I repeatedly get two error messages, front camera fault and pre collision assist unavailable. It happened randomly until it finally went out completely. I've spoken to many other owners who are having the same problem and it seems that there is not fix. This causes the cruise control and lane keeping assist to become unavailable. Myself and many other owners have attempted to get this issue resolved multiple times and it seems that there isn't a fix and the manufacturer is not speaking out about it. My car is currently at the repair shop for it's 3rd visit to resolve this same issue. The dealership is unaware of how to resolve it and are waiting for Ford to find a resolution. This has been an issue since April and the repairs attempts started when the camera went completely out in May. This is a big safety issue if the care can not pick up the threat of a front collision. With the pre collision assist unavailable it something were to happen while driving, the emergency brake system will not activate. I feel that this issue should be addressed.

Phone as a key. My Mach e was only distributed 1 single key and then setup on the PAAK option for the secondary access. Unfortunately this option does not work 100 percent of the time. A second key is needed. My husband left in a separate vehicle with the main key. I had to leave later for an appointment and when I got to my car it would not open. Start. Or respond to the PAAK. I was stranded until he Returned. I went to the dealer for assistance with getting the second key like all other vehicles and was advised they couldn’t help i needed my vin added to the recall for my model Car. Please assist. A Second key is necessary. There was a recall for the same models up to the month before mine and also ones after mine are getting the second key.

On 10/1/2022 when I placed the vehicle in reverse without touching the accelerator, the vehicle on its own accelerated backwards. It has done this x2 other times. Also, with the foot off the accelerator the vehicle has accelerated forward on its own.

Filed Oct 2, 2022TX

On 8/22/2022 received a powertrain malfunction notice by Ford. Since that time on four occasions the vehicle has lost power causing a significant jerking and loud thud. It loses all power. This has happened twice after Blue Cruise has disengaged. Two other times include when the vehicle was placed in drive or reverse. It also caused a lurching motion after it engaged without the foot on the accelerator.

Forward Collision Avoidance › Adaptive Cruise Control

Ford has recently released a software update that causes Front Camera Faults when going over bumpy roads and across multiple conditions. This causes the Blue Cruise cruise control system to suddenly stop working when driving at highway speeds. When coupled with One Pedal driving, this could cause brakes to slam on while driving at highway speeds. Additionally, forward emergency breaking does not work until this fault resets (after ~1-2 minutes typically). This happens constantly when driving and causes safety hazards.

Service Brakes
Filed Sep 25, 2022NJ

The rear brake pads have grinned into the rotors causing a rusted ring around the rear rotors. During braking, harsh metal-on-metal noise can be heard in low speed braking applications. Performance-wise, noticeably longer braking distances in low speed braking applications were observed. I Have been to the dealership multiple times however, I was told this was ‘normal’ by chief service managers. Loud braking noise and weakened braking performance should not be observed after fewer than 11k miles and less than a year of ownership.

Two problems on multiple separate occasions occurred. 1st problem - more than twenty (20) times car had suddenly accelerated or slowed down while driving with cruise control. This supposedly should have been resolved with an update that was downloaded around a month ago. Nothing changed, car still accelerates or slows down randomly. 2nd problem - occurred at least five times. Car suddenly loosing power while entering the traffic including entering highway. Drivetrain malfunction warning was displayed on dashboard after last lost of power when entering intersection. After latest incident on September 13th car is being repaired at the dealership.

I had been driving without issue, no warnings from the car. I parked at a gas station to get a snack. When I got back in the car could not be started or driven. It has to be placed on a flatbed and towed to the dealer. The message on start was “Stop safely now”. My vehicle had Safety Recall 22S41, which obviously does NOT fix the issue.

My 2021 Mustang Mach-E GT Performance is exhibiting a Powertrain Failure and Stop Safely Now message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). It is due to a high voltage battery junction box (HVBJB) failure. Ford needs to replace the HVBJB with an updated part and reprogram the BECM, at least. The dealer has no information on the replacement part, and has not associated TSB 21-2178 with the vehicle.

The hands-free steering control Does not give a loud warning or much notice as it shuts off quickly as it did to me as I switched from southbound 805 to southbound 163 in San Diego. The hands-free steering veered off of the 163 entrance ramp towards the crash barrels and I was barely able to get control and avoid a crash. About 5 miles further down the road as it was going hands-free on 163 underneath interstate 8 and there is a curve to the left but my vehicle kept going straight and I barely missed other cars in the next lane as the hands-free steering suddenly stopped with no loud notice. Luckily, I was paying very good attention which is hard to do when you’re talking to other people in the car and driving hands-free. I had less than two seconds notification to take full control and avoid a wreck. My brother was a passenger as I was taking him to the airport. In the past I have been qualified as a professional racecar driver and I have a masters in mechanical engineering and have much experience with electronics as I produce electric vehicles . I also owned a Tesla model three for a couple years and the autonomous driving was scary on it at times. My wife would not let me put it on autonomous as these vehicles are back-and-forth in their lane so much that passengers get scared. I am selling my 2021 mustang Mach-E before it kills me. I love the car and the handling and acceleration but after the dealer installed this hands-free, I am scared. The two incidents today and sev

My vehicle has 13,000 miles on it and I have been driving it without any problems until August 12, 2022 when I turned the vehicle on and there was "service now" and a "Battery service" message. I was aware of this problem because it was posted online and Ford has sent me mail about this problem but I thought it could be fixed by an over the air update, which I performed already. So I contacted the nearest dealer to book an appointment to remedy this issue but the next available appointment was on August 31st so it was 2 weeks from then. I decided to give it a shot and drive it and I was able to drive approximately 40 miles before the car shut down as I was turning right on a stoplight on my way to work. The propulsion did not work along with a series of multiple error messages on all systems. I was able to bring the car to the side of the road, in front of a tire service company's parking lot. I tried to start and restart it but to no avail. I called the nearest Ford dealership and they accepted my vehicle so I called a towing service to tow my vehicle to them. I decided to step out of the vehicle and inform the establishment about the situation and that I called a towing service already. When I tried to get in, the doors did not work anymore so I was not able to get in. The towing service arrived and told me to put my car to neutral gear so she can pull it up the bed of the tow truck. I said I could not get in and she stated that she might damage the vehicle if she tried to

My vehicle had the NHTSA Recall Number 22V412 performed 2 weeks ago via an OTA update. Today while driving the vehicle I had critical failure while the vehicle was in motion rendering the vehicle unsafe. It was determined that the part which failed was the part addressed in the recall campaign. The recall should not be considered satisfactory remediation of the issue as it did nothing to prevent this safety concern with my vehicle. Software cannot fix an improperly designed piece of hardware.

The vehicle would not start and display an error message "pull over safely now" which the car was not able to put in any gear. This incident happened 2 times already. The first incident was when i drove the vehicle from Oregon to California. As i was about to leave the next morning from the hotel, the vehicle would not turn un and display the message "pull over safely now". We had to call a tow truck to pick up the vehicle and drop it off at a Dealership in California for about 30 days. We pick up the vehicle and drove back to Oregon and the same issue happen again in less than a week with the same error message "pull over safely now".

On May 14, 2022, I stopped twice on a 120 mile trip to recharge my Mach E at a level 3 DC charger. Upon completing each charge, the ring around the charging port turned red and I received a default message. I plugged my car into my home level 2 charger and the car completely locked down and I was unable to reenter the car. I have since learned that this is the classic sign of a HVBJB failure. The dealerships updated the car's programming but did not replace the HVBJB. The HVBJB subassembly in ALL Ford Mach-e vehicles has known defects with 'under-designed' main contactors that are known to fail under normal charging and driving conditions as outlined in current open Ford recall notice for my vehicle 22s41. Less catastrophic results can include failure to start; which can 'strand' driver's and passengers in remote areas, bad weather conditions, as well as cause loss of use for weeks due to delays in replacement parts and local Dealerships needing equipment and training to effect removal/replacement of faulty unit with a new HVBJB having re-designed 'beefier' components. My complaint is that Ford's recall notice 22s41

The side mirrors in my vehicle are motorized and set to automatically fold in when I lock the car after getting out. They rarely do this (not the issue, and they’re fine mechanically). When I get back in and start the vehicle they are supposed to automatically unfold. 1/3 to 1/2 the time they do not. More than once I have started driving in a parking lot to realize I have no side view mirrors. I have to stop and press the “fold/unfold” button to make them open. With the mirrors closed I am unable to see out them to check blind spots or look for pedestrians or other cars. I have learned to be very careful to check if the mirrors failed to unfold because of this. I have asked my dealer to look at this at least twice (most recently Monday). They can never reproduce it, both auto-fold and unfold work for them perfectly from what they say. That’s quite different from my experience. There are no errors or messages anywhere about this. My car has the most recent software (except possibly 22S41), none of the major or minor updates it has received have ever made a difference.

Ford Dealers are refusing to complete recalls 21V712 and 21V711. To quote an e-mail from O'Meara Ford in the Denver metro area that summarizes my conversations with every other dealership, "I’ve been informed that we will no longer complete the glass recalls on MACH E vehicles. Long story short Ford does not reimburse us enough money to cover these Recalls with our labor and sublet invoices, this may be why other Ford dealers are refusing to do the recalls." Ford is not guaranteeing reimbursement for the new roofs and windshields that all the dealerships need to order before doing the work because there is over a 50% chance they will break upon removal. Ford tells me they can do absolutely nothing (customer service case no. CAS-37570083-G3K5V9) and I told them they could pay more and they said they can't. Meanwhile NHTSA is also doing nothing as this is my second complaint in 2-3 months with nothing being done. I've now had four cancelled appointments from three different dealerships in the Denver Metro area.

While returning from vacation, driving home on the highway, our car suddenly stopped working. We had been traveling at approximately 65 mph on SR 1 in Delaware when I accelerated to pass another vehicle and the car suddenly jolted forward and the engine seized. I received a warning to pull to a safe location as soon as possible. Thankfully, we were able to pull the car over to the shoulder of the highway without incident. The cars electrical system gradually shut down, limiting our ability to place the vehicle in neutral for towing. Approximately 250 miles from home and forced to wait more than 2 hours in the 90 degree weather with no AC, we were forced to bring the car to the nearest ford dealership in new castle Delaware. Since the battery and power completely failed, the dealership had to jump the 12 volt battery several times to get the car back in neutral to remove the vehicle from the tow truck. We needed to find our own car rental as neither the dealership nor ford customer service would assist with getting us back home to NY.

My vehicle was built with under-specked high voltage battery joint assembly bracket. The failure of this connection has caused many incidents whereby the car cannot start, or suddenly stops while driving. The part is either not to original specification or was not designed correctly. In either case, providing a SW fix to simply limit the voltage does not actually prevent or correct the problem. As this fix has rolled out, there are numerous reports of the issue still happening. This is because the fix doesn't fix the original condition, it only serves to limit the scope going forward. But if the part has been in use for 2 years as mine is, then the damage has already occurred and the fix will not prevent my issue. The appropriate fix for the problem is a replacement HVBJB, which Ford is only installing AFTER the incident occurs. This is totally unacceptable and is simply an accident waiting to occur. The SW fix is analogous to the original attempt by GM to correct the Bolt battery fire situation. Eventually, the batteries were replaced, which was the correct response. I am simply demanding that Ford follow a similar path. Consumer stated number for NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V412000.

My car had Ford recall campaign software patch 22S41 applied to it on Tuesday June 28, 2022. On Thursday June 30, 2022 (two days later), my car suffered its second catestrophic failure of its High Voltage Battery Junction Box. This failure was the exact safety problem Ford's recall software patch was representing to "fix". My family and I were driving from SF Bay Area to Los Angeles, and the car exhibited a "Service Vehicle Soon" warning while driving on I-5 South at Castic, CA. My power was limited to only 30% of available power, and I drove to a Ford dealer over 2 hours on local roads without turning off the car from the mountains in an attempt to not be stranded catestrophically. My vehicle is currently having its contactors replaced for a second time in less than 3 months, this time with a different revised part from Ford that has higher engineering tolerances. Ford refuses to offer this part to current owners of the Mach-E, and is awaiting owners to have their vehicles fail catestrophically like mine before providing access under warranty to a part that fixes their serious safety defect. New Mach-Es are produced in the factory with the revised contactors, which Ford would probably not do were the software patch it provides to current owners sufficient to address the safety issue.

While legally passing a car on a 2-lane highway, at over 50+ mph, the car lost motive power and began to shut down leaving me with no power facing on coming traffic. I had no choice but to force other cars to slow down behind me, causing another hazard, in order to get to the side of the road. I could have been killed in an oncoming car collision.

Back up camera has intermittently failed to turn on dozens of times causing risk of running over pedestrians, running over objects, or backing into another vehicle. At the first service dealership appointment: the dealership said they couldn't replicate the issue. The second dealership service appointment: the dealership said there was a Ford TSB (technical service bulletin) on the back up camera not functioning and recalibrated the backup camera but that did not fix the issue and the back up camera continued to fail to turn on. Dealership ordered a new back up camera and replaced the back up camera - hopefully that will remedy the issue??

On approximately March 20, 2022, I was driving my Mach E vehicle. I pulled into a driveway and parked my vehicle. Upon exiting my vehicle, my vehicle began accelerating forward up the inclined driveway. It then struck a parked vehicle and came to a stop. The car accelerated uninetentionally which is in alignment with the current recall. Additionally, the advanced emergency braking did not work as the brakes did not deploy and the car only went back to rest after I re-entered the car post-accident.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
