My truck completely shut down while leaving the shop and I was only going about 6-10mph. The dash alert stated "fuel accessory" or something in orange, sorry, I panicked a little:) I took it to Bradley Ford the next day and they couldn't fix it as they didn't know the issue. This happened a second time, but didn't shut off completely, it just felt like I was running out gas (full tank). I do live in Lake Havasu City, Az and it's hot here so I don't let my truck go below 1/2 tank hoping this will help avoid a major accident. Thank you! The DRL has gone out on one of my headlights. The other has started to flicker. This is uncovered by their extended warranty and over $1600 per side to replace. It is becoming common to see many 2021-2023 with LED reflector headlamps with burned out DRL. It is an unserviceable part as well. Only can replace the entire assembly but no warranty will cover it as lighting is exempt as standard wear items.
Very premature headlight failure that ford refuses to acknowledge or repair under warranty. One headlight is more than $1200. Major safety concern.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vertical daytime running lights on the driver’s and passenger’s side failed to operate as needed. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the headlight module needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was informed that the repair would be an out-of-pocket expense to replace the headlight module because the failure was not covered under recall or warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 49,000.
Getting multiple messages like service advancetrac, pre collision assistance not available, and steering assist fault. Vehicle makes noice randomly when turning but not every time
Mostly when pulling out of parking lot but entering traffic at slow speeds complete loss of power for 4 to 5 seconds or longer.
On Sunday, [XXX], I was driving on a state highway in my 21 Ford F150 FX4 with my family. 67mph, 73 degrees sunny outside. The front portion of my moonroof/sunroof exploded, shooting glass shards internally all over my truck/passengers and externally into the bed of my truck, and into the boat I was towing. Multiple people had glass shards embedded in their skin. There were no other vehicles nearby, and there was no prior damage to the sunroof/moonroof of the vehicle. The truck gave no warning or signs of malfunction prior to the event. The sunroof was closed, and all windows in the vehicle were closed. On Monday morning ([XXX]), I took my truck to the local Ford service center, and they inspected it, shocked at the results. They filed a claim that Ford denied because the windows are not covered by my extended warranty. They wanted to charge me $ 4,000 for the repair/replacement of the glass and track. I have been on the phone with Ford Protection and Ford Customer Service (Aug 6th, 2025), trying to get something resolved, and Ford continues to deny responsibility. While driving (on the highway or in town) get and error message "Intelligent Cruse Control Speed Sign Recognition Not Available" This results in the cruse control not adjusting for change in speed. We had our truck in SEVERAL times when under warranty for repair because the truck back axle was jumping and jerking at low speeds (30-40). of course our luck, they can't find anything wrong. then it goes out of warranty and the back right axle goes out and it is undriveable. We repair it at an expense of 1400.00 in 2024 and now the other back axle went out and it cost 1200.00. Talking with other Ford owners and mechanics, this is a known issue and Ford isn't doing anything about it. Is there any help we can get in matter, Ford says there isn't.

About 1 hour into a commute, I attempted to connect to a call while using the Car Play function of the SYNC system. Upon connection, the speakers blasted as loud as they could possibly go, a terrible pulsing static sounds that scared me and the passenger and almost caused us to have an accident. The volume knob was indicating 0 and would not move and I could not lower the volume of the terrible sound. I pulled over and tried to restart the car a few times, but the sound would not stop until I left the car off for about 10 minutes. I've not connected my phone via Bluetooth or Car Play since for fear that the sound may return when I am not expecting it, startle me and cause an accident. Though I am not certain of the cause. After about 10 minutes of the sound, I also noticed that the speakers were getting hot and I could smell the electronics or wiring overheating. I have a video of the sound but the dealer could not replicate it.
I own a 2021 Ford F-150 [Lariat PowerBoost] affected by recall 23S65 (rear axle bolt). The bolts have severed. Ford has advised that my truck is unsafe to drive until repaired. When I brought the vehicle in, I was told parts were available. I drove the car home and later discovered from paperwork that the repair was not completed only the parts had been ordered. I was told not to take the Truck on my upcoming vacation pulling my camper. I opened a case with Ford Customer Care and was originally told parts would arrive before my scheduled use, but now I am told they will not be available for weeks. This creates a serious safety and hardship issue. My family is scheduled to leave for a trip this Thursday that requires this vehicle to transport my family and tow our camper. Ford has not provided a rental or loaner vehicle capable of replacing my truck, despite advising it is unsafe to drive. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate Ford’s failure to provide a timely remedy or interim solution for a safety-critical recall that removes my vehicle from safe use.

When driving across railroad tracks, or at lower speeds primarily when turning sharp or into parking spaces, a power steering assist fault light flashes and steering becomes difficult unless truck is moving. The only remedy that I know is to put the truck in park, turn off, and restart. This corrects the issue until the criteria mentioned above is met and then it happens again, and again...... The vehicle has been taken to a repair shop where they recommended a new rack and pinion. They mentioned this is a very common issue with ford vehicles. This vehicle has 34k miles and has been well maintained. I'm very disappointed that it consistently has this issue and worry about the loss of steering at a higher rate of speed.

AC quits working while on the road. Air does not come out of the vents no matter how high the fan setting is. Complaint Regarding Wiper Motor Recall – 2021 Ford F-150 VIN [XXX] I am filing this complaint regarding a serious safety issue with my 2021 Ford F-150 (VIN [XXX] ). The wipers sometimes stop mid-sweep or malfunction during operation, creating a major hazard during rain and poor visibility. This appears to be related to Ford Recall 22S12, which addresses defective wiper motors on this vehicle model. I contacted a local Ford dealership and asked if this recall had been completed. They could not confirm it. Instead, they told me that the problem might have been caused by an oil change shop replacing the wiper blades — and that I would be responsible for paying $200 for an inspection and up to $400 for repairs, even though the issue appears to be recall-related. Replacing wiper blades is routine maintenance and should not affect the motor’s function. I can find no technical data or public documentation that supports the dealership’s claim that improper blade installation causes a wiper motor to fail or stop mid-cycle. This sounds like an excuse to avoid honoring the recall. I am unsure whether the recall was ever completed on my truck. If it wasn’t, it needs to be done now. If it was, and the motor is still failing, that indicates a faulty or incomplete recall repair. Either way, Ford should not charge me for diagnosing or fixing a known recall-related defect. I am requesting: •Written confirmation of whether Recall 22S12 was completed •Immediate inspection and proper repair if t

If the driver or front passenger exit the front doors using the mechanical inside release handles, the doors may remain locked when they are closed. This may result in an unexpected lock-out condition for the driver and front passenger without the ability to immediately re-enter the vehicle.

Drove it out to CA from Texas. Purchased for Planet Ford who told me the truck was k to drive and no axel problem. Drove it out to CA from Texas when we moved in late April - after that went to Santa Barbara and dashboard controls went dead. Speedometer and may other controls stopped working. Truck felt sluggish. Took it into Tuttle Click Ford Lincoln in Irvine and they said they real axel was about to fall off and took the truck away. They've had it for a month and said they may have it for another 2-4 week or longer.

The passenger side daytime running light vertical led strip in the passenger side headlight assembly has quit working as of 7/11/2025. I noticed that there seemed to be a reduction in the lighting on the passenger side of my vehicle that night. When I checked my vehicle lighting, I noticed that the above mentioned part of the headlight assembly was not working. This seems to be an integral part of the headlight assembly and I cannot find any replaceable bulb or lighting strip. After searching online, this seems to be a common problem with this series of trucks. The only remedy seems to be replacement of the entire headlight assembly vs. simply replacing a bulb or led strip.

I was turning left from a side street onto a divided highway and stopped in the middle to wait for an opening in traffic. When one came I hit the gas and nothing happened. Pressed it again, to the floor and nothing happened. I then put the truck into reverse to back out of the way of traffic because the truck rolled forward a bit when I attempted to accelerate. I then waited for a very large opening and attempted to accelerate again. Pushed the pedal and again nothing. I then pressed it to the floor and held it there. The truck very slowly began to accelerate and then after about 20 seconds accelerated like normal. The truck seemed normal the rest of the way home.
When I drive at highway speeds and going to slow down this transmission will sometimes shift very hard on down shift from 9th to 8th gear and it jolts the truck. Also sometimes when I am in town going from 4th to 5th gear it is delayed in 4th making the RPM go high then shifting hard into 5th. Getting out of 1st going into 2nd is sometimes clunky and sometimes it is not. All these issues are intermittent. I got this truck a few weeks ago. 35,500 miles on it. Got it because I needed something reliable for family needs and work. Im not rich either so of course I had to finance it 72 months. I feel like I bought myself a big headache and I drive this thing around like I am walking on egg shells and I feel like I ended up with something not reliable because of this 10R80 transmission. I baby it the best I can. I wont take it to the dealership because I know they wont do anything. Thank you for all that you guys do.
When starting the vehicle a message displayed stating "Power Steering Fault Service Required". I was able to shut off the vehicle and restart with no issue. Currently, restarting the vehicle no longer has any affect and the power steering is out completely. An appointment has been scheduled with Ford in two weeks. Unfortunately, this is my only means of transportation. I was at work when the power steering went out completely and had to drive home. On my drive home, the traction control tripped jerking the wheel and it felt like the whole vehicle jumped.
The dash pad in front of steering wheel is coming apart and peeling back. It appears to a defect in installation, material use or wasn't glued down properly
Rear view camera and the 360 camera does not work at all on my 2021 Ford F-150 It says return to dealership for repair
A few months ago, my 2021 F150 started sending me repeating dashboard messages that there's a front camera fault and service is requested followed up with a message about how the pre-collision assist is not available. It's bad enough that this is a problem on a late model vehicle, but my real gripe is that the message repeats over and over non-stop, with a repeating chime to go along with it. It is a terrible distraction for a feature that I've never needed in a vehicle. I asked the Ford dealership about this issue, they said that it would be several thousand dollars to replace and calibrate. So now I'm stuck with a truck that chimes and flashes messages, over and over, every time I drive it. I can provide video evidence of the issue.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, while depressing the brake pedal and attempting to make a right turn, the power train or 4WD warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the CDF cylinder had failed, and the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified on the failure and transferred the contact to NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 107,000.
My complaint is in regards to my truck not being repaired in a timely manner. My truck is over 4 years old and I still don’t have recall 23V896 completed. I called my dealer on June 10 to as per the recall letter to confirm they had the parts in stock. They said they were. I made an appointment for June 18 to get the recall completed. The service advisor then told me they had to send photos of my door sticker to Ford so they could order the parts that they told me 9 days prior that they had. They said it would take a couple of days. Here we are 20 more days later and no parts to perform the recall. This is totally Rediculous and unacceptable. My truck is into its 5th year. Does the NHTSA not have authority to enforce these recalls? I also got a letter about my rear camera freezing (25V315). It says there is no fix available, unbelievable!
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? -The electrical system malfunctioned causing a complete system failure and shutdown of the vehicle. The vehicle came to a sudden stop in an intersection and could not be moved. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? -The vehicle instantly died going through an intersection causing the steering column to lock up, the parking brake to engage and transmission to remain in drive while the vehicle was stopped without any power. This was a sudden and abrupt stop where all control over the vehicle was lost, and I came to an immediate stop in the middle of an intersection. The vehicle would not restart. I could not disengage the parking brake to move the vehicle out of the intersection due to the complete loss of power. The transmission would not shift into Neutral due to the complete loss of power. The hazard lights would not turn on due to the complete loss of power. If this happened on the interstate, I would have very likely been in a serious life threatening /taking accident. This is as big of a near miss that I can think of, and only because it happened on a neighborhood street when no other vehicles were approaching from in front or behind. This is a major safety issue. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? -The vehicle is currently at the dealer for a diagnostic review. Has the vehicle or component been inspecte

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
