See attached document for complaint. I am writing regarding an issue I am having getting a refund for something I paid for to have repaired that was placed on a recall list by Ford 6 months later. In March 2025 my Ford Edge Sport suddenly lost brakes while I was driving. Thankfully I was not going fast and was able to get pulled over without an accident. I took my car into to the local Ford dealership here in Palestine, TX on 3/20/25 where I had this issue repaired. I received the car back on 3/21/25. I paid 563.16 in total for the repairs. In September 2025, I received a recall letter for this issue. When I called the local dealer I was told I would have to wait for a second letter before they could issue me a refund, and that the company might make me bring it back in again once that second letter was received. I have not received a second letter to date so I reached out again to the local Ford dealership on 11/17/25 and was told they have no idea when this may occur, that it could be months or a year. When this is a recall issue that I have already had to deal with and pay for, why do I have to wait for a refund? Please assist in this issue.

I started my Edge as I always do and the display panel kept changing from audio, to settings and on and on. It went thru all the choices and it kept going for about 20 mins until I could safely pull over to find the problem. The radio continues to play thru .the clicking of it changing choices. When I pulled over I put the car in park and shut my edge off, waited a few mins and started it again. It continues to cycle thru the choices. I shut the car off again, opened my door , closed my door, then restarted my edge. This stopped it from cycling thru the options again. I am also wondering about the other two recalls for my edge, the rear brake line and the rear camera. It has been over 6 months since I was notified and would like these fixed or give me a new car. Brakes are a very important thing and I do not think you really know what will happen if I’m going 60 mph down the highway and I have to stop quick. Please reply to this and let me know about the cycling thru choices and if you have a fix yet for the other recalls

On January 25, 2026, my 2016 Ford Edge experienced a catastrophic brake system failure corresponding to NHTSA Safety Recall 25V-544. The front brake jounce hose ruptured at the crimp, resulting in the immediate and total loss of brake fluid and zero braking pressure. The vehicle is effectively without brakes and is unsafe to operate. I attempted to schedule service with the authorized dealer (Pat Armstrong Ford in Wenatchee, WA). The dealer refused to intake the vehicle or authorize a safety rental/loaner, citing that "no remedy is currently available" from Ford Motor Company. I am currently stranded with a vehicle that has actively failed due to the safety defect described in the recall. The manufacturer's inability to provide a timely remedy, combined with the dealership's refusal to provide alternate transportation for a "Vehicle Off Road" (VOR) condition, presents an immediate safety risk. I have attached photos verifying the ruptured hose and fluid saturation.

Vehicle Information: Year/Make/Model: 2016 Ford Edge SE Engine: 2.0L EcoBoost Mileage at Failure: ~79,000 miles Description of the Problem: I am reporting a safety-related defect involving engine coolant intrusion into the cylinders on my 2016 Ford Edge equipped with the 2.0L EcoBoost engine. At approximately 79,000 miles, my vehicle experienced engine misfires and internal coolant loss. A Ford dealership diagnosed the issue as coolant intrusion into the engine cylinders caused by internal engine block failure, which required replacement of the engine block / engine assembly. Safety Concern: This failure presents a safety hazard due to: -Sudden loss of engine power -Risk of engine stalling while driving -Increased chance of breakdown in traffic -Potential loss of vehicle control in certain driving conditions An engine should not experience catastrophic internal failure at this mileage under normal operating and maintenance conditions. Known Pattern and Manufacturer Awareness: This issue is well-documented across numerous Ford vehicles equipped with the 2.0L EcoBoost engine, including the 2015–2018 Ford Edge and other Ford models. Ford has issued multiple Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) addressing coolant intrusion into the engine cylinders due to engine block design issues, demonstrating manufacturer awareness of the defect. Despite this, no recall has been issued, and affected owners are often denied assistance once the vehicle is outside the warranty period. Request to N

Manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for my vehicle in a timely manner: Sep 08,2025 Manufacturer Recall Number 25S89 NHTSA Recall Number 25V572 Recall Status Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available
Complaint Description: My 2016 Ford Edge 2.0L EcoBoost is experiencing a catastrophic engine failure due to "coolant intrusion" into the engine cylinders, a known manufacturing defect associated with the open-deck engine block design in this model year (referenced in Ford TSB 19-2346). The Failure: While driving at highway speeds (65+ MPH) on California freeways, the vehicle intermittently and suddenly enters "limp mode," drastically reducing power and acceleration without warning. This makes it impossible to merge safely or keep up with traffic, creating a life-threatening safety hazard for myself and other motorists. History & Diagnosis: The issue began in early 2025 with a Check Engine Light, which was initially misdiagnosed by a mechanic as a non-critical boost leak. The condition worsened significantly in Q4 2025, leading to dangerous stalls in power. A new independent inspection confirmed the root cause is not a boost leak, but internal coolant leakage into the engine block cylinders. This defect has caused permanent engine damage requiring a full engine replacement. The failure mode is identical to thousands of other complaints regarding the 2.0L EcoBoost engine, yet no safety recall exists to address the sudden loss of motive power.

While driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who confirmed that the failure was due to a misfire in cylinders #2 and #3. The contact stated that the spark plugs were replaced, and coolant was added, but the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that coolant was leaking into the engine. The mechanic informed the contact that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact called an unknown local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and confirmed there was no recall coverage for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
My brake pressure dropped rapidly and the ABS and brake system warnings lit up. I added brake fluid and it leaked out from the rear passenger side brake line. Took car to dealer and they confirmed a recall on the brake lines and replaced the lines. I was responsible for the repair cost and the dealer was not able to process reimbursement until unknown date of Ford completing recall instructions.
See attached document for complaint. I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding the handling of safety recalls 25V572 and 25V544 on my vehicle, and to urgently request your assistance in having all repairs authorized at a local Ford dealership, due to the profound unprofessionalism and neglect I have experienced from the selling dealership, Pure Honda Ferndale. My vehicle is a 2016 Ford Edge Sport with approximately 101,003 miles. I purchased it from Pure Honda Ferndale just prior to being notified of these active recalls, after which the vehicle was understandably grounded. The core of my issue lies with the conduct of the dealership's management. Before the recall notice and the vehicle being pulled from sale, I was in direct communication with the General Manager, Mr. Sheldon Taylor. He personally assured me that he would resolve several preexisting issues, including arranging for a vehicle exchange or repairs. These issues include the dealership selling me defective and outdated tires and a rim package that no local tire shop will service, as well as a noticeable and hazardous defect in the SYNC system where the screen experiences complete blackouts, particularly when using the navigation and radio. However, once the reca ll was enforced, Mr. Taylor ceased all communication and delegated my case to a sales representative, who has since also ignored my repeated calls and the recall notices I have provided. I have been left with a vehicle I cannot safely drive due to
The rear window spontaneously shattered/exploded. The rear defrosted was on as well as the rear wiper. It was 30 degrees outside.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed, and the vehicle failed to stop immediately. The contact stated that the brake pedal needed to be depressed extremely hard. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
My vehicle previously had recall work, including power steering, but now I’m experiencing: * ‘Steering Assist Required’ warning, and the electric power steering is intermittently failing * Traction control and hill assist turned off * Headlights (and other lights) staying on even when the car is off * The vehicle pulls sharply to the left when braking * Despite multiple alignments and suspension/tie rod replacements, my new tires are wearing out rapidly
My 2016 Ford with only 56,210 miles has developed a critical engine failure. The engine block due to a manufactuing design flaw has caused the coolant to leak into one of the cylinders. Dealership informed me I need a new motor at the cost of $7300.00. Ford will not stand behind the repair due to the age of my vehicle. It's in excellent condition other than the defective engine block.
I’ve had my car nine years. No problems with the body there’s no rust on it at all, and I love my ford. Just as I hit 100,000 miles the warning light came on the car. Come to find out it is a head gasket leak and is required to have a whole new engine. Yes the warranty is over as the car has been paid for and the warranty is expired. My complaint is that Ford knows this is an issue which I know for a fact that they know this. I cannot afford $7100 for a new engine when I just want to keep my car. I can’t even afford another car not even a beater for $1000. I’m complaining that ford knows this is a known issue, but because I am out of warranty, they will not help me. I’ve had ford’s most of my life and never had an issue like this. Very disappointing that a big company like this has a known issue but will not help repair it.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Edge. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V572000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the rearview camera was inoperable while reversing. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that a fee would be charged for the repair, but there was no guarantee that the repair would correct the failure. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, where the rearview camera was replaced with an aftermarket part; however, the contact stated that the rearview camera was not operating as needed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed and almost went to the floorboard. The contact stated that the brake warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that brake fluid was dripping from the rear of the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that the parking brake was engaging independently. The contact had received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V544000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer and was informed that the part was not yet available and that another letter would be sent when the part was available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 195,000.
The front brake hose ruptured and the brakes went out. This is consistent with the recall NHTSA Campaign # 20V469000. Ford dealer is refusing to fix it saying only the rear hose is covered. But it clearly states in the recall released on Aug 2020 it is the Front hose.
My 2016 Ford Edge has 95,000 miles on it and I have only owned it since Spring of this year. Out of nowhere, I start having an antifreeze leak, and notice it is coming from my water pump, and my mechanic says it is going to cost $2000 plus dollars to fix it. I called several other repair places and they won’t even do the repair because it’s such a big/expensive job. I have researched about the class action lawsuit about this particular problem in my exact model with the 3.5L motor. If my Dad had not of noticed the leak, it would have completely ruined my motor driving it around much longer. I am struggling financially after having serious health problems this summer, and I simply can’t afford to pay for this repair. I can’t even get approved for any more loans or credit cards, because I am in so much debt. I want to know what can be done about this, as this is way too much financial stress for me to have to deal with. At the very least, Ford should compensate me and take care of the repair costs.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Edge. The contact had received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V031000 (Structure). However, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that when the vehicle was purchased, the windshield was cracked. The contact bought the vehicle and, after a while, contacted Safelite to replace the windshield. The Safelite employee removed the interior and exterior brackets on the windshield and placed a black tarp on the top part of the windshield. Most recently, the contact stated that after a rainstorm, water leaked inside the vehicle from the A-pillar. The vehicle was not repaired after the most recent failure. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 162,000.
This is a follow-up to my previous NHTSA complaint (11689215.)regarding the flexplate failure on my 2016 Ford Edge (VIN: [XXX] ). This is a follow-up to my previous NHTSA complaint regarding the flexplate failure on my 2016 Ford Edge (VIN [XXX] ). Ford opened case XXX but closed it without any resolution, even though my vehicle remains undrivable. A new case CXH-XXX 1 was later created under Customer Satisfaction Program 22N12 for the same defect. My car is still at AutoNation Ford Bellevue (WA); the dealer confirms no repair authorization or contact from Ford Corporate. This defect causes a rattling noise, flexplate cracking, and sudden loss of power while driving—a clear safety hazard. Ford continues to deny repair based on mileage limits in the CSP, although this is a known safety-related defect. I am requesting NHTSA to review Ford’s handling of CSP 22N12 and require Ford to treat this as a full safety recall without mileage restrictions. Engine coolant issue, known problem for this model year of ford edge. Total engine failure at less than 60k miles. Engine light would come on and go off. Mild hesitation at start up. Went to leave one day and found vehicle would no longer start. Towed away and diagnosed with complete engine failure and coolant intrusion. Called Ford and was informed that while there was a service bulletin that directly acknowledged that these faulty engines are UNSAFE AS IS, they are not issuing any assistance to anyone who has an affected engine. This engine failure occurred apprx one week after visiting a Ford Dealership where they did routine recall work. We asked about our check engine light and because the light was not on while at ford they could not complete a check of the engine. During the other routine checks they did, they also claimed to have inspected the battery which at the time had terminal covers that were visibly overflowing with corrosion! We were not informed of this issue either. Cost to repair is about 10-14k, the value of the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while reversing, the back-over prevention screen displayed a blank screen. In addition, the back-over-prevention screen was frozen on the blank screen. The contact stated that due to the failure, the contact could not adjust the heating control or any safety features. The contact's husband had medical appointments, and the contact stated that because the outside temperature had changed, it was of huge concern. The contact stated that previously the vehicle was taken to two independent mechanics, and the failure was diagnosed as a failed back-over prevention system. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the contact was informed that because the display screen was blank, the diagnostic test could not be performed. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V572000 (Back Over Prevention); however, parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.
For the 3rd time in 9 years, my car's brakes stopped working. Submitted complaint to NHTSA back in 2020 the 2nd time it happened (the 1st time under warranty). In January 2025 left work to drive 17 miles home, only to find that the minute I drove into traffic my brakes weren't working again, straight to the floor! Drove 20 minutes to nearest dealer in traffic with hazards on while consistently pulling the emergency brake - it was an awful experience! Next day they say brake hoses were broken and fluid was EVERYWHERE! I heard one employee tell another, "What is going on with these cars and their brake hoses?" This time I had to pay over $1,000 to get it fixed. I'm warning everyone I know NOT to buy this car! My 3 experiences have been so horrid that it absolutely has made me realize that Ford is just not for me or my family!
