I have had problems with the truck since I purchased it. The first week I had it went a trip with my daughter to Oregon. As we were headed back to Montana my crash assist starting going off and there was no other cars or objects around. I took it to Helena, Ford when I got back. The cameras are constantly going out and the crash assist has been failing. My truck will be back in the shop after it gets out of the shop in missoula, Mt. It will be back at Helena Ford for another camera that has gone out which isn’t allowing me to parallel park and may be affecting the crash assist again. My truck is in the shop constantly for the transmission or cameras. I have been constantly telling them my truck is shifting hard. It’s also been having brake problems which they can’t figure out. The brakes have been making a horrible loud sound. I have had transmission problems since I have purchased this. It has been shifting hard and I’ve taken it in for this again and again. They did something each time to the transmission. They also did a recall fix on it. It still continued to shift hard. All information is at Helena Ford, Helena Mt. I had a tow system installed on my truck to tow behind my motor home. I had the system installed by a Professional at Speciality Iron Works in Great Falls, Mt. I had them hook it up to my motorhome and we went through the whole set up according to Fords manual to put it in tow mode to tow behind the motorhome. It said tow mode enabled. Vehicle was started after sitting for 24 hrs. Turned off the start/stop function and proceeded. Less than a mile into the trip, I attempted a right hand turn. Slowed, made the turn and went to accelerate. The engine stalled. Dash error notice stated "Auto Start/Stop Shift to P, then Restart Engine." Came to a complete stop and restarted. Thankfully, no one was behind me at the time and I wasn't pulling into a stream of traffic. Took to dealer approximately 10 days later. They checked for DTC's. None were found, could not verify customer concern. Service advisor stated he had other complaints of the same malfunction, however no info or TSB's available to fix the problem.

Transmission clunks randomly in various situations that are unpredictable. It will occasionally slam itself into a gear which is obviously creating an unsafe situation, especially when towing. Other times it can't figure out which gear it wants, creating yet more unsafe situations, especially when towing. Fuel mileage is excessive even for a pickup truck. After scanning with BlueDriver, fuel trim numbers are significantly out of range causing excessive fuel consumption and lack of power.

This safety problem has happened twice in the last 3 months without warning. There are no check engine or service lights on of any kind. I was operating my vehicle on paved city roads driving at normal pace for the conditions. First time this incident happened I was driving approximately 25 mph beginning to scrub speed for a stoplight. Without warning the vehicle shutoff and had no power to anything. The warning on the dash said put vehicle in park to restart. I had to park on a 45mph road with traffic and no shoulder to restart my vehicle. After this first incident I took my vehicle to the dealership and they were unable to find anything wrong. The second time this same incident happened was yesterday 5/4/22. I was turning right at approximately 10-12mph and vehicle shutoff without warning. Lost power to all systems. I had to again park the vehicle on a busy road abruptly to restart, only after having to place vehicle in park. Pending visit to dealership on Monday 5/9/22. Ford has also been contacted and incidents documented.

I was driving down the highway when my engine starting shaking so bad I could barely control the steering. I managed to get to the side of the road, and even in park the whole truck was shaking. Had to call a tow truck (cost $100) to take it to nearest Ford dealer. Rodents had chewed through wiring to fuel injectors and knock sensor ($1400). This was the second incident of rodent damage on the wiring of this truck. Mechanic said the soy-based wire coating Ford is using is irresistible to rodents. Insurance company said rodent damage claims on the vehicles using this type of wire coating are 59x higher than on other vehicles. This is a safety concern because of things like happened to me! I could have very possibly wrecked due to this shaking that was so violent. The other event caused my locking system to malfunction. I could have been locked in my vehicle! This is unacceptable. My previous vehicle (Jeep) was parked in the exact same location daily and never had a rodent damage incident. Ford needs to address this!!

This appears to be a possible PCM relay failure or electrical system malfunction . This seems to be a documented issue out there on various websites and forums. I was with my wife and son when the vehicle started running extremely rough and lost nearly all power on a busy roadway. This caused a very dangerous situation for my family in attempting to get the vehicle off the main roadway. Multiple dash lights came on and the system advised of "park brake limited service required", "Hill assist not available" and "drive modes not available". After getting the vehicle off the roadway and parked, the vehicle stalled and would not start or run. I have not taken this to the dealer yet to determine the issue.

4 times this has happened while on the road in traffic: the truck when slowing down around 20mph will shut off and an error message appears on the dash cluster saying "auto startstop shift to p, then restart engine". Went to the local Ford dealer and Service Manager said that 1 quart in 1500 miles is normal. This is over 2 quarts in 2000 miles so they are going to do an Oil Consumption test on the engine. Something really disturbing happened while I was driving my truck on 3/20/21. I was pulling into an intersection and the car shut off. Stepping on the gas did nothing and I could barely turn the wheel. There was a message flashing in my dashboard that I can’t remember because I panicked. I could have been T boned because there was traffic coming from my right and left, my kids could have been in the car with me because it’s the family car. Thank God neither of those happened because it was around 10 am and there wasn’t that much traffic. I ended up putting the car in park, shutting off the car, and restarting it, all as fast as I could. It was obviously pretty terrifying. On 4/25/21, a similar incident happened around 10:30 am. I was sitting at a stop sign and a warning message came onto my dashboard with a battery symbol. I can't remember the exact message, but I had to put the car in park and power off/power on the car again like the last time. Again on 6/23/21, the car shut off again while I was driving, my foot was on the gas. I got an error message and had to put the car in park, shut off, then turn it back on. It was extremely scary this time because my daughter was in the car and this happened right outside the school with children crossing the road. What I’ve realized is that this only started happening when I left the Auto Start/Stop on. I realized that and have been turning it off. I forgot to do it on this trip and that’s when the car shut off. I’ve seen a lot of c

Making this complaint immediately since a quick check shows other owners reporting this event with their vehicles on this official site as well as on many unofficial forums, indicating that this is a common occurrence with the product and not this specific vehicle.
