't show clear crisp picture of surroundings hampering the visibility when backing-up and in night time it's actually even worse. This has been an issue for more than a year now and started happening after my initial bumper to bumper warranty from Honda expired. AutoNation Honda Dealership here in Roseville California says it's a faulty camera issue and wants to charge for replacement; but when I search online looks like it has impacted lot of 2019 Honda Pilots and even other Honda models. This should be dealt as a security concern and Honda should replace the faulty camera units as cameras are starting to have this defect within 3-4 years of a new car being pushed into service. Clearly these year models don't seem to have proper cameras which should last a lot longer than just 3-4 years. I already took my vehicle for the cable related safety recall but even after that work was done by dealership, the camera is still not showing proper picture when backing-up.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact stated while driving 35-40 MPH on two occasions, the vehicle jerked and stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was unable to pull to the side of the road. The contact stated that he turned on the hazard lights and was able to restart the vehicle after 5 minutes and continued driving. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 50-55 MPH, the vehicle stalled abruptly, nearly causing a crash. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that an abnormal sound and vibration were coming from the fuel pump. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The manufacturer was contacted and advised the contact that the dealer would put the vehicle as priority on the waitlist due to the symptoms of the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where diagnostic test code P0007 was retrieved, and the dealer informed the contact that the failure was related to the high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP). The dealer informed the contact that the HPFP needed to be replaced prior to performing the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
This complaint is regarding safety recall for 2019 Honda Pilot for "fuel pump impellers" (NHTSA Recall Number [XXX]). It was published in November 2023 but Honda dealers still don't have the parts available to do the repair. The Honda dealerships that I have called say that it likely won't be available for another 6 months. I use the car for business purposes and having an open safety recall on a car creates a significant liability issue for me. Please assist with pressuring Honda to quickly fix the safety recall issue. Thank you [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Backup camera recently began displaying a purple and green screen making the image in the backup view unable to be seen. Vehicle is garage parked or nearly always under covered parking. Taken to a Honda dealership and told camera needs to be replaced.
Emissions System Problem code appeared on dash with check engine light on. I took the car to the dealer immediately and they ran codes and tests on it and stated the Fuel injectors need replaced. Doing research on the fuel injectors on the 2019 Honda Pilot I came across the NHTSA article how other 2019 Honda Pilots have already had issues but my VIN is not coming up with this error per everyone I have talked at with Honda. per the policy stated by NHTSA below: DATE: February 11, 2021 TO: All Honda Sales, Service & Parts Managers, and Personnel FROM: Brad Ortloff, Manager Auto Campaign Administration Dept. Re: UPDATE - Warranty Extension: 2018-19 Odyssey, 2016-19 Pilot, 2017-19 Ridgeline V6 Fuel Injector On, November 24, 2020, American Honda announced a warranty extension for certain 2016 Pilot vehicles. Today, February 11, 2021 American Honda is announcing an expansion to the vehicles covered under this warranty extension. Certain 2018-19 Odyssey, 2017-19 Pilot, and 2017-19 Ridgeline vehicles are being added to this market action. American Honda is extending the warranty coverage of the fuel injectors to 10 years from the original date of purchase or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. BACKGROUND The fuel injectors may not have been manufactured to proper specifications. As a result, debris from the high pressure pump or the fuel injector machining process may cause internal wear or clogging inside one or more injectors. Also, the PCM software may misinterpret sensor inputs
I was provided an email on my 2019 Honda Pilot in December 2023. I called my local Honda dealership to schedule the repair. I was scheduled and the day of my appointment they called to cancel stating the parts were not in. I waited till January 2024 and called back and they stated that they are still working out a plan with Honda and at this time no parts are available but they should be coming in the next month or two. I just got a letter in the mail today stating that it is going to be fall 2024 before parts are available. After reading this safety, recall letter I received from Honda it stating why the vehicles under recall, and the safety consequence regarding it. My check engine light is not on however, my vehicle has been acting like it is going to stall out several times while I’m driving under 35 mph. I’m very concerned because this is the only vehicle I have and I have four children and the thought of possibly being in an accident is very scary to think about, due to Honda not having a replacement part to fix the recall. This is assuming that the parts would be in by fall to fix the vehicle. I don’t have another vehicle to access so if I happen to get into accident and it’s due to my vehicle stalling would Honda then be liable for the wreck? I am little frustrated and have never in my life experienced an issue with Honda until now. If the parts are “unavailable” then I personally feel Honda should be paying for rental vehicles for these families who don’t have any ot
I am filing a complaint with Honda Motors due to a recall regarding the fuel pump. I received a letter stating that it is an issue that can be serious, leading to an accident or injury. The main reason for this complaint is that Honda stated that the part will not be available for at least seven months. This is our family car and we have two young children we would obviously like to keep safe. I do not feel safe with this current issue that cannot be resolved in a timely manner. I would like to know if the lemon law applies or anything to trade in this car that should not be driven. Thank you

Car dies at stop lights, we believe this is related to the idle stop. The battery was replaced battery 4 months ago due to the same issue.
The Honda Sense camera failed due to an internal fault just outside the manufacturer's warranty. Dealership was needed to replace it in order to regain function at out of pocket cost. Upon the camera failing the driver is met with 5 warning lights that the following are no longer active: LKAS, ACC, Automatic Braking\Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Headlights, and Lane Mitigation System. You have to clear each of these before you can use the main dash (including MPH). Cruise control is completely disabled. Although there is no asserted timeline for the life of the camera, research shows (and dealership sates) that this is a known issue. Reaching out to Honda's technical support team returns a somewhat blanket response stating that although campaigns exist for other issues with my VIN it is my monetary responsibility to handle this particular issue, although I was writing to the campaign department to add to the growing list of those with this particular issue in hopes of moving toward a recall, not because I expected there was one in place for this issue. For reference, Vehicle was parked when issue began.

The car shuts down completely at so lights. Have to charge it again for the car to start again.
This morning 01/30/2024, I was travelling in the right lane of two on the highway. The vehicle slowed rapidly just about to a stop. I barely had time to pull to the right shoulder. I narrowly was struck from a vehicle travelling behind. This was from one of the safety mechanisms in the Pilot SUV I think the lane departure sensor. This was very scary. I feel this is a huge safety concern and need to report it. If I didn't have a shoulder what the heck would have happened to me. I probably would have been struck from behind and who knows possibly injured or worse. The shoulder was approximately 8 ft wide thankfully. Later that morning it did the same thing but this time many error messages appeared. Thankfully this time there was nobody behind me and was able to pull to the right shoulder again. The error messages are as follows 1) Adaptive Cruise Control Problem 2) Brake System Problem 3) Power Steering System Problem 4) Vehicle Stability Assist Problem 5) Hill Start Assist Problem 6) Trail Stability Assist Problem 7) Collision Mitigation System Problem 8) Road Departure Mitigation System Problem. The engine lost power and would not shift properly. About 15 minutes later the vehicle drove normal. The error messages were still there. I parked my car upon arrival to work. I saw that the rear brake lights stayed illuminated as if the brakes were depressed but they were not. I had no tools to disconnect the battery and the rear lights stayed on for the next several hours. I return
For several months there was a crackling sound coming from the dashboard/ speakers. I mentioned this problem to my service advisor on at least 2 different appointments and even showed him a recording of the problem. It was never fixed. Finally, My entertainment center stopped working altogether. It would not even turn on. I once again reminded my service advisor about the crackling/ popping sounds and wondered if these problems were related. They stated a cable was loose, reconnected and my entertainment center began to work again. Unfortunately, the crackling and popping sound continued. When using the audio system, the speakers would abruptly make crackling and popping noises, similar to static noises, which caused the audio to interrupt and cut out. Even when I turned the audio off, the speakers continued to make the crackling and popping sounds. This was extremely nerve recking, and caused safety concerns because I was not sure what was going on and where sounds were coming from when I first begin having this issue with the car. It happened randomly. The audio would also stop and dvd would stop working where image no longer appeared on the back screen. I took it to the dealership again today and received a quote for about $1,600.00 to have it repaired. I have found multiple complains online for this same problem. Honda was well aware of the problem and should extend warranty and cover my repair cost fully. Below is result of inspection done: Recommended service $1,462.41

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
