While driving at posted speeds on open highway and in congested work zones, this F-150 experienced an Electronic Throttle Body failure 5 times between Rochester Hills, MI and Granger, IN on 9/13/2022. It happened again on 9/14/2022 in city two way traffic with no shoulder. In each incident, the vehicle went into limp mode with rough idle and had to be completely stopped, turned off and restarted in high traffic, hazardous stopping locations. This happened once before in the mountains in Utah, in a construction zone back on 5/02/2021. At that time, the check engine light did not stay on and Ford was unable to find a code. It did not happen again until 9/13/2022. These incidents put me and my family in danger with each episode. Ford is fully aware of this issue, has in the past and should notify owners of the potential issue and continue to make repairs available as a recall or extended warranty service issue.

On Sunday, September 4th 2022 around 8:30PM , I was returning from a camping trip with my girlfriend. We were about 20 minutes away from home. We had the bed of the truck packed with our camping materials. Suddenly the low break fluid began to chime and warn us that it's low. I was driving my truck at the time. I was driving on the freeway going I-5 South. I was not aware of my safety being compromised by this warning my truck issued. As i was approaching a vehicle in front of me, i began to make the effort to slow my truck down so i would not get to close to the vehicle in front. As soon as i attempted to slow down, my brakes did not function as they properly should. Because my brakes did not function properly, this caused me to fully engage my breaks by pushing the break in as far as the truck allowed me to. Although i was fully engaging my breaks to reduce my speed, it was not enough to avoid a collision. I then had to engage the emergency breaks to slow down my speed. The break malfunction caused me to panic and fear for our safety. This incident almost caused me to collide & rear end the vehicle that was in front of me. I then decided to continue driving at a speed of 55MPH with my hazard lights to get my girlfriend and i home safely. I have done research on what may be the cause of my break malfunction. I found Ford issued a recall, Number 20S31. Their description of the recall explained exactly what happened to me. I'm unsure why my VIN number does not fall under their

One of the transmission fluid lines that runs from the transmission to the transmission cooler located in the front grill of the vehicle broke completely off and released all of the transmission fluid from the system onto the highway. This resulted in the loss of power and unstable shifting of the transmission. The line breakage was not due to impact or any damage. It broke without warning. There was no indicator light or warning on the dash showing what had happened the vehicle just started shifting erratically and power was lost. The line snapped in a bend where the line changes from steel to rubber and then back to steel. I believe this is due to a poor design that places stress on the connectors that give way over time.

The rear sliding window and it's frame on my 2015 F150 keeps falling out. Ford used sticky tape to hold it in place but the tape does not last very long before it falls out again. The local Ford agency said Ford had no fix except total replacement (at great expense). Seems foolish to replace it if sticky tape is still the Ford "fix." I suspect that the changing temperatures may be part of the problem but the main problem seems to be securing a window frame with nothing more than double-sided sticky tape. This could be a safety hazard to a rear seat passenger or to the driver (or another passing vehicle) if the window frame departs during travel.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, he heard abnormal clunking sounds coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the Integrated Wheel End (IWE) had failed and damaged the wheel hubs, rotors, and brake pads. The vehicle was repaired under an unknown Ford Technical Service Bulletin; however, the failure reoccurred at 51,000 miles. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who provided the same diagnostic information. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they would partially cover the repair as the VIN was not included in a recall and the vehicle was out of warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000. The contact stated that despite multiple replacement, the vehicle still experiences the same issue. The consumer stated the vehicle was taken to the dealer twice and charged both times but was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to Corey Ford and fixed the vehicle at no charge.

Each time I depressed the brake, the pedal went all the way to the floor. Fortunately, I was able to pump the brake enough to stop the vehicle. I proceeded very slowly and was able to drive to the nearest service facility. Upon inspection by Kedron Tire and Automotive (Peachtree City, GA) I was told that the brake hose on the passenger side had ruptured. They said that they had not seen this before in a late model vehicle such as mine. I had them replace both hoses, the one on the passenger and driver side. There were no warning lights or messages.

The steering assist (i.e. power steering) on this vehicle had a "sudden" and "complete" failure as I was making a 90 degree right hand turn. There was no prior warning. The failure caused me to almost drive into the ditch on the side of the road. Fortunately, I was driving slow on a rural road with no other traffic at the time. Had this happened on a heavy traffic road, this failure could have caused a bad accident. This failure is available for inspection. However, I plan to take this vehicle in to an independent service center on Moday, August 15, 2022 for repair. Currently, the steering wheel is "extremely" hard to turn. I now get the following warning messages when I start the vehicle, which started only after the failure occurred - "Steering Assist Fault Service Required."

My Ford dealer replaced the defective throttle body on my 2015 F150 Ford truck. I was charged for the repair and Ford advised me that the extended warranty on this component did not apply to my vehicle. My trucks engine completely shut down while I was driving. I was very luck I was on a back road and was able to coast until it was safe to pull off the road. After restarting my truck, in a few miles, it did the same thing. Again, I was very lucky to still be on a back road and able to coast to a safe spot to pull off the road. I restarted the truck and made it to my Ford dealer a few miles away without further incident. Both times my truck engine quit, there was a warning light on the dash board that lite during the event. I believe it said “maintenance required” but not sure. I was preoccupied looking for a safe place to pull off the road. No warning came before the event. This engine shutdown could have put myself and others in danger had it occurred on the freeway.

While trying to accelerate, my truck repeatedly lost all engine power with multiple alarms lighting up on the console. My only option was to gradually pull to the side of the road, shut off the truck and restart. Problem quickly got worse to the point that I was lucky to go a hundred yards before the problem occurred. Luckily, it was late in the evening without much traffic. I was able to coast down a hill and into the parking lot of a repair shop. This same situation occurred in 2020 and a Ford dealer identified a failed throttle body. Even though this seems to be a common problem, there was no recall or warranty so I had to pay to replace the Throttle Body. I now have to pay for yet another throttle body. I recently discovered this only by pulling the outside door handle when the vehicle was locked, and it opened. I have not had this inspected, though it appears to be a failure of the lock actuator--unrelated to the water-related failures of previous complaints and recalls. This presents a safety risk for any passenger sitting next to that door--especially a child, since the child safety lock mechanism on this door will not function because the door will not lock.

Two weeks ago my 2015 Ford F150 died in a parking lot. I drove it in fine, walked into the store, and when I left the store the truck was dead. Battery was good, alternator was good, but would not start. I had it towed to my local Ford dealer. Three days later they informed me that the starter was bad and it was replaced. Two days later I'm driving at highway speed (approx 70 mph) and the truck violently downshifts from sixth to third gear causing the tires to lock up and the vehicle to skid approx 20 ft in NYC traffic. Luckily there was no one close behind me although there were numerous car horns beeped and swerving traffic as I rapidly decelerated. The truck remained in third gear until I moved into the safety lane and the RPMs (due to slowing) returned to normal. The instrument panel only displayed a message "Contact Dealer". I shut the truck off and the turned it back on with no faults indicated and limped it home. Since then the truck has repeatedly failed to start. It will start fine for a day or two, and then nothing when the key is turned. I had it towed to my local service station where the mechanic informed me that the computer code errors indicated that there were multiple errors with the transmission. The soonest that the Ford dealer can inspect is 35 days from now. I see that earlier model Ford F150's had a factory recall for similar transmission problems. My concern is that due to electrical malfunctions within the transmission control module, Ford F150's may r

2015 Ford F150 - 85,000 miles. While driving at highway speeds vehicle suddenly locked the tires and began to slide out of control. PRNDL display went black and wrench warning light illuminated on dash. Car behind me nearly rear-ended due to rapid deceleration without brake lights. I was able to steer to the shoulder to avoid an accident. After shutting off vehicle and restarting, vehicle acted normally. Wrench indicator remained illuminated. Took vehicle to local ford dealership where multiple PCM codes were found: P06E9, P0707, P1702, P1921. Dealer Service was able to reproduce issue; slight movement/wiggle to shifter caused transmission range sensor to "go erratic". Technician recommended replacing transmission Molded Lead Frame. I was given a repair estimate of $1284 and told the part was on back order 6 weeks due to the high number of failures in this part. This part has been recalled on earlier year models of the F150, but the 2015 was not included. I was lucky this incident happened during warm, dry weather and traffic was light. Had the roads been wet or icy (or had the driver behind me not been paying attention) this would have resulted in a violent, high speed accident. I feel lucky to be alive and unhurt.

Moisture in a taillight housing of a 2015 Lariat F-150 caused the BLIS module and wiring harness to short out. The BLIS module is tied into multiple vehicle systems, and caused the following issues: Airbags turned off BLIS system turned off TPMS turned off Windows and door locks don't function Radio stuck in whatever setting it is in when faulted Air conditioning panel and all climate controls turn off During a road trip this happened. I was unable to egress the vehicle until I shut it off. It is summertime so the vehicle, without ac or the ability to control the windows, became very hot. I had kids in the car. Also, without airbags, window, and door control, if I were to crash the vehicle, I don't know if I could safely extract my family. The moisture in the taillight is a known issue, and is covered in GSB 22-7002, but I couldn't find a BLIS module GSB/TSB. However, the BLIS module failure is a known issue, and there are multiple diagnostic videos and write-ups describing this issue on YouTube and F-150 forums. This is a safety issue, and should promptly be addressed.

Immediately took car to dealer so not sure how often it would reoccur. Have since come to learn that the cause is a bad molded leadframe connector in transmission. There have been alerts on older F150 models but not on my year. I know at least 2 other people with same issue on their 2015 models. The stall could occur while stopped (at a light or to make turn), while in park and only idling, or when the vehicle was in motion at less than 25 mph. If it stalled while starting a turn, then there was a serious risk of major collision from oncoming traffic. In said turn, more than a reasonable amount of time or distance was allowed to make the turn safely. However, if the oncoming vehicle did not recognized the vehicle was stalling, or had otherwise failed to properly evaluate the situation early enough then a collision would be likely. The later model years have had a redesign to attempt to correct the issue however the earlier 2015 - 2017 nothing has been done No warnings or messages are given that this issue is present. Some vehicles have had this repaired at significant cost as many as 3 times only for the issue to reappear again.
