All they come one after eachother on my dashboard. I did some research and a lot of vans 2019 have the sa e issues. My friend van same problem she payed 1900 to replace the camera. This is a safety issue and it cost a lot to replace. It cannot be deactivated. I hope it will be a recall issued for this model. I have 3 minivans honda. I never had an issue with thjs brand . The new one is terrible.... Thank you.

My 2019 Honda Odyssey’s power liftgate control model failed due to water intrusion. My liftgate started to open and close while I was driving, would close on me while loading/unloading the trunk, and would also open while parked in parking lots nearly hitting passing vehicles. It is truly a huge safety concern. Once the old module was out, I found extensive corrosion and rust on the module and its housing. As well, the entire bracket inside of the vehicle is rusted. There appears to be a defect in the manufacturers body seams that is allowing water to enter.

Nothing has happened yet, but I have been unable to get the connecting rod bearings inspected per the Honda safety recall notice. I contacted the Honda dealer in January of 2025 to have the bearings inspected, as well as to have the fuel pump replaced (also under recall). I wanted them both done at the same time. I set up an appointment for May 21st of 2025, because that date was the first mutually available date for the dealer and me. Later in the day, on May 21st, I got a call from the service department that my fuel pump was done, but they did not do the bearing inspection. I went to pick up the vehicle at the dealership only to find that the check engine light was on, so I had to leave the vehicle overnight so that the check engine light problem could be corrected. It was then that I was told that they could not do the connecting rod bearing inspection because the procedure requires a "special tool" and Honda had to send it to them. I find this strange because of the number of months that went by, from when I first contacted the dealership until the appointment date, and I thought that they would have been better prepared to complete the work. I was also informed by Honda that all of the parts necessary to do the bearing inspection were available. I received that notification on September 4th of 2024. I also find it strange that, out of nearly 250,000 affected vehicles, I am the first to request this service at this dealership. I was not told how long it would be until th

My tailgate originally would not open and now the vehicle is inoperable. This was caused by a leak through the roof, where Honda failed to properly seal a seam, causing water to get onto the trunk control module and damage it. I see online this is happening with almost all Gen 5 Honda Odysseys and is clearly a manufacturing defect, causing thousands in repairs for each.

I am filing a complaint regarding an unresolved safety recall related to the fuel pump motor (NHTSA Recall 21V215000 and/or 23V858000). In 2024, I brought my 2019 Honda Odyssey to Stevenson Hendrick Honda in an attempt to complete the fuel pump recall. I was informed the part was not available and no repair was completed. I was told to check back later. In preperation for a family road trip I checked back in and was told the part was still unavailable. Unfortunately, I did not receive a written confirmation of these visits. Yesterday (5/21/2025), the vehicle failed to start and had to be towed to the dealership. The error code DTC P0087 (fuel rail/system pressure too low) was logged. I have now been presented with $4,000 in repairs, all related to the same fuel pump issue that should have been corrected under the recall. This failure represents a serious safety concern and has caused financial and logistical hardship. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this as a failure of Honda to provide timely remedy for a known defect, resulting in vehicle failure and costly repairs for a safety-critical system.

On a rainy day, the power tailgate began to malfunction. First it would open part of the way, beep, and then close, then when trying again it would go move back and forth on its own, and then close. Trying it again later, however, it completely stopped working to the point where we had to manually force it to open and close, only the latch would work. The heads-up display showed power tailgate error. On my attempt to troubleshoot I found that water had leaked into the area behind the driver's-side rear inside body panel where the rear control module and fuse housing is located, which I noticed was covered with water. I was able to partially dry this. Later on the rear tailgate started working again briefly but the problem returned and now it no longer works. I contacted Honda USA about this issue and they told me there is no recall for this, however when I did a google search this issue immediately pops up and seems to be a common manufacturing safety problem that has not been addressed.

Recently got a message on the instrument panel that says "Emission System Problem" with DTC P219A. This is related to faulty fuel injectors. Honda released Service Bulletin 21-010 and extended the warranty to 10y/150,000mi to cover this issue. However, Honda is saying my VIN is not covered by this campaign. From browsing owners forums and talking to the dealer, it seems that many more owners are experiencing this same issue. Clearly the original service campaign did not cover enough VINs. Honda needs to expand the service campaign to cover more VINs to capture all of the faulty fuel injectors.

I was driving to work and all of a sudden, the Check Engine light turned on and when I looked at the dashboard, it says Emissions System Problem. As I went home, I purchased an OBD sensor and as I used it, it read P219A which is about fuel injectors replacement. I was searching for answers online and I came across an extended warranty for problems like this with 18-19 Honda Odyssey but it says for certain VIN numbers. I called Honda America and said that my VIN number is not within the list so they are not covering the warranty. Same is true with the dealerships, they said the same thing. As I looked into Odyssey Forum online, a few of us at about 90k mileage has this issue and we were all told that our VIN numbers are not in the list. I do hope you can help us on this that we can be covered by Honda regarding this inconvenience.

The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems no longer works, and it becomes unknown to the driver whether the "Brake System" light is being triggered only by the Collision Mitigation System Problem, or an additional problemch as the anti-lock brake system not working. While no accidents occurred, the warning lights add unneeded driver anxiety, which can contribute to a potential safety impact. The problem has been confirmed by the San Leandro, CA Honda Dealer to be error code U3000-49. Dealer diagnosed problem as "Multipurpose camera / millimeter wave radar internal circuit failure" and recommended to replace the multipurpose camera and perform aiming. I am filing this complaint to report a recurring and costly defect involving the starter system in my Honda Odyssey. The vehicle has been experiencing starter failures every few months, requiring repeated repairs and part replacements. Each time the starter fails, I am left stranded without warning, creating a serious safety hazard, especially when the failure occurs in public areas, on road shoulders, or during emergencies. The defect has caused extreme inconvenience, financial strain, and raised serious concerns about the reliability and safety of this vehicle. Given the frequency and cost of the problem, I believe this constitutes a systemic defect that should be investigated for a potential recall or manufacturer responsibility. I urge the NHTSA to thoroughly investigate this matter to determine whether this ongoing issue with the starter poses a broader public safety concern and qualifies for regulatory or enforcement action.

Shortly after owning we started noticing sporadic jerks between 24-29 mph that felt like a hard up shift. We immediately brought to our local Honda dealership where they performed a software update. We were told that the vehicle struggles to shift while under load. Recently our van was making a whining noise and seemed hard/delay to accelerate in drive as well as reverse. Almost felt like I was in neutral, but was not. NO warning lights were on, but something was not right so I went home. The next day it would not start and lit up every warning light. We had it towed to the dealership and was told battery was shot so they replaced. On way home it was still hard to accelerate so we brought it right back to the dealership and have been told a new transmission is needed. We have had all maintenance done at dealership prior to this. In fact, the vehicle was just in 3 weeks ago for an oil change and everything looked great. These issues have occurred without any warning lights or diagnostic alerts, making them unpredictable and dangerous. A transmission should not fail without any particular warning to the driver. It seems these transmissions have had a defect from the date of manufacturer that cause malfunctions, premature failing, costly repairs, and most important major safety concerns. Honda needs to be held accountable.

My 2019 Honda Odyssey has only 63,545 miles on it. The vehicle recently began making strange "rattling" sounds from inside the engine block when driving. I took the car into the dealership (Honda of Oakland) and learned from the technician that the rod bearings and/or connector rods are damaged. The engine needs to be completely torn down. To repair the car, I will need to purchase a new engine. The cost estimate is $13,000. Looking online, I discovered there is an ongoing recall for this issue affecting many 2018-2019 Honda Odysseys. Somehow, my vehicle has been excluded from this recall despite exhibiting the exact same problem(s) that the other recalled vehicles are experiencing. It appears that the existing recall parameters for the cars being affected by this bearing rod issue are too narrow. Many more Honda Odysseys are experiencing this same problem. I called American Honda for further assistance and they declined saying that the vehicle is outside of the warranty period and they are not obligated to help. I purchased this vehicle from the Honda of Oakland dealership - during my ownership, the car has passed many multi-point inspections. Nothing I have done (or did not do) has contributed to the problem - it is purely a manufacturing defect. The technician tells me that, if I don't make this repair, the engine could "seize-up" on the road while driving. This condition poses an active safety hazard for Odyssey owners.

Took the van to the dealership to fix a recall for the fuel pump. A few days later, error messages popped up saying there are problems with the adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation system, lane keep assist system, and brake system, among others. I test drove it from Arcadia to Pasadena on both the freeway and the sidestreets without any problems. We took it back to the dealership who assessed it and told us that the multipurpose camera was bad. It would cost us $2100 to get it fixed. We refused. No one was hurt, however, the dealership told me that there is a safety risk to my family if I did not repair it. Attached is the invoice for the last visit during which the dealership gave us the estimate for replacing the multipurpose camera.

Upon starting the car, multiple alerts came on the dashboard reporting faults with multiple systems. There was no damage to the car, it had been parked safely and appropriately prior to starting. Dealership inspected the issue and reported the camera/sensor system in the windshield behind the rear view mirror is faulty. This faulty camera now causes multiple systems off line as the sensor is no longer reliable. This is a safety issue as this sensor assists with split second support to the driver to prevent collisions, leaving your lane or speed adjustment with cruise control.

We have had issues with the transmission multiple times. After coming to a stop, rolling forward, and then pressing the accelerator the vehicle hesitates and won't immediately move forward. It will suddenly engage, often squealing the tires and jerk into forward motion. This puts us and others at risk because it causes a delay in pulling into traffic and has made for close calls with oncoming traffic. We took the vehicle to a local shop and they also noticed the issue with the transmission. We took the vehicle to a Honda dealership for service and while they stated that they could not duplicate the issue, there was a software update that they completed and stated that they thought it would take care of the issue. We are still having the issue and plan to take the vehicle back to the dealer for more investigation. We have not had any warning lamps or other messages. Upon researching this, there are class action lawsuits in the works related to this issue on 9 speed transmissions used in various Honda models during this timeframe. Honda has not recalled or extended warranties to cover these issues. It looks like Honda has sent technical service bulletins to nationwide dealers acknowleding the issue but has failed to find a fix for the problem. As in our case, Honda has done software updates which may mask the issue. Below it asks for the date that the incident occurred - This occurs at least weekly, sometimes more frequently.

I am reporting a serious safety concern regarding my 2019 Honda Odyssey, which poses a risk to me and my family. The issue is intermittent, making it difficult for the dealership to replicate. The problem began when the Collision Mitigation System warning light flashed, indicating a system malfunction. This was followed by multiple warning lights appearing on the dashboard. At times, the entire dashboard and screen go blank, and all gauges shut off while I am driving on both city streets and highways-though the engine remains on. Additionally, I have experienced the following issues: The steering wheel stiffness when making turns, the vehicle hesitates to accelerate after being at a stop. In December 2023, I took the vehicle to a Honda Dealership, where they recommended replacing the front camera/sensor (behind the rear mirror) at a cost of over $1,500.00. I proceeded with the repair in December 2023. However, the same issues returned in January 2025. This defect poses a severe safety risk, especially when driving at higher speeds or in traffic. Since the dealership has been unable to diagnose the issue due to its sporadic nature, I am requesting an investigation into this matter to determine if other owners are experiencing similar safety risks. Thank you for your time and attention to this issue.

As a result, the vehicle became inoperable. The failed component is no longer available for inspection as I was forced to purchase a replacement due to the vehicle’s dependency on it for proper function. The failure of the camera sensor created multiple dangerous situations: Loss of vehicle control: The vehicle lost acceleration functionality and automatically shut itself down, which could have led to a crash in traffic.Dashboard warning lights: All dashboard lights illuminated simultaneously, indicating a severe system failure. Fire hazard: The sensor was emitting extreme heat, creating a potential fire risk due to overheating electronics.
