The engine system in the 2021 Ford F-150 is malfunctioning due to excessive oil consumption, in the 5.0L Coyote V8 engine. This is leading to no oil registering on the dipstick; the vehicle and its engine remain available for inspection upon request as they are in the owner's possession and have not been disassembled or repaired. This issue puts the safety of the driver, passengers, and other road users at risk by increasing the chances of engine seizure, overheating, or sudden power loss during operation, which could result in loss of vehicle control, especially at high speeds or while towing, potentially causing accidents, breakdowns in traffic, reduced braking efficiency, or even fires from overheated components, though no such incidents have occurred yet. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by technicians at Ford Spitzer in Hartville and Valvoline in North Canton, OH, who documented the oil consumption during service visits, consistent with Ford's diagnostic procedures. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership, which is in communication with Ford corporate for further guidance on warranty repairs, but no inspections by police, insurance representatives, or other third parties have been reported. The main symptom observed is the consistent lack of oil on the dipstick, technicians documenting the engine is as low as 2-3 quarts, indicative of rapid consumption. No warning lamps or dashboard messages have appeared yet, but they could activate if oil levels b

Rear glass window completely shattered for no apparent reason while sitting in parking lot parking car. recent snow and outdoor temps about 26 degrees. had driven the car a quarter mile with rear defroster on.
-The hub bolt in the rear axle broke. Truck had to be towed to dealership. Problem was confirmed by dealership. There was no warning lamp and only found out due to flat tire. -In 12/2022, power train failure left vehicle "dead" in the middle of the highway with family of four stranded 400 miles away from home.
The passenger side day time running light is dimmed drastically and almost not visible anymore on the upright section. After doing research , this seems to be a very common issue and not a cheap repair. Some states day time running lights are mandatory to work to pass inspection. Ford has not acknowledged this issue and/or making profit from changing out the whole headlight assembly to fix. It seems like it is a bad design or low quality product for a supposed safety issue.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V315000 (Back Over Prevention). The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds and while in reverse(R), the infotainment screen froze and went black. The vehicle was taken to a dealer in October 2025, where it was diagnosed and determined that a software update was needed for the infotainment system, but the manufacturer had not yet provided a software update. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
I am reporting a serious safety issue with my 2021 Ford F-150. This truck has already been subject to multiple recalls, yet the problems have continued. On several occasions while driving, the truck has suddenly shut off without warning, causing a complete loss of power while the vehicle is in motion. This has happened while my family and I were in the vehicle and has nearly resulted in a serious crash. Losing power in traffic without warning creates an extremely dangerous situation and has put my family’s lives at risk. A vehicle shutting off while being driven is a major safety hazard. Despite multiple visits for service and ongoing recall issues, the problem has not been resolved, and the truck continues to fail in a way that could easily lead to a catastrophic accident.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V455000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). Upon starting the vehicle, it started and stopped. After waiting for approximately 20 minutes, the vehicle worked as designed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the battery needed to be replaced. The battery was replaced, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with a faulty fuel pump control module, fuel pump assembly, and Auto START/STOP eliminator module that needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was contacted; however, no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.
Daytime running light just went out one side.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V455000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer and the manufacturer were contacted, and confirmed that the recall remedy was still under engineering review. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure.
There is no fix or remedy available for this recalled fuel problem. The recall and fuel pump replacement isn't available and is taking too long. There is hesitation due to this issue.
1. Electrical System Failure: While traveling on highway, alternator failed suddenly within 2 minutes of “service soon” and “check electrical system” warnings. Caused complete loss of motive power, electronic parking brake locked up while driving, loss of power steering, all gauges failed, transmission shifted into park while in motion. Battery was damaged (“fried”). Engine continued running for several minutes after stop without ability to shut off ignition. Incident documented by Ohio State Highway Patrol. 2. Seat Belt Issue: Driver-side seat belt interlock sticks in unlocked position, creating risk of failure to lock during a crash. 3. Electronic Parking Brake: Intermittently engages while vehicle is moving downhill to a stop (mostly at or below 5 mph). Parking brake light flashes three times then turns solid while in motion. Ford TSB indicates vehicle not eligible for related recall. 4. Infotainment System: Intermittently freezes, requiring forced reboot. Preceded by audio glitches, laggy dash computerized systems. 5. Transmission: Severe clunk and physical jolt when decelerating from ~30 mph to 8 mph. Also occurs during acceleration, particularly upshifts from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th gears, more pronounced when turning. 6. 4WD System: Intermittently fails to disengage from 4WD HI to 2WD HI. “Failure to shift” message appears several minutes after command to return to 2WD HI. 7. Front Differential/Axle: Previously, faulty front differential housing fractured due to syst

My 2021 Ford F-150 Lariat has a door latch defect that occurs in freezing or near-freezing temperatures. The failure occurs without warning in cold conditions, causing the door latch to freeze and not fully engage. When this happens, the door is able to freely swing open while the vehicle is in motion and also freely open when the vehicle is parked. This creates a serious safety hazard, including the risk of occupant ejection and loss of vehicle control. The vehicle has no aftermarket modifications and is maintained per manufacturer recommendations. The issue is temperature-dependent and has occurred on multiple occasions. Ford has issued recalls for similar door latch freezing defects on multiple other Ford vehicles and model years. Despite this, my vehicle has not been included, even though it exhibits the same failure mode. This defect presents a significant safety risk and should be investigated for potential recall inclusion.
Giving an error of reverse assist and not available when starting truck and when placing truck in reverse. Have look up to seen if included in the recall that was issued 6 days ago. Have called dealership to confirm that not part of recall. The message just showed up last night. This truck should be included in the recall
I had my 2021 F-150 into the local ford dealership not even a year ago due to a shifting issue. I was on the interstate and passing a car in the passing lane on the interstate and my truck shifted so hard I thought I lost something and then kinds lost power for a minute. The dealership ran a test on it, and it failed. It was some type of valve that was bad I guess ford and GM are having the issue. Now I am starting to have the same issue on now it is down around 4th to 3rd or 3rd to 2nd gear, but when it shifts once in a while it is a very hard shift and it scares the hell out of you. Now once in a while when I go to shift from drive to park or drive to reverse the shifter will not move. Like I said I am getting ready to get ahold of the dealership again and get it in to be looked at I am just waiting for winter to be over.
My son is a mechanic and realized there was an issue. He found this issue: The engine loss compression on number four-cylinder severe power loss inspected; found damage to top of number four piston, most likely due to valve failure. He took to Ford dealership in Tuscaloosa, AL. They agreed with the assessment. Ford Motor Co.would not repair, stating this issue was not caused by recall.
The transmission shifts hard when downshifting from 10th gear on the highway. There is a loud audible clunk that you can also physically feel. Also when shifting around 3rd gear during city driving there is the same problem. Both of these could lead to loss of traction/vehicle control.
My vehicle loses power when turning into traffic, when stopping and taking off. There have been SEVERAL close calls when pulling into traffic as my vehicle will stall out and won't accelerate causing traffic to have to swerve to miss hitting me. I am going to end up getting hit one of these days. Also, it is very dangerous on snow and ice. When trying to accelerate, it cuts out losing power. Keeping my foot on the accelerator, it will eventually get power amd take off unexpectedly and fast. This causes a hazardous issue as well. I have tried to get Ford to buy back the truck or trade for a different one but they refuse to do anything. This is my only transportation and I have to drive it. I am going to end up seriously injured or dying if my truck stalls out in traffic. I can't travel with my grandson because I would be risking his safety. Please make Ford Company replace or buy back my truck and full loan pay off.
Two things, the dash stopped displaying speed. As I was driving the dash glitched out and the digital speed would not display. It started only showing the top half of how fast I was going. Then it completely went out. Second, the radio also glitches. Won't let me change station or sources. I usually have to turn the truck off for 10 to 15 minutes, then it starts fixing the issues. This has been an ongoing problem. And no recalls for this issue have been placed
My truck has harsh shifting when I accelerate and when I slow down. It skips out of gear into neutral and then goes back into gear. I believe the problem is that my system isn’t communicating with the transmission correctly. There weren’t any warning messages before or after this problem started. I did some research, and my model and year of my truck do have a problem like this no dealership or service center has not inspected this problem
10 Speed transmission jumps at highway speeds, clunks when stopping, and slips when cold. I've had it to the dealer and they replaced the torque converter, and I've had it back several more times. The garage refuses to allow another appointment since Ford engineers say the slipping and jumping is within specs and since no lights or warnings are noted I just have to live with it. The mechanics can feel it but are helpless to do anything about it. Ford refuses to fix it and it is a well-known problem.
Excessive oil consumption. Consumes more than 1 quart of oil every 5k miles
Here is what happened on Feb 21st 2026 at about 8:00 AM MST. We were driving east in the mountains on I-70 in Colorado approaching the Eisenhower tunnel. The truck had been parked in a heated garage overnight. There had been some snow the night before which had been melted by sand and salt, so the road was wet and messy. The vehicles ahead and around my truck were kicking up a mist of water and sand and dirt. My windshield quickly became covered and obstructed. I attempted to apply some windshield washer fluid, but nothing came out. To make matters worse, the wipers automatically turned on turning the speckled dirt and sand to be smeared across the windshield making it almost impossible to see. The smear was too dry that any further wiper action did nothing to clear the windshield. This happened while entering the tunnel. In the dark or the tunnel I could barely see the road – only by ducking way low and peeking through a small portion of the windshield below the wiper smear. There is no place to pull over inside the tunnel. As we exited the tunnel, we were facing the east sun which lit up the smear and made the windshield completely obscured - even my last tiny piece. We were still at 50 MPH with surrounding traffic. My only option was to ease right and hope the emergency lane was clear. I had to hang my head out the side window to determine how far to ease right. It was a miracle we were able to pull off and not hit any other vehicles and come to a stop (I was completely bl

My truck has had both rear axle bolts broken since October of 2025. This is part of the recall 23S65/23V896 for the max tow axles. My dealer ordered parts in October, yet they're still supposidly on national backorder from Ford. New vehicles are coming off the assembly line with these axles every day, and I can find several OEM parts websites online selling the fixed axles, yet Ford continues to tell me that I need to wait longer. This is a safety issue since both of my rear axle bolts are broken, so if the axle were to slip out of the splines I could lose all power.

I've been having issues with the vehicle having a lag when accelerating. Upon leaving Arizona and traveling to Oklahoma I proceeded to pass a vehicle and upon accelerating there was a delay causing a near collision 3 different times. I've contacted the dealership and Ford Corporation and they just keep pushing the issue off. 7 months and still no remedy for the fuel pump issue that they have a recall for. Their solution is for me to pay for parts and labor to have a new fuel pump installed which will not fix the problem because it will be the same style of pump that the recall is on and they want me to pay for it.

Vehicle: 2021 Ford F-150 (VIN: [XXX] ). The vehicle has been undrivable due to since Aug 4, 2025 and is currently at a Ford dealer in Amarillo, TX. Ford/dealer state it is undrivable due to a recall condition and that parts are not available / no ETA for remedy. Component: rear axle nuts and axle shafts, axle shafts are stripped, may cause rollaway or power loss while driving ,according to Ford. The vehicle has been inspected by Ford at Tri-State Ford in Amarillo, TX where the vehicle has been held since August 4th, 2025. Ford says the axles are under the recall, the recall claims parts are available, but the Amarillo Ford (Tri-State Ford) has NOT fixed the vehicle and states they have no idea when they will get the parts. Ford also sent a message several months ago saying they have no ideal when the parts will be available. Request: NHTSA review the recall remedy delay leaving vehicles undriveable for extended periods. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The vehicle is experiencing a chronic, documented loss of engine coolant with no external leaks identified, accompanied by a persistent odor of burning coolant. Despite nine months of notification and two separate Ford authorized dealerships attempting repairs, the defect remains unresolved. To date, dealerships have performed only 'surface-level' pressure and dye tests. They have refused to perform thorough diagnostics despite the clear evidence of consumption. This creates a severe safety hazard: coolant loss on this engine platform is a known precursor to sudden engine stall and potential engine fire. By failing to identify the internal leak path, Ford is requiring me to operate a vehicle with an unpredictable mechanical deficit. The absence of a Warning Lamp (CEL) does not mitigate the risk; it confirms a mechanical failure that the current onboard diagnostics are failing to capture before a catastrophic event occurs.
Led Daytime running lights burnout. No repair by ford without replacing whole housing. No covered under warranty.
My 2021 Ford F-150 has been inoperable for over three months due to a safety recall involving the rear axle hub. The dealer and manufacturer have been unable to remedy the recall within a reasonable time due to parts unavailability, and no repair timeline has been provided. I requested a loaner vehicle from the dealer and was told there were six to seven customers ahead of me. The dealer reported to Ford corporate that I declined a loaner vehicle, which is not accurate. No loaner was made available to me, and I was forced to obtain alternate transportation through my employer. The dealer initially required payment to inspect my vehicle for the recall and held the truck for approximately one week before stating the issue was not recall related. When I asked how this determination was made, I was told additional payment was required to disassemble the rear hub for further inspection. After escalating the issue and expressing concern about the handling of the recall diagnosis, the dealership director contacted me and later confirmed that the issue was, in fact, related to the recall. However, I was told it would take a couple of months to repair due to parts backorder. At this point, my vehicle has been unusable for over three months with no repair timeline, no manufacturer provided loaner or rental vehicle, and no resolution. I am continuing to make payments and maintain insurance on a vehicle I cannot safely operate due to an unresolved safety recall. This appears to be an unr
There is a hard jerk that happens when moving from a dead stop and then it will shift into gear. Its been reproduced by a maintenance shop. They stated it was the transmission. It has not been inspected by a manufacturer. There was no warning lamps which causes a high risk of safety, including a possibility of accident while on the road.
The passenger side daytime running light no longer illuminates or illuminates poorly. During daytime inclement weather, low beams must be manually turned on to ensure there's some form of lighting illuminated during snow, fog, etc. Problem is well known by the dealer and extremely wide spread in the 2021 to 2023 F-150. The component has not been inspected. There is no warning lamp to indicate daytime running light failure.
When the truck is put into reverse especially when cold the transmission does not initially go into gear. When it finally does the vehicle lurches rearward violently and I have to slam on the brakes to not hit anything. The transmission was just "bench" rebuilt under the Ford powertrain warranty supposedly with a CDF drum and valve body replacement along with software updates including adaptive reset and relearn with the appropriate drive cycles however the vehicle still exhibits this condition. I called Ford customer service and filed a complaint with them last month. They told me to bring to another dealer which the vehicle is currently at and has been for a month. They claim that it is normal for this transmission and refuse to fix it. I have video evidence of the truck being put into reverse and the RPM rising before it slams into reverse. I also demonstrated first thing one morning to a technician after a cold soak overnight and he agreed that the vehicle has a delayed engagement in reverse and when it did finally engage it did so violently. The dealer told me to record it and that would be the best evidence and I did along with presenting it to them. After this they changed their mind and said actually a technician has to witness which I also did. Again they said this wasn't good enough. A field engineer supposedly looked at the vehicle and they wont tell me what he said. Very odd. I feel like im getting the run around and have an unsafe vehicle that Ford refuses and it
I'm reporting that my driving/fog lights aren't working and haven't for some time. My truck only has 58,000 miles on it and is only 5 years old, I have been guided to report this issue to the NHTSA. I drive allot in the early morning and am NOT getting the lighting I should, it's agravating that you pay so much for a vehicle and the lights don't work properly. I have read 100's of post/emails and vlogs, there are thousands and thousands of these trucks with that same issue, what can I do to repair or replace these lights? Thank you, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The vehicle reported a charging system failure alert and came to a jerking stop. The battery was completely drained and the alternator had failed at 71,000 miles. The vehicle stopped in the drive lane on a heavily trafficked road. The emergency release lever was found and pulled to allow the truck to pull over.
Right rear axle bolt sheared off. This was first reported to dealer in mid 2025 and recall repair has not yet been completed. This is Ford recall 23S65, NHTSA recall 23V896.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the transmission shifted hard with unintended upshifts. The contact stated that the vehicle was able shift out of a higher gear occasionally upon switching to manual mode. There was no warning light illuminated. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.
Took my 2021 Ford F 150 in for recall 23s65 and oil change and was told vehicle was unsafe to drive and even though parts according to ford where available the dealer said they were on back order with no ETA of when they would be available and they would put me in a rental for the time being. I’ve been told 3 times now by Ford parts are available but yet the dealership keeps saying they’re still on back order.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V896000 (Power Train). The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH, there was an abnormal sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was inspected, and there was oil under the rear passenger’s side of the vehicle in the wheel well. The vehicle was taken to dealer, where it was diagnosed that the rear axle hub bolts were fractured and needed to be replaced. The differential fluid was refilled, but the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
Both Quad LED side strips (vertical daytime running lights) on my 2021 Ford F‑150 have burnt out. The failure occurred gradually, with the left strip failing first around [insert approximate date] and the right strip failing shortly after. These LED strips are a safety feature, and their failure reduces visibility while driving. I have attached a photo of the burnt DRL, a photo of a working DRL for reference, and a screenshot of my Ford Live Chat showing my ticket number and that I am tracking this issue publicly in a Facebook group of other owners experiencing the same failure. This appears to be a recurring defect affecting multiple trucks in the 2021–2023 F‑150 range. I am filing this complaint to document a safety defect that may require investigation.
My 2021 F-150 has burnt-out Quad LED side strips on both headlights. These are daytime running lights, a safety feature. I understand there is no TSB or recall, but many owners have the same issue. I am filing to document a recurring safety defect." Attach a photo of your burnt DRL

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
