On May 26, 2026, my 2019 Ford Expedition suffered a total systemic safety failure that resulted in my toddler being locked inside the vehicle in direct sunlight, requiring an emergency extraction. I used the FordPass app to unlock the vehicle and opened the driver’s door and passenger door on the diver's side. I placed my bag containing the proximity key fob onto the driver’s seat floorboard while the vehicle was completely off. I closed the driver's door and walked to the rear door behind the driver's seat, which was still open, to buckle my child into his car seat. Upon closing his door, the vehicle immediately initialized a "ghost lock" command, sealing all doors with the key fob inside, directly violating the vehicle's "Smart Unlock" and Passive Entry Passive Start (PEPS) safety protocols. The FordPass remote application then completely failed, refusing to process any commands to unlock the vehicle or remote-start the engine to turn on the air conditioning for the child. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling the application via a good samaritan’s cellular hotspot, the app remained completely unresponsive due to a total communication crash with the vehicle. I called 911. Local police arrived on-site first and attempted an emergency manual override using a mechanical lockout tool down the window frame, which failed. Due to the rapidly increasing interior heat in the direct Florida sun, arriving firefighters determined the child was in critical danger and shattered the re

While backing up the vehicle, the front passenger seat belt retractor pretensioner suffered an inadvertent, spontaneous pyrotechnic deployment. There was a loud pop resembling a firecracker, immediately followed by smoke in the cabin and the odor of gunpowder. The force of the explosive deployment dislodged the interior B-pillar trim panels. The passenger front seatbelt has been locked into place. Following this, the dashboard displayed a Check Engine light and a Battery charging system warning light, indicating the electrical system was damaged. The vehicle is rendered undriveable due to the disabled charging system and the compromised passenger seat belt. There were absolutely know warning lamps, messages, or unusual symptoms prior to the failure. At this time, the incident has not yet been physically inspected, as corporate customer service lines indicated a remedy hold on the active safety recall (Recall 24S06).
Vehicle experiences repeated harsh shifting, hesitation, sudden downshifts, hard downshifts with engine redlining, and loss of acceleration during normal driving. Transmission intermittently jerks violently between gears and hesitates when pulling into traffic or merging onto the highway, creating a serious safety concern. I have experienced multiple near collisions due to the vehicle hesitating or failing to accelerate properly while entering traffic and during highway merging situations. Vehicle has also unexpectedly downshifted hard while driving, causing the engine to redline and creating unsafe driving conditions. Issue has occurred multiple times and vehicle has been taken to Ford dealer for repair on several occasions. Dealer performed software updates/reprogramming, but condition persists. Vehicle currently has approximately 66,000 miles. Currently it is undrivable especially due to the fact I have children.
I own a 2019 Ford Expedition with fewer than 100,000 miles equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine. The vehicle began experiencing a loud cold-start rattle, engine timing issues, and check engine light illumination. The vehicle was diagnosed by a Ford dealership with internal VCT/cam phaser mechanical failure affecting engine timing and performance. The dealership diagnostic identified trouble codes P0016, P0365, and P0369. The dealership also documented that the engine oil level and condition were within specification, indicating the failure was not caused by lack of maintenance or neglect. The dealership recommended replacement of all four VCT units and four VCT solenoids due to internal mechanical failure. This issue creates a serious safety concern because improper engine timing can cause loss of power, rough operation, stalling, or sudden engine performance issues while driving. This appears to be a widespread issue affecting Ford vehicles equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine, particularly involving cam phasers, timing components, and VCT systems. A major internal timing-related failure on a vehicle with under 100,000 miles should not occur under normal operating conditions. I am submitting this complaint because this defect may affect the safe operation and reliability of the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V197000 (Seat Belts). However, the parts required to complete the recall repair were not yet available. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that both front seat belt retractors had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed by the dealer that the original seat belt retractors would be reinstalled and would not be replaced due to the manufacturer advising that the recall remedy is currently on hold. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the manufacturer has exceeded a reasonable amount of time to provide a remedy for the recall. The contact had not experienced a failure.
Complaint: While driving at normal road speed with no collision or impact, I experienced a sudden loud “pop” from the driver-side seatbelt area. Immediately after, I noticed a burning smell coming from the same location. I initially believed I had a tire blowout and pulled over to inspect the vehicle. When I attempted to unbuckle and then re-extend the seatbelt, I found that the seatbelt was locked and would not retract or extend normally. The restraint system is now inoperable. This incident appears to be an inadvertent deployment of the seatbelt pretensioner without a crash event, resulting in a restraint system malfunction. The failure occurred during normal driving conditions and without any external trigger. This creates a serious safety risk because: * The seatbelt is no longer functional and cannot properly restrain the occupant * The unintended deployment could startle the driver and lead to loss of vehicle control * The presence of a burning smell raises concern for thermal or electrical hazard within the restraint system I am aware of similar complaints involving unintended seatbelt pretensioner deployment in Ford Expedition vehicles of similar model years. This incident should be investigated as a potential defect affecting occupant restraint systems. I’ve contacted ford with no help to resolve the issue Injury: No Crash: No Fire: No (burning odor present, no visible flames) Speed at time of incident: 35 Mileage at time of incident: 170xxx The vehicle’s seatbelt sy
Backup camera is provides a distorted image more than 80% of the time. This is a known issue for 2018 Ford expeditions but it has not been reported as a problem for 2019’s. I am telling you that it is a problem that I am experiencing it. It is the same as the prior year issue. It affects all Ford SUVs in that era. Fixing it is a temporary solution - it is a known issue that they are frequently defective.
Had a passenger in my vehicle and the seatbelt would open/work. I took my vehicle to Confidence Ford in Norman,OK and was told the second row passenger seat lower retractor assembly needs to be replaced and it was not covered by the recall/warranty.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that after parking the vehicle and with the engine idling, the front passenger side seat belt pretensioner erroneously deployed, causing the passenger to be forcefully retracted into the seat. During the incident, an explosion had occurred, and smoke filled the cabin of the vehicle. The contact sustained an injured neck during the seat belt deployment. No medical treatment was required. After the incident, the air bag warning light had remained illuminated. The cause of the failure was not determined. The contact indicated that the failure had previously occurred on the front driver's side seat belt, also. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V197000(SEAT BELTS). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 135,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while reversing, the rear-view camera image was distorted or blank, with the message "Camera Unavailable" displayed. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall for the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 167,953.
Torch Converter was changed 1 1/2 years ago and now the CDF drum is going out, causing hard shifting and skipping shifts. This dangerous as the primary family driver to transport our children and the pause in shifting attempting to merge on the interstate is very dangerous and could ultimately lead to death if there is oncoming and if shifts hard or pauses with shifting when merging.
Car shakes due to Transmission rough shifting
My transmission feels as if it is skipping. It feels as if the truck is going to stop while driving. Making it very dangerous and unsafe for my children and myself. The two codes that a scanner gave were P0732:00-6D and P07F7:00-6D. Please help with this. My truck is not even that old nor is high on mileage. Thank you.
While driving at approximately 70 mph on an interstate highway, the vehicle intermittently loses propulsion during acceleration. Engine power drops suddenly and the vehicle coasts for several seconds before power returns. This has occurred multiple times and creates an immediate safety hazard due to sudden loss of speed in active traffic lanes. The engine also produces a loud rattle at cold start. These symptoms began at approximately 70,000 miles and progressively worsened. A Ford dealership later diagnosed cam phaser failure at 88,938 miles. The loss of propulsion occurs without warning lights or driver alerts. Sudden reduction in engine power at highway speeds increases the risk of rear-end collision or loss of vehicle control. This condition presents a significant safety concern.
The catch mechanism in passenger middle row and driver middle row are not working you cannot wear a seat belt currently as the latch will not catch my children sit in these seats and its unacceptable for such a mandatory safety feature not to be covered by ford in 55 years i have not scene a malfunction on a seatbelt receptor Ford needs to be alerted they have a problem and start a recall and fix my vehicle ASAP for 100% safety issues!
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 - 20 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond with an abnormal clucking sound coming from the transmission. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed, and it was determined that the transmission needed to be rebuilt. The transmission was rebuilt on three occasions; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the failures had occurred over the past four years. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 99,000.

Transmission 10R80 is having shifting issues that have caused near crashes. The transmission will have delayed or slow shifting or miss shift when starting from stopped position. It happens on cool days or warmer days. Many people having this issue with expeditions but Ford has inspected the vehicle 2 times and found no issues. They refuse to dig deeper into the problem and fix it. These are expensive vehicles and if my family is injured i will be suing the Ford Co. Issue started at about 40,000 miles. It was inspected while under warranty but now it is over 60,000 miles and out of warranty. If it fails now I will be responsible for the expensive repairs. This issue happens nearly every day.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormally loud sound coming from the transmission. The transmission was slipping, and the RPM was abnormally elevated. There were several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the engine overheated. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine overheated again. The coolant reservoir was refilled with five gallons of coolant. The engine continued to overheat, and the coolant reservoir was continuously refilled. The contact stated that on one occasion, the contact and her husband were stranded at the side of the road in the freezing cold for two hours. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with the driver's front wheel bearings and sensors failures. The contact was informed that the wheel bearings failure was the cause of the failure because the transmission was unable to perform as designed. The contact was informed that the driver's side front-wheel bearing, and all the sensors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.
Regularly experience violet jerking into gream and slipping/gear hunting. often times on the highway, which leads to unsafe speed changes
My engine makes a loud rattling noise upon start up and then a more discreet rattling while driving because of the cam phaser.
I got an oil change 12/20/2025 and was told I have an oil leak coming from under the timing cover. An estimated expense of $4000 to repair. My vehicle is newer, 2019 and only has 77,000 miles on it. This issue shouldn’t be happening to a newer car.
10R80 Transmission issues. Hard shifting, lunging forward, irradic shifting on highway, hard shifting between 3rd and 4th gear which causes the vehicle to lunge forward. Near full transmission failure on highway. Excessive loss of power and erratic shifting. Had to pull over in the highway. Mechanic states a new transmission is needed.
The passenger side headlight DRL is fading and does not appear to be as bright and pronounced as the driver side DRL. This vehicle has the LED headlights and fog lights.
While driving, the vehicle experiences a sudden loss of power, after which the transmission goes into what feels like a false neutral. It then violently re-engages and accelerates uncontrollably without driver input. This is an extremely dangerous situation and presents a major safety risk to us and to others on the road. Fortunately, we were able to avoid a crash, but this could have easily resulted in a serious accident. The vehicle was initially brought to the dealership for an A/C issue, and at that time we asked that this transmission concern also be inspected. We were informed that the dealership could not replicate the problem. Since then, the issue has become more frequent and more severe. We have now been told that we can drop the vehicle off, but that it may take 3–4 weeks or longer before diagnostics even begin, and that we would be responsible for out-of-pocket rental car costs during this time. We were also told that because the issue could not previously be replicated, this would now be considered customer pay, despite the fact that this is a serious powertrain and safety-related issue. We find this unacceptable. This is not a convenience issue—it is a known concern with Ford’s 10-speed transmissions, and it places our safety at risk every time the vehicle is driven. We have opened a case with Ford in hopes that assistance will be provided, including: Proper diagnosis and repair of the transmission issue Coverage of related repair costs Assistance with a rental
2019 Ford Expedition Max with the 10R80 transmission experienced severe shifting issues shortly after PCM recall 24E13 was performed. The recall involves PCM/TCM updates and adaptive shift strategy reset. After the recall, the vehicle developed shuddering, harsh shifting, flaring between gears, and delayed engagement. Dealer diagnosis found internal transmission damage including CDF hub sleeve axial movement and No. 3 sun gear shell seal failure, along with diagnostic code P07E6. These failures are known on the 10R80, but the issue escalated immediately after the recall update. Transmission required a full overhaul. Concern that the recall calibration and adaptive strategy reset may accelerate internal wear or exacerbate pre-existing vulnerabilities in the 10R80 transmission.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25E070000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the transmission was slipping while driving and shifting into gear, and an unknown warning light was flashing. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds on uneven pavement or over a minor bump in the roadway, the rear of the vehicle was jumping and the vehicle became slightly unstable, causing occupants or items in the rear passenger’s seats to bounce. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle made an abnormal rattling sound at start-up. The contact stated that the fuel pump was only pumping fuel at 33% and DTC: P00C6 was retrieved. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the timing chain was stretched, and the valve cover was leaking. Additionally, the vehicle was diagnosed with the left catalytic converter, rear shocks and struts, timing chain, valve covers, fuel pump, and transmission failures. The parts were replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving 50 MPH, the contact heard a loud bang noise coming from the left driver's side, and afterwards her seat belt retracted independently, causing the contact to have bruising to her left collarbone. There was an unknown odor present during the failure. The contact stated that the seat belt performed as if the vehicle were involved in an impact; however, there was no impact. An Independent mechanic was contacted. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The approximate mileage was 93,672.
My 2019 Ford Expedition started making some loud noises while accelerating and wouldn’t accelerate as usual when I pressed the gas pedal — there was a noticeable delay in gear shifting and acceleration. Often when I did shift gears, there would be a very loud clunking sound. It got much worse over the course of several days. At one point, I was on the highway and needed to accelerate quickly to maneuver around other vehicles —I pressed the gas and there was no acceleration— the vehicle just stayed at the current speed and it was a couple beats before the vehicle responded to me pressing down hard in the gas pedal. It did finally accelerate, but it was very delayed. It was a very unsafe experience. I have since learned there is a known issue with the transmission on these vehicles that causes this issue.
When you try to accelerate quickly, even when you’re switching lanes on the interstate or just driving down the road, the car will sometimes pop out of gear or something and almost comes to a complete stop causing you to almost get rear ended. I’ve almost been hit several times because the car stops and won’t go.
The contact called on behalf of a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while he was driving his 2017 Kia Rio at 10-20 MPH, and approaching a red traffic light, the 2019 Ford Expedition that was driving approximately 60 MPH crashed into the rear of the contact's vehicle. The contact sustained neck and head injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The contact was informed that the injuries had aggravated the contact's underlying spinal injury. The contact was advised to undergo an emergency surgery. The air bags of the contact's vehicle did not deploy. The contact's vehicle was towed to a tow yard, where it was totaled. A police report was filed, and the report stated that the driver of the 2019 Ford Expedition advised that the vehicle crashed into the contact's vehicle due to brake failure. The other driver sustained unknown injuries and was also transported to the hospital by ambulance. No further information was available.
I don't know if there's issues with rearing was driving when we felt like another car had puh up forward an happen twice just several minutes apart felt like brakes were stuck while driving or like rear end was shifting weird I can still hear like a tapping somewhere in motor sent it to be fix where we bought it before warranty was expired but they really just screwed up my ac an couldn't fix because warranty expired had to fix it ourself out of pocket money all were asking is for dealers to send there recalls all to have it fixed I don't want to pay for a vehicle we can't trust in town or out of town plus we were at Dr appt in Odessa tx 11/3/2025 an we did notice something like with brakes like licking a little

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the rear of the vehicle was bouncing excessively. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the rear suspension that needed to be replaced. The contact was also made aware that the rear sensors were not properly installed following a collision repair and were hanging down from the bumper. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 57,687.
I was driving and felt a clunk in transmission and lost power and almost got rear ended. The wrench light came on so I pulled over and turned off the vehicle. I restarted and it ran fine but the transmission is dangerous, I don't want that to happen again. The transmission constantly hard shifts. This was at 2am in the morning when I was driving from FL to MD.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 MPH with the driver's seat belt fastened, she observed a loud explosion inside the vehicle, and then she felt what she thought was an impact to her chest, and the wind was knocked out of her as she began gasping for air. The contact stated that she believed she had been shot. The contact added that she steered the vehicle to the side of the road and where she observed that the driver's seat belt did not extend or retract, and the air bag warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that after 20 minutes, she observed a swollen imprint of the seat belt, which eventually scabbed over. 911 was called, but Medical attention was not needed. The contact stated that she continues to drive the vehicle, but had to buckle the seat belt behind her while driving so that the notification chimes do not go off continuously while driving. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.
LED daytime running lights have failed and turned blue on one side. This issue appears to affect many vehicles of the same make and model. DRLs are a piece of safety equipment that makes the vehicle more visible to others, and as such, should be in proper working order.
I purchased a 2019 Ford Expedition Max from Rivertown Ford – Group 1 Automotive (Columbus, GA) in 2022. During the test drive, I heard a rattling noise at startup and was told by my salesperson, Derrick, that it was just a “cold start.” I was shown a CarFax report claiming no recalls or major repairs. I later discovered this was false. An internal Ford OASIS report revealed that transmission work had been performed before sale, which Rivertown Ford never disclosed or reported to CarFax. Since purchase, my Expedition has had harsh shifting, delayed gear engagement, jerking, and sudden loss of acceleration, often without diagnostic codes—making it difficult to obtain warranty repairs under my Ford ESP plan. Rivertown Ford told me the transmission backlog meant I’d have to pay for my own rental vehicle and wait indefinitely for a technician. In March 2024, the vehicle shifted into neutral instead of drive while backing out of a driveway, rolling down uncontrollably and hitting two trees. Neither USAA (my insurer) nor Ford acknowledged that this incident matched the 10R80 transmission defect and TSB 23-2249 (Nov 2023), which addresses uncommanded neutral engagement and loss of power. I was never notified of this defect. My insurance labeled it an “at-fault” accident, raising my premiums drastically. My Expedition is now being serviced for TSB 23-2249 after new video evidence and stored code P07E06-00 confirmed the defect. Ford’s OASIS system—which hides warranty and powertrain re
I was driving and the seatbelt exploded. Started smelling like it was burning super loud explosion It’s a good thing I didn't crash and hit somebody . I’ve never had anything like that in my life happen before.
After Ford Recall 24E13 (Powertrain Control Module reprogramming) was completed on my 2019 Ford Expedition Max, the vehicle immediately developed transmission problems. It began hesitating to go into reverse and then produced DTC P0736 (reverse gear ratio incorrect). Within days, it failed to shift properly and was returned by the dealership. The issue occurred only after the recall repair, indicating a possible calibration or programming fault that affected the powertrain. Ford dealership staff acknowledged metal in the fluid but gave inconsistent explanations and then claimed the transmission had to be replaced. The vehicle also displayed a “Powertrain System Fault” warning. No such problems existed before the recall. This raises a safety concern because transmission malfunction after a recall could cause loss of control or failure to move the vehicle. The vehicle was returned to us on October 7, 2025; it remains unsafe to drive. Ford Corporate has been notified (Case CXH-05773791-T4G0R8), but no resolution has been provided. I am requesting NHTSA review this as a potential post-recall powertrain safety failure related to Recall 24E13.
The Cam Phaser failed in 2023 and 2025. It kept the vehicle from starting. The transmission has failed twice in the past two years.
Ford 10 speed automatic transmission. Driving at highway speeds the vehicle suddenly went into limp mode. This dropped the vehicle speed from 70 mph to 20 mph without warning. A flashing wrench indicator light on the dash illuminated. A grinding noise coming from underneath the vehicle occurred. Our vehicle has an extended warranty. The vehicle was dropped off at the dealership it was purchased from. Dealership stated the separator plate inside the transmission was defective and needed replaced. The work was completed and the vehicle has been returned to us. This could have caused a significant accident on the freeway. Luckily with experienced drivers this was avoided.
In June 2024, my 2019 Ford Expedition experienced serious transmission and powertrain problems. Diagnostic testing identified catalyst efficiency codes (P0430), and I was given a repair estimate that included catalytic converter replacement. The vehicle also displayed repeated “Service Engine Soon” and “Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power” warnings. Because the vehicle became undrivable and the repair costs were unaffordable, I was forced to release it to auction in June 2024, resulting in a significant financial loss. In April 2025, Ford issued Recall 24E13 acknowledging that PCM programming errors could falsely trigger catalyst efficiency codes (such as P0430), potentially leading to unnecessary catalytic converter replacements, exactly the condition my vehicle experienced. This recall defect directly contributed to the loss I suffered, as I still owed about $11,000 on the vehicle when I could no longer use it. I have already opened a case with Ford (Case #CXH05645573C2W6R6), but I have not received meaningful assistance. When I contacted Ford Customer Service, I was not offered escalation or resolution. I was only told to call another phone number, which left my case unresolved. I respectfully request that NHTSA review Ford’s handling of this defect, including the financial impact on owners like myself who incurred substantial losses before the recall was announced.
The rear-view camera does not work 80+% of the time. It usually fails to connect at all and I do not have visibility or access to the rearview camera when backing up (in reverse). This has been ongoing for well over a year now and has been progressively getting worse. Before it would just happen once every 20-30 times or so but now it happens every day I use the vehicle about 80-90% of the time. This has resulted in at least 3 narrow-miss accidents so far as I can't see what directly behind me. On more limited occasions, if the rear camera does show up and connect, it will display the rear image upside down, sometimes it will freeze on the screen and won't go away even when not engaged in Reverse thus not allowing access to the screen. It continues to happen every day I use the car and most days the rear camera will not ever connect.
July 17th on highway going near highway speed of 65-70mph in congested heavier traffic, person merging from on ramp caused abrupt slow to stop and rear ended a F250 truck causing MAJOR front end damage, couldn’t get front doors open, frame bent, vehicle totalled with $22k or more in damages. Seatbelt locked and air bags NEVER deployed. Ford dealership and insurance company very very suprised that given impact, speed, etc airbags never went off. Also emergency braking system did give collision detection warning and then seemed to entirely take over braking as I attempted to brake very hard nothing seemed to be happening for brakes. Seemed crash could have been entirely avoided. Vehicle totalled and gone to salvage yard. Thank goodness no injury very badly bruised
I purchased my 2019 Ford Expedition Max Limited on [XXX]. When we purchase the vehicle we signed a notice that we would have the recalls completed within a reasonable time. I took my vehicle for the recall to Feyer Ford in Edenton, North Carolina on May 30th. Prior to the recall I was having no issues at all with the vehicle. Once I pick the vehicle up on [XXX] and started my traveling home. Within 10 minutes of leaving, the vehicle made a loud screeching noise. The wrench light came on, and the vehicle seemed to not accelerate forward. I was able to pull off the road and turn the vehicle off. I called Feyer Ford to make them aware of the problem and they told me that it was because the PCM had been reprogrammed and would need to relearn how I drive. I had the same issue happen again further down the road, this is a very serious safety hazard that my vehicle suddenly stopped moving forward in traffic. I called Feyer Ford once again and was told that I had to drive the vehicle 1,000 miles before the PCM would relearn my driving patterns. I took the vehicle in on June 4th to have it checked out and was told that I would need a valve body replacement and torque converter replacement. That essentially my transmission was bad. Since that date the vehicle has gone into reverse numerous times when I put it in Drive, it will also get stuck in 4th 7th or 10th gear when you are trying to drive it in a parking lot or going slow on the road. When it gets stuck in those gears the vehicle
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while stopped at a stop sign and reaching into the center console, the contact's ring finger touched the silver chrome trim near the sliding opening latch and was severely lacerated, almost severing it completely. As a result, the contact lost consciousness, causing the vehicle to collide with a tree. Fortunately, the contact did not sustain any additional injuries. No police report was filed. The contact was able to drive away from the accident scene and personally repair the vehicle. The manufacturer has been notified of this incident.
Seatbelt pretensioner inadvertently exploded while driving the vehicle and locked the seatbelt
Yesterday, while I was driving to pick up my kids from school, my 2019 Ford Expedition, the driver’s side seatbelt literally exploded — it went off like it would in a crash (but there was no crash). I was driving when it exploded and tightened so tight on me. Now the seatbelt doesn’t work at all. It was terrifying, so loud and painful. This is part of a known recall issue. When the dealership had my car back in May to replace my cam phasers, they told me the seatbelt recall parts weren’t available yet. Fast forward to now — the seatbelt has gone off, the vehicle can’t be driven safely, and Ford (both the local dealership and customer service) is saying there’s nothing they can do for me right now. The dealership told me I would have to pay to have it towed and pay for a rental. Also, they aren’t sure how fast they can get parts or diagnose it. I’m honestly at a loss. This is a safety recall, and I can’t use my car because of it. I literally just paid $2400 in may for my cam phasers and now this.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
