Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2009-2014 Acura TSX, 2011-2014 TSX Sport Wagon, 2010-2013 ZDX, 2008-2012 Honda Accord, 2010-2011 Accord Crosstour, 2006-2011 Civic and Civic Hybrid, 2008-2010 Civic GX NGV, 2012-2015 Crosstour, 2007-2011 CR-V, 2009-2013 Fit, 2014 Fit EV, 2010-2014 Insight, and 2009-2015 Pilot vehicles. The vehicles are equipped with passenger frontal air bag inflators assembled as a recall remedy part or replacement service part, that may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.

Risk. An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

Remedy. Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began August 12, 2019. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are F5F and Q5E.

Defect. Remedy. Honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the inflator installation and, if necessary, replace the passenger frontal air bag module assembly, free of charge. Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2008-2012 Accord, 2010-2012 Accord Crosstour, 2006-2011 Civic, 2007-2011 CR-V, 2009-2012 Fit and Pilot, 2010-2012 Insight, and 2009-2012 Acura TSX vehicles that received replacement passenger frontal air bag inflators. One dealership may have incorrectly installed the replacement air bag inflators.

Defect. HONDA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 ACCORD CROSSTOUR VEHICLES. THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ASSEMBLED ACCORDING TO CORRECT SPECIFICATIONS.

Risk. IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG MAY NOT DEPLOY AS INTENDED AND COULD PLACE AN UNBELTED CHILD SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AT GREATER RISK OF INJURY SHOULD THE AIRBAG DEPLOY.

Remedy. DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG MODULE IF NECESSARY FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 20, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA AUTOMOBILE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-999-1009.

I have been experiencing serious problems with my 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour. In 2013 there was a lawsuit against Honda due to an oil consumption and it stated ALL 2010 Honda Accord Crosstours and since a recall was never issued Honda denied fixing my car. After a lawsuit Honda should have been court appointed to fix everyone of the million cars with the defective engines!!!! The consumer shouldnt have to replace anything. My car completely shutdown) weeks ago while I was driving major safety issue don’t you think geez will it take people to die before they replace all these defective engines??? Oil is leaking into the combustion chamber and thats a defective problem per manufacturer!!!!!! You need to do an investigation on this because it’s the V-6 J35Z2 that they put in majority of there cars and it’s defective that should be against the law!!!!!!!!! I have had so many repairs on this Honda that shouldn’t have had to be done on a Honda. My last Honda had the engine before this defective one and it was great never had a problem. It’s nit the consumers fault so Honda should have to replace all those engines and it should be the lemon law if being sold after a lawsuit on them and they shouldn’t be abje to sell a defective engine knowingly!!!!! Someone need to step up for the consumer in this matter because warranty can’t even apply when it was defective before anyobe purchased the vehicle.!!!!!!!!! DO SOMETHING

I am writing to address a serious matter regarding my 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour, which has been facing recurrent misfires due to what appears to be a manufacturer-induced oil consumption defect in the engine design. Over the past 18 months, I have experienced extensive repairs on my Honda, surpassing any issues I have encountered with previous vehicles. Despite my diligent efforts In maintaining the car with regular tune-ups and oil changes , it is disheartening to witness fluids seeping into the engine, causing damage to multiple components. I have invested a significant amount of money into resolving these issues, expenses that should not have arisen with a Honda vehicle, given my positive experiences with the brand in the past. Upon contacting customer service and receiving a case number, I have found the assistance provided to be inadequate in addressing these issues severity of the situation. The recent revelation of a 2014 lawsuit further compounds my concerns, as it appears that Honda seeks to evade accountability for widespread engine malfunctions, leaving loyal customers like myself in a distressing predicament. Despite the substantial financial outlay exceeding $1200, my vehicle remains inoperable due to the unintended consequences of the oil leakage onto pistons, a situation exacerbated by the lack of proactive measures from Honda in rectifying this critical issue. I have meticulously preserved all documentation, including receipts

Vehicle caught on fire while parked. Firefighter stated that this was the “third or fourth” of the same make and model he has dealt with. A google search stated that this year make and model had recalls for fires in Florida and other states. I had searched the vin for recalls prior to this happening to ensure this vehicle was safe and there were no recalls associated with the vin.

Have been advised the eco system is causing oil to leak out into the engine cause oil build-up and other issues.

Horrible steering. e brake gets stuck. High rpm at times

Drove to Atlanta March 2023 to [XXX] , while driving to Atlanta on 85 I notice that my car was automatically speeding up after braking. I drove to address above pulled into drive way with my foot on the brakes the car a few feet from the garage just accelerated and I had no time to react before it was in the garage hit my niece [XXX] car and her car almost went into the house but the freezer stopped it but destroyed her car garage door and freezer, doorway entrance to the house from garage. Reported Accident to State Farm no police was called. We reported the accident immediately her car was totaled. State Farm policy [XXXXXXXX] there was no warning signals except that I had notice that it was accelerating without my assistance. The vehicle stop driving on the middle of the road. I heard a loud power sound. It don't crack up at all. No one can find out what wrong with it.

I traded this vehicle in to AutoNation Acura South Bay in Torrance CA on 1/2/23 and purchased one of theirs. My 2010 Honda trade had 233,566 miles. They failed to forward my vehicle release to DMV and I began receiving parking tkts. I contacted the dealer. They said it was taken care of. I kept getting toll evasions. I contact the dealer again and requested they send me a copy of what they said was sent to DMV. When I reviewed the DMV registration report, I saw the odometer had been rolled back to read 105,266 . That is a difference of 128,300 miles. That is fraud and a extreme safety hazard to that buyer and other drivers.

The contact owns a 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour. The contact stated while driving 50-70 MPH, he heard abnormal sounds coming from the engine, and the vehicle hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the engine cylinder number four (4) misfired. The independent mechanic replaced all the spark plugs; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic three times and the spark plug in cylinder number four (4) was replaced on each occasion; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the failure recurred 4-5 months after the repair. The contact related the failure to Honda Technical Service Bulletin Number: 13-078. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.

I purchased this car in June 2021 for my grandson as high school graduation gift and entrance in college. Driving at a speed of 55 the car tremble uncontrollably and cuts off. I was told that oil leak into the catalytic converters. I had to replace catalytic converters, clean piston, constantly changing spark plugs car misfires, had to replace air conditioner and most of the electrical. What is next. Honda settled a lawsuit March 2014 which this car was apart of it. I wish I would’ve know before I purchased this car. That class action lawsuit needs to be reopened.

The contact owns a 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour. The contact stated while driving 55 mph, the check engine warning light was illuminated. There was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated while stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle failed to properly accelerate. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 117,194.

OIL CONSUMPTION IS MORE THAN IT SHOULD BE. I HAVE TO ADD OIL BETWEEN CHANGES AND I ALWAYS GET A MISFIRE BECAUSE MY ENGINE IS TRASH

MY CAR JERKS FROM THE VCM MODULE ON THE CAR USUALLY WHEN GOING AROUND 40 MPH ESPECIALLY WHEN ENTERING A TURN( I DRIVE MOSTLY ON A 2 LANE HIGHWAY) WHICH MAKES ME FEEL UNSAFE BECAUSE IT HAPPENS WHEN IT SHUTS DOWN CYLINDERS AND JERKS THE CAR HARD SOMETIMES AND GIVES A SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF TORQUE. I RECENTLY PURCHASED A HONDA ACCORD CROSSTOUR 2010 WITH 72K MILES ON THEIR 3.5L V6 ENGINE AND WAS NOT INFORMED ABOUT HONDA BEING SUED FOR THEIR VCM MODULE THAT SHUTS DOWN CYLINDERS. IT RUINS PISTON RINGS, BREAKS ENGINE MOUNTS, MISFIRING, BURNING OIL, AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST BENT PISTON RODS ALL SO YOU CAN GET 1 MORE MILE PER GALLON. I WOULD LIKE FOR HONDA TO DO A RECALL TO FIX ENGINES THAT ARE DAMAGED AND TO FINALLY GIVE THEIR BUYERS AN OPTION TO TURN THE VCM OFF WHICH IS KNOWN TO PREVENT THOSE PROBLEMS AND MAKE THE CAR NOT JERK.I GOT 75K MILES NOW AND JERKING HAS GOTTEN WORSE TO WHERE I'M TRYING TO FIND WAYS TO TURN IT OFF. AT APPROXIMATELY 100,000 MILES, AFTER IT IS WARMED UP, THE TRANSMISSION STARTS TO THUMP/CLUNK WHEN IT DOWNSHIFTS FROM 3RD TO 2ND GEAR WHEN SLOWING AND APPROACHING A STOP ON URBAN STREETS.

WHILE DRIVING MY 2010 HONDA ACCORD CROSSTOUR ON THE FREEWAY THE ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING, I IMMEDIATELY TOOK MY CAR TO HONDA OF STOCKTON. THEY NOTIFIED ME THAT MY CAR IS BURNING OIL EXCESSIVELY. BANK 1 PRESSURE SWITCH /BANK 2 PRESSURE CODE P3400 /P3497 VPS STUCK OFF BOTH BANKS. CHECK ENGINE COME ON AND ECO WILL NOT WORK THEY CHARGED ME $150.00. HONDA TESTED THE VEHICLE AND HAS EVIDENCE OF THE EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. I RESEARCHED THIS DUE TO THEM SAYING TO FIX THIS ISSUE IT WOULD COST ME $8000 AND FOUND THERE IS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ADD FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT THE DEALERSHIP SAYS MY CAR DOES NOT QUALIFY. THE EXTENDED WARRANTY RECALL STATES THAT 2010 HONDA ACCORD'S QUALIFY, BUT THEY WILL NOT MAKE REPAIRS FOR EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION WHICH HAS CAUSED MY CATALYTIC CONVERTERS TO FAIL AS WELL AS MY SPARK PLUGS AND PISTON RINGS. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND ADVISED THE MECHANIC THIS IS CALLED THE VTC ACUATOR AND SEEMS TO BE COMMON IN 2008 TO 2011 HONDA ACCORD'S.THE DEALER INSTRUCTED ME NOT TO DRIVE MY CAR IT COULD CATCH FIRE AND BLOW UP AND TO CONTACT CORPORATE WHICH IS MY NEXT STEP.

ABS/ AIRBAG SYSTEM STAYING ON AND IT APPEARS TO BE AFFECTING CHARGING SYSTEM ISSUES AND/OR ALTERNATOR! DIAGNOSTIC TEST SHOW ABS & CHARGING SYSTEM ISSUES. MY CAR IS NOW INOPERABLE!!

ONCE A YEAR WHILE DRIVING THE FRONT END OF THE CAR STARTS MAKING A LOUD THUMPING NOISE. IT ALMOST SOUNDS LIKE THE ENGINE IS THUMPING AGAINST THE FRONT HOOD. THE CAR WILL THEN COMPLETELY BREAK DOWN. WHEN TRYING TO START THE CAR AGAIN IT WILL NOT START, BUT THE LIGHTS AND RADIO WILL TURN ON. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR TO HONDA THE ADVISOR FIRST ADVISED THE PISTON RINGS IN THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACE, BUT I GUESS SINCE THE CAR SERVICE MANAGER DID NOT WANT TO REPLACE IT HE HAD THE TEAM REPLACE MY STARK PLUGS.

WAS TOLD THE CAR IS EXPERIENCING EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION AND REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS FOR THE SECOND TIME IN LESS THAN A YEAR.

THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON,AND FLASHES.GENERATING A P0303 MISFIRE CODE.THE SPARK PLUG ON THAT PARTICULAR CYLINDER IS OIL FOULED,CAUSING THE MISFIRE.THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF NORTH DAKOTA DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ON THE INTERSTATE LAST WINTER.THE SPARK PLUGS WERE CHANGED BY ME ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. CYLINDER THREE SPARK PLUG WAS VERY HEAVILY OIL FOULED.AFTER REPLACEMENT OF THE SPARK PLUGS,THE MISFIRE DID NOT CONTINUE AT THAT POINT,CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OUT.NO FURTHER ACTION WAS TAKEN.THAT HAPPENED ON NOVEMBER 30TH 2016.THE MOST RECENT EVENT HAPPENED APRIL 17TH.THE CAR WAS RUNNING ROUGH AGAIN UPON STARTUP,AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHING.BROUGHT THE CAR TO MY MECHANIC WHO INSPECTED,AND FOUND CODE P0303 CYLINDER MISFIRE. #3 PLUG VERY SATURATED WITH OIL, AND FOULED. PLEASE SEE ATTACHMENT FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.

THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK THE CAR TO PENSKE HONDA ON MAY 17TH 2017. I WAS TOLD VCM2 MISFIRE -FOULED PLUGS, SOFTWARE UPDATE AND REPLACE REAR ROCKER ARM OIL PRESSURE SWITCH. ON MARCH 26, 2018 THE FRONT ROCKER ARM OIL PRESSURE SWITCH WAS DIAGNOSED AS FAULTY AS THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP. TWO DAYS LATER I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN THE SAME DAY I PICKED THE CAR UP ON MARCH 30TH 2018.
