I have a serious issue with my 2013 Ford F150 Limited. I almost had a horrible accident on I295 because of brake failure. Seems the brake fluid is leaking out and I didnt know this until I tried to brake and the pedal went all the way to the floor. Then the "brake fluid low" light came on. Upon Inspection after all the drama, got truck in a safe place, I checked and saw there was no fluid in reservoir. I filled it and pumped brakes a few times and pedal keeps going to floor then eventually it gained pressure..when I checked reservoir again, half of the new fluid was gone and truck was hard to stop again, So I had to tow it home. After taking to a shop I was told the fluid was leaking from master cylinder to the brake booster!! I then searched the internet, and discovered this is a common problem and Ford has a recall for this same exact issue my truck is having..Recall # 16V345000. Ford # 16S24. I then went to dealership to see if I can get fixed and was informed my VIN is not on the recall list and they wont fix. I called ford customer service and was told the same and also to contact NHTSA. So that is what i'm doing now.

May 18, 2022; Vehicle has 140,650 miles. My truck drove fine all day until It seems the like the transmission failed, it just kicked out of gear. The check engine light came on, as did the air bag light. The truck had no power, no fuel control, and seemed no transmission control. The first time, I was able to coast to a safe area, stop, and put the truck into park. It would not shift back into gear to proceed. I shut the vehicle off, and in park. Restarted and proceeded to continue, then it drove fine for less than 1/2 mile, and the check engine light and air bag light both came on again. The same problem occurred as before, no power and no transmission. I was able to coast to safety again, and shut the truck off again. Placed into park and restarted. Put into gear, and drove to a parts store about 1 mile away, with no problems, but I could feel the transmission hesitating to change gears. The parts store was unable to get any malfunction codes from the truck. We were able to drive the truck home without any other problems yet, 13 miles.

The Output Speed Sensor has been failing multiple times since I had the recall remedied in September 2021. The codes p0720, p0721 and p0722 have been present, and it hadn’t been to much of an issue until it downshifted to first gear while going 60+ mph, causing me to temporarily lose control. Because of the downshift the engine redlined causing the 8th valve to fail. The dealership says I need a new engine and refuses to fix the transmission because my truck has a salvage title. They also claim that they can’t confirm that the transmission caused the engine to blow. They have since been giving me the run around. The salvage title was present when they did the remedy in September but now it is an issue and to my understanding they cannot refuse to fix a recall because of a salvage or branded title. This happened a month ago and they are still dragging their feet, leaving me with no vehicle and not a lot of options. I have read that fords first remedy was to reprogram the PCM, but the real cause is the OSS going bad and the real remedy is a replacement of the lead frame. I would like to know why they didn’t replace the lead frame the first time if it is proven to work. I feel as if I’m not the only one this has happened to.

This morning I was driving down the road and I heard a pop from the rear window. I looked in the rear view mirror and saw the right side of the rear window was shattered. I thought it might have been something from the road, however I didn't see and visible evidence of something hitting the window. Not long before this happened I did turn on the rear defrost. After a Google search, I see the rear defrost has been a common problem for these trucks. Not cool because the window is $1000 to replace now!

Fuse for fuel pump keeps burning out causing engine to shutdown or not start at all. Smell wire burning smell when opening hood to check fuses. Am afraid this will eventually cause a fire in fuse box. Looked up videos on YouTube and it states that Ford recommends rerouting fuse port but this is electrical in nature and could cause a fire or perhaps other mechanical failures. I am not a mechanic nor do I have financial means to pay someone to reroute a bad fuse port which can eventually cause a fire.

My truck randomly downshifts while driving. I took my truck to fix a downshifting recall that should have taken care of this dangerous problem and it has yet to be resolved. I called corporate Ford and a local Ford dealer and was told I needed to pay $140 fee in order for my car to be checked considering the recall apparently was taken care of. In the system it shows it was taken care of but there is clearly a problem if the truck is doing exactly what the recall was supposed to prevent. This is our daily vehicle and it frightens my wife to drive it. This happens on a daily occasion.

Lost all of the electrical power to my truck as I was going to drop it off at the dealership for a recall. On my way there my truck downshifted into first gear over revved the motor and caused it to shut the motor down and loss of the computer as well. I had it towed to my local shop. I called Ford to see what they want me to do next and said to have it towed there and I did .Ford cant get power to the truck because there motor is no good. ford also tells me that the oil is way over full. but I know it wasn't over full it holds 6 quarts of oil and I know that.so they state that the oil is over filled and blew the truck up. but the problem is the computer and in that event caused the motor to blow up and push gas and break fluid into the motor truck only has 80,000 miles on it. this I feel as a manufacturers default and frontier ford of Anacortes WA. And ford itself only honors there own techs so they are going by what they say. I have been dealing with this for almost 7 months with out a truck witch has cost me a job and among other issues and loses. feel as they didn't honor or care about the customer or even looking into the dealership that has my truck. when I asked to seek with a supervisor I was told they are no supervisor available and that they would call me back i have still never heard from them. How long must I be without a truck or a jib because they aren't doing there job correctly and making my life here impossible to get a head in such hard time as it is. Thank

I applied the brakes and the hazard signal to try to avoid an accident. This is not the first time such an event has occurred. Ford has CSA19S07 active on my vehicle but the local Ford dealership has told me my vehicle is not covered by this CSA. I have reported these incidents to Ford Motor Company with no resolution. While driving at 45 to 50 mph, my vehicle suddenly downshifted to first gear, causing my rear drive wheels to momentarily lock up and skid and my engine to rev to approximately 6,000 RPM. To avoid a collision and engine damage, I was forced to shift my vehicle into neutral and coast to a stop on a heavily trafficked, four-lane highway. Thankfully, I was able to avoid a collision, I turned my ignition off and back on, and was able to carefully drive to a safe location. This known problem was supposed to have been fixed under a prior recall (19V075000), for which I had the service completed, but clearly Ford's fix did not correct the problem. I took my vehicle to a local dealership for repair, but, as service technicians were unable to replicate the issue and the incident left no trouble codes in the vehicle's computer, have refused to repair the problem. Prior to this incident, I had intermittently experienced an issue where the vehicle seemed to have been unable to ascertain vehicle speed, during which warning icons illuminated and both the speedometer and odometer malfunctioned, showing no readings. The dealership technicians likewise were unable to find a fault.

Checked for recalls and a csp came up unfortunately my vehicle is over the extend millage coverage by Ford so now I'm afraid to drive it. Many post on forums claim there is no fix that's 100% in correcting the problem. So repairing it out of pocket may not resolve it anyway. The vehicle automatically downshifted from drive to a lower gear -1st or 2nd- not sure which. This has happened 3 times in the past approx. 2 months. When this happens the RPM gauge goes to 3.5 to 4 and the speedometer stays on zero. The first two times this happened, I was able to stop the vehicle, put in park, turn the engine off, restart and proceed as if nothing happened. Yesterday, 2/22/2022 the same thing happened again and the vehicle stayed in the lower gear. I have taken the vehicle to a local shop which has Ford diagnostic software and they indicate that a module that sends signals to the transmission is faulty. We are waiting on a part from Ford in order to hopefully fix the problem. Is this a recall issue with Ford?
