The LED daytime running lights in both of my headlights are going out. The vertical portion is out on each the driver's side, and passenger side headlights. This started on the passenger side headlight about 6 months ago and has progressed to both lights. The diminishes the visibility of my vehicle to other vehicles. Puts all at risk. The headlights are still attached to my truck and available for inspection. I have not taken my truck in for inspection as I am beyond the factory warranty. I have conducted research into the problem and learned there are hundreds, if not thousands of owners with the same issue. There were no warnings of the light failure.

XLT model with quad LED headlight. The Daytime Running Lamp failed 3000 miles past factory 36k mile warranty. Very common failure, Ford won’t acknowledge. Safety issue for other drivers in daytime as well as distracting to other drivers looking to see why the lights are not symmetrical. I have polled 14 people randomly and 13-14 said that it would distract them, while others have acknowledged they have seen several others like it. Trying to get a recall on this as the lights are 1200$ to replace each and they fail on both sides. The issue is quality control. I have torn down one light and examined the issue. I can provide evidence to support.

I am writing to bring to your attention a critical safety issue affecting my 2021 Ford F-150, caused by a recent SYNC software update. On or around August 2024, Ford issued a software update that has resulted in significant malfunctions in multiple vehicle systems, including intermittent freezing and non-responsiveness shortly after vehicle startup. These issues persist for several minutes, severely impairing safety features—most notably the federally mandated backup camera that all vehicles sold after 2018 are required to have for driver and pedestrian safety. Following Ford's issuance of a recall number, I scheduled a service appointment with my local dealership and was later informed that Ford's specified service procedures would incur additional charges since my vehicle is now out of warranty. Ford has indicated that rolling back to a previous software version is not an option, as only Ford has access to the software. The company further requires an official diagnostic assessment at an estimated cost of $500 to $1,000 to even consider covering part of the repair costs. This approach is unreasonable, given that the malfunction originates from Ford’s own software update and directly impacts the safe operation of the vehicle. This is especially concerning as it compromises the backup camera and other critical driver-alert systems, which could lead to severe injury or even fatalities if the issue remains unaddressed. This issue is not isolated; a significant number of Ford F-

The Air Dam on my 2021 F-150 failed seemingly while driving down the interstate highway traveling within posted speed limits. While the Air Dam did not completely separate from the vehicle there are many reports of this occurring. These parts are plastic and metallic in nature at highway speeds can easily become projectiles threatening property harm and bodily harm including death. Ford should resolve issues with the Air Dams before someone is killed due to its improper construction and prone to breaking. To complicate matters Ford refuses to fix this part under its Bumper to Bumper warranty.

Ford issued NHTSA recall 22V142 for my 2021 F-150 truck. The windshield wiper motors were known to fail. I was told by the Ford customer service representative on CAS-51684816 that Ford has not replaced this part with a new one, and the faulty motors are still being installed. My wiper motor was "replaced" under warranty on 5/18/2023 with 39,836 miles. The "new" motor then failed on 9/24/2024 at 69,600 miles, so the wiper motor only worked for a little over a year and 30,000 miles. The wiper motor also failed during a thunderstorm, and I had to pull over to the side of the road. My truck was then hailed on later while parked waiting for the storm to pass by. The Ford dealership charged me $382.01 for the "replacement" motor. Either the replacement part was defective, or the part was not replaced at all, and it was just listed on the paperwork.

The component that malfunctioned was the steering wheel when traveling in excess of 50MPH. The steering wheel when turning left of center will catch and not return to center on own without the intervention of the driver. It is available for inspection upon request. If the driver does not intervene this can put other vehicles on the road and occupants of the vehicle malfunctioning at potential risk of a crash or serious injury. The problem has not been able to be reproduced by two dealers. Where the current owner has had the issue occur frequently. The component has not been inspected further past the initial complaint to the dealer to the owners knowledge. There are no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. The issue first appeared in the first few thousand miles of owning the vehicle.

At 30k I noticed the transmission start shifting hard especially when down shifting. I called the dealer and expressed by concerns when doing my normal oil changes. The dealer said it was normal. Now at 42k the truck skips 2nd gear and when shifting between 3rd and 4th it hits hard. Also an independent mechanic shop said the engine is making a weird winding sound. Sounds like the barring in the turbos are going. Again I tell the dealer and they said it's normal for the 3.5 ecoboost to sound like that. Currently it's at the dealer getting the transmission worked on. I know I will be having engine issues, that sound is not normal. I want it on record that it started happening around 30k.

In June of this year while traveling on the highway at speeds between 65-70 mph my drivers side tail light flew out of my vehicle. There was enough force to rip the wiring right out and send the entire light flying which could have caused risk to any vehicle behind me, it also left me to drive without a tail light/blinker which is a safety issue. I did not see, feel, or hear anything, and only noticed it was gone when I arrived home that night. It was replaced through a body shop. In August while driving on the highway again in similar conditions I saw something red in my rear view mirror that seemed to come flying from the bed of my truck. I saw it fly away and bounce down the highway, luckily not hitting a vehicle behind me, but it did create an obstruction in the road. I wasn't sure what it was at first, so I went to pull over, put my right side blinker on, and it flashed quickly indicating my light was out. I immediately knew, because of my previous experience, that the other tail light had flown out of my vehicle. This time the electrical wires were not ripped out, but the screws holding the light in are sheared. I am again left with a vehicle that is unsafe to drive as it is missing a light and a blinker, until the body shop can get the part in and replace it. I have a bumper to bumper Ford warranty and was told by multiple dealers that Ford would not be willing to cover this issue, even though it's the second time this has happened, and the warranty states that lights

What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
