It is 2014 F150 platinum it has a recall on the transmission. I took it in. They programmed it. I left with it. It was worse. and said that they had to get my truck was there for over a month and a half after the part was put on it. The transformation was worse now it’s back in the shop again for another two weeks. They’re telling me I need a new transmission. Anybody with common sense would know that if you’re driving 60 to 70 miles an hour and your truck shifts from six gear to first gear it’s going to tear something up in the transmission. I got it out and it was hard shifting out of first and the second out of fifth and the sixth and reverse was whining. All I’m asking for is help they want me to pay $6600 for a new transmission that I don’t have I’m on disability. Please help

Reference Tracking # 11622306. I purchased my used F150 with 52,956 miles on 1/3/2020. Shortly after, I would occasionally notice an unusual gear downshift. Upon receiving Ford Recall 24S37 (NHTSA 24V444000) update for the powertrain control module, the check engine lite (CEL) came on. I called the Ford Recall ph#, and they told me to continue to work with the dealership that performed the update. Several times I returned to the dealership, they would reset it with diagnostics, yet repeatedly the P0299 code would return each time. Prior to the CEL coming on, the CEL was preceded by a stall on acceleration on small hill inclines, and worsened fuel mileage, and typically after towing my trailer. These things didn't occur before the update was installed. (Attachments)

Ford recall 24S37, software update for the Powertrain Control Module. The dealer was unable to complete the recall notice update due to another problem causing the dealer to be unable to plug into the data link connector as it did not have power to it.. The dealer states that issue will be needed to be completed prior to their ability to finish the recall remedy. I do not believe I should have to incur the cost of that repair as I was told by the dealer. I called Ford Customer Service prior to this email also to no solution. In a nutshell, if I don't pay for a repair then the risk of a crash with my vehicle still exists. I ask that your department instruct Ford to authorized both repairs.
I was on the recall list and got my OSS sensor reprogrammed at a Ford dealership in August of 2024. November 6, 2024 I was driving down the FRWY at 65 miles an hour. There was a jolt and RPMS dropped to zero, speedometer dropped to zero yet truck was still traveling at a high rate of speed. My info area just gave blank dashes. It was like the things on my dashboard just stopped registering, and eventually a wrench flashed across the screen. My gas pedal was not responding, and I could not accelerate when I pressed the gas. Luckily I was able to coast off of the FRWY with emerg. flashers on without accident. I had to stop at a red light on service road and after stopping truck did not accelerate at light. I turned off the engine and restarted and was able to slowly accelerate at slow speed to make it home. The next morning I took the truck straight to the dealership (maxing at about 20mph- gas just wasn't accelerating like normal) and was told it needed replacement of the transmission electrical frame. I told them about the recall that I recently had reprogramed (august to November 6). The dealership claimed that the recall update and the transmission electrical frame failure was unrelated. They claimed that the transmission electrical frames commonly went out on these trucks and were a known problem but it hasn't been enough to produce a recall. I had to pay about 2k to get my truck fixed. The dealership said if there ever was a recall then I would be reimbursed for the part.

The Main Control/Lead Frame failed and yes, I took my 2014 F150 to Mac Haik Ford Dealership in Pasadena, TX to inspect the vehicle after the recall had been done on 8/30/2024. The service guy came to my house and reprogrammed the Powertrain Control Module. The safety issue was unexpected or harsh downshifting and sometimes it wouldn't start. The problem was confirmed by the Ford Dealership, which cost us over $1700 to fix, we thought it had something to do with the recall. 2011-2012 F150 had problems with the Main Control/Lead Frame and they were recalled, so I don't understand why there is a safety issue with the same part in 2014. It was inspected by the Ford Dealership and fixed. Before we took our truck in to find out what was wrong an engine light came on and then after that a wrench light came on. This happened while we were driving and after the lights came on the transmission downshifted. So we went home and called Ford and took the truck in on 9/24/2024
Upon purchase of my vehicle, I occasionally would notice an unusual gear downshift. Then, upon receiving a Ford Recall 24S37 and NHTSA Recall 24V444000, regarding the update to the powertrain control module, I now continue to have a check engine light come on each month with the same error code. I've returned each month since the recall to Ford dealers to have the check engine light looked into further since the update, but each month the check engine light continues to return. Downshift to lower gears continues occasionally. 2 different dealers have seen the codes in the history of the vehicles computer when put through the Ford diagnostics. Invoices provided upon request, if needed.

1. Aug 2024, shortly after transmission recall was performed. I shifted vehicle from Park to Drive, vehicle was on very slight incline and rolled backwards, as if in Neutral. Shifted vehicle back to Park, then to Drive. Same thing happened again, seemed as if vehicle was in Neutral. Turned vehicle off, waited about 2 minutes, restarted and vehicle shifted appropriately. 2. Oct 2024, speedometer, dashboard information system and navigation not working. I had to use my phone's gps to monitor speed and direction. Once I reached my location and it was safe to turn the vehicle off, I did so and waited about 2 minutes, restarted and all information was active and working correctly. This appears to be another electrical/program issue as with the recent issue of downshifting recall. I had experienced the downshifting issue and I had even taken it to a transmission shop but they could find nothing until the recall from Ford was issued July 1, 2024. Thanks in advance for researching above mentioned issues. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While traveling down [XXX], My 2014 F150 suddenly downshifted while driving 70 MPH. I contacted the dealership because it was showing output speed sensor fault and they advised it was a recall. The vehicle was “fixed” by reprogrammed but since they updated the vehicle, the vehicle continued to downshift and now my truck will not drive properly. Since they came out to reprogram, I haven’t been able to drive my truck but 2 times. I drive over 150 miles a day with my [XXX] daughter in my truck. It doesn’t go in drive without jumping and I’m worried to even try to drive it with my daughter inside. Spoke with the dealership again and they now said because the codes not there anymore there is nothing they can do. Driving at highway speed, went to accelerate and pass another vehicle on a four-lane highway with my vehicle ending up in the far left lane attempting to pass. Truck lost all power, began to shake violently like it was misfiring, got an illuminated wrench on my dashboard, and at that point began to coast with no power being supplied by the engine. Miraculously I was able to coast across three lanes of highway to the shoulder without being rear ended by traffic moving at 70 mph which would have resulted in a catastrophic accident (endangering myself and my family and others on the road that day). I shut the vehicle off to stop the engine from shaking and misfiring and let it sit about two minutes. I restarted the vehicle, the illuminated wrench went away and the truck idled as normal allowing me to drive another 25 highway miles to my home without incident. Had a mechanic put a diagnostic tool on my truck to see if any error codes were thrown from it which no codes were present. Have taken it to Ford dealership near my home, they have been trying replicate the condition for three days and have been unsuccessful. Their hunch is throttle body assembly needs to be replaced ($675 fix). Quick query of NHTSB reported incidents shows a growing quantifiable history for the Ford F150 3.5L Ecoboost experiencing the exact encounter I had on this day. My family and I along with others on the highway were fortunate the event didn't end up tragically that day. Ford - time to step up and rec
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair. The contact stated that the following day after having the recall repair completed, while driving 60 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted, causing the wheels to lock up. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the residence at slow speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The dealer related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train); and the contact was informed that the recall repair needed to be performed again. The vehicle was not repaired a second time. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was no longer covered under the recall. The failure mileage was unknown.
My truck has been exceptional other than normal repairs. But for approx a year, my power steering capability continued to fail - reverting to manual steering. I was unable to secure an appt with my dealer immediately - leadtimes were 4weeks, so I went to Midas where I knew a couple techs. They advised that my serpentine belt was failing and affecting the electronic controls - which includes my steering column and it needed replacement. I note that I was having battery charge issues too and those have gone away. The fix seemed to work. I paid over 800.00 this past April 2024and all was good. The problem began to manifest again, off and on since Late July and I brought the truck back to Midas. They advised that ford has announced a recall #14509 for this condition. I contacted Davidson Ford, Clay NY, my dealer, advised of the issue and had my truck inspected on 9/24/24. Their inspection confirms the defect but they advise that my truck is NOT covered by the recall. This is ludicrous. This completely unfair and the dealership will not assist nor will ford. They of course blamed you which is laughable. I feel my family is at risk, I cannot in good consciousness sell this vehicle and my trade value is destroyed. I am in a financial bind, retired and can’t afford this.

Complete loss of steering. Dealer said it was a steering sensor failure but that my vin was not included in the recall for the sensor. From ford: Ford is revising the total volumes of a safety recall for approximately 5,675 2014 Ford F-150 trucks for a potential issue with the electronic power assist steering gears. The affected EPAS steering gears may have a motor position sensor magnet that was incorrectly installed by the supplier.
I took my 2014 F150 in to Aaron Ford of Lake Elsinore on September 6th 2024 to repair a sudden downshift recall 24S37. The reason for taking the the truck in was because an event happened where I was on the freeway and the truck downshifted into a lower gear. I nearly lost control at that time. They informed me they made the recall repair and everything should work fine now. About a week later on [XXX] while traveling at about 60-70 miles per hour the truck experienced the exact same violent downshift event. This led me to believe the repair had not been made. I called the dealer back and they refused to take the car in for another review and since the recall had been "Completed" they tried to extort me by saying I had to pay the diagnosis fee to get it checked and no other dealer would help me since the repair was marked as "completed." All I ask is that Ford completes the repair as ordered by the NHTSA.

On September 7, 2024 at around 8 AM I was driving my 2014 Ford F150 3.5 L eco-boost and suddenly my brakes failed on me. I was driving and noticed that the low brake fluid light turned on and when I was coming to a stop, it was very difficult to stop the vehicle because I had to press my foot all the way down to the floor since I didn't feel any pressure when I pressed down on the brake. I made it to a parking lot where I put in a bottle of brake fluid, but then noticed that the fluid level went down after a few minutes. My vehicle would not retain the brake fluid and remained extremely difficult to come to a stop without putting myself and others at risk on the public roads. I entered my vehicles symptoms online and found vehicle recall "20S31", but on the Ford website, it says that my Vin is not covered by this recall. I believe that my vehicle should be covered by this recall because it has the exact same symptoms as others within the same years of production and also has the same engine type as the others that are covered by this recall.

I bought this truck 2 and a half years ago and from day one it has been nothing but trouble. I was sold a lemon I have spend God knows how much on this truck and now it sits in the yard with a cracked turbo, electrical issues and transmission problems that I've been told has been a problem along time and I'd have to agree. Within the first 3 months of owning the truck it was in the shop 3 or 4 times. I had all kinds of warranty's added to my loan that I wasn't aware of and I've tried having the issue handled but Ford dealership will not tdo anything about it. I still over over 20,000 dollars on this truck I don't know if you can help but if you can I'd greatly appreciate it. I've had numerous sensors replaced, cv joints replaced, a arms replaced, wheel bearings, catalytic converters, ball joints, brake calipers, brake lines, struts, purge valve, engine mount, fuel pump twice, and I'm sure there's more alot of this was in the first not even year.
There was a recall issued for the transmission downshifting to 1st gear while driving. Recall# 24S37. I have this issue and immediately scheduled the software update. they came to my home address and that did not resolve the issue. then i took the vehicle to Sunbury Motors in Sunbury, Pa and they ran a diagnostic and nothing showed. the truck is actively downshifting to 1st while driving. it has happened numerous times. they had me drive it 16 miles away to the nearest dealership. The dealership stated there is nothing more they can do. I called ford and they said "what do you want from us?!!!" ii would like my transmission fixed so that I can safely drive this vehicle.
The brake booster failed. It is not available. The mechanic replaced it. Because the booster failed the engine was sucking the brake fluid into the intact. This caused the the brakes not to have fluid and the engine to lock up and the engine threw a rod threw the engine. The problem was diagnosed by a mechanic and parts replaced. A brand new brake master cylinder was installed and a new engine is being put in. No it has not. Yes a light came on that the engine was low on brake fluid when it happened.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the brake pedal went to the floorboard while depressed, and the vehicle failed to stop. The message "Brake Fluid Low" was displayed. The contact applied the parking brake and pulled over to the shoulder. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the brake master cylinder and brake booster were replaced. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V345000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 190,000.
My Ford F 150 is a 2014 Eco Boost with 65,302 miles on it. I took it in for the recall and an oil change and the engine light was coming on intermittently. They said it had a timing chain issue. I have been buying Ford F 150's since 1980 and never had this issue. My extended warranty company denied the claim to repair the issue. The dealership said it would cost around $5,000 to repair. I checked the internet and saw some of the same vehicles with the same issue. I was wondering if this could be a manufacturer malfunction.
Safety Recall Notice 2437 / NHTSA Recall 24V444 The transmission fails to stay in gear and downshifts into first gear while going 50-60mph. This safety recall is very unsafe unfixed. It’s hard to control while driving the vehicle and can cause the vehicle to crash/lose control. Was not completed by Simmons and Rockwell Ford Hornell NY 14843. They closed the recall claiming it was fixed. The truck is downshifting exactly how it states in the recall causing the back tires to lock up. This is a huge safety issue. The dealership is saying the recall was “fixed” but this truck has not been fixed. It is still downshifting exactly how it states in the recall. We spoke with ford and they refused to help us with advocating for our safety with our local dealership or even getting a second evaluation with another ford dealership. The ford representative even hung up on us instead of assisting us. My children ride in this truck with this safety recall. We need help advocating for us. This recall is very very serious but no one is taking it seriously. We cannot even get a technician to drive the truck to see how it downshifts. If their own technicians won’t get in this truck but they expect us to have our children in it? We need help. If a company such as ford is required to notify customers of these safety recalls but refuse to fix them or assist their customers with a resolution. There is a maintance light on but it does not read anything.

Sanderson Ford in Glendale has no ETA for the defect leadframe in my car. Right now I cant drive my car anymore because the check engine light came on with P0720 - speed sensor error code. When I entered the highway, my truck suddenly shifted from 3rd to 5th so I could not accelerate in a very busy intersection. This because the speed sensor failed. Sanderson Ford does not offer service soon because they dont have an eta for the leadframe. or a loaner vehicle until it can be fixed. What do I do now?
This truck is shutting off, especially when I reach a stop and sometimes become hard to start. I take it three times for recall and they refuse to fix the problem. They also charge me and I am at wrist with this vehicle I did because accidental or death and damage properties. I need an immediate solution because it did last had running me around telling me lies. I cannot drive my vehicle and I cannot pass inspection because of this situation. Let me know what I need to do from here .thank you
Transmission issues that where addressed by factory recall: Here is the summary: Although the truck has high miles it has been running and driving very well. A couple of months ago, the truck developed a transmission issue that was covered by the recent recall. The truck was experiencing 2 main issues. A. The transmission would suddenly and unexpectedly downshift from a high gear to a low gear or even 1st gear. B. the transmission would go into LIMP MODE and although the truck was in gear, it would barely move and the WRENCH service light would appear on the dashboard. This would happened 1x per week for the last several months. After receiving the recall notice, I took the truck to my local Ford dealer, they performed the update. After picking it up and driving it, I soon realized the issue has not gotten worse. Within the first few hours and 100 miles, the experienced the issue 5 times and that happened for the next couple of days. I called the dealer, they told me to bring it back in, they checked it, verified my issues and said they could not do anything to help. The software was updated and if it is worse, then its permanent. I called Ford corporate and they told me the same thing. They are not offering any help. The truck has now become a hazard to drive and it is a safety concern. What can I do?
I received a recall letter 24V-444. My 2014 F-150 has repeatedly shown the symptoms described in the recall letter. Truck will downshift to 1st gear at various speeds, and the rear tires will slide when it occurs at a higher speed, and has done so on several occasions. On [XXX] I took vehicle to Auto Gallery Ford in Gaffney SC. They supposedly did the fix recommended. They told me to bring it back if it downshifted again. On the way home from the dealer, it downshifted again on the highway and almost caused an accident. I took the vehicle back and was told that Ford would not pay for the new part needed because a certain code was not showing up upon inspection, regardless of the fact that it has downshifted many times while I was driving. It is progressively getting worse and also showing an illuminated wrench symbol when the downshifting occurs. This is my only vehicle so I have to drive it in this unsafe condition. My 2014 Ford F150 was recalled for an intermittent failure of the output speed sensor (OSS) in the transmission. The recall was performed by Crossroads Ford of Apex (North Carolina) on [XXX]. When I made the appointment (which wasn't until 2 weeks from the time I called), I was told it would take approximately 3 hours however it was ready in 30 minutes. Since the recall was performed, twice the "orange wrench" has appeared on my dash for 15 - 20 seconds. I contacted Crossroads Ford and was directed to speak with the Service Manager Tony (no last name given). I explained about the wrench and he said I I would need a diagnostic performed, that it sounded like the 'mainframe in the transmission' was bad. He redirected me to the scheduler and I was given November 19, 2024 as the first available date. I was told my other options were to try another Ford dealership to see if they could see me sooner or just drop my truck off at Crossroads and they would work it in as soon as they could but that could take 5 -6 days and if it needed repairs they were not sure how long they would have my truck. I called 2 other Ford dealerships and was offered sooner dates however I would have to pay for the diagnostic and any repairs as deemed necessary. I asked even if it was related to the recall and was told yes because the recall for my truck had been closed by Crossroad Ford. My only recourse was to go back to Crossroads Ford and see if there was a warranty on the recall they performed. I calle

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
