The transmission will shudder while accelerating, vehicle will shift gears up and down randomly, not allowing me to accelerate while on a road with traffic. The transmission will slam/clunk into gear while driving. When that happens, there is not power and your bot accelerating anymore and it's really unsafe in traffic. While coasting to a stop the transmission will hard shift/clunk and the gears go down whilst coming to a stop.

The air conditioner does not blow cold air when turned on. This vehicle was manufactured in the same facility as the other recall on 2018 Ford expeditions manufactured in Kentucky for the air issues. The recall for those vehicle show manufactured in January of 2018 to February of 2018. However, my vehicle was manufactured December of [XXX] but has the same issue. We noticed the air was not working about 6 months after purchasing it (bought in colder weather) and did not learn of the previous recall until now. At around 55,700 miles the transmission started slipping. Within a few days (less than 100 miles), the transmission would thud and lurch as well. On 2 occasions, one while accelerating at a traffic light and one while making a left hand turn), the vehicle lost power and would not continue celebrating from 3/4 gear. During both instances, my children were also in the car. The second occurrence almost resulted in us being t-boned by oncoming traffic. We took the vehicle to ford and they acknowledged the problem and stayed there was a tech bulletin about it. However we were 2.5 months (but not miles) outside of warranty and the repair was several steps and would result in costs up to $15k! We attempted to call ford as during the time of we were outside the warranty, I had a baby (high risk pregnancy) and then had to wait several weeks for an appointment as well. Corporate ford flat out ignored us as well as the dealer who tried to advocate on our behalf as this was such a severe and dangerous issue.
While parked on an incline, the truck's wheels disengaged and it rolled down backwards. The emergency brake was set. The vehicle has a known defect but the dealership will not expedite the repair.
I am experiencing delays in transmission shifting when the vehicle is cold. This behavior has recently started at about 85k miles. I have taken to dealer and had the transmission oil changed and Ford recommended cleaning the solenoids (at my cost). The dealer also resets the controller to relearn as well. I experienced the issues while driving away after the work, but I have been asked to drive around for a week and see is the problem 'goes away'. We'll see.
About two weeks ago my 2018 Ford Expediton Max Platinum 4x4 started exhibiting harsh shifting from 3 to 4 gear. Since then it has gotten worse. Harsh shifting, delayed shifting, harsh engagement of gear, or sometimes not engaging at all leaving me in a a very unsafe position on the road. It appears Ford is very aware of the danger and issued MULTIPLE TSB's about this issue. Vehicle has not been inspected by Ford as the service time is over 6 WEEKS LONG due to the very same issues are widespread. There were no warning lamps or messages before the failure began happening.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power inadvertently. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts; however, the vehicle sputtered while restarting. The contact was able to continue driving. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V392000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the VIN was not included. Additionally, the dealer informed the contact that oil was leaking from the timing valve cover and the front struts. The dealer also informed the contact that the transmission lines were leaking. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 64,500.
In looking up recalls for my vehicle I see several relating to transmission issues with the 2018 Ford Expedition. I contacted Ford they said there were not any recalls for my specific vehicle, however my transmission is experiencing problems I see in other recalls. Specifically when the car is put in park and it rolls forward or back depending on the angle. The other issue is the transmission did not engage when accelerating then it made a noise like something was loose in the transmission. I backed off the accelerator and the transmission engaged again. A warning light came on briefly when it made the noise then disappeared. Ford took down my information the case # is CAS47105525
I turned onto a road and when I pressed the gas to accelerate, the vehicle wouldn’t move. I put the vehicle in park, turned it off and back on and into drive and it let me accelerate. When I got to the red light, I stopped then went to accelerate when it turned green and the vehicle went in reverse and the engine light turned on. Both incidences could have resulted in an accident if there were other vehicles on the road at the time. The dial that changes gears and/or the transmission abruptly stopped working. I took it to the dealership and do not have the diagnostic results yet. They have confirmed issues with shifting gears so far.
Defective daytime running light, passenger side, that does not fully illuminate. I’ve noticed this on several of the same make, model, and body style (with the same DTRLs).
Gears are slipping, vehicle loses power, clunking noises, ghost spanner icon on dashboard, jerks heavily sometimes when going from park to drive, shift system displays on dash after noises.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, there was a grinding sound coming from the front of the vehicle. The contact stated that the sound was more evident at the initial start-up. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed that the cam phasers had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact was informed that the failure was a known failure. The manufacturer had been made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 46,000.
The transmission will drop to 1st gear from 3rd or 4th gear. The RPM’s will rev high, the vehicle will not accelerate. This is available for inspection if you’d like to see it. I was almost rear-end when I couldn’t get the vehicle to accelerate. Another time I was on the interstate and in 10th gear, I let off the accelerator pedal and the gear went to 9th gear, as I went to push back on the accelerator to speed up and the vehicle wouldn’t shift to 10th gear and again started to slow down, I immediately got over to head towards the side of the interstate. This is going to cause me to be rear-end if I can’t accelerate when I intend to accelerate. I can recreate this issue once the transmission is over 200 degrees (operating temperature). I have talked to several dealerships and transmission technicians. They believe the CDF Drum Clutch Hub bushing has slipped. The is a 2018 model, so this was BEFORE Ford Motor Company made the updated design to stop the bushing from slipping by create a “lip” to stop the bushing. This has not be officially inspected as most dealers are telling me 30-40 days and 7-12 weeks before they can even look at it. They say their transmission tech is booked way out. This makes me wonder why… upon my research these 10r80 transmissions have this problem. Ford even corrected the design (becuase obviously it was a faulty design, otherwise Ford wouldn’t have made this updated change). It does have a code saying “Engine Not in Park”. But displays no check engin
Ford Motor Company David J. Johnson Service Engineering Operations He sent Customer Satisfaction Program [XXX] on November 19, 2021, to all U.S. Ford and Lincoln Dealers. This program extended the warranty coverage of the engine cam phasers. I purchased my vehicle on 11/22/21. It is my belief that this repair should have been covered by Ford/Lincoln before this vehicle was sold to me. We purchased an extended warranty protection plan (from MPP) when we purchased the vehicle. When the issue was reported to MPP they refused to cover the repair as well. It was reported to them a second time and we were told that the mileage had exceeded our plan limit and we were denied a second time. We believe that this vehicle should have been repaired before it was sold to us (Ford TSB proves that they knew this was a problem). It has not been repaired and we are faced with paying a bill of $4500-$5500 on our own. We are looking for guidance on the next steps that we should take in regard to this repair. I've had a couple of issues with my expedition since day 1. When I click on my memory seat to adjust seat/mirror etc. the front mirrors (not the encasement) will turn in one direction and sit there and click until I manually adjust the mirror(s). Today is 10/24/23 and starting yesterday, I was in rush hour traffic and noticed my motor sounded different. Then while headed to work it just started jumping and popping in and out of gear. I am in stopped traffic at one minute and the next be going 70 mph then back to stuck in traffic. So, my fear is driving this thing and it totally failing and it causing a serious wreck to myself and others! This needs to be addressed or I will never own another Ford.
I have had issues with my Expedition not shifting gears properly/slipping gears. This usually happens during acceleration. Rpm will rise but act as if I’m in neutral and significantly reduce my speed, then with a hard thunk it will jerk my car into gear. This has happened twice on the freeway, once almost causing me to be rear-ended with my children in the car. The other car had to swerve off to the side to avoid hitting me. The dash will flash a shifting warning light and go away almost as soon as I get the chance to look at it. The other times have happened on main roads in town. Thankfully where it’s easy enough to pull off to the side when this happens. But even so, it’s starting to happen more often and at slower speeds where I’m accelerating maybe 5-10 mph faster. Just today, and the reason I am finally posting a complaint, my car slipped out of gear and when it finally slammed back into gear, the force was so strong that it whipped me forward and caused me to brake in the middle of rush hour traffic. Not only that, but it went out 2 more times on my way home and now I’m hearing a rattling noise under my car (which is probably metal shavings). The only thing on the dash this time was a yellow warning reading ‘see manual.’ This is my family vehicle that I use to transport my kids to school, sports, etc. So they are in the vehicle with me about 95% of the time. I am honestly afraid this will happen again at the wrong time while they’re in the car with me. Is Ford waiting
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Expedition. The contact stated during cold starts, there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the engine compartment. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power and failed to accelerate as needed. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed a failure with the cam phasers. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to Customer Satisfaction Program: 21N03. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 50,000.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that on start-up there was a rattling sound coming from under the hood of the vehicle. The check engine warning light intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the timing chain and VCT actuator and solenoid 02 sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was also diagnosed, and it was determined that the oxygen sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 107,762.
Our 2018 Ford Expedition Max caught fire while on a test drive after repairs at Canby Ford. It completely caught fire and is a total loss. We were supposed to pick up the car an hour later. If our kids were in the car strapped into car seats, there may not have been enough time to get them out. They could have died. The mechanic who was driving saw the engine smoking and jumped out (he was at risk). The whole car was gone within 2-3 minutes. In my opinion it exploded as all the windows were blown out. The motor block melted, and the front end of the car is gone. There is a report with Canby Oregon Fire Department. Most people would assume it was overheating, get out and open the hood with their family still in the car. If that had happened people could have died. There were no check engine lights on when we took it to Ford. It was just close to the end of a warranty and there was an engine rattle we wanted fixed. Please come look at the car to investigate. It is at an independent insurance valuation company. I asked the manager of Canby Ford if he would report it to Ford Motor Company, he said no it would just go through their insurance. Ford needs to recall all of the expeditions so someone doesn't die in a fire. Ford already settled on the 2021 Ford Expedition and there are fires on older models and similar F150 Trucks. There are many reported fires without a recall. Please recall all the expeditions and investigate all the other Ford Vehicle fires swept under the rug. We d
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, the transmission was slipping, and the vehicle failed to exceed 25 MPH while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed. The contact stated that the dealer replaced the valve body instead, because the manufacturer warranty department declined to cover the transmission replacement. The failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.
When car is stopped, the engine dies and it reads on screen “ place car in park to restart engine”. This is not the automatic stop/start. Car has died a handful of times when in stopped traffic or at red lights. Sometimes taking several seconds to get engine running again. Brand new battery. Herb Chambers Ford dealership used diagnostics on 9/29/23 and “did not find anything broken”.

The auto stop/start feature fails to work properly and causes the vehicle engine to stop running while on the road. The warning message "AUTO START/STOP, SHIFT TO P THEN RESTART ENGINE" comes up and you have to put the vehicle in park then restart the engine. This has been confirmed by the dealer (wife was driving it with the tech) and we have to pay $550 plus a diagnosis fee of $150 to get them to resolve this safety issue. Our extended vehicle warranty coverage won't cover it because it's a valve and reprogramming issue, not a part replacement. There are several mentions of this on a google search for the problem, yet Ford isn't covering any of the repair for a known issue. The rep at the Ford dealer said there is even a techincal service bulletin about the issue. Complete failure of the company to resolve this safety issue and charge the consumer for this.
My vehicle has been making a very loud rattling sound upon starting. I reached out to the Ford service department about this and they said the cam phaser is failing but the customer satisfaction program has expired and they will no longer cover it. I never received a letter from Ford regarding this customer satisfaction program (I hadn't moved since buying the car, so it wasn't an address problem); they blamed the DMV and said they are the ones that mail out the letters and don't know why I didn't receive it. They quoted me $3,300 to fix it. I obviously can't afford that so I took my vehicle back and continued to drive it. Today the check engine light came on and I noticed my vehicle is sluggish to accelerate. Upon researching cam phasers failing I found this: "You could also lose power suddenly while you are driving. This problem puts you at risk of an accident and exposes others on the road to a dangerous situation. ". I believe the cam phaser problems in the 2018-2020 Expeditions should be a recall. It is a safety issue.

In July of 2023, while driving on the highway and depressing gas pedal, the transmission seemed to disengage from engine. The vehicle lurched, making control difficult and putting me in a position of being unable to get a response when steering vehicle. The vehicle rapidly lost speed making a rear end collision possible. The engine began racing forcing me to release gas pedal completely until I could gently depress pedal hoping the transmission would reengage. The transmission finally chose a gear and I was able to accelerate avoiding a collision and reach a safe speed. No lights or codes showed after the event. This was my first time driving the vehicle on a highway after purchasing it used, 2 weeks prior, from a local Ford dealer, who certified the vehicle as safe to drive. A second incident happened Sept. 2023 under similar circumstances.
The Auto-Start/Stop is malfunctioning as follows: When I am stopped at a stop sign, when the auto-start/stop is engaged, the engine will shut down when fully stopped. When the engine re-engages (by even letting off the brake a small amount), the car transmission jolts the car forward very aggressively even thought the brakes are still pressed. It does this every time that the auto on/off is engaged. It is very dangerous! This is because the car will move a full foot, or more, forward when the engine reengages. I took my Expedition to the Ford dealer and the code is "TSB 23-2250" my understanding is that this code is for "AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - HARSH/DELAYED ENGAGEMENT AND/OR HARSH/DELAYED SHIFT". The dealership said that the Expedition needs a new "valve body" and that it would be on back order or they can overhaul it for about the same price and they can do that soon. The quote is for $1,400 to fix this issue. I have found out that the part is on back-order from the manufacturer and that they have ordered a significant number of this part -- CLEARLY there are a ton of people needing to fix this part right now. This is SIGNIFICANTLY dangerous because when the engine reengages and the transmission has a harsh engagement at that exact same moment, I have come close to rear-ending vehicles several times. This is a significant safety issue and NOT my fault and should be immediately fixed and paid for by FORD. You can contact me in any manner: [XXX] - [XXX] -- [XXX] -- [XXX] . I
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the vehicle started sputtering and unintendedly decelerated to 20 MPH. The contact was able to continue driving; however, the vehicle failed to exceed 20 MPH. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the fuel pump was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the fuel pump and the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) Solenoid were replaced; however, the failure recurred increasingly, and the vehicle lost motive power on several occasions. The contact veered to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle after several attempts and continued driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the fuel pump and the fuel pressure rail were replaced; however, the check engine warning light became illuminated. The contact's husband replaced the O2 sensors, the catalytic converter, and the fuel pump stand; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the vehicle shuddered while idling in the parking lot and then lost power. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts; however, the failure recurred while driving to the residence. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Tri-State Ford (1900 Interstate 40 Access Rd, Amarillo, TX 79103), where it was diagnosed that a relay in the wiring harness box had failed, and the wiring harness box needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the fa
The transmission is a 10 speed and when I took off at the green light and it jerked violently when changing gears then go out of gear and we basically stopped in the middle if the highway and we’re almost rear-ended. It continuously got worse and then completely stopped in the highway. We took it to the Ford Dealership in Florence SC and the mechanic said that FORD knew there was an issue with the 10 speed transmission but were not doing anything to remedy it at this time. We took it to several transmission shops & they each said they had several of FORD expedition &F150 waiting to have new transmission with same issue. Currently our FORD expedition is in the shop awaiting a new transmission. This shop has 4 additional FORDS there with the same issue.
-Powertrain seems to be the issue. It is available for inspection. *This has been happening since March '23- and it was very dangerous to myself and my daughter who was with me - occurred 6-7 times - and about 15 occurrences since then, life threatening danger to myself and my husband when with me. -Problem has not been reproduced by the dealer, but google this issue and many forums reference this "popping out of gear" problem. It is difficult to reproduce as it happens without warning, mostly at high speeds- no warning codes on the dash. . I have an '18 Expedition Limited 4WD. Issue occurs in 2Hmode, which I am always in. At highway speeds (70-85mph)while coasting, then attempting to accelerate(ie while trying to pass slower traffic) the car will lurch/make a clunk sound and "pop out of gear"(rpm's will rise as if in neutral and car won't accelerate). When I let off the gas, the transmission will lurch/make another loud clunk & engage a gear, then proceed to accelerate normally when I re-apply throttle. The clunk sounds are loud, jarring & alarming- like the engine is going to fall out. -No warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem- although the most recent incident 8/27/23- a wrench flashed on the dash- and the engine sounded like a buzz saw was grinding metal off the engine under my car while it popped out of gear, would not accelerate while traffic has to swerve to avoid hitting me from behind. I am having to quickly engage my hazards and hope the car comin
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while driving approximately 2 mph, the vehicle failed to shift into gear. Additionally, the vehicle shifted into the wrong gear occasionally. The vehicle was jerking forward and backward. The vehicle unintendedly downshifted or upshifted. There were no warning lights illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.

We were having issues with our transmission shifting very abruptly and making a clunking noise back in late June 2023. This was occurring as my wife was traveling out of state for a funeral to Michigan. We were able to drop the vehicle off at a certified mechanic in Ohio, and were told that they were metal shavings inside the transmission. The vehicle sat there for several weeks, waiting on a new/remanned transmission from a local Ford dealership. The transmission was replaced, and I flew back to Ohio to drive the vehicle back to Virginia in early August. At first, the vehicle was shifting and driving normally as it should. However, when I was near Richmond, Virginia, I had to change lanes to pass a semi, and when I pressed the gas, all power was lost and the lights on the dash went completely black. About 2 to 3 seconds later, the vehicle shifted with a loud clunk and the advance track warning light came on. The malfunction nearly caused an accident as vehicles behind me had to slam on their brakes, as I finally made my way to the shoulder of the road to collect myself.
The expedition started skipping gears and shifting hard, the shop had it for several weeks trying to determine issue. Their conclusion was the transmission so they just rebuilt it. That was in 2022. We returned it to the shop for the same issues only worse in July 2023 where it is still at now. They’ve said the technician has looked at it and knows it’s a transmission problem but has several with the same problem in front of mine so it will still be a while before they get to work on it.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle when started. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that there was no recall on the VIN. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
2018 Ford Expedition 3.5 - Engine makes a metal noise upon start up. Brought the vehicle to a licensed mechanic and was advised that the cam phasers have failed. This has caused engine trouble to include coolant leak and intermittent A/C. Dealership advised that there is no warranty and will not cover any cost of repairs.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, and occasionally while driving at various speeds, there was a loud rattling sound coming from the front-end of the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle hesitated while responding. The contact stated there was coolant leaking from the vehicle and the check engine warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the wrench symbol was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the cam phaser and timing chain had failed, and that coolant was leaking near the radiator. The contact was informed that the cam phaser and timing chain needed to be replaced. The contact related the failure to TSB: 21N03-S4 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the vehicle was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and filed a case. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 88,000.
The contact’s daughter owns a 2018 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that she noticed that her daughter’s vehicle made an abnormal sound at start up. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the cam phaser had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered to pay half the cost for the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
Rear hatch closes on person under it spontaneously and does not stop. ie will compress you if you do not move out of the way quickly. Could get squished? No No No
The cam shafts are not function correctly and need to be replaced which is causing the engine to overheat. The heater hose blew while we were driving the other day and engine temperature went to almost 300. The catalytic converter is also not functioning which is releasing emissions when we drive. The overheating engine could cause a fire while driving and the we all know about the emissions procedures. The vehicle has been inspected by the correct dealership. The warning light did come on and we took it into the dealership within the week. We also heard a knocking in the engine when we cold started the car. The engine light was not on when the heater hose blew due to the faulty cam shafts.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that he had taken the vehicle to the dealer on four separate occasions due to moisture leaking from the panoramic sunroof. Due to the failure, the roof headliner needed to be replaced a second time. The contact stated that the panoramic sunroof had never been used and had remained covered. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and referred him to the NHTSA Hotline. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
Rear passenger door will not open from the outside even in the unlocked position. It is still locked and cannot be opened from the inside or the outside. We have children that require the use of safety seats. in the event of an accident, we cannot remove them from the back seats. We have to climb from the front seats to the back just to get them out of the car. I have not been to the dealer but, the problem is still not resolved. No one has inspected the vehicle. There were no warning signals whatsoever. i consider this a major problem in the event of an accident. Not being able to get out or have help open the door from the outside will put lives at risk.
There is a recall on many 2018 CAM Phasers. My vehicle has the same issue with the recalls on many 2018 Expeditions that also effect the EPA ratings. For some reason FORD says the Recall is not my vehicle but they knew their was an issue and the FORD dealership tried to do a software update but the issue was never cured. They never performed the needed next step remediation. The ongoing CAM phase issue cause engine light to stay on. This has been going on with them for several years. They never would do the part 2 cure.
RPMs rev up as the truck is changing gears- engine stalls which causes an abrupt halt. I have to let off the gas for the gears to catch up. Several mechanics have looked and there are no codes. This is a very dangerous situation as I am on the road several hours a day for my job. It is especially scary when my children are in the car. Apparently, this is very common with the 2018 Ford models and NOTHING is being done!!!!!! Ford will be sued if this causes an accident d/t no my fault of my own. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ASAP!!!!!!!!!
Door locks don’t unlock on 3 out of 4 doors. Transmission jerks and acts like losing power frequently. Engine tries to die at idle when stopping. Timing chains failed along with cam phasers yet symptoms still continue. Heater hoses leak to heater core. This caused high temps of 255 degrees to occur for engine.
Front Blower motor not working correctly. Engine Valve cover driver side small crack.
No Brakes, Engine Racing, & ignition would not turn off, yes available for inspection at Seth Whatley Ford. Car crashed which was the only way it came to a stop, wheels were still turning when I got out of the car, if anyone one had been around they would have been hurt or killed. Towed to dealer, dealer was unable to find any evidence on their side. Insurance adjuster came out and assess the damage from crash. There was no warning lights or sensors that were working during this episode. Monday, March 27, 2023 at approximately 10am, I got into my Expedition to start my vehicle, the brake pedal was depressed as I pushed the button to start the car, and the engine was running smoothly. Foot was on the brake pedal when I put the car into reverse, the car shot out from the carport and engine was racing. I tried to pump the breaks and push the engine button, while guiding the car as it kept going faster and faster, until I hit a trailer that was attached to a truck. There was two witness that saw everything, that went on. I feel this car is DANGEROUS. If this had occurred when my family was around serious injuries could have occurred, or if I had been in a parking lot, there was no way to stop and I was not in control. Safety is the first issue. Special Note - I took my car in February 2022 for the recall.
