My ford van has vibrations between 20-40 miles. Many other ford transits has recalls for this. The issues is with the drive shaft and the drive shaft yoke.

On 17 November, 2023, at approximately 12 PM, I was traveling down the highway at approximately 55 mph. I suddenly heard a loud pop coming from directly under the cab and a subsequent rattling. It lasted for about 15 seconds, went away, and then lasted for another five seconds before completely stopping. Upon parking the vehicle, I crawled underneath and noticed that the flex coupling between the transmission and drive axle was missing two big chunks, and it appeared that a part of that material was lodged into the fire wall above the transmission underneath the floorboard. Also, present was a lot of strands of fiberglass from the coupling material. I immediately searched the Internet for some information regarding this and came upon an active recall that was published in 2019 for certain Ford transits manufactured 2015 to 2017. My vehicle is a 2016 Ford transit 250. It is my belief that this coupling issue that Ford published for recalls was not caught on my vehicle, and I have a concern that my vehicle may have fallen under that safety recall. Would like to know if an inspection could be done and some research to determine if my vehicle, in fact, falls within that recall.
Vehicle goes into "limp" mode while on highway losing the ability to control the acceleration. The van has to coast to a stop, turn off the engine, then restart. The throttle body was replaced twice (3/2/21 and 11/21/22). This causes a major safety risk for the driver, passenger and all other drivers on the road. Losing control of the vehicle mechanically without warning and in such a sporadic fashion is unacceptable at this age and mileage. 170,245 miles & 219,118 miles.
Freeway driving at rush hour, engine light came on suddenly, no other previous warning, with catastrophic engine failure, pull over immediately. I was able to coast to shoulder. No injuries. Could have caused an accident. Van is now at dealer, diagnosis unknown.

The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V767000 (Power Train), and the VIN was included. I received a safety recall via mail for a driveshaft coupling malfunction. I had no noticeable problem with my vehicle safety nor did I have a warning light or message on the instrument panel. I turned in the vehicle to the local "Gosch" Ford dealership to perform the inspection. My vehicle was turned in on 07/21/2021 and the dealership has yet to receive the part. However, it has not been returned to me with the dealer citing the fact that it is unsafe to drive without the repair. I continue to receive the same statement that I need to wait and check back each week.
While on a road trip with my 6 kids, I had a brake issue with my 2016 Ford Transit. The first time it happened, I was driving about 55 mph, hit the brakes and the engine revved & accelerated. I pumped the brakes, engine stopped revving. Honestly thought I did something wrong. Same thing happened again two days later. I stopped and cleaned the sensors hoping that would resolve the issue. The next day the same thing happened making it hard to stop. I went straight to Ford and had two Ford dealerships tell me the vehicle was fine. Brakes were checked and was told no problems. I asked if it could be a leak in brake booster and was told no. No lights were coming on. I took the van to Les Schwab and was told the same thing. Unsure what to do, my brother came to the rescue and took the van. He started driving it home to California from Colorado. I rented an RV and continued our road trip. 80 miles later, the engine on the van made a loud bang and ceased. No engine lights. My brother said the engine started having acceleration problems so he stopped and checked all of the fluids. Everything was fine and engine was not overheated. But, complete engine failure at 79,000 miles. This was July. Since then, we paid to have a new engine installed. My husband flew out to pick up the van and new engine started having problems. He had to fly back home. Ford has said that the new engine is bad so they are paying for rental car and getting another new engine installed. Still do not have van. It'

Exhaust manifold leaking. According to the Ford dealership at Encinitas California (see attached report by the service dept) my ford transit has a leaking exhaust manifold. Apparently, this is not an uncommon failure with these 3.5 eco-boost engines. It appears to be a design flaw in the bolt pattern which allows the manifold to warp. I noticed this problem with approximately 75,000 miles. The vehicle developed a loud chirping or ringing sound but no warning lights. This leaking and failed exhaust system is allowing noxious gas to build up in the engine compartment and possibly leaking into the passenger compartment.

I was notified for a **recall** on the DRIVE SHAFT sometime early this year ( Feb / March 2021)... I have about 24,000 miles on the van. I also reported humming noise after reaching 35 to 40 mph... and then more noise ( humming noise ) after reaching 65 mph on the expressway. I took my van to Northgate Ford, where I purchased new. They said they had the parts ordered etc. I left the van there for several days...Then I was notified that they put on the new replacement driveshaft,,,, assuming it was correct and BALANCED.... the service manager notified me that the replacement driveshaft installed was NOT BALANCED and was causing all kinds of vibration problems / issues... steering wheel, driving, etc.... upon taking the van back several times.... and getting a new corrected balance driveshaft, installed that. However,,, still more problems,,, humming and vibrations, etc. they looked at the DIFFERRENCIAL ,,,, and found that all the bearings were bad,,, had to wait 4 to 6 weeks to get replacements......I told them that anything that SPINS... and not balanced is causing more vibration problems through out the van,,, engine, transmission, exhaust system, brakes, name it,,, etc. I picked up the van on June 28, 2021.. note... they gave me an extended warranty until 2024 ( 3 years ) and milage of 75,000 miles... Looks like expecting more major problems, etc..... I still have the **humming noise over 35 mph... and getting louder... I have seen articles about possible exhaust / muffler
Engine dies without warning. Stalled in the middle of traffic, luckily this did not result in an accident. This has happened twice in the span of one month. April 25th 2021 and May 14th 2021. Ford dealer (Ford of Montebello) could not figure out why it does this (it has been doing this intermittently since the vehicle was purchased new in 2016. It has done this in the past. I am taking the vehicle back to dealer (again) to see if they can figure it out this time around. Scan tool produces no engine fault codes. Vehicle drives perfectly fine after each incident.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
