While driving back home from work on 07/22/21, I heard a noise on the front side of the car and lost power. I had to pull over to a parking spot in an apartment complex. My car wasn't moving forward or backward, I called Good Sam road assistance to get it towed on Friday, it has been inspected in a repair shop since then and apparently is a transmission issue. Good thing is there were no cars behind or in front of me and avoided a collision.
2014 Ford Fusion complaints
Owner reports filed with NHTSA about this vehicle, newest first and reproduced as filed. They are unverified accounts: one proves nothing, and a pattern across many is the thing worth reading. Back to the full 2014 record →
The yellow air bag light remains on constantly, indicating that there is an air bag malfunction. I believe there was an airbag recall on this vehicle, but I don't remember since I had five cars at one time.
While at drive through at Smoothie King, brakes just went out WITH NO WARNING. I had to press the brake pedal all the way to the ground and the car eventually stopped. Noone was hurt, no property or car was damaged (thank goodness) Slowly drove in parking lot and called wife to meet me. Then the indicator "Low brake fluid" flashed. Took other car to auto parts, purchase brake fluid. Went back to car, poured brake fluid in car. Did not help as still had to press brake pedal all the way to floor. Saw puddle of brake fluid on ground. Searched online and saw same issue on Ford Fusion reported as there was no warning. Some people got into an accident, others did not. When I called Ford today at 8:48 am, rep said VIN # not on recall but said there have been brake issues but my VIN # is not on recall. I do not want to pay for the cost as I would have to have the car towed to the Ford shop. I am being proactive to have it reported so it can be repaired at no cost like all of the recalls on my car.
Vehicle lost power steering mid turn almost causing loss of control, found multiple recalls for this issue in other years and models of the Ford Fusion.
Check Engine light and Wrench light illuminated on the car Sunday. However, the car was at the dealer twice the same week before this happened. I pulled over because the vehicle was performing rough into a Lowes parking lot. I was within several hundred feet of a Ford dealer and drove it there. The vehicle smelled like smoke and noise from the rear of the vehicle. Service advisor Roxanne Detgen, t. no. 586-840-1086, at Dorian Ford, says that the car likely needs a new engine. She has contacted Ford motor company and then will contact me to authorize a teardown of the engine. The vehicle is a safety risk because it had sudden poor driving performance without the illumination of any lights, loss of power, and is a fire hazard. In fact, it was at the dealer twice the same week this happened and no lights were on.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while his son was driving 45-50 mph, the low coolant warning light illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that his son was able to veer to side of the roadway, where he attempted to restart the vehicle but was unsuccessful. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The contact restarted the vehicle and the vehicle was then taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the engine coolant was leaking in the engine block. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V209000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 89,471.
While driving my 2014 Ford Fusion SE purchased in Ohio the power steering suddenly went out. This jeopardized the safety of my own children, children playing in my neighborhood, as well as, my own safety when I was left unable to steer the car. An independent mechanic diagnosed the problem. The driving gear was exposed to salt and brine due to the harsh Ohio winters. The sub-quality bolts, used by Ford, corroded and sheered allowing the driving gear to become completely detached. There is already a recall for this very issue, Reference# 19V632000. I ask that my vehicle be added to this recall. Thank you for your dedication to keeping our roads and families safe. In Christ, S. I purchased 4 x Michelin Sport A/S Plus 225/50R17's in December of 2017 and have driven those set of tires 30,000 miles on a 45,000 mile tire. My car started wobbling and so I checked the tire and found severe wear in the INSIDE wall/top of both of my rear tires. I had to purchase two new tires because I felt it was not safe to drive. I have included a picture and you will see there is tread left on the tire and worn uneven. I also feel these tires are faulty and could cause an accident.
I WAS DRIVING ON EXPRESSWAY WITH MY KIDS. WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL LOCK UP MID DRIVING AND I COULDNT CONTROL THE WHEEL VERY DANGEROUS. ESPECIALLY HAPPENING ON THE EXPRESSWAY WITH MY CHILDREN ABOARD. WORST COULD HAVE HAPPEN BUT THANK GOD I WAS ABLE TO DODGE AN CAR AN SLOW DOWN TO I STOP AN TURN ON HAZZER LIGHTS AND BREAK. I COULDNT TURN THE WHEEL AT ALL IT WAS VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE. IT WAS DISPLAYING MESSAGES PWER STEERING FAILURE AND ONE OTHER MESSAGE. I TRIED TURNING CAR OFF AND TURNING IT BACK ON BUT THAT DIDNT WORK. I HAD TO GET THE CAR TOWED TO FORD DEALERSHIP IN UNION CITY, GA. WHERE THEY FOUND OUT IT WAS THE PWERSTEERING SYSTEM THAT FAILED COSTING $2600 IN REPAIRS THAT I DIDNT HAVE AND I NEEDED MY CAR FOR WORK. SO I HAD TO COME UP WITH THE MONEY TO FIX AN REPAIR THAT SHOULDNT HAVE HAPPEN. MY KIDS AND I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. THIS HAPPEN JUNE 2020 I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES SUDMITTED DOCUMENTS OF REPAIRS AND RECIEPTS. STILL NO WORLD ON ADDING IT TO THE RECALL LIST TO SAVE OTHERS KNOWNING THIS HAS BEEN AN MAJOR ISSUE IN THESE CARS AS WELL AS i WAS TOLD THAT YOU ALL WOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR REPAIRS. STILL NO WORD YET AND ITS BEEN A YEAR. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP.
I was driving and all of a sudden these alerts popped up and my power steering was lost.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and attempting to place the rear driver’s side and center seat in the upright position, the seats failed to move. The contact removed the bottom half of the seat bracket to get the seat in the upright position. The contact was however unable to reconnect the seat belt back in the correct position. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximate 70,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle would misfire without warning. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed and repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was informed of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 106,000.
On June 15th, 2021 The APM module stopped working as well as the audio control module in my 2014 Ford fusion. The radio did not work. The phone remained connected, I could call out, people could dial in, people could hear me but I could not hear them. Since my hands-free device no longer worked that put me at a safety risk. I am currently paying for the dealer to replace the APIM module, and they have already replaced the audio control module at my cost. The component is under recall for multiple other Ford Models. There has been a technical safety bulletin on it for my model and they have replaced it up to six years. Mine did not go out until the 7th year.
I pulled out of my drive way and immediately the dash board lite up saying hill start assist not available, steering assist fault service required. So I backed up to the drive way and the power steering completely stopped working.
The contact's wife owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while his wife was driving 15 mph, the low engine coolant warning light was illuminated and the vehicle went into limp mode. The driver parked the vehicle on the side of the road. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the engine to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,900.
The vehicle was taken to the dealer for recalls, I was told all the recalls with a door latch were fixed. Now the door latch won’t close and the door stays open. Reached out to Ford and since it is the weekend ford is ignoring the matter until a dealer is open and it can be towed there. This is a safety matter that ford is ignoring.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while entering and starting the vehicle she noticed that the center console display screen started flashing with lines and numbers running on the screen before going completely white. The contact stated that the failure stayed that way for a couple of days and went away but the failure recurred several times afterward. The next time the failure occurred, the contact was driving at undisclosed speed at night and the screen was flashing continually which made it difficult for the contact to see anything in front of her vehicle. The contact pulled over and restarted the vehicle and continued driving to the residence. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the display was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact suffered from epilepsy seizures and was concerned that while driving, the failure could trigger a seizure. The manufacture was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 76,046.
Coolant leaking into engine. Misfires, stalling, white smoke from tail pipe.
I had and issue with vehicle check engine light. Took it to ganley ford west in cleveland Ohio. They replaced purge valve and 2 years later it is throwing purge valve. Code again. They also did some work on motor . They replaced water pump and a few other things. Shop seen loose bolts on intake.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the stability control off and steering assist fault messages was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle loses power steering functionality. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V632000 (Steering) however, the failure persisted. The contact then took the vehicle to Bob Thomas Ford West (5321 Illinois Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46804) where they performed a diagnosis and informed him that the steering gear needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the steering gear should have been replaced under the initial recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated upon exiting the vehicle, he noticed pieces of plastic bushings on the floorboard. The contact stated that the brake light was illuminated on the control panel. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed with the brake assembly needing to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and informed the contact that the failure was not covered under warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 34,600.
A warning message appeared referring to the steering system and hill assist. I have had the vehicle since 2017 and kept up maintenance as recommended by Ford. The steering becomes difficult at low speeds but improved with acceleration. This is a safety hazard because when slowing down to make a turn the delay from the struggle to turn the steering wheel could result in a collision. I have had the vehicle towed to the dealership for service. When checking recalls on the NHTSA app by YEAR/MAKE/MODEL, I discovered that this issue is common for drivers of my particular vehicle. See info below from www.NHTSA.gov: “ Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles manufactured February 3, 2012, to March 20, 2015, and 2015 Ford Edge vehicles manufactured February 26, 2015, to February 28, 2015, and originally sold, or currently registered in, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia. In the affected vehicles, snow or water containing road salt or other contaminants may corrode the electric power steering gear motor attachment bolts.” I live in NC and the vehicle has been through 3 Winters which could be responsible for the issue since salt is constantly spread on the roads to make driving conditions safer when ice and snow are
MY 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER CONTACTED ME SAYING HER CAR WOULD NOT 'GO', THAT SHE WAS DRIVING AND IT JUST DROPPED DOWN TO 20MPH AND ALTHOUGH SHE WAS ACCELERATING, NOTHING WAS HAPPENING, THE RPMS WERE NOT INCREASING. SHE TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND THEN TESTED DRIVING THROUGH A NEIGHBORHOOD BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE HOME AS SHE WAS IN ANOTHER CITY. EVERYTHING SEEMED WELL SO SHE BEGAN HER JOURNEY BACK HOME, ONLY TO MAKE IT ABOUT 2 MILES AND THE CAR WAS LOSING THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. SHE WAS ABLE TO PARK IT IN A NEIGHBORHOOD AND WAS GIVEN A RIDE HOME. WE THEN WENT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED AND UPON ARRIVING, I NOTICED THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED, BUT THE CAR WAS OFF. I DECIDED TO TRY TO DRIVE IT HOME SO THAT I COULD CONFIRM AND EXPERIENCE WHAT SHE DESCRIBED. I MAINTAINED A LOWER RATE OF SPEED, AROUND 40MPH. I DECIDED TO TRY TO PUT ON CRUISE CONTROL, BUT IT WOULD NOT WORK. AT ONE POINT WHERE THE CAR WAS LOSING THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE AND WAS ACTIVELY DECELERATING, I PULLED IN TO A CONVENIENCE STORE. I THEN NOTICES A 'HILL PARK ASSIST' WARNING LIGHT COME ON. I DID FINALLY DRIVE IT THE REMAINDER OF THE WAY HOME. ONCE HOME, I BEGAN RESEARCHING THE POSSIBLE ISSUES AND FOUND THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH FORDS. THERE WAS A SUGGESTION TO LOOK AT THE FLOOR BOARD, UPON DOING SO, I FOUND BROKEN PIECES OF A SILICON TYPE BUSHING. IN SUMMARY: THE 'BRAKE SWITCH ENGAGEMENT BUSHING' BROKE AWAY. THIS CAUSES THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO REMAIN ILLUMINATED, THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT ENGA
I WENT TO HAVE MY CAR INSPECTED AND IT PASSED BUT THEY GAVE ME A FORM WITH 4 RECALLS I NEED TO HAVE REPAIRED AT NO CHARGE ASAP PLEASE
PURCHASED THE 2014 FORD FUSION WITH 63,845 MILES ON IT. TWO WEEKS AFTER PURCHASE THE POWER STEERING LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING (TURNING THE VEHICLE) AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. TOOK IT BACK TO THE CAR DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED AND IT NEEDS A NEW STEERING RACK. RESEARCH INTO THIS SHOWED THAT FORD FUSIONS IN EARLIER YEAR MODELS HAD A RECALL FOR THIS VERY SAFETY CONCERN AND REPORTS OF MANY OTHERS IN THE MORE RECENT YEARS CONTINUING TO HAVE THIS SAFETY ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT'S WIFE OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED OVERHEATING AS INDICATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE THEN SHIFTED INTO LIMP MODE. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND ALLOWED THE VEHICLE TO COOL OFF HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE BECAME INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DICK SMITH FORD OF COLUMBIA (7201 GARNERS FERRY RD, COLUMBIA, SC 29209) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. SEVERAL UNKNOWN TROUBLE CODES WERE CLEARED AND THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE CONTACT. AFTER RETRIEVING THE VEHICLE, THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE AND WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE HEAD GASKET WAS BLOWN AND THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V209000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) WHICH HE LINKED TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED HIM THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 152,000.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN A PARKING LOT AND WHEN PROCEEDING TO TAKE OFF THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP AND WOULDN'T GO IN FORWARD OR REVERSE. HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED AND AFTER RESEARCHING FOUND OUT THAT FORD AND NISSAN HAD MAJOR ISSUES WITH THIS CVT TRANSMISSION AND HAVE CLASS ACTION SUITS. I AM A FULL TIME COLLEGE STUDENT AND JUST WANT IT REPAIRED, NEED HELP!
IN AUGUST OF 2020 I GOT IN CONTACT WITH FORD ABOUT MY RECALLS I TOOK TO FORD DEALERSHIP THEY KEPT MY CAR FOR ABOUT 2 DAYS I TOLD THEM MY DRIVER SEAT BELT WILL NOT LOCK I MENTIONED NO POWER VERY SLUGGISH AND GEAR DIDNT KICK IN PROPER. ON APRIL 11 2021 WHILE ON FREEWAY IN TRAFFIC THE CAR WOULD TURN OFF GO BACK ON AND SHIFT INTO GEAR ON ITS OWN I WAS ALMOST HIT FROM BEHIND AS I ALMOST HIT SOMEONE IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE THE CAR SHUT OFF I THREW IN NEUTRAL PRESS THE GAS AND CAR STARTED UP AND JERKED WHILE CAR PICKED UP SPEED THEN SLOWED ON ITS OWN I NOW PUT IN REVERSE IT GOES FORWARD SEAT BELT STILL DONT WORK I WORK AN HOUR AWAY FROM HOME AND SCARED TO GET IN CAR. 2014 FORD FUSION.
2014 FORD FUSION. ONE OWNER. 96,000 MILES. WHILE STATIONARY VEHICLE JERKS HARD WHEN SHIFTING FROM ONE GEAR TO ANOTHER. TAKEN TO A FORD DEALERSHIP WHO ADVISED THAT THE RADIATOR NEEDS REPLACING. VEHICLE HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED AT FORD DEALERSHIPS.
CAR STALS WITHOUT WARNING HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN HEAVY TRAFFIC.CAR DEALER SAID THEY COULD FIND NO PROBLEM.BUT STILL STAYS OUT.WHILE DRIVING CAR ON HIGHWAY JUST STOPPED NO POWER AT ALL.NEXT TO TIMES WAITING TO TURNINGS TRAFFIC.
VEHICLE'S ENGINE MISFIRES AND STALLS AT LOW SPEEDS AFTER COLD START TRIGGERING ONBOARD DIAGNOSTIC CODE. FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED INSPECTED (4/23/2019) BUT DID NOT FIND CAUSE OF MISFIRES AND STALLS. I REPLACED THE OEM LOW PRESSURE FUEL SENSOR (11/8/2019) AS SUGGESTED BY OTHERS EXPERIENCING SIMILAR ISSUES FOR LIKE MODEL VEHICLES. THE ENGINE HAS CONTINUED TO MISFIRE AND STALL AFTER REPLACING LOW PRESSURE FUEL SENSOR. DURING A RECENT INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE BY A LOCAL SERVICE CENTER (3/17/2021), THE TECHNICIAN NOTED THAT THE ENGINE COOLANT WAS ABNORMALLY LOW. THE ENGINE MISFIRES AND LOW COOLANT SUGGEST A POSSIBLE COOLANT INTRUSION INTO ENGINE CYLINDERS. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED WITH OTHER LIKE MODEL FORD VEHICLES WITH ECOBOOST ENGINES (SEE TSB 20-2100). IN MY OPINION, THERE IS SUBSTANTIAL RISK OF INJURY TO OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE AS THE MISFIRES AND STALLS ARE MORE LIKELY WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD AND THE DRIVER IS ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STATIONARY POSITION. E.G. TURNING ONTO A BUSY STREET AND MERGING WITH TRAFFIC. FORD SHOULD REPLACE HEAD GASKET FOR AFFECTED VEHICLES AND SMALL BLOCK FOR CUSTOMERS WHO EXPERIENCE COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE.
CAR HAS A DOOR LATCH RECALL AS WELL
DASH LIGHT ON ' CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM LIGHT ALWAYS ON, OCCASIONALLY GOES OUT WHEN STARTED, REPLACED ALTERNATOR WHICH WAS TESTED AT 14.3 CHARGING CAPACITY, CHANGED BATTERY, CHECKED SOLENOID- LIGHT REMAINS LIT. IF LEFT PARKED FOR MORE THAN THREE TO FIVE DAYS BATTERY DRAINS AND MUST BE CHARGED TO START CAR. ISSUE STARTED WHEN CAR WAS 2YEARS OLD 2016 - TO DATE. I HAVE PURCHASED 4 REPLACEMENT BATTERIES DUE TO CONTINUOUS BATTERY DRAIN CAUSING BATTERY FAILURE AROUND SIX MONTHS OF NEW BATTERY PURCHASES. NO SOLUTION TO DATE-
OUR POWER STEERING NO LONGER WORKS A MESSAGE ON THE DASH SAYS POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED. CONSUMER REPORTS SAYS THERE IS A RECALL FOR FORD FUSIONS THE SAME YEAR UNDER RECALL NUMBER 19S26. MY CAR IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL HOWEVER IT IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE THIS ISSUE IS TAKING PLACE IN COLD-WEATHER STATES DUE TO CORROSION VIA SALT WE LIVE IN NH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V632000 (STEERING) HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT'S FATHER STARTED THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, THE STEERING WHEEL CEASED AND THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND REMAINED AT THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND WOULD NOT BE REPAIRED FREE OF CHARGE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.

LOST MY POWER STEERING, WHILE I WAS PARKED AT MCDONALDS, HILL ASSIST LIGHT AND ADVANCE TRAC LIGHTS ARE ON. I CAN NOT DRIVE IT WITH NO POWER STEERING.THE CAR WAS IN PART, WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE, BOTH LIGHTS CAME ON AND NO POWER STEERING PUT IT BACK IN PART, TURN THE ENGINE OFF, I TRIED THID THREE OR FOUR TIMES, FINALLY I HAD POWER STEERING AGIAN, DROVE 16 MILES TO HOME AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. SO DOWN IT JUST SITS THERE, I'M NOT GOING TO DRIVE IT AGAIN UNTIL IT;S FIXED. I CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX IT IF IT'S GOING TO COST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL, TOO MANY PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME THING GO WRONG.
I WAS MERGING INTO THE LEFT LANE TO TAKE A 30FT ROUNDABOUT AT 20-25 MPH AND MID CIRCLE THE CARS POWER STEERING CUT OFF, PULLING CAR TO THE OUTSIDE MEDIAN. WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON, LOSS OF TRACTION CONTROLS AND SOMETHING TO DO WITH HILL PARKING.
WHILE DRIVING OR STATIONARY, THE VEHICLE'S TRUNK LID OPENS ON ITS OWN. DRIVING CONDITIONS, SPEED, ETC. DO NOT SEEM TO PERTAIN TO THE ISSUE.
MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INDICATOR CAME UP WITH NO WARNING AND WOULDN'T SHUT OFF. THE CAR WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION WITHOUT THIS BEING ADDRESSED. THE DEALER IS TELLING ME THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG ON PASSENGER SIDE FOR $1900. I WAS NOT INVOLVED IN A CRASH, THE LIGHT JUST CAME ON AND WOULDN'T GO OFF.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD-ON COLLISION AND SUFFERED NUMEROUS INJURIES BECAUSE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. (I WAS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT). I JUST RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD FOR DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS.
THE POWER WINDOWS ALL QUIT WORKING AT THE SAME TIME. AFTER A FEW WEEKS THE PASSENGER FRONT WINDOW STARTED WORKING. I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR A RECALL, AT THAT TIME I ASKED THEM TO CHECK THE WINDOWS AS WELL AS THE LOCKS. THE ONLY WAY TO LOCK THE CAR WAS THE KEY FOB. NO CODES CAME UP WHEN PUT ON DIALYSIS. THE WINDOWS ALL WORKED AFTER THEY CHECKED, THEY SUGGESTED REPLACING THE MASTERWINDOW SWITCH. I DECLINED SINCE THE WINDOWS WORKED. SHORTLY AFTER MY CONTROL PANEL QUIT WORKING I CANNOT GET ANY HEAT OR AIR. THIS WIL PERIODICALLY WORK FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN QUIT. RECENTLY THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL COME ON, TIRE PRESSURES ARE PERFECT, AFTER TURNING OFF THE CAR THE LIGHT GOES AWAY. EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE TIRE LIGHT HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE PARKED. TIRE PRESSURE HAS ONLY HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING. ALSO WHEN THE CONSOLE QUIT WORKING THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE DOES NOT SHOW ON THE DASH.
MY TRANSMISSION IS MESS UP IS THERE A RECALL ON 2014 FORD FUSION BLACK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER SHIFTING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO MOVE BACKWARDS. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THOROUGHBRED FORD OF PLATTE CITY, INC. (1901 PRAIRIE VIEW RD, PLATTE CITY, MO 64079, (816) 858-3777) BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V471000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 156,328.
ON FEBRUARY 19, 2021. AFTER BACKING MY 2014 FORD FUSION INTO A PARKING SPACE. I WENT TO SHIFT IT INTO PARK. THE LEVER SHIFTED ALL THE WAY FORWARD AS IF IT WERE IN PARK. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND BECAUSE THE CAR WAS ON A SLIGHT INCLINE IT BEGAN TO ROLL. I HIT THE BRAKE AND LOOKED TO SEE IF I WAS INDEED IN PARK. THE SHIFTER WAS ALL THE WAY FORWARD BUT THE DISPLAY SHOWED AS IF THE CAR WAS IN REVERSE. I TRIED TO START THE CAR. IT WOULD NOT START. I COULD NOT MOVE THE SHIFTER OUT OF PARK. I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO REMOVE THE CAR FROM PARK. I COULD NOT. AFTER CHECKING YOUTUBE TO SEE IF ANYONE ELSE HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS I CHECKED ON CURRENT RECALLS. THERE IS A CURRENT RECALL ON ALIKE VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM I AM HAVING. HTTPS://WWW.CARS.COM/RESEARCH/FORD-FUSION-2014/RECALLS/. RECALL NUMBER 18V471000 COMPONENT POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:LEVER AND LINKAGE:FLOOR SHIFT FORD MOTOR COMPANY (FORD) IS RECALLING CERTAIN 2013-2016 FORD FUSION VEHICLES, EQUIPPED WITH SIX-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. THE BUSHING THAT ATTACHES THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE TO THE TRANSMISSION MAY DEGRADE OVER TIME AND CAUSE THE BUSHING TO DETACH FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THE CONDITION COULD ALLOW THE DRIVER TO MOVE THE SHIFT LEVER TO PARK AND REMOVE THE IGNITION KEY, WHILE THE TRANSMISSION MAY NOT BE IN PARK. I CONTACTED THE LOCAL FORD DEALER AND FORD.COM AND THEY TOLD ME, THEY WOULD ONLY FIX THE ISSUES IF I PAID THEM BECAUSE MY FUSION WAS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST.
UNDER MODERATE BRAKING, BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR - RED BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND I HAD LITTLE TO NO BRAKING. VEHICLE WAS ON 25MPH NEIGHBORHOOD STREET - HAD TO BRAKE SUDDENLY FOR A DOG. WAS ONLY 1/4 MILE FROM HOME AND WAS ABLE TO GET INTO GARAGE. FOUND A PUDDLE OF BRAKE FLUID FROM LEFT FRONT. REMOVED WHEEL AND FOUND LEFT FRONT BRAKE LINE RUPTURED NEAR FITTING CRIMP OPPOSITE END FROM CALIPER..
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45-50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE MECHANIC THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED FORD DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO ROY O'BRIEN FORD (22201 E 9 MILE RD, ST CLAIR SHORES, MI 48080) WHERE THE FAILURE WAS DIAGNOSED AS A COOLANT INTRUSION WHERE THE COOLANT LEAKED INTO THE ENGINE AND DAMAGED THE CHARGE AIR COOLER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.

MY POWER ASSIST MOTOR BOLTS BROKE WHEN DOING A 3 POINT TURN CAUSING THE CAR LOOSE ITS POWER STEERING. RESEARCHED FORD RECALLS FOR 2013-2015 FUSIONS AND FOUND THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE. RECALL 15S14 WHICH STATES THE CORROSION PROBLEM. MY CAR IS REGISTERED IN CT AND SHOULD BE INCLUDED BUT FORD SAY IT DOES NOT APPLY TO MY VIN. THE MECHANICS AT FORD AGREE THAT THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BUT THEY ARE UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING WITHOUT FORDS PERMISSION. THE COST IS $2700. I AM LOOKING TO GET THIS COVERED UNDER THE RECALL BUT I AM STUCK. I HOPE SOMEONE WILL CONTACT ME.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
