I was driving on the highway last week and my steering kept sticking. It’s like having to constantly adjust and you can feel the steering stick. Now it’s happening even in town while driving. I reached out to Steve Padgett Honda in Irmo SC and they said it’s not a known issue. I beg to differ. I decided to google to see what might be the problem And was overwhelmed by all of the information I have found. Including the fact that it IS a known issue to Honda. I think it’s dangerous! TY for any help.

I experienced a concerning incident while driving recently, and I would like to bring attention to several issues with my vehicle. Firstly, while turning onto a main street at a speed of 35mph, my vehicle's automatic emergency braking system unexpectedly activated, despite there being no obstruction in front, beside, or behind me. This occurred at a green light as I approached the beginning of the intersection. Additionally, I have been facing multiple problems with my stereo, including glitches, turning off unexpectedly, and the brightness becoming engaged and freezing. I had previously reported these issues to the dealership within the first two years of purchasing my vehicle in 2019. However, the technicians only unplugged and replugged the stereo, assuring me it would be "good." I’m still currently dealing with the problem of the stereo glitches in 2024. Given these concerns, I am worried about the possibility of future issues arising and the potential for a collision due to my vehicle stopping itself randomly while driving. As a responsible driver with a family to consider, I kindly request immediate assistance in resolving these matters. To address the specific questions: 1. The component or system that failed or malfunctioned is the automatic emergency braking system. 2. Yes, the vehicle and its components are available for inspection upon request. 3. The safety of both myself and others was put at risk due to the sudden activation of the automatic emergency braking sy

My daughter was driving my car and she noticed this terrible smell and some of the lights came on to check the engine so we took it to get looked at and they said they didn’t see anything wrong. So she was driving it and then all the lights came on and the car would not drive. We had it taken to a place to get looked at and they said they couldn’t fix it so we had to take it to Honda and they said it needed new fuel injectors and this was not cheap. I was very upset with Honda because they know this is an issue with this year and make of car but they don’t want to pay to fix it and they never fixed the recall because he said they do not have the parts until later in the year. That is ridiculous. I’ve never had any problems with Honda until now and I’ve had many Hondas. My daughter could have been hit by another car or anything could have happened. They need to pay for this $2,000 repair. Thank you

My wife was the driver, and I was in the front passenger seat. We were going about 35 MPH. Weather was not an issue. All of a sudden, and for no apparent reason, the car emergency braked to an emergency stop. We saw no warning lights on the instrument panel prior to the incident or afterwards. Traffic was light and nothing was nearby. Luckily no one was behind us, and no accident occurred. My wife and I had seat belts on and were not injured. We had our two dogs with us. They were thrown forward but were not injured, though they were scared. They are okay. We took the car to the Honda dealership in Jefferson City, MO. They checked the car and said that a temporary stop of the radar code was stored in the Integrated Driver Support System. They believed most likely a rock had hit the radar assembly and knocked it out of aim. They needed to recalibrate the radar to fix it. They said there was also a leak of the air conditioning and repair should be done at same time as the radar repair because the front bumper and radar had to be removed to perform the repairs. A part had to be ordered, so we had repair done six days later. In the meantime, we disabled the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) feature. The car has now been fixed and appears to be operating properly, with AEB on.

Traveling about 30mph on a street, the car activated the automatic breaking for no apparent reason. The screen flashed the orange “BREAK” sign at the same time that the car slammed the brakes on (with no prior warning). There were no cars in front, next to, or around me to the sides. There were no people or animals around and the weather was fully clear. The car behind me honked loudly at the sudden breaking of my vehicle. Everything in my car flew forwards (bags falling off the seat into the foot bed). It was very dangerous and I was lucky to avoid being hit from behind. I believe I injured my back and neck from the short stop as well. And my car just went through a full inspection at Firestone two days ago and everything checked out fine. The breaks activated for absolutely no apparent reason.

Our 2019 Honda CRV had all warning lights on and flashing non-stop on the dash. We contacted Honda support and was asked to take car to a Honda dealer for diagnostics. We took the car to a Honda dealer in Huston TX. They found the cause DTC P0301, a internal failure to fuel injectors. We had to pay the dealer cash $$$$. We submitted the all repair documentations to Honda and asked for a reimbursement. Honda Co should have refund this repair cost!! It's so unfair that Honda denied to cover this recall repair just because somehow our car was not in the recall list!

Hello I have been so upset with Honda. I’ve owned many Hondas and other cars in my past and never had any problems. I would tell anyone to buy a Honda until now. My daughter has been driving my car and she said it smelled bad and all the lights kept coming on. We took it to a mechanic and at that time they didn’t really see anything wrong with it. My daughter kept driving it and we found out about the recall and called to have that fixed and they said they don’t have the part and they don’t know when they will get it. Well that was upsetting because we felt that was an issue with the car and we didn’t understand why they couldn’t just order the part give us something else to drive until they got it in but no such luck. The last time I talked to Honda in Marion, Ohio they said I didn’t need the part but clearly that is wrong. Well the part I’m the most upset about is my daughter could have died driving down the road and all the lights came on in the vehicle and it would not drive while she’s out in the middle of nowhere scared half to death. We get the vehicle to Honda and they say it’s the fuel injectors. I’m like no one’s fuel injectors go out. Well I look it up and it’s a huge problem for Honda and they just don’t want to pay to have them replaced. It has cost me $2000 and had to get another car to drive and my Honda still isn’t driving very good and still no recall fixed. This is wrong! I am very disappointed in Honda and shocked. What can I do about this situation?

I was driving on the highway in Atlanta at approximately average highway speed. I hit the break to avoid a vehicle - I don’t thin the extent of breaking was unusual breaking, but perhaps a bit harder than usual - and then I removed my foot off the break. The problem arose when the break remained engaged after I removed my foot from the break. Cars around me swerved in all directions to avoid hitting me. Eventually, perhaps one to two seconds later, the break disengaged and I was able to control the vehicle. I was alarmed that the break remained engaged after I removed my foot from the break and felt I had no control of the vehicle.

I was driving my car in the city going 40 mph down a 4-lane road. There was no other traffic on the road at that time ahead of me, and the conditions of the roadway were dry with sunny weather. My vehicle's dashboard flashed and indicated automatic emergency breaking a couple of times, and suddenly slammed on the brakes. If the driver behind me had not been paying attention, then they could have rear-ended me causing injuries to the occupants of both vehicles. I was able to keep the vehicle in my lane, but the seatbelt knocked the air out of me due to the abrupt nature of the stop. I called the dealership, and they were not sure what caused it but informed me that I should wait until it does it again before bringing it in to be recalibrated.

The passenger side seat weight sensor assembly failed. It is available for inspection. The vehicle has been inspected and repaired by a certified Honda dealer. The airbag light stayed on beginning in December 2023. The SRS warning light came on in March 2024. This defect was subject to a recall of CRV’s manufactured from 2020 to 2022. We believe the 2019 vehicles were affected also and should have been part of the recall. Honda has recognized this problem and has reimbursed us $800 of the $1758.68 of the repair bill.

It caused me to take my eyes off the road to look around my vehicle and in the rear-view mirror to see what had happened. Nothing hit the vehicle! Luckily, there were no other vehicles nor pedestrians nearby. I maintained staying in my lane, but I was completely distracted by the sound, this could have been dangerous! Also luckily, the interior sunroof shade was closed or I'd have been showered in broken glass. The service manager at the dealer I called, Greensboro Honda, said "I'm not going to lie, I have heard of this happening before". There are many reports of this happening online and, according to news station reports, an NHTSA investigation that was closed in 2021 citing that it “has not identified sufficient evidence of a safety-related defect in the subject sunroof.” On the same day the incident occurred, my vehicle was inspected by the Service employees of Honda of Greensboro, NC. After using the LKAS at 36,300 miles I observed stickiness in the steering wheel. I drove it for awhile but the stickiness makes it difficult to steer and could cause an accident. I took it to the dealer and now at 37,000 miles it needs a complete rack and pinion steering assembly at almost $4000 dollars. I have been driving cars since the 1970's and this is the first steering issue I have encountered. You would think that steering would be a system they have mastered by now. I also know that slightly older Honda CRV's (IE, 2018 model year) have been recalled for an issue like this due to improper heat treatment of the gears in the rack and pinion system. My guess is that the same parts in that model year are also in the 2019 model and it should b added to the recall as well. This system should not fail at only 37,000 miles.

While driving my CRV in mid July 2023, I experienced engine stall, dash board flashing all kinds of error codes. I was a couple of miles away from home and was able to drive slowly home. Next day I had my vehicle towed to a local auto body shop for diagnosis. Body shop reported that my vehicle was under a recall for the problem with the fuel pump. We then had my vehicle towed to nearest Honda Dealer, Clawson Honda of Fresno. They agreed that the problem was because of the fuel pump, but at the time my VIN did not fall under current recall. I was told to keep my receipts for future reimbursement should the recall be revised to include my VIN. It now has. The dealer had my vehicle from July 14th to Aug 31st, stating parts were unavailable because of the volume of the recall. The finally just replace the whole fuel pump. I filed for reimbursement providing all documents required and was denied because the part number on the recall did not match the part number on the invoice. I called the dealership and asked if I needed to have the recalled part replaced and was told no because it was part of the whole fuel pump that was already replaced. I tried calling Honda again to contest the denial decision and was shut down, not allowed to contest the decision.

The notice also mentions the possibility that the part will not be available until Fall 2024. Altogether, this will be almost 9 months of driving a defective vehicle. I've contacted the company and the dealership several times to ask for a remedy, perhaps a loaner vehicle or reimbursement for car services, and no one has offered any remedy, and I am left driving an unsafe car. I understand the shortage of parts but for those that rely on their vehicles 9 months for a replacement part is excessive.
